[Music] i think we can all agree that anti-semitism has been around for the last 3000 years and unfortunately we'll probably never go away stand up and make a difference because if we're not making a difference then who will there's a statistic from covert time in 2021 that the jew the jewish people was targeted the most out of any religion in the united states so i was studying in israel last year and we're at the yom young parade and we get an alert from hamas saying if you don't remove your troops from had habayit something's going to happen and then all of a sudden we hear sirens and we see people running and once we came out what we saw was amazing people started dancing even harder partying even stronger and singing even louder and that's when i realized during the flare-ups in israel a bunch of students in one of the dormitories were running through the hallways and ripping off mezuzah's and nobody was doing anything about it i went to college my first year and immediately felt a hostility towards myself as a jew i remember i was in one of my classes and one girl wrote a poem about palestine how israel was colonizing palestine how the media only showed a israel's side and i remember sitting there and feeling helpless i knew that this wasn't true i didn't have the facts to back up what i believe to be true there are non-jews in this world who don't even know what the holocaust is and that just struck me so hard one of the scariest and most imminent dangers of our generation today is the power of social media and how one individual can have millions of followers be making millions of dollars yet have absolutely no education and can pose something that can affect millions of people when i first started enough is enough i really wanted to know how do you combat anti-semitism so i really delved into that i think the main three things that we focus on was education uniting and empowering it really offers a place for our youth and our young adults to really feel comfortable and be able to educate themselves find their personal meaning and getting involved and then feel empowered to stand up the goal of enough is enough is to provide the resources and the knowledge base knowledge is power when you have that knowledge you're able to fight anti-semitism people could use our platform as an opportunity to do things that they care about and for every single person to take it upon themselves to fight it you're representing more than just yourself you're representing an entire jewish nation we're looking to create a curriculum that could go beyond just our community and kind of stress the importance of fighting against anti-semitism with education once they enter those college campuses we hope to spread the curriculums that we're creating and the knowledge that we are spreading within high school students to a college level not just educating on what to say but how to say it and to also bring them confidence that they shouldn't be afraid to speak up for themselves so i came to michael with the idea of creating a book club the goal of the book club is to educate and empower students and young adults of how anti-semitism manifests itself and understand from there how they can utilize that knowledge to combat it [Music] last year we had our main event which was stand with us we brought a few stand with us members and they spoke along with our committee members on how to educate and help respond to anti-semitism we've had panels and workshops in which we go and specifically give people direct responses to specific situations that are encountered on a college campus all of our events are meant to be interactive for young adults and to help inspire them and to want to get involved and realize that anti-semitism is here it's real so the empowerment is based off the education and uniting so if we're educated and we're united that's what brings us together to actually go and stand up we have to be strong and and proud to be a jail us as an organization we're going to try to target the youth and make events in which we can prepare people for specific situations i want to invite you to get involved every single person has their niche and i say that because every person on our team does something different come support us come join us we're here together as a team get involved in whatever way shape or form you could it's happening every day and we need to know how to stand up know how to respond we can't just sit here still and not do anything about it do your part stop the hate take action make a difference stand strong we must take action make an impact raise awareness stand up for what's right it's in your hands join the fight and do what's right roll in this together stand strong make a difference [Music]
