Thank you Avi for having this event. You
and your wife and your family.
The night is already late. I'm going to
tell you something very quickly.
When we help
bash Rabbi Ozeri Bakna,
when we help
anyone,
any charity,
it is very meaningful
to know exactly why and who we are
helping.
The reason for that is because when you
know who you're helping
and you know the effect of what you're
doing, you will do it from the heart and
you won't stop.
When we think about what we're doing
here tonight, who are we helping? I
think the first thought, the initial
thought, the overwhelming thought is
we're helping these souls
that
came and will come into the world.
Namote that will have an opportunity to
accomplish,
an opportunity to work, an opportunity
to live,
an opportunity to enjoy the world. Just
like all of us.
Is there any We're not giving food
tonight.
We're not giving blood.
We're not giving money.
We're not even giving kidneys.
We're giving life.
How precious it is to give someone life.
But it's so much deeper than that.
It's not only about
these beautiful babies that are going to
come into the world and one day be in a
tent like this giving their own money to
others.
But think about the parents.
In my experiences with people,
I don't believe there is a more painful
experience for a person on this planet
than being married and not have a child.
And I've been around a lot of painful
experiences in so many ways. There are
people who have a hard time getting
married. There are people who struggling
financially. There are people who have
health issues. There are all kinds of
issues in life. as everybody here knows.
But I do not think there is something
more painful
than a couple that is struggling to
bring a child into this world.
It is with them every single day. Every
month there's hope and every month
there's a disappointment.
Wherever they go, you know, newlyweds,
what do they talk about?
They talk about their children. They
talk about going to the park. They talk
about buying them clothing. They talk
about shopping. They talk about baby
bottles.
Newlyweds when they talk, they talk
about their babies.
When people are married, what do they
talk about? What do you talk about with
your husband?
There's not a lot to talk about. You
already know everything. That's why men
don't like to talk.
But if there's one subject everyone
needs to talk about, it's their
children.
Oh, she did this, she started walking,
she started smiling, he started doing
this. Is it's endless. The conversation
of a marriage
has so much to do with children.
A couple that's married
can't converse with their friends. They
can't go to the park.
They're not even able to talk to each
other in a normal way.
And what about all the times in life
when people are excited
like Kanuka's coming? We're having a
Kaneka party.
My mommy. Oh, great. Another painful
experience.
You know what it's like for a couple to
go to a Kaneka party with all the
children
and they go themselves
is very painful. It's a very happy day,
but not for a couple that's not having a
child. It's a very difficult day when
you see all the children with their
flags and excitement.
And how about the sedar?
Everyone gets a turn
to say
everyone's asking man.
Who asked the manana?
For a couple who doesn't have a child,
almost every occasion becomes a moment
of pain.
A wedding,
a breit mah. When we get an brema
invitation, we're happy for people and
they also want to be happy, but it's so
hard.
And on and on and on. We're not just
helping little children come into the
world. We're helping a husband and wife
that's living in pain that's
unimaginable.
They don't have a place to escape. They
can't go to the park. They can't go to
anywhere that can avoid seeing things
that bring them pain.
Now, we understand perhaps what Rael
Menu said when she told her husband
bring me children
and if not
I might as well be dead
from a great woman like Rael Menu. Those
are some very strong words.
But that's the pain of a couple that's
having a hard time bringing a child. And
what about their parents?
When the parents see their children
suffering, they suffer more than them.
They always have to be careful around
them.
They have to worry about them.
Brothers and sisters and siblings are
constantly not sure. Should they talk
about their children? Should they not
talk about that? Should they bring their
children? What should happen? It's so
uncomfortable for everybody.
Dozens of people are affected by one
couple.
I think I'm stating the obvious. I'm not
saying any major
to have
bonam there for people that are
struggling. They may not solve every
single couple's problem.
But just being part of the process
already gives someone to speak with and
someone to share with and someone to
carry the burden with. And for that
alone, if there was not one baby, I know
they showed me here how many babies were
born in the last year. Even if not one
baby was born, it's worth it to have
someone to speak to about your issue
because it's a very dark world for such
a person.
And there is success beyond that. Babies
are born. Babies are coming into this
world and we are a part of that life.
This is our opportunity
to really act like the creator. There
are so many ways we can be like the
creator. We can be kind like him. We can
be compassionate like him. We can be
patient like him. We can be wise like
him. But how often does a person have
the chance to be a creator like him?
Tonight we have a chance to be a
creator, to be a partner in the creation
of a wonderful, beautiful, gorgeous
young child.
And we thank Bonam for their
beautiful work and all the people, the
Hadids
and everybody else who's fully involved.
I know a lot of ladies are involved. Joe
Mansour and company and whoever. I know
I'm missing people.
But to all of you who are involved,
Hashem should bless you. I have a lot of
respect for you like many like me to
work for people who need help in the way
that these people need help. And by the
way, this crosses all lines. There's no
wealth in this area. There's no good
looks in this area. There's no
popularity in this area. It doesn't make
a difference who you are, how religious
you are, how non-religious you are. It
makes no difference. This could happen
to anyone to everyone and they need the
help. And for that bonam is here and
ready. And
it's an organization that we would like
not to exist. We wish you don't exist
anymore one day and people all have
children. But the way the world is set
up right now, Hashem wants it to exist
because he wants us to be partners in
creating people. And we will be and that
merit will bring us tremendous blessings
in our lives. And will bring us many
children and many grandchildren and
great-grandchildren. May the merit of
creating others be a merit for your
families to continue to grow and to
blossom in all the beautiful ways. Amen.
Amen. Thank you again Avi for opening
your home. God bless you.
