What
a food here.
Today's breakfast is sponsored by the
pilot of the new MDY
jet, otherwise known as Gil, and by the
best attorney of the tangibility,
shear. Who's that?
Ai
Valde. So, we're just All we need is a
jet and we have the pilot already ready.
Um, what do I do here? I don't know
where to start.
Oh, dear. I've joined since made a seal
for the first time in my life. A few
days ago, you mentioned this. I went
back a couple weeks after makeup on the
emails. So, I I I got a bunch of emails.
They said it's
not what's from
It's not I want to take this opportunity
to point out that every losses the

Gilkarov I haven't opened up a gimar in
a consistent basis in over 12 years
We're mama on a theme every day now.
Yesterday was 13 years. For the past
year, I've been beating myself up
wanting to start the DA. My schedule
always been unpredictable to my work
with the fire department. Those are
excuses. Yes. So, but going to the fire
department, coming back, there's always
always time. The lack of steady routine
made it hard to commit. Eventually, I
had to face reality. Accept that if I
wanted to learn, I'd have to find a way
to make it fit. Even with almost zero
free time in my day, with the mindset
and with Hashem's help, I was finally
able to make the Dav a consistent part
of my
life. As you can see in the attached
photo, I'm at the fire ass with my gear
hanging right by my side, ready to
respond to an emergency. In between, I'm
learning that's become my nor my new
normal. March 31st of this year was my
first day. And I'm proud to say I
recently completed misus makus with you
in 12 years. Thank you for everything
you do. I'm excited to keep going and
continue the journey together with
appreciation. Jonathan
Gilkarov, thank you for bringing on
Rebelli Silver to share his amazing
story. I want to share a from Galinsky
asked why
is called Rebi. He's about why is he a
rebi? What lesson did he teach? All he
did was do tru for all his various
fores. He as he taught
us based on this everything is dependent
just on me. It would seem that Rebelli
was correct in calling Ellie Silva Reb.
Believe this taught us a very valuable
lesson. My name is Eric Sus. I'm an
operating room nurse, a nurse
practitioner working trauma center. I'm
recent MDY Daffer. Started last Pakistan
Hedrin. Haven't missed a day. Well,
usually I don't have time to listen to
sh during work. I was given extra pay to
help in the central sterilization
packaging part of the hospital. They
listen to
music. Some of the employers watching
asked, "What's this?" One of the
managers is a Muslim. She really was
impressed with the level of commitment.
Keep up the good work till

120. This is very This was a letter sent
to
Yasi Yasi clan who we all tremendous. He
put together an amazing amazing trip.
Hoping all is well. I'm so happy to hear
how well the safari went. I'm sorry I
didn't reach out earlier. I wanted to
share something with you which was to
you and MDY team to keep going. The fact
you have people to be honest I was sad
not to be able to join this is from Eli
Ashir who was a big part of the last
year's trip but seemed the dates just
weren't working out. In fact he tried to
plan to this day.
Okay.
But it was like Hashem was moving my
schedule around to clear this week in
order for me to be home. Then on
Wednesday, Hashem made the reason clear.
My father fell and hit his head. We took
him to the hospital. We did a scan which
showed a growth. On Friday, on Thursday,
we went to the specialist, went in for
surgery to remove a big tumor. Hashem
saved his life, but also made sure I was
there. As I know, I would have been
really hard on myself if I was not able
to be by his side. Sitting in the
hospital, I was able to do something I
never thought I'd be able to do in every
crazy sit like this. It gave me so much
comfort to be able to learn during this
time. But what is the most important
part of the story is that we asked my
father what he wanted us to bring to the
hospital for him and he asked for his
MDY gim makus with nikudas to review. So
last last year Elashir got up and was
crying when he spoke and he said how the
because of the da he convinced his
father to do the daf and and his father
and him now have a better relationship.
The whole thing was very
um one more I got to read this. This my
wife sent me. I'm not exactly going to
send the email. We got Rashus to put
this out here. But I want to tell you I
just got home from look this is from my
wife's friend. Somebody that was on the
safari. Just got home from the long
workday in a very hot weather and was
exhausted and hadn't det. And I thought
to myself, I'm too tired. Had such a
hard day and it was so hot and can't d
today. And then I thought about your
husband, how he functions, the hours he
keeps in his bloodshot eyes on the
safari and decided that I can't use I'm
too tired. It just doesn't work for me
anymore. So I da and it wasn't the best.
But I also know that sometimes not the
best
daff and he doesn't let that stop him
either. So I wanted to share with you
how you get inspired by husband's
commitment. You should be so proud to

this bread.
mount. He really needs to eat it because
he's dying. He really needs
it and he forgot that he made a he swore
he's not going to eat it. He's so hungry
just grabbed it and ate it. What's says
to what do you mean is if he's really if
it's a danger of his
life he goes to the and the will say
it's for him to eat. So now that he
forgot what's the problem? Even if he
even if he forgot that he made he should
be
pter what happened was he wasn't dying
he was just very hungry and then he went
ahead and he ate interesting Tyus here
Tyus
says he's imish reminds me of that
famous story I said it recently nobody
liked it when I said it but here. Ty
says his mom is saying it. There was a
guy that he was by the pirates and the
pirates said, "I want you to to eat this
khazer." He said, "No, I'm not eating
the khazer." He said, "But I want you."
He said, "I don't eat
kazer." And then the meal goes on and
there's hardly any khazer left. And then
the parts gets upset. He pulls out his
gun and he says, "If you don't eat the
kazer, you don't eat those few crumbs
over there, I'm going to kill
you." Ah, okay. You're going to kill me.
So he eats he eats the crumbs and then
he tells him, "It's a shame you didn't
pull out the gun when the meal started.
then I would have
had that's says over
here he's upset that he didn't
forget he wanted to he wished he could
have forgotten so he could have eaten
okay so
so we learned the if a person had he
known he would have retracted. He
wouldn't have done it.
Maybe only then he brings a
carbon if if
knowing that he's about to be wouldn't
stop him
maybe. So in the case where he would
have stopped he's just hungry he if
somebody would have reminded him so he
would have stopped then he has to bring
a carbon in that
case what happens if a person swears in
his head thinks to himself you know I
got to go on a diet I swear I'm not
going to eat tomorrow that's it I make
avo I'm
not
oh I just saw caught the corner of my
eye, I saw this red in the turning of
the dove. So, I guess something special
is going on for Ari Simon. I see Maga.
Oh, but I see
it. Supposed to be a surprise. Oh, we'll
get there.
Maga
surprise.
So, it doesn't help to make a in your
mind. You have to actually articulate
it. You have to say it with your mouth.
literally to to say it out with your
with your how do you say enunciate
express enunciate express with your lips
it's not enough to express with your
brain verbalize
verbalize I like
express word verbalize verbalize
verbalize better
[Music]
verbalize when you do
What do you mean? What do you need?
Everybody argues on him. He's he's a
here. Let's continue. Oh, you're asking
on them.
Okay. Cuz it's between him and himself.
It's not between him and somebody else.
Maybe I'm just trying to answer.
Sometimes you when you deal with
somebody else I uh I meant this, you
meant
that. Yeah. We just had a mice like
that. Did did somebody quoted a price
and then he afterwards afterwards he
said well I forgot to tell you that it
doesn't include tips well is that or not
it's like I forgot it's a verbal I wrote
it down I didn't write it down it
becomes that's between Ruben and Shim
you yourself
you do from now on it's a in your head
maybe it's a maybe
it's listen to this over here says that
you could be in your heart and if you if
that's the case then we have a problem
with who says you can't say it says in
the with your lips says over here not in
your heart and then it says the next
word how do you know if you made up in
your heart to do something not with your
mouth how do you know that
against everything even in your mind so
it's
But wait a minute, let's first deal with
the contradiction in the
actual we start off saying that you
cannot commit in your
heart and then it says a second later,
how do you know that you could do it in
your
heart? No, that's not
a there's two things that a person
commits to say it out with his with in
his head. He says, I'm going to say it
in with my mouth. If that's the case
that then then the head doesn't count
because in your mind you said I'm going
to I'm going to verbalize it. I'm going
to express it. I'm
gonna verbalize that. That's the
verbalize. I'm going to express and
verbalize
it. I'm
sorry. He said that he's going to be
mighty with his lips. He wanted to say
it. At the end of the day, he didn't say
it. That doesn't count. That's not
that's not But
however, but what if he made up in his
mind, I am going to I'm making in my
head to do this thing. How do I know it
does
work? So, the bottom line is we don't
have a contradiction in the price. So,
one case is talking about that he wanted
to verbalize it. In the other case he
didn't but it does work if you think
about
it. Says it doesn't work if you think
about it. You need to verbalize
it. We could
explain. He wanted to say regular bread
but came out whole wheat bread or
whatever they call it today. Spelled
sourdough. Exactly. He he meant I'm not
going to eat regular unhealthy the white
bread the the the wheat bread and at the
end by mistake he said
barley bread sourdough so now he's
potter why cuz it's what he thought is
not what he said he thought in his mind
white bread and came out sourdough and
what he said is not what he thought
no but what if he thought in his mind
I'm not going to eat white bread, wheat
bread and at the end it came out of his
mouth I'm not going to eat bread that is
awah.
So what we're talking about here there
is a mixture of brain here thinking but
at the end of the day there there was a
verbalization and that's what is talking
about there is on the one that he
thought not the one exactly not all
bread only only on the one he thought
exactly so he thought to himself I'm I'm
not going to eat white bread at the end
he said bread so the bread means the
white bread that he thought so is kind
of masking that there is a little bit of
a brain thing going on here you use his
what his thought was but not not if he
didn't say anything at because he
verbalized. So we understand his
verbalization meant what he thought in
his mind which is only white
bread.
Okay. So this is amazing when it comes
to going to say something and you don't
say it.
Yeah. But not to somebody else. I'm sure
that doesn't right to yourself even to
yourself there would be a case of even
to individual if he wanted to say it and
he didn't say it but if he never wanted
to say it to anybody it was just his own
then works very good
okay this is a in the in says that the
words that come out of your mouth when
it comes to
uh giving to the mdash you better
keep. So all these people Yeah. I mean
as we're going to see in a second it
becomes very when a person
makes he he says I'm going to give
$25,000 to then he doesn't keep it. It's
it's problematic. But the
says that's
because he
spoke and how do you know if he only in
his mind he became all uh emotional
about something and he says you know I
better give these people I'm going to
give this alman a lot of money and and
then later on he cools off how do he
know but now we're not talking about
we're talking about how do you know
he's said it no
He didn't. He voted to himself.
I didn't know that. Okay. Didn't know
that. On the Jeep, what happened was on
the Jeep. So, Molandi says, "If we see a
kill," cuz it was getting already
towards the end. There's only uh, you
know, 20 30 minutes left to the Jeep
ride. The last final he says, "If I see
a kill, $1,000." So, Ai Kamyaskki
thought in his mind, "Okay, I'll also
give a,000." Then guy said, "I'll give
9,000." And because there was a total in
that one Jeep
12,000ish guy gave 4,500 on the spot and
then say
that Yasi Yasi was also on the jeep. Y
give a thousand. Okay. But he's saying
that it was just a
by the way I have to because we got to
start pushing this. The Hebrew Gomorrah
is coming out today basically and we're
printing how many copies are we printing
in Hebrew? thousand thousand the Hebrew
is very cheap actually compared to the
English. It's 100. It's 70 shekel per
per gumar because we're not going the
arts school route. We're doing the the
massa safetist like three
missas. If somebody donates 100 Hebrew
Gimbaras his name will be in the Hebrew
for Israel and we also we're looking for
uh close to $100,000 for the English.
That's how much it's going to cost us.
$100,000
faves. People ask why does MDY need
money? You get all these sponsorships
every day. $100,000. If anybody wants to
do uh dedication, we would greatly
appreciate it. Your name will be
inscribed in the art scroll gumar
printed as
is. And for one gimmar, you could change
a whole person's family's life.
Everybody in the family. One gimmar. You
could also donate one. There's nothing
wrong by in the Hebrew Shir is amazing.
How many people how many people gave you
money actually in this year and after
this year? The people lined up to give
him money. 20 people gave him money.
That's the mamish came. 200 shekel 200
shekel. A kid gave how much? 300 shekel.
A kid? No. Two kids gave you money? 100?
Yeah. One one kid one kid gave a 100
shekel out of his pocket. He took money.
He gave And another kid said he's gonna
give 300. That kid already gave pizza
before. Where is he? His grandfather's
not here. Huh? Thank you. Anyway,
everybody could be Misht if they want.
And by the way, anybody that just
thought in their head that they're going
to
be, they're in a big
big until you say it out of the lips.
No, no, no, no,
no. Is going to pay up every Okay,
that's fine. Anybody that thought in his
head that he's going to give and decided
not to go to get a or he'll pay for it.
[Music]
Sh. I'm just saying it's a problem. I
didn't
say be careful. What's your
name? Gross. Sounds like a famous name
from
where such
confidence. No, it's not. We're working
on. It took a long time to get
the
shi. Oh, not only does it say but it
also says in your heart whatever is in
your heart. says good. Very good. Okay.
So, we have a that tells you that if you
if you say it in your heart, you better
keep your your promise. Let's learn from
there to the whole
says of what's true, not the truma that
we always talk about the 1% and 2% you
give to the over here. We're talking
about the true of the giving to the
mishkuma. This is anybody that learned
any gar knows that anytime the garra
says I think anytime you got to ask got
to look but it just seems like it
anytime
says that is the the famous concept that
if the tyra wanted to teach you one
thing for the whole it would have said
it once all the needs to do is say it
once by one by one case by truma of the
b mikdash then I would learn to when the
tyra repeats something twice that means
only in these two places otherwise the
wouldn't repeat it but the next line is
always the
That's great if you hold they can't
learn how
to but if you say you could learn from
why don't I learn this concept to the
whole that if it's in your mind says it
doesn't work over here you see it works
by no you can't learn from there why
because it's you can't learn the simple
stuff from
something we're talking about a regular
can't learn a regular
says the mission
of this
is we learned this word for word
somebody swore he's not going to be a
mitzvah he's not going to shake a he's
not going to go
into and he and at the end he decided to
be a good boy and where fill in shake
potter he's not on
that maybe might be on but
not what if he
made he made to be to to wear it fill
and he didn't wear it also.
Why?
Because going to go back in the back and
forth and
review talking about a few days
before just a regular. A person says,
"I'm never going to eat carbs again in
my life." And he eats carbs. He's
over. So if you have a that said you
should do this and you swear not to do
it certainly you should
be I'm only saying the story because I
heard this from one of my I learned a
very and I heard some gishmakis from
them. I also got some gishmak zets from
them. So I'm going to say
this icing and
says, "No, he's probably not alive
anymore. He was a he's a Holocaust
survivor and this was 40 years ago." So,
and then he was like 80. So, even Yeah,
it doesn't. So, he said that
the made announcement he says, "I'm
giving tomorrow by after doning." So,
all the yakis showed up before doning.
So says, "Oh, you came early. I'll give
you the litbacks, they came on time to
the 8:30 minion." Hashem said, "Oh, you
came on time. I'm giving you the Tyra."
He said the showed up at 11:30. So he
said, "Oh, you get
kish. You kish." And then anybody
because he's kidish. She said, but that
the litvox they they think they own the
tyra and the ty has to go their ways. If
you wear a blue
shirt, it's not you're out out. You're
out. You're out. You're all
out. Everybody's invited to kesh. All
you have to do is eat a little kegle
said and then you're invited to and
that's the difference. Okay. Because
he's I'm allowed to say it.
Let me look at
the you never heard this thing. You
didn't go
to No, they they said it's not it's not
good with your Tina. Why? Bye. Somebody
who swears he's not going to eat pizza
ever
again. Any if you say I'm not going to
do something, you have to be able to say
I am going to do I am going to eat
pizza.
But when it comes to a mitzvah, you
can't go both ways. You can't go yes and
no. Because if you swear not to do a
mitzvah, you can't swear not to do a
mitzvah. You can't swear to go against
the So that's why doesn't
work. So we have a lot of like a lot of
words here to say a simple thing.
Basically, I
think it's
like if a person swears not to do a
mitzvah, but he didn't and he didn't he
didn't keep his he put he said I'm not
going to wear filling and he put on film
that
day. Here we have a he did a whole bunch
of stuff here. I better show
it just no there's a story in the news
now of a certain individual who's part
of the government and he was in jail for
a while so they asked him we heard you
started wearing tillin I he says no no I
didn't I didn't start wearing one time
one time they asked me to join a minion
so whatever don't don't be me so if he
says no no no I'm not I don't want to
wear tin
Sorry, I would think that he's talking
about In other words, the Tory is
talking about on a on a nonitzvah. If a
person makes a he's not going to do a
mitzvah, the doesn't apply.
shoe potter. Okay, this comes to exclude
um somebody swearing on a mitzvah. Now
we're just going to do the opposite same
exact thing.
I think if a person makes a he's going
to put on and at the end of the day he
didn't put on fillin maybe because he
broke same
thing for the bad and the
good only works on how do you say in
English not mundane uh what's a better
word optional optional okay optional
very good I like
optional this doesn't work on
mitzvah person says he's going to do
something really bad to himself. He's
going to eat really bad food. He's going
to eat
poison and he didn't do
bad. Oh, maybe he should be potter. I
would think that maybe it's also to do
bad to yourself. You're not allowed to
harm
yourself. If it's optional, you could
hurt yourself in optional.
Hey, this is an optional thing and
therefore you
are well it's a whole you're allowed to
hurt yourself you're not allowed to hurt
yourself even you're allowed to marry a
bad
woman harming yourself okay
different you're when we learned about
that's something else you know causing
giving yourself surgery plastic surgery
not for the for good purpose not a good
purpose but over here Somebody wants to
harm himself, do himself
bad. Says over here, according to this,
according to this,
you're the
works. Oh, but this is very
different
here. Guy wants to pull a lion's tail.
It's not a good thing. He swears he's
going to do
it.
Or eat a lot of
spinach. And this is you swear you're
gonna destroy somebody. Crack his head
open as the Gomorrah says mameshar says
crack his skull
open which is what's the
isser. Well to kill somebody is a little
bit of a is but also to smack somebody
in the face is a big
isser. How do I know that does not work?
Why doesn't it work? Because he already
the says it's
says the bad and the
good. You have to be able to do the act.
And since you're not able to hit
somebody doesn't work doesn't work on
harming somebody.
What said if you
don't like this?
Yeah.
Hey, just a quick story. It's not a
story that I I like very much, but
whatever. It might get a giggle or two,
so I'll say it. There's it's a true
story. There's a woman by the name of
Shiri. She was at a aim weekend. They
they take non-religious people and they
have these unbelievable amazing speakers
and uh she was very she was a fighter
the entire shab she's fighting with
these uh speakers back and forth back
and forth and uh after the shabas was
over similar to what we did in our trip
everybody got up to speak you know
everybody speaks for two minutes in fact
one of the people that was at the safari
said not not maximum person said that
was the most highlight the highlight of
their trip that those
speeches. Obviously, that person doesn't
understand what a cheetah killer is, but
okay.
Which reminds me, I saw a young couple
on a different safari. They came off my
plane. I'm like, "You were in the
safari?" The guy says, "Yeah." He says,
"I saw a kill." I said, "You saw a kill?
You had a camera?" He says, "I don't
have a camera." I said, "You went on the
safari without a camera?" He says, "No."
And he pulls out his flip phone and he
shows me a grainy picture of this kill.
like you couldn't see if it was a it was
a baboon or it was a tree, whatever. I I
don't know what it was. And then his
wife says, "I didn't see it. I turned
around." You turn you turned around for
I can't can't watch a kill. And then I
got Don't Don't worry. I got a Revitson
from Lakewood wrote me an email that I'm
I'm glorifying the kill and how could I
do that? And it's a big Okay,
whatever. I'm not going to go explain
it. Tea is tea. That's how it is. who
gave these people there and it was just
not glorifying it to see it to see the
thing. Okay, fine. We're not going to go
into V. Oh, so Shiri this lady at the
last last day at the at the at the
symposium.
What is it? The symposium. That's what
it's called when everybody gets
together. At the end they call the
symposium. At the end they call it the
symposium. I I I I even though Yeah, I
was there once. I was there once. I
highly people the
their is it's unbelievable. everyone
better than the next. They're great
speakers. Anyway, so this lady gets up
and she says, you know, after this whole
Shabas and arguing, fighting, I'm
convinced, is convinced. The only
problem is I'm not going to do even one
mitzvah. I'm not going to become one
thing. And she
said, I have a great life now. I don't
want to change anything. What you said
is all true. I I think uh um logically
and uh intellectually intellectually you
convince me but I I'm not changing it's
good for me. So he says, "Could I ask
you four
questions?" She says, "Yes." He says,
"Do you now believe in the She says
yes." Do you believe that gave me? Yes.
Do you believe that we should keep all
the mites in the Yes. Okay. The fourth
question I'm not going to ask you. Why
not? Why kids are I'll ask the audience.
She already says that she believes in
Hashem. She believes in she believes you
have to be kind the
mitzvah. But she says that it's good for
her. So if you were Hashem, how would
you get her to keep the mitzvah? So
everybody screams out, "Do bad to her.
Do bad to
her." So nine months later, she married
the Rasheed in Benbra and everything was
good. But I just thought it was
interesting how everybody scream out,
"She should have bad. She should have
bad." Oh, okay. You don't want bad, you
better start doing mitzvah. You know,
there's ways to be to force people into
doing mitzvah. You threaten them or
whatever. Yeah. I said I don't like the
story so much, but
whatever.
Okay. You don't have the right to hurt,
harm
anybody. What if I want to I swear I'm
going to give a gift to somebody. How
many times has it happened to us that we
thought in our head we're going to give
a gift to PL and then no it falls apart.
you have a lot of and you want just you
don't know what to get him kids nothing
happens but if you make a that you're
gonna give that's already in the it's
not you're giving a a guy that doesn't
need it as we
said that's your word over there so I
have a limo that if you make a to do
good to
somebody what's the the
what a lion going to break his head
open by the way that that doesn't work
it stop question if somebody says slap
me in the face I want to today I deserve
a slap I'm you if you slap me you slap
him or not you say no why not you say no
why
not his choice
you're one of the worst here let me ask
this
He already says what? What?
Mishna. He's from the weakest ones here.
[Laughter]
What does it say? What does it say in
the Mishna? What does it say in the
Mishna? Says that if he someone asks
someone. No, no. Say the words.
What line is it?
You know the words.
I know.
Yeah. What? No.
Potter. You're not
I don't remember. That's in. Yeah.
That's in. I'm just saying in in
Hel is somebody
says, "No, I was trying yesterday. I was
saying there's uh even the 10 year olds,
the 11, he's 12 years old. Even the
12-year-olds in the shar they know
stuff. Like I asked I asked what's Reboy
and the kid said and like I don't
remember what he said. Like I don't I
couldn't repeat the he was saying
yesterday. Yeah. So I made it up
like Ragly. Yeah. But that's for a
moment. Okay. If a person says smack me
in the face, forget money, not money.
you're not allowed to do it because at
the end of the day he's not really mo I
think that something like that. Then the
shiz to have a a karate match, you know,
a UFC
match. I'll go upon
him says here we have a nice
little How do you know that the
word is talking about optional stuff?
Maybe the is talking about a
mitzvah like what? Uh, I swear I'm going
to eat matzah. I swear I'm not going to
eat matzah and pes good and
bad. So, let's do this because it's a
little bit of a just a little bit of a I
wish I had this last
night.
Here's you can't see so well that it's
green is
yes. I'm doing something good. I'm
swearing that I'm that I'm going to eat.
That's very good. So basically there's
two things
here. Eating could be good and it could
be
bad. If I say I'm going to eat, it's
very good for my body. It's very very
bad for my nishama. So if I say I'm
going to I swear I'm going to eat on
kipper. Is that good or bad? How do I
view it? It's bad. So ma can't be that
I'm going to eat on. It must be that I
am going to eat on pes matzah. It must
be a mitzvah not a
mitzvah. We're trying we're going step
by step here. When a good and bad must
be equal. They must be on the same
playing field. They must be talking
about the same case. So let's talk about
good. Once we know what good is then we
know what bad is. Good cannot good
cannot mean that I'm going to eat and
and and and keep my weight and keep my
health even. that can be good. It's good
in a way. It's the gashi is good, but
it's terrible for the mitzvah. It's bad
for the nama. So therefore, good in this
case must be that I'm upkeeping a
mitzvah. I'm swearing that I'm upkeeping
a mitzvah of matzah. Says maybe means
I'm going to eat matzah pes. It can't
mean I'm going to
eat that for sure not. So it means keep
eat mats on pes. The problem is then it
has to be equal on the bed.
The bad has to be on the same
case. So it's not a mitzvah because we
already
said good is not
eating. It has to
be to keep pes not to undo but yes keep
pes. So ra also has to be on the keeping
not on the because ra and to has to be
in the same the same case. So, how do
you how do you have a case of bad that
you keep you the the case of bad must be
I'm swearing I'm not going to
eat because if you if you swear I'm not
going to eat matzah that's already
number one on the list that's to break a
mitzvah and we're not talking about
breaking mitzvah we keep saying keeping
a mitzvah so how do you keep a mitzvah
in the negative I'm not going to
eat guess what when you swear I'm not
going to eat what is that Good or bad?
Good. Who said good? You said good.
You're right. So that's not bad. It's
good.
You just said good, not bad. So then how
do you have
bad? That's the I'm putting you in a
corner. I'm explaining to you that the
only way to say a bad is to keep a
mitzvah. Well, if this bad is to keep a
mitzvah, then it's not bad. It's good.
You're keeping your mitzvah. So it's not
bad and good. The P can't be talking
about a mitzvah.
Yeah,
it's kind of simple. Now, it's kind of
confusing though. If you try to think
about these steps, I think we should do
it one more time because I I really want
to understand it.
Well, if you notice, I don't really
repeat stuff, but this one I think is
important.
This what it's in the
read. Not everybody's a genius here.
Here's the section of
geniuses. Arie, when he was 12 years
old, he's like this boy. What do you
want from us? Where the same words
you're saying on the screen? Just
[Music]
Okay, Ari, you explain it then. Let's
go. Come here. Explain it. Get over it.
Get over it and explain it. Okay, let me
explain. So, I'll explain it quickly.
I'm sorry for for taking your
time. The Gmorra asks perhaps the Pik is
talking about the good and the bad. The
and the P is talking about mitzvah. The
says, "I'll prove it to It can't be
because the ra and the t have to be the
same. They have to like everything else
in the like the safe have to be talking
about the same case. The the ra and the
t have to be talking about the same
case. What is the case of t? There's
only one case of t. Although I could
view eating when you eat food there's
two ways to view food. It could be good
in the sense that you're eating and
keeping your your health up, but
sometimes that's a really bad thing when
you're doing that on your kipper. So
when I swear I'm going to eat, it cannot
be talking about bad for the nama. It
must be that it's good for the
nama. So good for the nama is not a case
of eating. Good is eating. I swear I'm
going to eat on
Pesa once I know that which that we call
mitzvah not I'm going to eat matzah ones
you swear I'm going to eat and what's
the reverse of that what's the reverse
of to be mitzvah it can't be not to be
that's mitzvah so it has to be I'm going
to say a
negative that I'm going to keep a
mitzvah with a negative how I'm going to
say I'm not going to
eat so if That's the that's your bach.
There's a good and a bad the is I'm not
going to eat. But that's good. That's
I'm doing a great thing. I'm not eating.
I'm p how's that bad? That's good. So,
since this doesn't make sense, then it
can't be. That's what the P is talking
about.
Okay. You need good similar to bad. I
only went one one direction, but you you
get the
idea. Because we have a heish. They have
to be the
same. Just like the good is not in a
case where you destroy a mitzvah where
you say that you're going to
eat. So two, the bad can't be that
you're that you're going to eat that
that you you're going to eat that you're
not going to eat matzah. Sorry, you're
not going to eat
matzah. Oh, and if that's the case,
say then it comes out that's it's very
complicated to read
it. Then it turns out that the bad is
actually good and that can't be because
the P wouldn't be saying good and good.
The P is saying good and bad. You have
to come up with a
bad and then we just do the reverse.
So the whole the whole point is
the must be
not becomes
bad. So the Gar says check this out.
Well, what you're saying now will happen
also in aros.
Why? Hatava in this
case would mean I'm I'm going to eat.
I'm going to do something good. But in
food there's two types of food. There's
poison. There's deep fried chicken which
is bad for you and there's spinach.
There's there's there's there's poison
and there's good food, right? There's
even within the eating within good
there's bad and good. So, it has to be
that when I say I swear I'm going to
eat. Uh, how you say again? Optional. It
must be optional. Good food.
Huh?
[Music]
Spelled bad.
I spelled it. That's me. Yeah. How do
you spell it?
Alfud.
Udal. Oh, yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Okay. Yeah.
Yeah. Yeah. Udud. Okay, maybe Gary, you
want to add bunch of olives after buri?
No, no, don't add it. Don't add it. I
did it on purpose because it doesn't fit
over there. If you add the olive over
there on the top one, it's going to
knock the whole thing off. You could add
olives where they belong.
Fine. So, let's Oh, we're over here. So,
the bad has to be similar to the good.
It has to be in the same case. No, no,
no. Don't do now. Don't do now. Forget
it. Forget it. We got one here. One in
Okay,
Baraldi. So, leave it. Leave it for now.
No, leave it, Gary. Leave it.
[Music]
On all three.
Okay.
What? What' you say? Sorry.
Show me.
when chakras
we're starting at 8:30. Very good. Oh,
we got to turn the page. Fine.
So, we have to get through this. This is
the only uh and then we go back there.
So, the the bad has to be similar to the
good. In other words, we're talking
about healthy food. So, what is he
swearing? He swears he's not going to
eat poison.
No, no, I I didn't. So, he swears he's
not going to eat poison. That's good.
Yeah.
Again, in the in the optional, we have
the same problem. The the bad has to be
similar to the good. So, you has to be
talking about healthy food. So, what's
the negative? I'm not going to eat
poison. Not eating poison is a good
thing, not a bad thing. And you're
stuck. So
says we we established before that you
need the word to say that if a person
swears he's going to give a gift to his
friend he has to
give we're talking
about
optional because we're talking about a
mitzvah even let's so you're talking
about bad and good and you're going to
say that even harming your
fellow is is is is a
good then that doesn't make sense. Why
would I need a Pik to say that doing
good for your friend is awah? That I
need a Pik for that. If if breaking your
friend's head in half is aw. So
certainly giving him a gift is why do I
need something? So
if but anyway this is not extra. Why?
And if the is not extra so the whole
thing falls apart because I need it to
tell me that when the public says I
don't need to make a I don't need to
swear both in one shot. It's either or.
It's two different cases. How do you
know it's two different cases from the
word?
No, we're going to see later on. You
don't need a for that. It's obvious that
it's one or the
other. Says, as we're going to see in a
second, that you don't need a to
differentiate, but that you need a to
differentiate. So now the is not extra.
So I don't need So how do I know to to
help other people is considered if the
is not
extra? We had this gumar recently like
in Sanru
somewhere. How do you know that? When
the Torah says that cursing a parent,
how do you know you don't have to curse
both? It seems like from the gift it
says both father and mother. Maybe you
have to curse both of
them. You do
both. One or the
other. He says you don't need
uh no you do need. He
says, "Yeah, you
need says no, you don't need it's either
or."
So but according to you so over here we
using up the
says
yet we hold just to remind the real
quickly we had yesterday the day before
we have we have a which includes all the
mot is and then we have another
re so what do we say that it comes what
the miot only comes to exclude one type
which is the one the furthest thing from
any type of which is
not
so
now if you're talking about something
optional so the is not talking about the
is talking about optional and the the
furthest thing from optional is a
mitzvah but if the whole is talking
about is talking about a mitzvah
What what exactly are you going to knock
off? So, so just go to the Mishna and
then we'll start over there tomorrow and
hopefully maybe we won't catch up
tomorrow. What? Oh,
turning. Oh. Oh, we have a surprise
here. See in honor of our sons camel 12

review what weird
stuff weird
It's
like
say so says
look if if you can make a on optional so
certainly you should be able to make a
on a mitzvah said you should do the
mitzvah so why shouldn't the work so say
but it doesn't apply in a yes and a no
form and he'll
say to do good to a friend The Torah
says it works. I'm giving I swear I'm
going to give a gift to somebody. That
works. But in the reverse to beat up
your friend, it doesn't work. So you
see, you don't need to have the back of
the the the the positive and the
negative. Even though you're right, it's
not going to work in the negative. You
can't say, "I'm going to swear not to
put on." But the Torah says if you swear
to put on, it works.
Even
though it's not what's the opposite of I
will do I'll do good to my friend.
What's the opposite? Not that I'll do
bad. What's the opposite? I won't do
good par. But in a mitzvah, you don't
have that. There is no par. What's the
opposite of I will put on fillain? I
won't put on fill. So it's it's a
negative. Again, when I swear I'm gonna
give a $100 to my friend, what's the
opposite of that? not gonna take away
$100. The opposite is I won't give a
hundred but that's not a that's not
user. But over here since by mitzvah the
opposite of doing a mitzvah is not doing
that's bad. That's why it doesn't it's
not the same thing. Have a good have a
great day. We'll see you
tomorrow. Merit the of spreading Torah
