As we begin thinking of help of the upcoming Siyum Hashas, now just 1 year away, we asked ourselves, what could possibly be an appropriate way to mark such an a moment? After all, how do you adequately show appreciation to someone who has spent years showing up every single day without fail helping tens of thousands of Yidden learn Torah, grow in Torah, and stay connected to Torah? And then it hit us. Over the past 7 and 1/2 years, together we have had the privilege to complete Torah Shebaal Peh. What could be more more fitting than marking that achievement with the completion of a Torah Shebichsav? With that in mind, we are excited to announce a project that we hope will unite the entire MDY family. One year from now at the Siyum Hashas, we plan to complete and dedicate a safer Torah for MDY in appreciation of Rabbi Eli and everything he has done for this incredible community. And to underscore the significance, as Rabbi Eli just mentioned, Rabbi Yossi Klein flew in here, of course, on his own dime for under 24 hours, maybe even less than that, to help to be here today to help launch this campaign. That alone speaks volumes of what MDY has become and how much this community means to so many people around the world. >> The safer Torah is not simply a gift. It's a symbol of our collective hakaras hatov. It's a way of saying thank you for the countless hours, the endless preparation, the daily consistency, the inspiration, the friendship, and the unwavering commitment that Rabbi Eli has shown to every one of us.
