okay good evening the truth is I'm very uh emotional I'm so grateful first of all to Rabbi reri and his wife you know I've heard so many great things about you Rabbi I've heard a lot of great things about you but to see how your family how your family got together open up their doors and every detail you guys are very particular to make sure it's done right because you know what's going on in the public school system the thousands of kids that are losing their identity that are embarrassed to be Yim that are involved in drugs and crime and and you know about this he says Rabbi you're opening up your doors and all I could say is I hope blesses you and your wife only from your children and grandchildren everyone that joined you today it's uh 5:00 p.m. 5:30 in a Sunday uh it's not simple to come out I'll be honest with you uh all of you came to hear me I'm sure or maybe someone else I'm not sure but uh but we're definitely definitely very honored to have you here um I think we have to mobilize is for this cause and to see people from all stripes and colors from all segments of our community from all parts of New York join together for this but it touches my heart and I'm very very emotional I'm very very grateful to every single one of you you know usually when you have a parli meeting you bring a guest Rabbi bring one you bring someone that's very influential we kind of changed things up here today uh the guest that we have in my opinion has of many great rabbis um he was he was a man that had everything in the palm of his hands and his fingertips all the pleasures of this world and to decide one day and say I'm looking to search for spirituality and more meaning in life and therefore make a tremendous change in his daily life said it's greater than many of us sitting in this room so it's a great honor to have Amari or Y abam to be with us here today you know I got to bring in a little bit basketball into this discussion um you know the truth is I wasn't born a rabbi I was born actually uh uh into a traditional family we weren't really keeping Judaism and my parents uh originally thinking about public school maybe this school they put us in yiva thanks to a few people that really pushed them and you know being in asazi yiva they push you towards baseball I'm sure anyone knows that they always push you towards baseball I love baseball and being an Israeli kid I love basketball as well and I'll be very honest with you baseball it gave me a lot of and the 1990s following the Yankees we won the World Series in '96 in '98 in 99 in 2000 you know we were the kings of the world but I must say the Nicks was a totally different story anyone here to follow them in the late 80s and early 90s um a lot of a lot of uh internal pain I I always tell people that when you see my gray hair is not from my wife not from my kids not from kazak it's purely from Patrick ying and John Starks anyone that knows who they were you know the you know the the pain they gave all the young kids in the 1990s I was one of those kids and uh I'll be honest with you sleepless nights frustrations and the year 2000 I'm like I'm done I'm done with the Knicks I'm done with sports in general and that's when I took my learning very seriously and everything changed in my personal life but I do know that when I stopped with the Knicks there was 10 years when they're having losing records 10 grade years and then 2009 or 10 when did they sign the 2010 they signed him it was the buzz of New York let's be realistic everyone was talking about it and uh I was already a young Rabbi at the time and my friends are going to games they're trying to implore me to come with them like I got R I go to the game you know what I'm saying and uh I fought the at hard I didn't go to any games I didn't watch any games um you brought some new energy into New York a lot of fire a lot of energy but really the real energy you brought to the world was not your basketball your basketball I would say is really minor compared to what you're doing now we have a man over here that today is really inspiring thousands upon thousands upon thousands of people to believe in the one Creator to know there is a in the world to know there's a purpose in the world to know we're here for a reason and this I think Amar or your this is your true calling this is what put you in the world for and you you found it you found the spirituality and you've been running with it for for quite a few years and I'll tell you one thing dealing with public school kids I send out your videos very commonly to those kids forgive me for say RAB Walkin the kids love you when I send his videos it's much more popular than yours so uh he had a tremendous tremendous and the influence he has in is really great and uh oh I see here Harry you know I met Harry in Israel two months ago Harry you're talking too [Laughter] loud I want to make sure you could hear me from outside I don't even think you need this what you I actually met Harry in is about two months ago we were at and The Moment I Saw Harry guys you just saw it anyone that doesn't know him he brings in light to the room he brings in a certain energy a certain fire and uh B anyone that knows me in the community I don't like giving people hugs and kisses but I actually kiss him on his forehead that night thank you because he's such a lovable person and I want to thank you B for for coming and helping over here and I want to thank every single of you for coming I don't know you guys personally but I got to meet some of you uh we have the vision of son over here God bless you for coming we have Jimmy some of our guys to shop in your store when they little kid but you do so much for and there's so many other people here which I don't know I met Mr Ray Haber and many others that are CL people and I saw another person before he looked like Charlie harar but he's not Charlie Harari he's family member but Mr Harari over here I met every single one thank you for coming out his name is Joe right he looks like charliee arari though but thank you every single one for coming here and now we're going to give the opportunity yes speak later on in the program I want to tell you how I met uh first how do you pronounce it no yat starta I was two years ago my wife in Florida and I went to pray in sh remember that TR on 41st Street I went there in the morning to pray I told my wife it's convenient there's a bagel store across the street I'll pray here I'll meet you in the bagel store and I went in to pray and I see this man I sat at a table and there's a man next to him who he must be tall when he stands up then he rolled up his sleeve to put on his tiffine I never saw such a arm in my life I'm looking at his how long they are okay and he's there and he's Ding and he's ding with kavana said who is this person I don't I I left the Knicks with Willis Reed and Dave the busher and Walt Frasier okay that's when I left the Nicks so I never heard of I know he and then when he stood up by I said oh my gosh whoa whoa whoa okay and then they asked me to say I said and Mr comes over says Rabbi I I want to I I want to discuss that you just said and I you know I was just amazed by this and he's standing there and he's talking to me finally I said like who is this man says you don't know him so no who is he then they told me okay and that's my encounter my only encounter with Mr sta was by and with that I'd like to introduce to you Mr by the way I want to take you down to my basement later I have a sixf foot ceiling okay also a maszle he's engaged with the col [Applause] here Rabbi this microphone is low to the ground I don't know if let's see let's see if you don't need it um you take it out huh yeah take it all right here we go perfect okay perfect perfect uh it's an absolute pleasure to be here this is my second uh time here supporting Pak and it's a beautiful can you guys hear me it's a beautiful organization I've happened to learn a lot about the organization over the past uh few months and you know the idea of keeping kids off the you know keeping kids uh putting kids back on the Derek is is is a solid you know idea uh for what kazaki is doing I truly support that because for me as a young kid growing up in Florida uh I was starting to learn and figure out what it means to to to live according to to God's uh uh audiences right and so as a young kid growing up it was my objective to learn about that and I guess at that point in time I was off the Derek right and and it took some time for me to figure it out took a lot of uh learning Alone um a lot of separation from my friends and even when I got to the NBA I was um I was in high school I was one of the top high school players in the country actually I was the top high school player in the country uh I was able to get drafted from high school to the NBA and even during my time in high school I was always learning tour trying to figure it out and I was on my own basically learning um in that particular request took me off to the NBA I got into the NBA at 18 years old out of high school uh drafted by the Phoenix Suns with the ninth pck which today is March 2nd so a year ago today they retired my jersey today which is the number which also was a number 32 so 32 March 2nd okay got it yeah yeah in the gatri I gave I I gave I gave a pretty pretty good speech uh in Phoenix a year ago today about the GATRA of 32 uh how it equates to L and L means heart so I gave my heart to to to the game of basketball and to Phoenix and these things um so today's a very uh uh heart heartfelt day um but again my journey took me off into to Phoenix Arizona I started learning there also uh took more of a stringent Approach at that point in time I was starting to really keep kosher I was starting to really figure out what it means to keep Shabbat I was saying shabbat shalom but not really sure what that really meant and I was trying to figure out what it means um and so I played in Phoenix for eight years uh I met a rabbi when I was 25 and the rabbi approached me said hey what you're learning is absolute fantastic I would love to sit down with you and this was a summer between me signing with the Knicks and leaving Phoenix and I was traveling to Israel and I think the rabbi reached out to me because I was traveling to isra is and everyone's asking me like why are you going to Israel you can go to you know the south of France to the French riera you can go anywhere in the world and vacate why are you going to Israel and my objective was to see firsthand what I've been learning and try to connect the dots basically um and so when the rabbi reached out to me I was training in Houston Texas at the time with uh with hakee elijuan which is an all-time great uh basketball player uh he's a Hall of Fame player so I was training with him in in Houston and I asked the rabbi yeah come out to to Houston let's let's sit down let's learn and the rabbi flew out with two other rabbis and it was me and a few of my study partners and we sat and learn for four hours and I I was I was truly amazed by what he was saying and what I was learning and it's like it was just a total connection that happening and from that point on I wanted to explore more about Judaism so I felt like it was what I've been trying to find throughout my childhood years and through the NBA a and so um I sign with the Knicks I start keeping uh uh y po I was was yumy po always come happens on training during training camp it was always a very interesting time for me because training camp is the most strenuous time of all the season right you have these uh you know Sprints and conditioning and cardiovascular workouts you have to do non-stop uh but you can't drink or eat right so the training staff will stand around me like we got to watch Mario he may pass out he's not drinking he's not eating um and it was a whole thing but the reality of the story is with one's on the quest to find God the one who truly into God one that is in love with God and have a relationship with God that supersedes anything that one may be doing within their career and for me that took my career to a different level I had a sense of calmness I had a sense of relaxation and I also was a very you know forceful basketball player so I kept my strength when it came to playing the game but it it gave me a sense of calmness uh when I played anytime I wasn't playing I was studying tour the rabbis would come over we have a million on top of my rooftop here in New York um you know I would go to the sh I would go to lectures at NYU uh I would have Passover Sater with with the rabbi that was also NYU and no one knew these things it was all it was all kind of like under the radar um and so I ended up moving to Israel there was the opportunity for me to to get involved with a team in jus Jerusalem and I got involved with the team in Jerusalem and after I left the Knicks I went to Miami I played there for one year with the Miami Heat and then I retired early I I didn't want to be a journeyman where I travel from Team to team and and just hang on for you know five years after playing I wanted to I wanted to go and retire and go live out my dream which is to play basketball and learn tour and so when I traveled to Israel uh when I moved to Israel I was there for five years I was able to to uh to go to or Yeshiva and me sharim I learn I learned there the rabbis there it was very very high level for me it was great because I had a sense of um scheduling right I wake up you know 6: in the morning go di in Nate and I go right to the aiva for a few hours and then go train weight train and then go to practice then after practice after practice I would go back to Yeshiva and then I will meet up with the r with my Rabbi which was a close friend of mine who also when we first met in Houston he also had moved to Israel previously so we became so we just became even closer friends because we both were living there and then I meet up with the rabbi after we'll do some review um over dinner and that happened for three four years straight and so the idea of that was just to be able to live according to the Torah and learn about it and I think now in in today's space um I went through I went through my Garis process did it twice actually uh learned here in New York and also so went through it again in Israel and the Bon BR went through the Bon brck Bine and it was a very uh interesting time right because when I was learning uh with my Rabbi he was like okay we're going to go to the B de and we're going to sit down they're going to ask you a lot of hucky questions and you just have to be ready to answer those questions all right okay all right I think I've pretty well learned at this point right so I so I walk into the B and the rabbis are there seven of them beards down to here no one smiling I'm like oh man this is this is this is intimidating um but but the rabbi was asking very sharp questions and I was able to give up the right answers then we dive in m and then my Rabbi said you did a great job so I felt very relieved and after my mford after after my mford date I felt like a brand new person just truly felt uh like I was levitating uh basically and so for me to be at the highest level of AI celebrity and to have the entire world the palm of my hands I you know for me to make a total shift and and follow a path that no one far as my peers will follow or have ever followed and to be the only one doing that was a sense of of leadership um in order for someone to make it out of high school to the NBA from certain communities it takes it takes a level of leadership it takes a mindset of saying hey I'm not doing what you guys are doing I'm taking my own path and I'm following my my sport my goals in these things same attribute happens when it comes to Torah and I always tell my friends who are studying Torah it's the same ideal with sport right if I want to be a better shooter I got to shoot more just got to shoot more shoot more then eventually I'll be more consistent then I'll make more shots then I'll score more points same with learning tourah when I first started learning Hebrew I was like man I read like a kindergarten Rabbi I can't very slow with my Hebrew reading I can't you know and he's like just keep going just slowly just keep going so same as basketball when whenever there's a sense of you not being able to accomplish something or or achieve it you have to slowly just stay with it and get the Reps in um and I finish with this with with last week's par right uh par truma we see that there's a lot of there was a lot of intricate details that was given over to ban Israel and to build the mishan uh the manora and also the AR cesh in order to and all those details very and when we look at the manura you see that RAB mentioned about the manura that we all our face is a is a remembrance of the manure right the manure has seven branches our face also have seven branches basically we have two eyes two ears two nostrils and one mouth and so what it reminds me of is that okay we have to be mindful of what we're hearing we're not hearing you know any any wickedness in these type of things we're mindful of what we seeing we're we're we're guarding our eyes um mindful of what we smell we're not smelling you know forbidden perfumes or uncultured foods and we're watching what we say right and for the more so when God created the world with words we also create our own reality with words so technically we're walking with noras you know so it it's it's it's very close to my heart and I thank kazak for what they're doing because being able to to keep kids off the Derek is is is a real job and the atahar is definitely out there and and the Yahara is working very hard so for us to work even harder than Yahara that's our mission and kazak is doing that so I'm very happy to be here and support the organization I hope you guys keep going strong thank [Applause] you thank you very much after finish a program we're going to have uh wine talked about how he learned rigidly for four or five years in I I've seen it in person so we have a lot to learn from you should to build a very soon I will tell you one thing guys nothing is uh by chance I told you this a month ago Amari I'm gonna share this with the crowd you know his name is yat yapat was the grandson the great-grandson of who of King David of David who was yap's father his father was King Assa Assa is spelled Alat Amari St Abraham here so you have his name r it in in the the books of of the prophets but anyways RAB thank you very much again for joining us for your support for your encouragement we really appreciate it the reason why he came here today the reason why rabi and his family was uh was uh opening up their doors on a on a Sunday in a cold Sunday afternoon public school kids 10,000 kids from traditional homes like everyone sitting here here most of these kids are sefari kids I'll be honest with you for the asazi crow they're much tougher to get ashim to change theim in the secular world are are already unfortunately so engrained in the liberal Progressive Movement it's it's 10 times worse their situation but we're still helping them out but 98% of the kids who dealing are the typical Persian bukharian Moroccan Syrian Lebanese Israeli kids that when they see a rabbi they kiss his hand but they're in public schools and and today the public schools are damaging their they think they're teaching in public schools today we didn't know till we were 20 years old they think that they're contaminating their minds with here in New York so although we started off in Queens today we have our programs in Manhattan parts of Brooklyn we have it in Long Island in Roslin we have it in Florida we have it in Arizona we have in Canada we're attracting anywhere where there are traditional kids in public schools we're opening up program they're trying to put them into this is our mission this is our passion and we hope and pray you guys could be part of this before we call upon our next speaker we're going to show a three four minute video uh where is Robbie yeah you ready for it we're gonna have a three four minute video we apologize to the people over here uh am Mar your head's blocking half the screen apologize so we're gonna we're going to show a three four minute video 10,000 children in public school 10,000 children wow these children's lives are being lost their souls are being destroyed from a value system in the western society that is so confusing between these cracks these kids have been lost and we just haven't mobilized our inner self our Essence to do what has to be done what are we doing to our children get them out of there give them a life of and what if you could have been there in 1943 and you could have been the person to take a train load with Jews instead of that ending of an outet ending up in Israel ending up in America ending up alive it's a generation save hundreds and hundreds of people will get married have children and grandchildren great-grandchildren one kid go from public schoola that one kid you could go to his 50th anniversary and look at his 60 grandchildren and say all of these were you we currently have three professional divisions for public school students we have a shaping lives division for children where we teach them the basics of Judaism from Reading to holidays and customs we have the j15 division where we're keeping the youth off the streets away from drug and crimes and bringing them into safe and fun and educational environment and we have the renowned PST division where we guide parents from A to Z every step of the way of how to transfer the kids from public school to Yas the intricacies and the details that they pay attention to in all for Hashem and like a fool I thought they were working with in Queens he's showing me New Jersey and Florida and Arizona and Canada they're going Grassroots into the public schools getting these kids out bring them to to study to every day to bring them together sping no effort and no expense to be able to reach those [Music] children whatever you think kazak is it's 10 times big you name it kazak does it you know it's that just a job it's it's a passion to keep them away from trouble and bring them back into the fult it's [Music] biggest to support organiz they are saving thousands and thousands not only today but for future Generations kazak is doing the most incredible work that I've ever seen in care of find out about kazak it is one of the Hidden gems kazak is one of the amazing organizations that are really making a difference they will do whatever it takes in order to save these Jewish and they went directly for the r every man in this room has the responsibility and the ability to stand up and to make a difference to save one child or two or five or 10 and change their future everyone has to think from now on I'm part of hak I'm part of Saving children children to remain Jewish you now you get more money you spend it on things like this that's how you get more money this is the Bank of God with very big dividence they will turn over the world for [Music] [Applause] you we have so much other footages which saw which we're not comfortable showing in a in such a form just because of the sensitivity of of of the images but there's aan going on again it's I don't want to say things in such a in such a form don't worry I'll say but it's really bad that's all I can say so so you're gonna go full force I want to thank I thanked a lot of people today one guy who's going to be upset of me for saying it but RAR oeri where is he you don't understand you see a little bit how crazy RAB David is by seeing how crazy his son is crazy in a good way and the called crazy last Sunday but but the 247 to make this happen there's no words there really is no words you're talking about today in Israel you have hostages said he's willing to pay $5 million if you helped him get a hostage out I'm going to say something a little controversial but I heard this from these kids today the public school system are hostages in their own right we're losing them right and left we're losing them M like dominoes I'm telling you in the in the hundreds that we've been to funerals that we've seen kids lose their identity in the hundreds we have an opportunity to make a big difference you know when it comes down to I sat down with some of the kazak board members we're talking about 10,000 kids in public school we attracted about 1,400 kids last year from September to September we put 500 different kids into which is not easy September 2023 through 2024 and it cost us $1,800 a kid you can adopt a child for $1,800 talking about bu it's a joke some of you could do one kid some of you could do 100 kids some could do 200 some could do 10 but adopt these children and like all the said there you're going to make a difference in sh and it's it's yours for Keeps we're giving you you can keep it for yourself with that being said it's a it's a tremendous honor I met him for the first time today a man that does so much for Mr Jimmy Kaz we can ask you to say a few [Music] [Applause] words this Amari but I'm thank you thank you um I'm very honored first of all I'd like to thank Rabbi oeri for opening up his house to this beautiful uh occasion and uh everybody to come everybody who's coming uh out to support uh this voice um first of all I'd like to say something to Amari because stressing he mentioned he had discipline and most people are not going to have discipline as a person like a mar that's a professional athlete that at at 18 or 20 can decide I want to start learning Torah and sit like a little boy learning this Al of bets not knowing anything about Hebrew and and uh actually getting to the point where he can start understanding Hebrews it I would say one in a thousand a lot of people at his age want to try and change their life but it's too difficult I know I wouldn't be able to do it if I didn't want to go and learn hebra at a young age to sit down and pick up a Sor and try and read and try and learn you it's just it's an impossible test so very impressive but uh we can't expect people that we're going to be able to help them at at that age to turn the page and come back to T it's a very very difficult uh task that's why kak would be so important for us you want to catch a child when he's Young when his his uh when his brain is soft and he's able to learn languages and he's able to learn uh uh thoughts and ideas uh when they're fresh in his mind and uh that that to me is the CR critical thing if you want to really have a person and be able to uh change and influence his life you got to catch them young um when they asked me to speak here I don't know if they really knew it but uh when I was in uh in first grade I was actually in public school and um we didn't have kazak at the time we had someone by the name of Rabbi Murray Masson that uh he just uh came into I I just told my father my mother your son's not going to public school I still remember the first day he took me to BR Isa and on neptun Avenue I didn't know what was going on they made me buy a parot seat I put on a parot seit and uh I if it wasn't for that I don't know where I would be so so and you see thank God today I'm able you know I'm I'm able to actually help people and uh and do Mitzvah and help people do Mitzvah just produce so again um what they're doing is transforming lives and generations and uh we really need to support it because uh you not only are we going to be saving Souls they're going to be saving souls and and it's going to be just one person you you blend your eyes you look back between between their kids and their grandkids you're talking about hundreds of people and they're doing that 10,000 times so uh God bless them um again I think we should all support it and I think that uh it's a great investment thank you Beau who who would have thought RAB Murray Melton just saved not one person we're talking about thousands because of all the that he does around the world so it's the same story over and over again we have the sh lost and we have the opportunity to be save them and one man that really I'm telling you right now five years ago or four years ago I sat down with raberi I said Rabbi I need your help and he's overwhelmed anyone that knows him from the moment he wakes up to the moment he goes to sleep I don't know how his wife deals with him God bless her uh she doesn't deal with you may my wife can talk to your wife but uh but be God bless her and uh and he got involved he got involved first by coming into to to our headquarters in Queens to make a rush to cry to to to scream and then today what he's doing is to open up his doors to see look what is here we have every single member of am from different communities we have members of the community in s m have Williamsburg in bar Park we have Persians and bukharians and and sians we have a few Moroccans here we have if I miss a background please forgive me but everyone is here for this qua it's only because Feinstein French jewelry when they were able they finally got a p an opening to take children out of public school in France he came to deal he was almost 90 years old and I said to him he called me up he wants to come to deal on a Sunday I said okay I'll make you a PO meeting no I don't want a PO meeting I want to go door too 90 years old 8 hours we went door too to 10 people he raised a million dollars that day to take children out of public school ravan Cutler take children out of public school r p take children out of public school take children out of public school thousands of children were removed from public school and put it to yeshivas and in America it's kazak kazak is the one who is Doing It in America they over 10,000 Jewish children from traditional homes as you heard in public school what's going on out there public school is a place where they are introduced to drugs crime and assimilation why did I really get involved a long time ago the seran community I'll give you I'll be honest with you we gave up we tried a number of times to try and help Queens and this problem and the B and we gave up these people came to me I said do me a favor leave me alone forget it it's a lost course they took out a phone and they showed me a video a chill went down my spine you see bukari CH High School boys coming out of school and marching to a to a Alleyway the alleyway happened to be behind the Sho and then you see a gang a gang of Gentiles coming towards them and now they're face to face and they start swinging they're punching each other in the face they're beating each other they're on the floor stepping each other these are Jewish kids these are our kids how could we allow this somebody's going to get hurt and kids did get hurt and some died from what they were introduced to we started getting involved and now the chief Rabbi called me says we have to go together to Queens and we went and we saw what was going on and I saw a folder that looks just like this and I opened the folder and in the folder is information all different birth certificates to to to satisfy that they are Jewish then there's all different details here about the child and then there is a picture of the child look at this beautiful child this is random they have 4,000 of these files of public school children who were they're talking to the family they're bringing the kids in for after school they're working on look what a beautiful child do we want to see him in the alleyway getting beat up or on drugs or assimilation we have a chance to save these children abai through kazak we're not out there in the trenches they are all we could do is give them money we will give them money and yes they will build worlds they will absolutely build worlds and I just want to conclude with the following I want to conf with the following I was once at a at a AA convention and ra P got up to speak and he said after there's a med that says that after 120 years you're going to go before theik and the going to ask you what about Shabbat Shabbat me I kept 72 minutes my wife lit candles 30 minutes before what does that mean Shabbat you know what kind of Shabbat I had beautiful with pis and everything else and Kash me Kash bet you name it I did it oh K KK you name it I did it in Kash what are you talking about and what about Tiffy my Tiffy leine my Tiffy you know what kind of Tiffy I had I spent $2,000 on my and I what are you talking about how could you accuse me of my Shabbat my Kash my no no no we're talking about your neighbor Shabbat your neighbor Kash your neighbor what happened to them did you take care of them or you just kept it to yourself are we going to take care of it or we're just going to leave it and we're going to be responsible one day this isak and we have to give a to these people that are out there in the trenches 18 I want ask you a question if if this was if there was a holocaust going out there and they came to you and they said you could save a Jew from the sh for $1,800 how much we would sell our homes here we could save Jews for $1800 I think we have an I think we have to take we have to take responsibility and do
