>> Good
morning boys.
>> [cheering]
>> Welcome. Welcome to all the guests.
A tremendous mazel tov here in MDY.
One of the first people in the daf,
Avigdor Yantzi, his son, Zev, who's a
part of this year, had his first
boy. Today is the bris. So, it's Avi's
first
an uncle, and we have the zaida.
The alte zaida.
The alte zaida. One alte zaida is over
here.
Avigdor Yantzi's father, and the second
one, Dr. So, it's the ganze MDY as a
whole. And we have the uncle somewhere.
Where's the uncle?
He sits in the seat over there, shy and
all that.
And we have Eli. Eli, the guy
who invented YouTube.
The reason YouTube was created.
Don't miss out on an opportunity of a
lifetime sponsor perek or a daf.
The MDY official edition Maseches
Chulin, volume two.
Only three prokim available. Half the
dafim are already sponsored.
Yishar koach to all those who sponsored
volume one. It's getting better and
better. Uh the good news is that we have
permission for volume two, which is Eilu
Treifos, to put in all those live
pictures from
Kol Halashon. You'll see
as you saw yesterday, some of our
pictures,
the 3D that we're doing.
Reb boys I, here we go.
Hi, my name is Asher Smith, and I'm 10
years old. Guess what? I've done 478,000
blatt Gemara, and I'm going to do my
fourth siyum.
He's 10 years old. I do daf yomi with
Eli Stefansky, and it's actually
amazing.
And before this, I thought Gemara was
actually kind of hard.
When he was 10 years old, he thought it
was hard.
I'm actually fun. He explains the Gemara
step-by-step with charts, pictures, AI
videos, and even live props that can
bring the Gemara to life.
He even brought a live goat to sheer.
Only in MDY.
And the best part is that you can join
from anywhere in the world. Best time to
start is now, because this month in
Shvat, we're starting a brand new Seder
Chulin.
So, you can jump in fresh from the
beginning together with everyone. If I
can do 478 dafim, you can definitely
start with only one.
Come join me and thousands of other
people, such as truck drivers,
businessmen, doctors, even Schwagi, to
join the daf yomi.
Don't worry, no goats to buy, unless for
the carbon in the Beis Hamikdash. And
let's hope this day comes soon, so we
can all be mekabel ponim while watching
this year, of course.
All right, yishar koach to him.
We're going to still put him into the
contest. We're going to We're going to
see more of the contest. Reb boys I,
this is I forgot his name. Where's the
little pillow? The uncle. Oh, another
one.
What's his name?
Yitzy. Yitzy from South Side in
Lakewood. Everybody together.
First siyum in his life, and many other
people, it's the first siyum.
That's our Gemara.
Four questions.
Beautiful.
You see?
Both things.
South Side Barbecue in Lakewood. It's
South Side Barbecue in Lakewood.
Okay. Uh good Shabbos. Yes, Bishop from
Toronto, a ninth grader in Ner Yisrael,
Toronto. Just finished his first daf
yomi. So, he's joined daf yomi in MDY
after he rebuilt his shul in Toronto at
the beginning of the month. Plus, we
made a family siyum last night, and we
prepared attached picture of Yossi.
Yishar koach, and thank you for
inspiring Yossi to grow in his limud
haTorah. May Hakadosh Baruch Hu give you
the strength to lead the Torah and daf
for many years to come. With much
appreciation, Zev Spitz.
This, Reb boys I, was on Friday. It's
unbelievable.
We had
over, well, maybe slightly under,
500 people live on Zoom, and on Well,
it's much more than 500 people on Zoom.
It was uh 250 on YouTube, 250 on Zoom.
But, check this out. Some of the Zoom
Each Zoom, look at this.
Look at this. Bnei Brak.
Uh Haifa. All these are all different

But, one of them here. This This, Reb
boys I, they got a big round of
applause. Eilat. Check this out in
Eilat.
It's unbelievable.
Tel Tzion needs a little help.
This uh Reb boys I gave me chills for a
second when I heard it, so I'll share it
with you. It's very quick and
I thought yesterday about the siyum that
I did with Pesach Shaindy has to do with
MDY. I came over with a kiddush. Klal
Yisrael was screaming, "Lomdin Gemara.
How come we can't enjoy it? Why don't we
shouldn't Why can't we don't like it
when we don't enjoy it?"
Hashem sent down a Reb Eli Stefansky,
and he was the one that brought the MDY
to Klal Yisrael. So, he saved us when we
were screaming, "Lomdin Gemara."
>> [laughter]
>> Lomdin Gemara.
Oh, I forgot the email. I was supposed
to email you something. I don't remember
Seriously, I don't remember what it was.
What was it? Do you even remember?
>> Yeah, Berg's speech. Ah, Berg. Could you
send me something? Cedarhurst satellite

it, too.

Somebody came over to me and told me
first of all when Menachem Toker
Menachem Toker brought over 200 people
to the daf just by putting it in the
status. He saw they came to through his
link over 200 people. But he says in his
status, he says that Chulin is one of
the hardest masechtas.
No, it's not going to be hard
and somebody came over to me after she
says wow, this is a lot easier than
Menachos.
So about knives this shalom aleichem
guys. What's your name?
From?
Shalom aleichem Reb
but what's your name?
From Spring [snorts] Valley. And you?
From the chamber. Shalom aleichem. I
know you you sit next to me in shul.
What's your name?
Ah, very good. You good learner.
Very good. Okay, who else do we have
here?
Who?
It's actually it's actually very
heartwarming. Reb Dovid is back. Shalom
aleichem.
Um,
okay.
Yeah, Eli sat right over here.
Sat in the hot seat. Very good. Ready to
go? Reb boys I daf
Today's daf gimmel. We're going to start
from the bottom.
So this is what we had yesterday.
It's very clear.
The first four words of the Mishnah
Hakol shochtin u'shchitasan ksheira.
So the first two are in green, second
two are in red.
First one green is go is l'chatchila in
the first place these people could do
shchita.
>> [snorts]
>> U'shchitasan ksheira is after the fact.
Don't do this usually.
>> [laughter]
>> Now everyone thinks I did that noise.
Great.
>> [laughter and snorts]
>> U'shchitasan ksheira is after the fact.
So what we need to figure out is who
could do shchita in the first place
and who could only do it after the fact.
We have six six shitos and we're holding
all the way in the bottom of the base of
the base.
Two lines from the bottom.
Shita number one
>> [clears throat]
>> was Rabbi Bar Eloi
who says
that we're talking about somebody who's
tamei
and he's trying to shecht Rabbi Bar
Eloi.
Here, let's see.
Ah.
So all you guys weren't here last night.
This is sheretz. Leto, this is the
number one tamei thing in the world.
Everybody thinks it's a rat. No, it's
this guy right over here. He's the
number one tamei.
He can do the shchita hell
with a long knife.
>> [laughter]
>> So Rabbi Bar Eloi
That's Rabbi Bar Eloi. L'chatchila
somebody who's tamei could shecht
a regular animal. What's the big
chiddush? Big chiddush is cuz he's
makpid as if it's a korban. Why? He
wants to get used to dealing with
korbanos eating korbanos when he's
tahor. So even though it's tamei and
accepted upon himself not and you can't
shecht the korban when you're tamei
that's for sure you can't touch it.
>> [clears throat]
>> So he's l'chatchila he's tamei.
L'chatchila if he uses a long knife go
ahead and shecht.
Make sure you don't touch it. Go ahead
and shecht. L'chatchila in the first
place. So what's b'dieved?
He's actually shechting kutchim and he's
not supposed to shecht kutchim. But
after the fact he shechted this $5,000
animal and he goes to the rabbi what
should I do? I was tamei and I brought a
korban and I shechted it. So the rabbi
says did you touch it? He says 100% I
didn't touch it. Without it.
So then they say okay after the fact the
rabbi will say it's a good korban.
Throughout the Sugya we're going to have
to see these three things. What what's
the l'chatchila in the Mishnah? What's
the b'dieved in the Mishnah? And then
the next slide the kulan sheshachtu.
The good news is that the Gemara repeats
itself six times in a row, 30 words.
What's the kulan sheshachtu? It can mean
the cheresh shochtet be katan that we
just mentioned a second before cuz then
it would say v'im and if these cheresh
shochtet be katan So what's the kulan?
It must be what we're talking about.
Like usually it's within what that shita
is. So right now we're talking about
tamei or kutchim? Oh, the kulan
sheshachtu if they shechted kutchim
and somebody saw it. The kulan
sheshachtu we have to put the word
there.
And they saw the kulan sheshachtu and
they saw
somebody was watching there's a eid
echad and the the shochet ran away. So
we asked the guy that saw did you see if
he touched the animal by mistake? No, he
didn't touch the animal. Okay, then it's
kosher. That's the kulan sheshachtu.
Okay, so that's the first thing. Now the
Gemara asks what kind of tumah are we
talking about? What do we all see in the
video? That he touched a sheretz. Why?
Why why why do we see in the video that
it's a sheretz? Maybe he touched a dead
person. So for that we're going to see a
beautiful halacha. Another chiddush
gadol. Every day we learn new
chiddushim.
>> [cough]
>> The way it works is
and this is of course for the new
people. Guys that were here for a year
or so know this inside out and this is
second nature.
This is the chart of tumah.
It goes
in levels of tumah. The worst of the
worst is avi avos tumah.
Then it drops to av tumah. So a dead
person is the worst of the worst. You
can't get any worse than that.
A sheretz is one step below. It's only
av tumah. A person who touches a dead
person who goes to a funeral and touches
a dead person he's only a av tumah. He
drops.
That person that touched a dead person
that touches food or uh another
whatever it is keilim it drops one level
to rishon. A rishon who touches uh food
it drops to a sheini.
Okay. So
if a person went to a funeral
and he after the funeral he decided to
touch
this knife.
You guys need a knife for the bris?
>> [laughter]
>> We have a smaller one.
We do.
Some of you saw it if it's a whole Sugya
you were going to talk now. See blood
poop.
Okay.
Let me ask you something.
Person [clears throat] went to a levaya.
He's av tumah. Touches this. What does
this become?
It should become a rishon it should drop
one. No.
Big chiddush. This becomes what I am.
If this touches a dead person this
becomes a dead person. This becomes avi
avos tumah. If a person who's a av tumah
>> [clears throat]
>> touches this
so this becomes a av tumah.
Asks the Gemara if this is av tumah and
then you slice the animal with this you
do shchit with this. So what does the
animal become? One step less. One step
less is one step less of av tumah is
what? A rishon. So it became tamei. What
did you gain by a long knife? You said
oh if you use a long knife it's great.
But you're tamei and you touched the
knife and the knife is like you.
In fact the same question could happen
even if the knife is not like you.
>> [snorts]
>> The knife is you is is better. But let's
say
it's still it's still will be a sheini.
So it may it's no good.
So
a rishon we can get it to be a rishon
even if it drops level it could still be
a rishon.
A kol panim. So that's the Gemara's
question.
Hai tamei didmi b'mai? What happened?
How how exactly is it tamei? Now this
only applies Reb boys I and that's the
chiddush of today. Another chiddush.
This halacha I just told you is only
when it has to do with dead people.
But when a sheretz touches a knife the
knife doesn't become a sheretz. It
doesn't become av tumah. It actually
drops one to a rishon. A dead sheretz. A
dead sheretz. Always a dead sheretz.
Yes. Always a dead sheretz. No, it was a
puddle of blood. That's why I did a
puddle of blood. Yeah. This is this is a
little hot. Yeah, let me show you again.
I here.
We don't want to gross people out with
dead shratzim. So here look check this
out. He's in a puddle puddle of blood.
Okay. looks alive but that's why put a
puddle of blood.
Fine. Next.
>> [snorts]
>> The knife has the same halakha as the
dead person.
Avatumu. So, he's an avatumu. He becomes
avatumu. Letam letakin. So, then he he
makes the sakin and the knife avatumu.
The as a sakin tamit basar. Then the
knife goes and touches the meat. So, the
meat will drop one level from avatumu go
down to a rishon. So, he's he's a
rishon.
Hello. A lot of people get so nervous
when they hear the whole thing of tuma
tahara. That's it. That was the whole
That's basically it. It keeps on
dropping levels and that's it. There's a
few little variations and stuff, but
that's that's the basic tuma tahara that
a lot of people [clears throat] are not
familiar with.
Hello says the gemara of the tame
besherets.
The sherets is a
>> [cough and snorts]
>> av and the the and and the knife drops
down to a rishon.
The
Right. The person No, no, no.
The person right, 100% The person
touches the sherets. The person becomes
a rishon. Thank you. The person himself
the avat
The sherets is an avatumu. Anybody
touches the sherets drops a level.
Becomes a rishon.
We could say that he touched the dead
person or could go into
We're not dealing with this kind of
knife. And that's the question I asked
yesterday. What if you do shrita with a
plastic knife? Are you yotze? Yes.
You can be yotze with this with a with a
rock, with a with a piece of glass, with
whatever you want.
Then bemetzar with a rock. Bemis chukus.
The shach brings down that it used to be
the minag that everybody used rocks.
Sefardi used a rock. Used a rock.
Until David Hamelech threw a stone at
Golias.
And the rock asked permission from the
metal to pierce the helmet. So, the
metal said, "What are you going to give
me?" So, he said, "I'll give you I'll
I'll trade with you. You let me go in
now and then you can become you can use
knives for mila."
The the the
Who else brings it down?
The Prisha brings it down.
The hilchos mila.
Okay? Huh?
Mila, that's the point of him.
Yeah.
>> [snorts]
>> So, just to review that video that we
had the other day.
Here we go. Just this part.
And this explains the end of that video.
>> [music]
>> If the the gemara thought that he stands
far away, it would be assur.
>> [music]
[music]
>> He throws the water and then you got it.
>> [laughter]
>> Tahar tahar tahar. You think that was a
little shickle of eye today to try to
make me look better. I guess it's
[clears throat]
it's difficult.
All right. Zog the heilige gemara.
Tell you a real quick story.
I just heard it. So, I'll share it from
uh
Rabbi Haber. He spoke he's he gave a
drasha to us to the to the women of MDY.
A story that's negiah to to to our
perek.
There's a boy
who
went for a farher in Philly by Rebbi
Shmuel Weinberger
and went with his father.
And
they come into the farher. Rebbi Shmuel
asks him, "Nu, what are you learning?"
He says, "I'm learning chulin." "What
perek?" So, the father says,
"Hashaichit."
So, hashaichit so Rebbi Shmuel opens up
and asks him all these questions on
hashaichit.
And the boy doesn't know a thing. Zero.
He got a zero on his test.
Reminds me of Binyamin Klein, no? What's
his name?
No, no.
The guy from the dentist from New York.
What's his name?
Ben Klein. Ben Schwartz. Ben Schwartz.
Tell you the story of Ben Schwartz
later. So,
he uh
he he the father can't believe it. His
son is like a good kid. He's a masmid.
He knows his stuff about perek. He gets
into the car. Father says, "What
happened over there?"
He said uh he farhered me on the wrong
perek. He farhered me on hashaichit.
He said, "So, why didn't you say
something?" He says, "Cuz you said
hashaichit. I don't want to
I don't I'm not machlokes with my
father. My father says hashaichit, I do
hashaichit."
He says, "But you're not going to get
into Philly." He says, "That's kibbud av
v'em. No, I don't want to embarrass time
and you know in front of uh
So, the the father calls up.
He calls up Rebbi Shmuel. He says,
"You're not going to believe it. The
yeshiva
my son didn't want to embarrass me, but
it was the farher in the wrong thing."
So, Rebbi Shmuel said, "Okay. He's such
a kid. That that that's the type of kid
I need." Now, of course, some of you are
thinking
of course he learned hashaichit. He just
didn't know anything. He was a great
So,
apple pie came. I I would I would accept
this guy because he came with such a
beautiful chab of the kibbud av v'em and
this. Just for that alone you have to
accept him into the thing.
Yeah, Philly is a top yeshiva.
All right. What happened to Ben to Ben
Schwartz? The all the way in the
beginning he's with us. He's one of the
the meiazem of the shiur.
He sent in the email. It was it was
mamish heartening. One of those first
emails that were wow.
So, he went to a brand new yeshiva.
And uh his father said, "Okay, you we'll
get you a tutor to help you out
and do well." And the tutor they sat
they learned the whole daf gemara. He
was so he was pumped this farher. He's
going to ace the farher.
And uh he gets the farher and uh him and
the tutor they learned the wrong daf.
So, he fills in whatever he can fill in
and the next day the rebbi gives out the
test. Finally, he gets to his test and
the rebbi says,
"Whose test is this? He got a zero."
And he answers, "Oh, it's a new guy."
And then he's in a brand new yeshiva. He
doesn't know anybody. And the guy
embarrassed him in front of everyone and
he just he didn't know where to bury
himself. He said he never opened up a
gemara. For 30 years he didn't open up a
gemara.
Today, he found the shiur baruch Hashem.
Today, he has an hour a day where his
wife doesn't let anybody into the
office. There's a sign on the door.
Do not disturb from you know, 1:00 to
2:00 whatever it is. You can't That's
his kvius. No matter what, he's learning
the daf that time. So,
he learns the daily gemara.
V'boi sayim alayim we said already.
Abaya amar nu pshat. Again, we're trying
to figure out three things in the
mishna. The first four words.
Hakal shartam seems like in the first
place where shchita doesn't share seems
only after the fact. But then we also
have the third thing in the mishna.
What's going on with if there's a a yid
that watches it's kosher. What's going
on over there?
Says Abaya.
And Abaya and Rebbi Shmuel say basically
the same thing with a small variation.
So, that's two for one.
Abaya amar
hakal shartam v'afilu kusi.
We're talking about a kusi. A kusi is a
a person who became uh there's a whole
nation that came to klal Yisrael and
they they became geirim. And there's a
machlokes in shas whether they are
geirei emes. Did they did they really
become geirim? But later on they became
a little bit more relaxed, but it's too
late. Once you become a ger tzedek, so
that's it. It's like a regular Jew. So,
if you become relaxed, you relax. They
you're over some or they're fakers. They
only wanted to be part of the Jewish
nation, but they were they were forced
by the lions. The lions were killing
them. So, they said, "Oh, we better do
chuva. We better be They pretended to be
geirim or real geirim." Abaya goes with
the with the with the shita that they're
geirei emes. Geirei emes would say that
they are 100% fully geirim. And if they
do shchita,
we will eat from the shchita says Abaya
l'chatchila in the first place
on condition that somebody's watching
them.
Why? Because they are makpid on the
de'oraisas. They're makpid on shchita.
They won't touch something that didn't
have shchita.
The problem with the kusi mar that
they're not makpid on the rabbonans.
They don't have a problem with lifnei
iver lo tisa michshol cuz lifnei iver lo
tisa michshol means don't put a
stumbling block. So, they don't put
blocks in front of people. If it's not a
block, if it's a pillow, they do put it
cuz it says in the Torah don't put a
block.
They don't have a problem
giving people treif.
So, hakal shartam in the first place
v'afilu kusi.
Why? Cuz they're geirei emes. A maymar
cuz you saw already with a gabba. But
it's only when a Jew is standing right
there watching. Avaya yotzei min
ha'klal. Lo yishchat. But
if you have a mashgiach like they have
in a lot of places today, you can't
afford a mashgiach that's going to sit
there in the kitchen day and night 24/7.
So, he comes in and out.
Somebody comes in and out. Says Abaya,
do not that that's not acceptable. Can't
do shchita.
V'im shachat. And this
chotach k'zayis basar min ha'izlayah.
You cut off a k'zayis. They also they
have a problem with shiurim. So, make
sure it's a nice big piece.
Achal ayin motar. Do do the do the test.
You know, the the poison test. There was
a ma'aseh here in Eretz Yisrael where a
guy was caught red-handed.
What's the word I'm looking for?
Spraying the houses, you know, the
hadbara. Um
exterminator. He was a fake
exterminator. They caught him.
So, he he did this calculation in his
head. He said listen, they caught me.
Now to do extermination illegally is a
big problem. You go to jail etc.
It's better for me to say that I stole
than to say I was an exterminator. So he
said, "What are you talking about?
I don't exterminate. I just spray
water."
So you spray water, you're going to but
you're not exterminating.
So the guy wasn't a fool. He says, "Oh,
it's water. Drink it.
Take a cup of it."
Okay? So if you if you trust
if if this guy's going to eat it, he
doesn't eat trayf.
He he keeps all the races.
So if he eats it then you could be so
much on it
after the fact.
Okay?
If he doesn't eat it then it's also to
eat from shita.
Now we're going to do this another five
times.
We're going to do it each time a little
quicker.
Let me show you
over here on the just in the chart.
It says in the Mishnah hotz mecheresh
shoyteh vekatan. Besides the cheresh
shoyteh vekatan who cannot do shita why
because they mess up the shita. They can
do shihya, they can pause, they can do
drisa, they could they could uh go
downwards instead of slice.
They could do chalada, go in between the
two simanim.
And then it's covered and then cut.
And then immediately afterwards it says
vachulan sheshachtu.
Grammatically it doesn't really work.
What's the vachulan sheshachtu? These
three people that we're talking about?
No. If it's these three we'd say the im
veim shachtu
and if these three the cheresh shoyteh
vekatan shachtu and somebody was
watching them then it's good. The word
vachulan is no good. We're going to see
that question five more times today.
Each time is a freebie of 30 words.
Cannot do why? Shema yeshu, shema
yedresu, shema yachalidu. Let's see the
beautiful pictures again.
This is what we're going to have today.
This is also we have a special artist
that didn't you didn't see him. He does
this 3D stuff.
This is chalada going in between the two
simanim.
So now right there that's where it's
possible. Why because it's covered and
you cannot do a shita that's covered. So
there's a machlokes if covering with a
let's say a scarf is considered covering
but certainly if the animal itself is
covering and then you do a shita that's
for sure assur. This is drisa going
downwards.
And shihya is something like this.
You do one siman and then you take a
coffee break and then you come back and
you do the other one.
Says the Gemara vachulan sheshachtu
achayo. So then we have to understand
the third
sentence in the Mishnah that if there
was somebody that watched them then it's
okay.
Veim shachtu
then it should have said different
wording.
Where what did I skip?
We're talking about this right there.
We're talking about the cheresh shoyteh
vekatan. You're pretending the chulan
and other people. No, veim. If these
people that we just spoke about
Al akusi. So so usually it goes back to
the
the shita. We're talking about the kusi.
Abaye says we're talking about a kusi.
How am I supposed to wait a minute? How
could it be that you need somebody to
watch them?
The Mishnah is saying that if somebody
saw it after the fact it's okay. No, but
if somebody's standing there watching
him afilu lachatchila. So let's see the
shita of and the Gemara says kashya.
Remember this kashya because the Gemara
later on is going to say how come
uh Rav Baruch doesn't say like Abaye?
How come so-and-so does cuz there's a
kashya on Abaye. It doesn't fit in so
well. Here's Abaye's shita.
This guy's a kusi.
Veim agav if he watches him if Yisrael
watches then it's okay.
So now come on why is this lachatchila
means a kusi? If a Yisrael watches him
if a Yisrael yotzei venichnas
yotzei venichnas goes in and out. Once
in a while he shows up
then you know sometimes they show up
once a week, once a month, once a year.
I don't know how it works exactly. But
today with the video cameras it's a
little different, a little better.
Okay?
Omar Rava
I have a problem with what you're
saying. Cuz nichnas veyotzei we know
even today. Think about it in our days.
Nichnas veyotzei is lachatchila or
bediyavad?
If you go to a restaurant and there's a
there's a mashgiach that's nichnas
veyotzei. He's not there in the kitchen.
Once in a while he comes in. Is that
lachatchila? Can you eat there
lachatchila or bediyavad?
Bediyavad? No?
Yeah, it's lachatchila.
It's lachatchila. Rava says I'll prove
it to you that it's lachatchila. What's
the problem?
What you don't eat in the restaurant
that that that has nichnas veyotzei?
It's not bediyavad. Most restaurants are
nichnas veyotzei. It's too expensive.
Is there a mashgiach meeting there at
all in every restaurant?
I don't think so.
Maybe they have video cameras that are
that are to me the but not I don't think
so.
Wow.
Omar Rava veyotzei lachatchila loy. I'll
prove it to you. It's a it's a Mishnah
in Avodah Zarah about non. It says
hamaniach nachri bachalusoi. If you sell
a bunch of wine and you leave a nachri
an oved kochavim there Yisrael yotzei
venichnas and you have a Jew going in
and out mutar.
Okay?
What's the what's the what's the idea of
nichnas veyotzei?
Cuz I'm concerned that the guy not I'm
concerned. The guy the guy is concerned
that the Jew is going to catch him.
The the hechsher guy the guy that's
working in the restaurant is concerned
that he's going to get caught.
There's a a computer technician that
went to fix somebody's computer. Sitting
at his desk is fixing his computer and
the the baal habayis comes into the
room. So he stood up.
So he says, "Why are you standing up?
I'm a lawyer." He says, "I've been doing
this for a bunch of years.
He says, "I always pick around in
people's history. This is the first time
I went to somebody's history and it's
clean. Mine was clean so I'm standing up
for you."
I I don't know but it's a good story.
>> [laughter]
>> Probably not.
No, he had to to see where the problem
came from. What bugs came. What
Your letter if nichnas veyotzei even a
selling wine we're not concerned
about
I'll show it but just show this is the
older one.
This is a
um the the concern is that he's going to
go into it
and take some wine.
And then what is he going to do?
He's going to have to repair what he did
cuz it it's obviously sealed, right?
It's not an open bottle.
So he's going to repair it.
Then I'm not concerned. Why?
Because he's going to get caught. It's
it's going to take two hours until it
dries this that. So that's actually what
the Gemara is going to answer later on
that what's the what's Rava bringing a
raya from something that takes such a
long time to lock? Where over here it's
just a slice of the knife and he has
reshus to shacht. Maybe he'll mess up.
Says the Gemara
They tell
>> [snorts]
>> they tell Rava chasam mikatonim yach.
Does it say anything about
that's mutar lachatchila? Hamaniach
katoni. If he did it and he left the
by himself it doesn't say you should
leave him there. If you left him by
mistake
bediyavad then it's okay. We let you use
that wine. El amar have another raya
that nichnas veyotzei is okay. Ein
choshevin yesh mashcha again we're
talking about wine that's kosher and
it's by the Let's say it's in his
house. You don't have to sit in his
house, live in his house in order to
drink it.
El amar pishyei tzei venichnas mutar. If
he's able to go in and out once in a
while then it's mutar.
El amar Rava therefore I agree with you
in principle that we're talk the Mishnah
is talking about a kusi.
How come shoychtim is talking about like
like Abaye said? We're talking about a
kusi in in the first place. But I'm
going to fix what you said. You said
that Yisrael is standing with a
newspaper with two holes and you're
watching the whole time? No. I'm saying
that it's talking about a a Jew that
goes in and out.
Avu bomes shoycheiach if after the fact
you found him there wasn't a guy there
and you found out that the kusi did
shita. What do you do? Choydesh kishayis
basar you give him the taste test. If he
could eat it acholo mutar lach assur. If
he eats it great.
So let's just see what Yosi did here.
We have Rava now.
He's nichnas veyotzei.
>> [panting]
>> He's a yotzei. He's nichnas.
Okay. So Rava just changes a little bit.
That's not that the Jew is standing
there. He goes in and out. That's
lachatchila. And if he if he if the
there was no nichnas veyotzei and the
the kusi did the shita so then you give
him to eat. Now we have to understand
the second the third thing in the
Mishnah. What does it say?
Uh a deaf mute and a shoyteh and a katan
we had a demonstration here of a katan.
We had a demonstration of a shoyteh.
Basically I told her to look at the guy
next to them.
Daafilu diyev an amiloy.
Then a cheresh shoyteh vekatan cannot do
shita at all even after the fact. Why?
Shema yeshu. What's going to help me?
Maybe they paused in the middle. Shema
yedresu. They went downwards. Shema
yachalidu. They hit the knife. Vechulan
sheshachtu achayo. And when it says in
the Mishnah
that if they checked and there's a
a single witness, then it's okay. You
know how it is if it's cut off if it's
talking about the line before. I look
good. We're talking about them. So, the
word doesn't fit in. We
should say
And I could be talking about the Kusi.
But he said before
that if there's a
the Mishnah goes in and out, it's okay.
So, why do I need a witness to witness
the whole thing? Cash is a good cash.
Yeah, and that's why people don't say
like Rava.
Yeah, charts off.
The the chart before had the same thing.
Okay.
That was the that was the cash. Um the
coolest is shocked to is talking about
the Kusi. Yeah. Yeah. We have to change
the chart.
Rashi Omer
Yesterday last night's sheer was over
was over at 12:30.
So, I didn't I didn't get to sleep until
after 2:00
for whatever reason.
So,
it happens once in a while, once in a
blue moon, but my wife woke me up today,
which is not a good thing.
That means I didn't have a chance. I
wanted to switch the charts.
Rashi Omer okay, Tony.
Another shot. So, I just want to point
out while while we're here that Rava is
actually fixing a buyer. You noticed. He
says a buyer says Kusi. Rava also says
Kusi with a fix. It's not a committee.
It's
but Rava himself doesn't really hold
that. Rava himself is going to hold like
Rashi because Rashi actually brings Rava
as proof. So, Rava could go with Rashi.
That's that's all I want to point out.
Rashi Omer Tony. What's the case? How
can
again? Going back.
What is these two things? How can it
means in the first place go ahead and do
it which is means only after the fact.
What's going on here? What's going on
here? Talking about a guy that went off
the Derek.
And he's a moment.
Now, there's two types of moment. Two
people that went off.
There's people that do it because they
enjoy trade. They enjoy whatever they're
doing.
And there's moment
there's moment
moment two different things. One guy is
about Tyva
>> [snorts]
>> and he does it because he believes in
the
does he has a Tyva. So, a guy like that
you could rely on him to a point. He's
not going to be martial other people.
He's not a guy
but there's a guy that's a Russia. He
does it. He doesn't he doesn't even like
pork but he eats pork on Yom Kippur.
Why? Stam.
Lahas to upset.
That guy you can't trust at all.
So, here's that's the older one that
that
a burger is $3.99 but a kosher burger is
$10.99.
So, so he goes to McDonald's.
But when the the right next to each
other and they're both $3.99, why you
going to McDonald's? Cuz you're a
lahas.
So, says Rashi, we're talking about a
moment
and a moment could shock in the first
place. I could be so a moment. It's a
big hack in in always was since I'm a
kid about
moment. Some of them are not such big
You are shamayim. You know every place
that you go, you always have a guy or
two that who knows what. They're doing
it for the money. They do this.
So, moment of my
We're talking about a guy who went off.
He's he's bad in certain things areas in
the Tyra but he does it because he is
about Tyva.
But the Rava, you see? It says this goes
according to Rava. So, Rava could
actually this could be Rava. Not only
Rashi. Rashi is the one that wrote the
Gamara. He's the last from the last time
of Ryan.
Rava was way before.
But this could go not way before,
before. The all my Rava is from moment.
If you have a Jew who went off and eats
the veil as because he has a Tyva. But
it's exactly nice and light. You do but
it's one of the things I don't like to
do. It's basically I'm going to do it on
the other side. You go like this. You
run your today. You run your thumb like
this.
Seven and a half years old. Really? Yep.
It's in my
Oh, this is so we have something like
that.
>> [laughter]
>> Yeah, just too much. Let me see if it's
a Rava.
Rava cash.
No, this is also bad. Cash is bad.
Doesn't say what it is. It say Kusi
Kusi. I'm both a buyer and Rava. Anyway,
whatever. We'll deal about the seven and
a half years.
Oh, I left it as a cash.
Ah, so this is actually this actually
explains the why they don't hold with
him. How come how come Rashi doesn't go
with this? Cuz cash cash here. Very
nice. Oh, I like this. I would have had
it last night.
You can have it back. You can sell it.
You put in your thing.
But it's actually nice and light.
I'm main. I'm
you're allowed to eat from him. Why?
Because he's he's not going to do with
me evil. He believes in a stumbling
block. He's a firm guy.
Some of them may miss the car.
He told me
he's not from right now
but he's a gronic.
He's a gronic.
He said it with pride.
He's a gronic.
He said I'm something. What? He said I'm
something.
He's getting mad at somebody. What are
you doing?
I'm a gronic. What are you
Yeah.
>> [snorts]
>> I believe
he says he says you know it's very
annoying. The comes to them and say you
want to put on film.
He says get out of here. I'm a gronic.
Get out of here.
I believe I believe
>> [laughter]
>> I believe
She knows.
I believe I believe I believe I believe
lawless
If he didn't do it but he got laugh
laugh.
Rinse straight and I have no idea. I
believe I believe I believe I believe
lawless. We
but it's like a grab. So,
what's the part of the mission? The the
is if you
give him a knife but it's like and you
give him a good kosher knife. Go ahead
shock cuz you're not a you only moment
of the other.
But if you didn't check the knife
lawless. He shouldn't do it. He shocked
it. But he didn't listen. He grabbed it.
He shocked but it's again after. So, he
checked it afterwards. This is the
other. But
if the knife is good, you're allowed to
eat the and laugh also the other.
Now, we here we go freebie.
The coolest is shocked to the highest.
We have to understand the words of
coolest shocked to either
it's referring to the
other
I look good. The mission is talking
about it. So, it should just say the
other. And I saw moment. So, now we're
going to take Rashi's shot. We're
talking about a guy that went off. Eat
the second and
if they check the knife how much
the other could be even in the first
place. I bought that. He didn't check
the knife. This is the second of the
cash. What's the problem? Check it right
now and if this is the knife is good,
it's good. We didn't listen to the
second and if there's no knife he can't
have it. So, what good is it that
somebody else saw it afterwards or at
the time? Do me a second shock it. If
somebody witnessed, he doesn't know
whether the knife is good or not. He
witnessed the shock it. Maybe he's using
a knife that has a a little dent in it.
A nick. And a little nick is a problem.
Why? It's equal. You could pull the
We'll we'll talk about it. We'll pull
Don't worry. We'll get there sometime.
But the problem is equal. Turning of the
death.
Another shot. Rashi and these are these
are the last two shots them.
Phoenix live in Arizona. Wow, shalom
aleichem guys. Beautiful. Keep it up.
You give us a lot of people there. Wow,
beautiful.
Live in America. They're probably are
they in flappers also? And then master
fish whatever. Yeah.
Mhm.
Yeah, yeah, yeah. You're right. They
were they were live. No.
Rashi Omer we're going to have two
Rashis. Slight variation in Rashi.
So,
there's two things. Two two two types of
This is it.
This is who
is a moment in you knows all the inside
out.
When I when I first met fish our
official it
the the amount of Tyra that he knows and
then and then he quotes from this one
and that one. You do like this and just
tremendous lucky in a locker.
And then there's a
a guy who
did it at least three times and he
didn't faint.
So, that's the difference between the
two of us. One he starts off the is on a
person who's a moment in a locker.
Another one is a a moment. Let's see.
I have a
moment
if you know all the
you could shock in the first place.
Moment of
even though you never proved yourself.
You never shocked it in front of us and
we don't know if you faint or not.
I I I give him a fair and he knew
everything well. I believe
I believe
lawless. But if he doesn't know then he
shouldn't do it. But
if he did do it but he didn't know it.
If he didn't know
it
if after the fact we gave him a fair,
you have to know what's enough for me to
when you give him the fair at the end of
the day. You know the it. I also
if you didn't know the then you're not
allowed to eat.
Here this is a day.
Hey Jim, you missed one good of a
here. We're talking full
and
them. This guy is a day.
>> [snorts]
>> Eat this now.
I
You expect me to eat from my own shiksa?
I can't. I'm milk egg. I just ate butter
cookies. I'm vegan and vegetarian.
>> [clears throat]
>> I started a diet this morning. I've got
to lose this gut after all the food at
those MDY seums.
Interesting.
Okay. Is Ravina Rav Boise is Ravina?
He knows that a lot of his men have a
shiksa.
Remember we had Mordecai, the guy from
Texas that I ruined his cowboy hat?
If he showed a little blood during
shear, he faints he faints during shear
even on on on on a screen. So people
have that so you have to make sure they
don't faint.
What is it going on in the kosher
we're talking about it. The
word
Ella
so it's going into Ravina according to
Ravina does that part is talking about
people that are not they don't know that
a lot of this.
As
the why if you give him a little fair
afterwards it's enough. So it's the last
because then the day is not here. Big
army.
In Ravina itself second shot of Ravina.
All my
Ravina said we can all my
this is what this is the shot.
If you saw that guy shiksa in front of
you three times. Then it's a good
even though we don't know if they have
they know that a lot of this or not. If
a guy
shiksa three times in front of you
he didn't he didn't faint. This guy this
tough guy.
>> Don't forget you're not allowed to faint
during the shiksa.
But you're a tough guy. I'm certain
you'll succeed.
Obviously piece [music] of cake.
Then here. [snorts]
I bought you a brand new shiksa knife.
Good luck.
Yeah yeah we're going to laugh at him
one day.
OOPS.
>> [screaming]
[laughter]
>> FAINT.
MAN
IF A person
It happened to me my sister I was
walking in O'Hare airport.
The floor is like stone like like a
cement wall and the two people next to
me all of a sudden one guy just stops
pauses falls backwards completely loses
consciousness hits his head in the
concrete.
I thought he died whatever.
Three seconds later.
He sits up. Gets up and continues
walking. So like sir um I I think you
hit your head on the concrete. He had no
idea what I was talking about. No clue.
He just he he came to he was on the
floor so he decided to pick himself up
and start continue walking as if nothing
happened.
Rav Meir says
Rav Meir he was buried also. Buried
I don't know what you're talking about.
I didn't faint. I just saw you I saw
your head crack the the concrete. No.
You must sugar. He thought I was nuts.
Shiksa [snorts] shiksa.
That guy is shiksa shiksa
that I feel that he have a lot of luck.
Oh.
Mama's freebie again. No it's
unbelievable the mama does this again.
Shiksa
is possible because they could pass it.
We call him shiksa
so we have to know what the third line
in the mission is. You lay my cotton
we're talking there. We
say different word. Ella shiksa. We're
talking about somebody who didn't do it
three times in front of us. But I mean
that doesn't make sense because you said
that if he says I know for a fact that
I I'm I'm good um
I know for a fact that's enough. So the
lesson
we can't ask him.
So now the just goes one by one.
Let's see.
What's Ravina two? I didn't see this
yet. Oh Ravina two
means that he doesn't he doesn't faint.
>> [snorts]
>> But he doesn't know that a lot of this
is upside down a lot of this. He's
looking at the book. A lot of this okay
fine.
So
let's see this whole thing.
What's what? I don't know.
Oh here let me try to get him.
So now I have the whole thing together.
I don't know if it'll help or not but
Ravina Ravina is the one that says we
just finished Ravina talking about
he's a
he knows that a lot of this doesn't know
that a lot of this. He he faints he
doesn't faint.
The Rav
the first shot that we're talking about
in the first place somebody was telling
me.
They
don't say like a buyer. A buyer and Rav
both say what we're talking about a
Rav says we're talking about a guy that
went off the
why? Because shalom.
The whole lot.
The whole lot how do you explain the
whole lot? Nobody had a good answer for
that. How come no one says like the
first shot? We're talking about in the
first place he's he's shiksa the whole
lot.
After the fact with the bed.
I I didn't realize I'm saying
he's here on the morning of his kids
bris. It's a big thing. Seriously that's
the army.
My my first kid by by the bris was very
busy all night up this that is going to
bris what I say is prepare speech
learning was one of the last thing I was
thinking about then. Okay shiksa the new
generation Zevy the whole lot.
Okay so if you remember in we even
mentioned it today in the morning right
when we started there was two shiksas
two maybe we didn't I don't remember
anymore.
What? Our mission that talks about when
the mission talks about the same exact
case. So there's two
the mission is the main over here is
just
or our mission over here is the main and
that's
that the mission says
either one you could argue with and
that's why they don't like that shot of
the the person is
the what?
That our mission is the main source of
the because it's we're talking about
so we spoke about somebody
other
over there is the main part. The
over there we're talking about
we're talking about somebody
shiksa shiksa. We say that shiksa is the
main part. Why did you tell me
over there it's only
because we said shiksa so we're talking
about
tell me
shiksa.
This whole thing is wrong why? Shiksa
[snorts]
lucky shiksa. The whole shot is because
a person who accepted upon himself to
treat mundane things like something
that's
it has that a lot of but I don't hold
that. I hold that if you try to treat it
you can't treat
this this like shiksa doesn't work.
So you can't treat a whole lot of animal
like shiksa.
The Ravina and everybody doesn't agree
with the Ravina's shot that we're
talking about somebody who knows that a
lot of this well or somebody that did it
three times. Lucky shiksa
in the first shot in Ravina
[clears throat] that we're talking about
in the first place if somebody knows
that a lot of this even though he didn't
prove himself he could shiksa.
Shiksa
lucky Ravina
because anybody that deals with shiksa
knows his stuff he knows that a lot of
this and you don't have to give him a
test. Lucky shiksa and if you say in
Ravina
we're talking about somebody who didn't
faint three times.
>> [clears throat]
>> We're not so concerned about people
fainting. Rav
how come Rav doesn't say like a buyer
that a
we're talking about a and his
this guy standing there because
he proved that you don't need that that
if a person is
that's good enough.
A buyer
that we're talking about a that's
don't prove to me from the wine that
takes two hours to to to to seal and and
and and and what's the word and use a
you going to use that
hair dryer and all it's a big process to
get the seal well good and then he's
worried that somebody's going to walk in
on him. So
over there the the guy doesn't have a
touch the wine and he's scared he's
going to get caught red handed or
over here he has he has permission to do
the shiksa.
Rav
who says that we're talking about a
he doesn't say like a buyer and Rav
because they are the same. They're both
a buyer and Rav are talking about they
are not real
they don't have the right to shiksa.
A buyer
Rav doesn't say like Rav that that he's
a Rav.
What? You don't have to say that in Rav.
You're pushing Rav to
You say Rav doesn't hold that each of
them also the other one's reason.
You can say Rav doesn't hold a
Rav because Rav
and he doesn't hold of a buyer because
shiksa.
You don't have to push him into Okay but
he does it's much easier. It's much
easier. You're making a that that that
the shiksa are you miss. You don't have
to maybe three out shots he holds it I
don't know.
By the way Rav wrote this. He knows what
he's talking about. Rav
I hold I hold I
I'm telling you. He wrote the Rav. A
buyer [snorts]
Rav Rav says.
And a buyer doesn't say like Rav we're
talking about a he
holds the Rav. Because he doesn't hold
that a Rav could shiksa. A Rav my my
but why does
Rav hold that a Rav could shiksa? Why
doesn't he say that? He says 100% he
does. A Rav is going to say that shot
that our mission is talking about a
He could shiksa if you're standing
there. And so why do you say it's
talking about a
the buyer
call my he's just trying to fix a buyer.
You a buyer say it's talking about a
don't say it's talking about a
it's talking about a
doesn't hold that Rav
have a wonderful day.
