But if you know this inside out, you could start learning the the first Mishna. But we got to talk about this, the pros and the cons of why a lot of people don't learn and how we could overcome those cons. They say it's too fast. It's true. It's very fast. They say it can't retain. It's very true. It's so fast and it goes in one ear, goes out the other ear. But that I can tell you over time, even people like myself that don't have a great memory. There's so much. There's so much repetition. You see the same over and over. We're going to learn about today. We're going to learn about certain things that a lot of people don't know. And like people that are here in the like, of course, this is so posh. It's simple. And this is a big one. A lot of guys that came out of yeshiva, they're stuck in neon. I say stuck. It's a good thing to learn. It's the best way to learn. But for a balab bus who doesn't learn the whole day and he only has a little time and he's convinced he's going to find to learn. But for my experience, every single person I ever asked, so you have news. How's it going? Not bad. Not bad. New. How many days a week do you learn with the It's supposed to be five days a week. New and tlas. No. No. We're good. We're good. We We do at least one day. Two days a week. If you're lucky, if you're lucky in the beginning, this guy goes to this guy this that it's great, but it's not consistent. And people learn after a while and it hurts. They say, "Listen, I only do I can't do this stuff. It's not for me." and at the end of the day they realize when they do that they haven't learned in who knows how long I just the shabas I saw a guy a great learner great learner didn't open up a safer once not the whole shabas why cuz that not used to it if it's not like the this and that so a shabas comes shabas goes but it should be like fillain you you learn every day you put on fillin every day you learn every day shouldn't be a thing that you go a whole day without learning to I keep falling behind. That's a big problem. People miss a daf and they become discouraged. They miss three daff. They have a sim. They have something else going on in their life. And here's the number one tip. The number one tip of MDY. It saved hundreds maybe thousands of people to stay on the DAFF. And that is that you're going to fall behind. You are going to miss the daff here and there. It's not it's not a question. It's not a question if, it's a question when, and it happens. Your daughter gets married, a little procedure in the hospital, a little cataract, whatever it is, you're going to miss a daff. So then what do you do? And the trick is, this is the biggest number one trip trick. You don't make it up. If you could get that into your head, you'll win. And if you fight it, because a lot of people fight it, but what at the end they come back and they say, "You know what? I should have listened to you. I thought I was smarter. I'm a perfectionist." And a perfectionist cannot skip. I tell you, yeah, yeah, I know because I'm also perfectionist. And I learned it on myself. The only way to be successful and not fall is to skip. And the best way to skip is to write it down. Write down which daff you skip and be with cla because that's one of the beauties of daff is that all of is doing this da if you're in Mexico and if you're wherever you are and want to say shalom to the guys maybe we have a clip all the Spanish speakers I have to say shamikum to them well they're actually they're more in the Hebrew yeah but they're starting today they're starting it's going to go everywhere to all Panama where else do they speak Spanish are I can't even pronounce Spain. It's not how much you learn. It's not how much you remember. It's not how much you understand. It's that you're learning every single day. No matter what you're on a trip, you're on people say it's the first time in their life that they went on some trip with their wife and they brought a gam with them and they actually before they went out on a to do that day's tour whatever it is they learned the daf in the morning that that's what makes the difference that you're learning the dish you're learning the shabas we had here over a hundred people packed like sardines in this room every single day shabas at 10 10:30 we're sitting here and the next year is coming at 11:15 and they're not going to get out of here until 12:30 because every single day we do the daff no matter what whether you have a child that day whether you're making a bar mitzvah we're doing the daff every single day and it hits you all of a sudden wow I can't believe it I'm doing this every single day I have never learned like this never since my days in yeshiva and if I could do that I could do a lot of other things including including exercise, including including you start adding little things to your life and you realize it all starts at the D. And for the new people, you have to understand it takes time to create a new habit. But once you create that new habit, it could take 40 days, 60 days, 90 days at most. When you get into that habit, nothing in the world will break it. nothing. A lot of people that come to the night share here, they don't even go to weddings anymore unless it's like uh their own daughter or something like that. They won't go to the wedding. >> Seriously, they go they'll go at 10 10:30 for 2 minutes and in and out. It becomes a new life. It becomes so ingrained in you. There's nothing that could stop you. Nothing. Everything's like what's going to be with the daff? I can't do I'll do it before I go to the wedding in the morning. I don't know what the the daff is the daff. It will change your life. discussed that it was and again not to knock on I learned my entire life including six years after I got married. I'm proun I'm pro- learning but I'm anti not learning at all and if this is the best solution that we have and the daf works for people that learn as well that [clears throat] they don't learn some people do but the amount of it's unbelievable how many people in this room raise your hand know What [snorts] is Did you learn the DA already today? >> Okay.
