DAMOJO Spotlight: David Cameo - Elite Kosher Travel

Hello everybody. We're here in Paakana on Elite Coach Travel second annual uh winter vacation yeshiva break trip. I'm with the founder of Elite Coach Travel, David Cameo. And uh I can tell you coming on the trip the last couple years, I can say one thing. The trip runs very very smooth and there are there's a tremendous amount of preparation that goes in. You know, I first think when I just show up here like I'm just here. I come and everything's just you know literally a bouet. literally one way after another from the events, from the food, from everything involved. But I'm sure there's a lot that goes into it. And I, you know, David, give us a little bit of a behind thes scenes look at what goes into such a trip like this. The attention to detail. >> Honestly, it it's not me. It's it's number one, it's all Hashem. >> Everything. I don't know how I do it. I don't I mean, it's not literally not me. It's it's Hashem. It's this amazing team that we have around us. I mean, honestly, I I I need to mention the names that we have. I mean forgive me if I don't mention all of you but I mean I would say Jack Casy is huge part of this team. Uh you look around just the design this is uh planned out he goes into every single detail. I mean Rose Rosie Shamali you know without her the trip would not be running uh you have so which this is his first year with us but honestly you know he he's it feels like he's been here with us for years already. The way you came in and been running things so tight with us and anything I've really needed he's he's been there. Uh, you know, we have a AB Roso. This this guy this guy, he's a young guy, but you know what I mean, what he's been able to do on this trip alone. I mean, the kids, you know, have been constantly running after him. Uh, we didn't have him for one day and he, you know, I have to say is because this is that, you know, good guy that he is is he said, "I know that I'm out on schedule, but I mean, you know, I want to do it for you guys. I want to do it for the kids." and he he made a new schedule just for that day when he wasn't even supposed to. I mean, I got Stephen Bags on this, you know, who that coordinates, you know, with Sarah Fax, uh, you know, and she's she's also unbelievable. She she, you know, does her workouts in the morning, but then she does her popup game nights and musical chairs. I mean honestly everybody on this team uh you know especially again he's he doesn't like to be mentioned but uh our chef David Abigar and of course uh you know our new strategic partner uh with Saber Travel Group the whole menu was redesigned because of them. So uh you know that was a big help for this year as well. I mean last year was amazing but you know this year was epic just unbelievable. >> How much time goes into preparing you know this we were here for a week or 10 days. I mean when does it start? When does the grind really start all the detail? >> A year ago. [laughter] to really >> Yeah, you have to find the right place. Uh and from there you have to make sure that you can get the containers and the foods in, you know, and and then uh you it's a it's a lot. It's a lot. Put it that way. But that's why you have to have an amazing team and without my team, you know, none of this would be able to pull off. You do amazing work and really leading the whole team solely. How about you? You've been on a lot of different uh trips. You've been a lot you've been involved in a lot of different hotels. What do you think coming here for the first time? >> I think it's an amazing trip. Everything is a lot more organized than the shows I've been on. When we ran it, it wasn't as seamless as it is over here. Over here, you have a bunch of people working together, getting everything done quickly. If you need anything, there's always somebody who's there to do that thing. So, you know where to go. You know what to do, you know how I get done. We all have our jobs and we all have been doing it very well. I have to say the team, >> everybody does their job perfect. >> You know what you did, David? You were the first one really to bring entertainment to winter vacation. That was people, you know, it's always about the You're lucky if you get kosher food at night and you walk around and you sit in your room and you turned it into a whole extravagant uh experience. >> I mean uh I I I went on multiple programs uh for years, passive programs and it just you know I you know you go from one one to another and I just I always felt like we're missing something here for winter BC. I mean we always go away for yeshiva break and it's either you you know you go to Rubo or you go to anywhere else but you always shop the food and for me I said why not do this and you know I just felt like also that we had to do it the right way not only with you know getting you know the entertainment there obviously but also getting the right food and and the right people and to make everybody feel like they're special. Now I've gone on programs where you know I the owner I I I never met them. I never uh I never even knew who the owner was. you know, I want my team out there. I want my team showing, you know, who they can come to. You know, if any issue arises, you know, we try to do our best, but you know, I mean, it's again, it's all my team. I mean, without this team, I, you know, none of this would be happening. So, again, I have to say thank you to my team. >> But not only did we do entertainment, every night was a special team. I It was amazing. Like, one night you had Italian night, one night you had Japanese night, one night you had Middle Eastern night. You know, even tonight it was so much fun. The whole Israel theme, you had the Israel shirts, people were freaking out, going around with the flags, singing. You had the music blancing. It was so much fun. And the food was unbelievable. Every night, we looked forward to like, what is going to be on the menu tonight? And it was it was delicious. Like honestly, I gained a lot of weight this trip. [laughter] >> I really did. And besides for all the walking on the resort, >> I have to mention that Rabbi Hayun did an amazing job him coming on the trip and stepping up his morning afternoon trip with him. He was really amazing. >> Rabbi Hayun is is something I've never seen in my life. I mean, again, he's a big sadik. He has such a big heart and he's constantly looking just to to help, you know, people and to uplift them. And this is also what we wanted to bring. We wanted to bring an uplifting experience. You know, a lot of people go away for winter vacation. And, you know, um there's, you know, some people that, you know, I guess I'll give him a shout out, but DM Levy is is is a very, you know, I I love the guy. He's he's hilarious. But I love how he always says, he goes, you know, don't forget who you are and where you come from when you go on BC. And you know what? He's right. And that's why when you come here, you're sheltered. You have a rabbi here. We have prayers every single day. You know, too many. We have Torah with us. We have classes. You know, that's what we wanted to bring to the community. And not only just our community, but also the Ashkanaz community, the Persians. We're we're all family. We're all brothers. We're, you know, we're Yahoo Demon. And that's what I love about this that, you know, Rabbi Hayun is he has been with us since since the beginning. And he just he's just an amazing amazing rabbi. So, if you don't know who Rabbi Hayun is, you need to find out who he is. He he praising Mag and David of uh you know Madison. So again big shout out to Rabbi Hun for >> partying shots. Yes. What's next? What do we expect? What's in the works? Give us a little bit of a inside sneak preview. >> So uh we are working on Pesak. A lot of a lot a lot of emails and uh messages been coming in about PES. So when you do see this, ask us about PES. We should have an answer within a week. So I don't know when you're releasing this, but uh you know, ask us within a week. Yeah, it will be before the end of January. We'll have an answer. But our goal for Elite was always doing it a budget friendly trip because a lot of people weren't able to afford Pesak. I know in the beginning I wasn't able to, but to have that experience, I mean, I I've heard that people aren't going away, went to vacation because they want to save up for PES. For me, I want I want to be able to to to reach out and and be able to have people go on on Pes trips. I want them to have the experience of, you know, women not having to go crazy cleaning their house. what am I going to cook? So, we our budget's always been trying to get around 10 to 12,000. That's probably the hardest. I mean, we can get any hotel and do a trip, but for me to get that budget friendly for a family, that's the goal. And, you know, I want to try to, you know, get this out to as many people as I can. >> Dave, keep up the great work. >> Thank you. Bless you.
