Good morning, Reb Boysai.
L'ilui nishmas Yimima bas Mordechai.
L'refuah shleimah Chano Belah bas
Sheindel Rifka. L'refuah shleimah.
By Moshe Hirsch, l'ilui nishmas my
grandfather Mordechai Eliyokum ben Dovid
Zvi Landau.
In honor of his yahrtzeit, he was from
the pioneers of modern-day Kolel who
went to Eretz Yisrael 60 years ago to
learn in Canada after he got married.
May his neshama have an aliyah. Moshe
Hirsch, we owe him a big hakaras hatov.
He runs the newsletter. If anybody wants
to be on the newsletter, I don't know
how to whatever. arhamerkaz. com.org.
I just made that up. But get in touch
with the oilam, it's good stuff. 14
pages of interesting things. Get to know
the oilam.
Different people say different divrei
Torah.
Uh Dave Carlebach's divrei Torah, two of
them.
By Hertzy Hasenfeld. He was a guest here
the other week. Big talmid chacham.
L'ilui nishmas Reb Naftali
I know this name. This is my
grandchild's name.
Reb Naftali ben Nosson Yitzchok Jacobs.
Meyer Jacobs' grandfather. That's my
son-in-law's grandfather. So Hertzy
Hasenfeld is my son-in-law's uncle.
By the Sacka family. Somebody sent me I
forgot to bring it here, but the Sacka
family also
uh they're on the cover of that famous
sefer that does the Yomi, the Rambam uh
whatever, one of those.
Sacka family, in honor of our father's
49th yahrtzeit, Yosef ben Salim. Also
somebody very familiar with. We the
grandchild, Salim, used to come to me
for Shabbos and many many Shabbosim. A
lot of you guys know him.
Salim, I did a I don't know if you
remember, I did a shinuy hashem without
his permission in shul. I changed his
name. I said his name can't be Salim.
It's like a Michael. It's like a Phil.
Salim is is is Arabic for shalom. We
changed his name, but he's masking for a
day and then it didn't work well with
his mother. May his neshama have an
aliyah.
MDY family sponsoring today's shiur
again. L'ilui nishmas Yerochmiel ben
Yisrael.
See, this is what happens when
Yeshua's not here.
This one didn't make it up somehow. We
needed two people to put the charts up
and they missed one. But still good.
Yerochmiel ben Yisrael, Yeshua ben
Boruch Nosson, and Henoch's brother,
Yosef ben Zalman. May their
neshama should have an aliyah.
Wow.
What are we going to do today?
A lot of gifts, Reb Boysai. This one is
a beautiful one. Check this out.
Gary.
Spacing out. Let me read this first.
To Reb Eliyan family, thank you so much
for He means the family, the MDY family,
I'm sure.
Thank you so much for bringing the
sweetness of Torah back into my life.
From Andrew Fuchs and family, Woodmere,
New York. New York. You got to see this.
You know what? I'm going to pop it open.
It's beautiful.
You took a picture and you you put it on
the
on the chat, but all these people on
YouTube need to see what's going on
here.
Here, look at this.
And
8-minute daf in MDY. It has a note here.
One is milchigs, one is not. Now,
they're both milchigs. Maybe No, no, one
is fudge. What is Hold on.
Chocolate inside, vanilla inside. All
ingredients Badatz Eidah Hachareidis.
Woo, comes with a hechsher.
Maybe cuz I said something. This is gift
number one.
Now, this is a surprise gift.
Mr. Kayak was in my house.
Nobody knows who he is. I could just say
he came, he brought me a m-
I should really read this maybe first.
Is this instead of an email?
Really? I'm opening up now. He told me
now.
Are you sure? Yes.
You know what it is?
Yes.
Okay, I'm not reading this letter. I'm
opening it Motzei Shabbos.
[Applause]
Gevaldig. You're going to have to tune
in. You're going to have to tune in
Motzei Shabbos.
Uh Talmidei chachamim go to the front of
the list. Here we have a big talmid
chacham from Lakewood, Yonosson Fine.
He's the brother of the rabbi in a shul
I go to a lot in Chicago, Reb Menachem
Fine, big talmid chacham. If this person
learns all day, Reb Elisha Shlita, we go
back a long way, you just don't know
about it. Now I do.
Our newest connection is that famous Eli
Trapper. You guys know Eli Trapper is on
Zoom. He's the one that reminds me that
I have to go to Shachris.
He's my favorite. He's his favorite
brother-in-law. We love all the
attention he gets from you on Zoom.
Although I can't claim to watch your
shiur, some of my sons do occasionally.
Uh da da da. I do however love catching
the classics. The one from Suchin, Mem
Daled, actually corrected a mistake I
recently made, the one that I dipped the
challah into the wine. He said he was
learning the sugia and now he learns it
differently.
Uh he's medayek from a Rashi somewhere
that I was right in my pshat.
What is this? Uh
That being said,
oh, he he has a kasha. What do you say?
No, no, I don't answer kashas.
Next. This is from Mr. Bobblehead.
There's a serious lack of singing in the
mesechta and I don't think we had any in
Eiruvin. Sing us a song. You're the
maggid shiur.
Did you steal one of those?
What is going on? The oilam is eating my
candy. Give that back now.
Okay, fine. You better leave me some.
Not Here, give me that.
I don't care that a bite is taken off of
this. I'm putting it back in the Okay,
fine.
Sing us a song. You're the maggid shiur.
And Ooh, we're late.
You know what? Real quickly, this one is
from Stan.
Thought you'd like to know I've
developed an obsessive-compulsive
disorder.
I come home from shul and I rush to do
the daf. If I cannot get it right away
or finish it, I become anxious.
That's such a bracha. I've mentioned to
you before that in the in the decades of
learning Gemara, I've never looked
forward to learning it until I attended
your shiur.
The medication for this type of anxiety
is to be on top of the daf.
Thanks for prescribing the cure, Stan.
All right. Gevaldig is stuff today.
Today is daf Mem Zayin.
And believe it or not, we are holding
the last last words of daf Mem Vov amud
Beis. Boruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu Melech
ha'olam sh' ho'eh b'divro. Amen.
Finished off yesterday.
Machlokes.
What happens if you cook, bake on Yom
Tov for Shabbos?
Yom Tov for Shabbos.
So they have a machlokes.
Reb Chisda says you don't say the
concept of ho'il. Ho'il maybe guests
will show up.
Just it's actually muttar to cook on on
Yom Tov for Shabbos.
Mid'oraisa it's muttar. You just need an
eiruv tavshilin mid'rabbanan for a
heker, but it's muttar.
And Rava says no, we need to come on to
the idea of ho'il, perhaps guests will
show up. I said real quickly is enough.
Kam einah, what if you
are at the last last moment of Yom Tov?
There's no ho'il of guests cuz guests
cannot show up within 30 seconds. But if
there's a heter to cook on Yom Tov, then
there's a heter. You could cook
according to Reb Chisda.
So that being said, says the Gemara, Eis
vei.
Kasha. Lechem HaPanim
ne'echal l'tisha. By the way,
does anybody know what the word palgus
means? It's a word they could show off
to your friends. They go to daf yomi.
You know what palgus is? What's palgus?
We had it.
Guys don't know what palgus is. You know
what palgus is? Palgus. Okay, we'll get
to it. Also, you'll have to wait till
the end of the daf to understand to get
the answer.
Lechem HaPanim. Uh the 12 loaves of
bread.
Some say it's shaped like this, a tefach
wide. What happens with the Lechem
HaPanim?
You bake it typically on Friday.
You put it you switch out the old breads
that were there for a week, you put them
into the shulchan, and these breads that
you baked on Friday stay there for a
full week until the following Shabbos.
How many days later from time you bake
it till time you eat it?
So
if a baby's born on Friday, the bris is
on Friday. That is
eight days.
So if it's one day later, it is nine
days. I'm just giving you a way how to
hop it real quickly.
So if we bake the bread, these are the
days of the week. This is Shin, Shabbos,
Friday, Thursday, Wednesday, Tuesday,
Monday, Sunday, Shabbos, Friday.
Typically, we bake the bread right over
here on Friday.
We put Here's the bread. We put the
bread into the shulchan right over here
on Shabbos, then we eat it eight days
later. So basically, we're baking the
bread nine days before we eat it.
Special mayse, it was fresh, smoke,
mamash beautiful. Nine days.
So the Gemara is just saying that
there's there's a possibility of baking
it 10 days before. And then 11 days.
That's it. When if there's Yom Tov or
two-day Yom Tov, then we have to push
off the baking all the way to Wednesday
sometimes.
What's the case?
Ne'echal l'tisha, l'asara, l'achad asar.
typically it's 9 days we bake it 9 days
before we eat it. Sometimes 10 days,
sometimes 11 days before we eat it.
Never goes more than 11 days.
We bake it on Friday before Shabbos.
Put it into the Let it sit there for 8
days
and then we eat it. The eat it so that's
9.
If it's baked on a Friday,
right over here on Friday then 9 days 1
2 3 4 5 6 7 8 9 9 days. I even put it in
here for you.
But what if Friday is
we don't bake the bread. We don't push
off. You hear this is the right here. We
don't push off.
We don't bake on
for Shabbos.
Okay. We don't bake on
So what do you do? You bake it one day
before
So we bake
it on Thursday.
Oh. Oh.
Schney Toyvin
Nechal
LeShabbos
LeChad Oso.
So if there's 2 days of
which fall out on Thursday Friday. So I
cannot bake the bread on Thursday like I
did before so I got to bake it on
Wednesday. If I bake it on Wednesday
it's 11 days before I'm eating it.
Ask Rashi a bomb question. It's very to
see this Rashi inside. We're not going
to go through the whole thing inside.
If you bake the bread
on Rosh Hashanah
right over here,
you bake it before.
So comes out
that 10 days later
from Rosh Hashanah is Kipper.
How?
If
you you have it over here, how do you
eat the bread over here? You can't eat
it. It's Kipper.
So it's more than 11 days. What?
It's 12.
So Rashi says because what happened was
in those days, why do we have 2 days of
Rosh Hashanah?
Because the
didn't come. They didn't show up. They
didn't They didn't make the the first
day of Rosh Hashanah. They came late. So
everybody has to
be careful and
do the first day of Rosh Hashanah Rosh
Hashanah. So what happened was
they came after
They came after
And then
it says Rashi even even if this is the
day by the way it says you could also
eat
you could eat the bread
and Rashi says a tremendous here. I
don't think I knew this
When it comes to the Mikdash, the night
goes by the day, not the day by the
night. In the Jewish calendar, the day
starts at night and the following day is
part of the night.
Not in the Mikdash. Mikdash Shabbos is
considered Shabbos day. See you
but
asks a beautiful here. We have to
understand Rashi.
If in fact
he says if the
came and showed you
on
They made If they made Thursday Rosh
Hashanah.
They made Thursday Rosh Hashanah.
So Rashi comes up with the whole thing
that you could eat
So
if the came on Thursday before
then what's the following day? It's not
Rosh Hashanah.
They came on Thursday so there's only
one day Rosh Hashanah that year.
If there's one day Rosh Hashanah that
year then they could bake the bread on
Friday.
So Rashi doesn't have to come up with
this whole idea that they baked you
could eat it Shabbos
Shabbos part of Shabbos. Okay. Anyway.
But I got to show you a shocker.
Something that really shocked me. I
never knew this
zero and I wonder if anybody knows this
Look at the end of Rashi.
Rashi
Schney 20 lines from the top.
Schney
starts all the way all the way at the
end. Look what Rashi says.
Schney Toyvin
Daft
Why did talk about Rosh Hashanah not
Pesach?
There was Lechem in Lechoi Yom
Schilgaluyos.
Says Rashi
unbelievable. We have to be in the words
though. You have to like learn it well.
Rashi says
that in the time when there was Lechem
Mikdash there was no second day of
in Yerushalayim.
What does that mean?
When does Lechem
Mikdash? There was no two day Pesach no
no two day Sukkos in Yerushalayim.
Meaning that when there's no Lechem in
him
you should do two days of
in Yerushalayim.
Even in our days. In our days it should
be two day
That's what that's what it seems like
from Rashi. Because Rashi's talking
about Yerushalayim.
Lechoi Yom Schilgaluyos in Yerushalayim.
There was two days of Rosh Hashanah
by Lechem Anyway. That's how a lot of
people want to be this. What?
We bring them all into
these Americans. But guess what?
I found something out.
That the second day of
here in Yisrael
there are those that are
not to do
not to open up the stores. The says you
shouldn't do anything. He There's a
that says that if you keep the second
day of in Eretz Yisrael
will come earlier. I thought it's a
joke. The second day. We My wife only
moved to Eretz Yisrael because of the
second day of so she could do
to be the desire.
Anyways the the was
not to do. You know you knew about this
The
is shaking his head
okay.
I think for me is a big
I do have to say that
points out that if you
the second day of
in
here in Eretz Yisrael you're about
So he's saying you should be
Don't open up your store. Don't get in
your car and drive around. Don't do
anything.
Don't turn on the fire.
But don't but don't don't make a
Don't don't don't bring
Wear your
Well the you wear in
What?
Right. You don't keep it as You keep it
as you're on on
It's not a to the
No
Well you could. You could go if you walk
to the zoo it's fine. All right. Anyways
just thought I'd point that out.
Says the
[Music]
Anyways we're in the middle of a
question here.
So why can't you these
things over here?
These breads,
why can't you make it on Rosh Hashanah?
Make it on Rosh Hashanah. Why do you
have to do it on Wednesday?
It's
you're baking on for Shabbos. What's the
problem? We just said according to Raba
I'm sorry
you don't need to come out to
You should be able to bake a bread no
problem on
for Shabbos.
The
Schainu Shabbos
Viyami
not According to
that you could do you could bake on
Shabbos no problem. You don't need you
don't need any
Lechoi
Amarlay and that's what the doc was
saying over here.
Schvus Tiru. When you're baking on Rosh
Hashanah for Shabbos the next day,
great. But you're baking for Shabbos the
next week so you could eat. What are you
asking? I'll say I see a good question.
Why?
Yeah but you're not being You
already you want to be
When it falls out on you should be able
to Sometimes you don't be
do it on Wednesday.
But they ask a good question. It's for
the next day.
It's for the
to put in the next day. Yes there's
there's a part of it that you're eating
over here but it's still a to put it in
the for a whole week. Okay.
I could
Schvus
So he says an idea. I could push off if
it's for immediate purposes but not for
8 days from now.
Ben Azgai. Ben Azgai was a He was a Ben
Azgai. Doichess
Yom
You could push off
even though in other words you could
bake the
on
even though you're only going to be
eating it 9 10 days
10 11 days later.
And you don't do it on Yom Kipper or
on Yom Kipper.
Maikel But according to him your doesn't
work. How could you be if it's only 10
days later?
So that says Playgi
Schvus Tiru. Schvus
Lo Hitiru.
Umarsuva Schvus Lo Hitiru. And Ben Azgai
says no.
Even a a far away
Schvus of of of of of baking today on
Yom Kipper for Shabbos and the Shabbos
isn't 10 days from now. I'm allowed to
do it. Most of
Same kind of question.
Schtei The two breads you bring on
together with the
on
Ein Loise.
Lo Mishnayim
These breads, you make them erev Yom
Tov.
You eat them on the second day of Yom
Tov. So, it's either two or three days
away. K'eit tzav.
The second day of Yom Tov. So, if you
you make it erev Yom Tov, so it's two
days away.
And if erev Shabbos is erev Yom Tov is
Shabbos, you can't bake erev Yom Tov.
So, you have to bake it one day before
that, on Friday.
I'm sorry, on Thursday. So, you have You
bake it on Thursday.
Um Sorry. Friday, you bake it on Friday.
Shabbos is nothing. It's just a regular
Shabbos. And Sunday is Yom Tov.
So, it's three days before.
It says m'forash, you can't push off Yom
Tov to bake
And if you say that you're permitted to
bake on Yom Tov for Shabbos,
if you're allowed to bake on Yom Tov for
tomorrow's Shabbos,
so why can't you bake the bread on
Shavuos for Shavuos?
What's the problem?
On the first day of Shavuos, you should
bake the bread.
Rashi just sticks in there that there's
no hoyel here. Hoyel. This guest Over
here, we're not talking about guests.
We're talking about the breads of the
Beis Hamikdash or that you could eat it.
Forget about guests. Hoyel, you can eat
it. You can't even eat it. It says
Rashi, because you have to wait until
the korbanos are shachted. Okay.
So, in the famous pasuk of oichel
nefesh, it says
[Music]
Who's allowed to do oichel nefesh? Who's
allowed to cook on Yom Tov? Lachem. For
the usage of your own personal use. But
not for the use of the Beis Hamikdash.
You don't have a heter. Nowhere in the
Torah does it say you could bake on Yom
Tov for Beis Hamikdash. It says you bake
on Yom Tov for yourself,
for your guests, not for the Beis
Hamikdash.
Doicha is Yom Tov. No, we just said
the R' Shimon ben Gamliel holds R'
Shimon ben Nasan holds
you could bake on Yom Tov. It's not a
problem.
So, how is he going to explain this
pasuk? How can you bake on Yom Tov? It
says m'forash in the pasuk, ach, lachem.
You cannot bake on Yom Tov for the Beis
Hamikdash.
He learns this word completely
different. You could bake for the Beis
Hamikdash. Lachem just means for a Jew.
It has to be for a Jew, not for a
non-Jew.
They discuss very interesting stuff.
What if you have somebody that's
becoming a ger?
We have We have people that are becoming
geirim on Zoom.
Kind of ger.
Every Shabbos Yom Tov, they spend by by
frum people. And now you're making food
on Yom Tov for them.
It's a big problem.
You're not allowed him.
According to this manoma.
No, that's that's uh you're adding.
Okay, fine.
Yeah.
Why not?
And by you, you make it on Yom Tov.
It's fresher, better.
Shtei halechem. I don't know. Shtei
halechem doesn't say that about.
But even even even Lachem Aponim says it
about.
It's interesting. If somebody's over,
let's say he has a guest, he makes him
He figures, "Okay, I have a chashuve
guest coming. He's in the process of
doing becoming a ger." The wife wants to
be nice to him, and she knows he likes a
certain steak. So, she prepares a steak
for him. That should be ossur.
What do you do now?
Only for him.
Yeah, only one steak.
It's a problem. So, what do they say?
The thing R' Shach says that he should
eat it.
Cuz if he eats it, he's m'galeh
afterwards. The Gemara says that
according to R' Chisda,
you see that uh
if if a guest doesn't show up, you eat
it yourself, then it's m'galeh m'afreia
that it's okay. So,
over here also, you should eat it in
order not to be over. Otherwise, you're
over.
Anyway, zagt the Gemara,
R' Chisda
gave this over. Rashi goes into explain
that explained it to him beautifully, to
explain it that In other words, he was a
a bar chochi, this R' Avaha. He's a
talmid chacham. He understood the
question. It's a very interesting
question. Look at this question.
It's a riddle. It's really a riddle. The
Shas is full of these riddles. How's it
possible that a person is related to his
mother's this, and then the the same
person is his grandfather? Or how's it
possible that a person with one action
is over on eight aveiros?
Eight aveiros.
So, this is the sugia of choresh telam
echad. If you take you plow a field, as
you plow, you're over eight aveiros.
How? Think about it. How's it possible?
You're You're writing the Gemara, it's a
riddle. How can you be over eight
aveiros
in one shot?
So,
this is not all eight. There's some of
them. Gary, you got this? Maybe Maybe
you should uh
zoom in a shtikel a loch. But you you
could walk slow. It's fine.
You have
an ox and a donkey.
Right there, right there and then,
you're over
on
one aveira.
Shor v'chamor. By the way, I had a
different picture. I thought it was
cool, but whatever. Even if you do, cuz
there was a Gemara in I forgot where in
Chulin in Arachin,
that if somebody plows with a don- with
a an ox and a bird.
So, I had a nice picture of that. And
also, the Gemara said an ox and a fish.
If you go next to the river and you grab
a fish. You remember that Gemara? Fine.
It's any two types of things.
So, here you got this. Now, this ox
was designated as a korban.
Designated as a korban m'meilah.
If you use it, you're over on using a
shor for a korban.
And this one right over here, this
donkey, you cannot bring as a korban,
obviously. So, it's for bedek habayis.
That's meilah. So, now when you take
these these two guys, you're over on
three.
Korban, meilah,
Happens to be
you're in a
cemetery.
So, what's that to do with you? Cuz
you're a kohen.
And not only you're a kohen, you're a
nazir.
So, just for you being there and doing
the charishi, you're over on two for
nezirus and tumah.
It happens to be that it's Pesach
and it's shmita.
Okay?
But
it's Yom Tov. Not Shabbos. Shabbos is
not a problem, cuz Shabbos
you don't get malkus. We're talking
about malkus. Shabbos, you'll get misah.
That person will get misah, not you.
That person will get misah.
In order to get malkus, it has to be on
Yom Tov. And there's one more. K'layim.
So, what's inside?
Huh?
I said nazir, no? Yeah. I said the kohen
is a nazir in the Beis Hamikdash.
Says the Gemara,
so he sent with R' Avaha bar Avuna, me
amrinan hoyel.
Over here, you see from this amazing
question that you don't say hoyel. Why?
What not? Says
yeish choresh telam echad v'chayiv alav
mishum shmoneh aveiros. It's possible to
get eight malkus in a row.
Hachoresh b'shor v'chamor.
He's with the ox and the donkey
together.
V'heim mukdashim. And they designated
for kodesh, as Rashi explains, not
as you think in the Gemara, but one is
for a korban and one is for bedek
habayis.
U'ch'layim bakarem. Now, it's very
important that Rashi said that. Anyway,
not because a donkey can't be a korban,
but because it has to be separate
aveiros.
Cuz I could also bring a fish and a and
and another this, and I'll be over three
right there. No. Has to be separate
lavin. Different lavin I'm going for.
Not the same lav three times.
But that what then then then that's
exactly what I just answered. Then you
wouldn't be over two. You'd be over
meilah on the other one, but I'm over
another another issur, another pasuk
Rashi brings.
It's called um lo sa'avod b'v'chor
shorcha.
That's nothing to do with with with
meilah. That's using a korban.
I want to get to eight different lavin.
V'ch'layim bakarem. Oh.
Right over here, you don't see it, and I
couldn't put it in, but there's some
seeds here.
That by you
No. No. No. No. You can't zoom in. Don't
worry, Gary. I I didn't put it in. I
purposely didn't put it in.
It wasn't
So, by you going through with the plow,
you're mixing the seeds into the
vineyard.
A lot of things are going to go wrong,
cuz Yeshua's not here. He doesn't even
hear me, but whatever. You should just
know
know this and know that.
There's a vineyard in the cemetery. And
there's a kohen plowing here, and he
happens to be a nazir. U'shvi'is, it
happens to be shmita.
B'Yom Tov. Only on Yom Tov, not on
Shabbos, does this apply, because on
Shabbos you get skilah, not malkus.
Kohen and the nazir. A beis atumah. It
happens to be a cemetery.
So, what's the question?
V'e amrinan hoyel. So, I'm talking about
hoyel. What's hoyel? Since Since this
and this far-fetched thing is going to
happen. Could happen.
Uh somebody's going to What was the last
time a guest knocked on your door
unannounced on Yom Tov two hours before
shkiah? Never happened.
But since it's possible that a guest
could show up, so m'meilah, I'm allowed
to cook right now. Isn't that a
far-fetched thing?
Here's even a further fetched thing.
So, I don't have eight.
I only have seven. Why?
What if I happen to bump into
a bunch of dead birds that were shucked
it and I have to do kiss it down after
cover the blood. How do I cover the
blood with the with dirt? I need dirt. I
need to soften up the dirt.
I'm not going to go into the answer, but
there's major question here.
Even
even if you shucked it a bird and you
need dirt, you can't plow your field to
get the dirt.
So, how could you even make that into a
hole? Okay.
Talking about stones.
Pointy stones, regular stones. Let me
show you that. Oh, I say let me show you
that. Let somebody tell me.
But I want to go to the allies.
There's a bunch of stones here.
You can't do kiss it down with stones.
You know, there are stones that you
could do
if you
as the guy says
the culture.
You could grind them down.
The higher according to this guy
tomorrow, you could do kiss it down with
baby powder.
Talc. Talc is a stone, no?
Talc powder. Take the talc and you
should be okay. Look higher. I don't
know. I never seen anybody take the baby
powder.
There's going to be a lot of extra baby
powder now from Johnson & Johnson. They
don't sell it anymore. You get it for
you know, the the shuckers. They could
What
do you mean you're going to grind it
down? You know how to grind on Yontif?
What's grinding called in Hebrew?
Tycoon.
Says the guy tomorrow,
we're talking about Esther. Yeah.
Oh, you mean to turn the page? Yeah.
You're just spacing out. No, I'm
You you're spacing out. You're smoozing
on the chat again.
We just turned to the base sponsored by
Gedaliah Fenster. The full
of your
Daniel Ben Tova Bashar
is not a joke. 14-year-old just went
through a bone marrow. Should have a
full slimer.
I just want to stop here for a second. I
see Remoysha Hersh is on. Mark Brown,
shalom aleichem Mark Brown. How are you?
Who else do we have?
Much of Hamburg.
Guys, you got to come on. Yitzy Shapiro.
What did I think about Yitzy Shapiro the
other day?
Something about
a lecture in Chicago. I don't remember
anymore. Okay.
And Simon Cohn, I got to talk to you
some because I'm on this new diet, I
don't have that thing anymore. So, it's
the diet. It's fine. We'll smooze
afterwards. Not in front of everybody
here.
So,
we'll just try to figure out why does he
need
We have a hole here.
Hole and he needs the dirt to cover the
blood that if he finds a bunch of I
don't know when the last time you were
walking in the street you found a bunch
of shucked it chickens that need to be
covered blood.
But we're going to go with the furthest
fetched thing ever and say that your
your plowing the field is not a big deal
cuz since you need it
the guy is trying to to describe when do
you say since when don't you say since?
So,
you know, I'm just thinking now also if
there's metal if you grind up metal we
learned maybe it was gold. If you grind
up gold
you can use it for you got to be a
meshugana.
But you could use it for I guess Trump.
That's what Trump uses for kiss it down.
Grinds up gold, gold everything.
Did you see my toilet?
Gold faucets, gold this. All right.
So,
again, since I could
grind it
in a weird way
but are you not allowed to grind in a
weird way
but we're talking about the to get
Marcus. Not like those kids.
Remember I told that story of the kids
were trying to turn on a light on
Shabbos with their shoe. They're trying
to see who could hit the switch with the
shoe cuz it's a yard.
Okay, we're not talking about that.
That's a problem. But we're talking
about if a guy did it
he's not over the
so how is he going to get
eight
Marcus?
We're talking about a rocky place.
So, it's rocky then you just ruined it
for yourself.
How is he planting here? How did he do a
climb?
So, I'll try to get out of it. It's it's
tough on top. It's softer on the bottom.
The table
but I need to get to the bottom to get
the soft dirt. So, maybe I shouldn't be
any I shouldn't be over anyway.
All right. Anyway, so we're done with
that.
Hello my my brother
so says my brother Bettino.
We're talking about mud.
Bettino by Israel.
But you can't plant the mud.
So, we're talking about mud so I can't
do
kiss it down.
But since it's wet mud, I could plant in
it.
So, here's time a riddle for you guys.
Riddle mood. If you are a magic here
preparing in Yummy
how would you connect this that we just
learned
to the Yummy?
10 seconds.
That was the struggle I had. How do you
connect this to the Yummy?
I'll give you a I'll give you a hint. It
has to do with a a green kayak. Now, I
just messed it up. I ruined it for you
guys.
I want to tell you like this.
This guy of tell him a hood
obviously applies also to missus. Do the
reverse missus.
There's a possibility of a guy giving
doing a doing a missus
and he doesn't understand the
ramifications that he has. This is I
told this to to Mr. Kayak yesterday.
You give a kayak to kid and like what?
And there's a hundred people around the
world that are learning the better and
and stronger because of that. They feel
connected. They feel
that we're part of a that's doing such a
thing.
So, yes
the guy does one one missus it's
actually eight missus. It's a thousand
missus and and missus is much more. You
don't know where it goes. Anyway, that
was my um
You got to think weird like that, no?
So, the guy tomorrow
huh?
I got a I got a I got a stamp of
approval from Judah. Thank you. I
appreciate new a song. Bob wants a song.
Should give us a song right now. We have
7 minutes. What?
Oh, oh, let me do let's hear.
He's singing a missus missus.
Says the guy tomorrow
I'm a guy get a
lot of
the way for you. So,
we're we're in the theme of riddles. How
is it possible that a guy cooks a couple
of foods and he's over on five different
levels?
I had a tremendous host
of getting this picture from from our
very big time of in-house shuckers.
Remember Weissfish from Manchester
watches every single day. I believe he's
on Zoom. I don't know if he's on right
now. He sent me this picture.
Here he is. You can zoom in on this
Gary, please. With a
in his hand. Beautiful. If anybody wants
to know what a looks like.
Here's the piece that he retrieved from
Yes, his beard matches his his attire.
I'm not joking. I know him personally. I
I I spoke to him in learning.
Big big time of him.
This looks good. This piece?
You take that and you shuck it.
And you throw it into
a a pot of milk.
On Yontif
and you eat it like a fish.
So, you're over on five levels. Here you
go.
Two categories as the guy tomorrow is
going to explain.
One is you ate a fish. Oh, that's a big
problem. Big no no.
Can't eat a fish.
It also happens to be that the
that piece of
fish points that right away. Yes, the
you have to say that's a whole different
that it does is it considered as
considered a bone that
has no uh
It's not food. Okay,
it is food. It's
so you're over on two. Now also you
cooked the fish.
You can't cook a only for
that's not allowed.
So, you cooked the fish you're over.
Marcus. You hear you can get Marcus for
cooking a fish.
And
you cooked
cuz it has three of them.
Number one is like we discussed the
other day.
A
and a no. Says like the guy
tomorrow
three times. So, you're over on
eating it but you also have a lot of it.
What's the fifth one?
That's today's that's tomorrow's a
little bit. We're going to go into it.
We'll see how much we could get.
Says the guy tomorrow
the like
like
the guy tomorrow I need somebody to pay
attention here. If I skip a word or two,
I'm getting too many of these emails.
You skip one word, you skip two words.
No volume.
They're scared that when they get to the
see my on the yacht, we're not going to
let them on because they they didn't
finish. There's one more word on on on
on both. You know, you got to be
careful. You do.
That's not our job. It's not our fault
that he has COVID. Does does he have
COVID?
What?
We're going to be on the same boat.
We're all going to be on the same boat.
Yes,
I just saw yeah.
Correct. But that action I hear.
And when you came to the base of
and you you became your another, when
did that happen? You didn't just fly out
of a helicopter.
What? Did it happen a minute before?
It's It's not be vasak. It doesn't have
a It means like in the Doing that
melacha causes you eight malkos.
I don't know that's to be the same
millisecond. What? The kind of arrived
and started plowing like he didn't walk
into the base of fires before.
Isn't
No, yeah.
But, the point is here's a riddle. How
could you when I got to five lavin by
eating it? How do I eat it? I had to
cook it. I had to this it. I had to that
it.
The
like of Did they speak about it? Let me
know. The like of mevashel basar
b'chalav.
The like of oichel basar b'chalav. The
like of Here's the fifth one. The like
of havarah.
He's over for making a fire, a flame.
Now, obviously
a flame on Yom Tov.
Okay. So, I'm just going to tell you at
the end of the day
if you go to the end of the sugia, it's
that he used the wood of hekdesh. It's
not this. We're going to take this
havarah out and try to fit the fifth one
in.
Says the Gemara, "Vi amein hoyil and if
you say the concept since it's possible,
listen this will happen, the guest could
show up."
Why
is he over on the fifth one? Hoyil
b'chazal sarka. I need to use it for
myself. I made a flame, you're right. I
What did I cook now? Gid hanasheh.
But, in two hours from now I need that
same fire to make an omelet. So, it's
okay?
Amar lei, "You're right. Apikavara
v'ayil gid hanasheh shel nevelah. Let's
Let's change it. We're talking about
another issur, nevelah. This gid
hanasheh happens to be from a dead
animal."
That's the bit. Says the Gemara, "Amar
Rabbeinu Kehilah b'Shnei Malchuyos shel
bishul
That doesn't work."
Nevelah would be in the red category.
Gid Eating gid Eating basar b'chalav
Eating a nevelah. But, there's only two
in the first category.
There's three in the second category.
How do I know this?
He says, "Reb Kehilah b'Shnei Malchuyos
shel bishul There's three in the second
category and two in the first."
The issur shel shaal issur
This category should be in third. Ela
apikavara v'ayil atzei muktzeh.
We got to be talking about wood that's
muktzeh. What's muktzeh? It wasn't
prepared before Shabbos.
We know about muktzeh. We always think
muktzeh is derabbanan touching a pan or
that. No, muktzeh is deoraisa.
Or muktzeh deoraisa? Amar lei, "Yes."
Right now we're saying in muktzeh
deoraisa to fit it in. We're going to
say muktzeh not deoraisa.
D'ksav, "V'hayah bayom hashishi
v'heichinu es asher yavi'u." You have to
prepare before Shabbos.
V'az hu asur b'melacha.
Not only that, you get malkos on it.
Why? Milisa s'asik melacha.
Says you can't do any melacha so you got
two things.
So, that's the fifth lav, muktzeh. You
took wood that wasn't designated for
fire on Yom Tov. You just You found it
in the forest on Yom Tov and you took
it. That's muktzeh d'oraisa.
Amar lei, "V'at hu d'amris B'meinei Rav
Nachman de you yourself told me that's
not true." Amar lei, "B'meinei Rav
Nachman de asar chazirah d'hunah." He
sent me may offer. He took a
sheep. He wanted to bring a korban on
Yom Tov. Where do you get it from?
Undesignated. He found it
roaming around in his field somewhere,
but it wasn't designated. Didn't think
about it before Yom Tov. U'shchatei
tamid on Yom Tov
and he slaughtered it as a tamid. Korban
tamid is a olah.
V'at amris Amar Rav Nachman
Then there's a whole pasuk here.
There's a pasuk in Yechezkel that says,
"V'seh achas min atzoyim min hamusaim
min mashkei Yisrael l'mincha l'olah."
So, the Gemara is going to take every
word and derive something from it.
Seh v'lo ayil b'char. Seh means
a sheep that could be a male or a
female. Zachar u'nekeivah.
Mimila, it cannot be b'char. B'char is
only a zachar. So, mimila it can't be a
It can't be a b'char, when you bring a
tamid it can't be a b'char, firstborn.
How do I know it? From the word seh.
Achas Or from the word one I learn v'lo
ma'aser.
Take Every 10th animal is ma'aser
beheima.
You can't bring it as a korban.
Echad means it should be by itself.
Okay. And this came from 10.
Says the Gemara, "Min atzoyim."
From the sheep. V'lo ayil kal gas.
Sorry, palgas is the last last word.
Whoever left now.
Palgas is a sheep that's not a keves and
not a ayil. Meaning, from month 12
until 12 he was a keves, from 13 on he's
a ayil. In between 12 and 13 is a
palgas. Okay. Palgas. Now I can show off
to your friends. Go around asking
people.
Min amusaim.
What's min amusaim? From 1 to 200. What
does it mean?
Mamesh doesn't make sense. Now the pasuk
is talking about nesachim.
Min mo'aser shetei me'os shetayim babar.
So, min amusaim teaches us
mikan l'orlah sheb'teilah b'me'ah
v'esrim.
Bittul b'rov When it comes to orlah,
fruit that's less than three years old
is one in 200, not like trumah one in
100.
U'mashkei Yisrael Says Rashi means the
sud of Yisrael. Min hamutal l'Yisrael.
Something that's permitted to a Jew.
Mikan amru, "Mevi'in nesachim min
hatevel." You can't bring the nesachim,
the libations, the wine that you're
pouring on the mizbei'ach, it can't be
from something you didn't take trumah
u'ma'aser.
Yachol ayil min hamuktzeh?
Ah, here goes the point. Maybe I would
think that you can't bring something
that's muktzeh.
Wine that I didn't designate. I said I'm
not going to drink from it. I put it on
the side. I'm I'm I want to age this
wine for three years. Maybe that's the
bit. Amar Rav Mattisyahu Gufa garum lei.
Amar Rav Mattisyahu Gufa garum lei. It
has to come from within.
Issur gufa, not because I decided I'm
not going to use it. Yatzah muktzeh
she'ein issur gufa garum lei. Ela issur
d'avar acher garum lei. V'amar Rav Issur
muktzeh deoraisa.
How could I make this distinction
whether the issur comes from within
itself or this came from external per If
muktzeh is muktzeh and it's deoraisa, I
can't make such a distinction. Mali
issur gufa mali issur d'avar acher.
Let's just stop over here. It's smack in
the middle of the question. Have a
wonderful day.
Noam.
Shema kolenu k'shuvoi ad Adonai.
Adonai b'koli tina k'shuvoi kol d'chakin

Im avoinu

oimnim bein bayom v'shomrim l'tziyon.
[Music]
What's going on, Reb Boisy?
Shkoyach, Reb From. I love the pictures.
Now I can use the gid hanasheh
Whip out that Avraham Meisels picture.
Cheilev? Avraham Meisels. Shkoyach. I
really appreciate it.
15 years ago I had a shochet. Yeah, you
know him, Andrew. Yael Ray was in my
shiur
and he One of the best things ever, he
brought me a lung.
And I blew into it like Oh, we did it at
the at the shchita also, but it was so
beautiful. In the middle of shiur pull
out a lung and it blew up like
unbelievable.
It was great.
Yeah.
What's that word you said? What word?
What I didn't hear the word. It has to
be what?
Yeah.
Ah, matzmiach.
Very good.
So, but so maybe you can be matzmiach in
gold.
Ah.
So, it's only gold.
It's only
Not every metal. Ah, I remember
something. Yeah.
Only gold.
Af reshav.
Listen, if you have to do the mitzvah,
Toisfos talks about it here that he's
concerned that by the time he goes home
to get to get offer, it's going to be
nivla in the ground and he's going to
miss the mitzvah.
So, if that's the situation, you have a
gold watch, it cost $20,000,
you you toichen it immediately. You got
to do the mitzvah. Listen, you got to do
it mitzvah is a mitzvah. Doesn't matter
how much it cost. Gold not That's what
you have available,
you do it.
A rebbe would do it in a second, in a
heartbeat.
One minute. So, is the gid hanasheh It
looks like a bone almost. Maybe it's
just in the picture. It's It's a It's
It's soft, no?
Yeah, but that's not what it looked in
the picture.
Yeah. It mamesh looks like a bone.
This meat is kosher.
Could you tell me what it what's in that
box, please?
I think you told me I could open it
today. I should have.
No, but only for Sefardim. Only for
Sefardim.
Yeah, American Americans No, I'm saying
Ashkenazim usually don't have the the
tradition.
A lot of Americans go there needed. They
think I also did once.
No, he said he will watch that. Yeah.
[Music]
You got it?
What did you say? What was the answer?
Yeah, what?
Yeah, give all the give all the good
stuff. Give all the good stuff. What You
got a thousand points for that. A
thousand points.
Listen, they they have a service they
have a service that they'll bring a
Slurpee from 7-Eleven from Monsey all
the way to Eretz Yisrael.
It's $22,000 and 59 cents.
It'll come It'll come cold. They'll put
They'll put it in dry ice.
They could ship it with the with the
vaccines.
