>> There's a few people in the room that
Musl was the very first Summ.
I know at least one
you who else anybody for very first
time.
>> Okay, so just one. Now a few people sent
in videos and all sorts of things. I'll
show you tomorrow.
I want to take uh the time that I
usually read emails and that sort of
thing to discuss some very important
things. First of all, I want to remind
them to say I want to welcome
I don't know the number in English the
the English speakers. I know that for
the Hebrew over 2,000 people joined the
Hebrew Shir. Usually English is more,
but this time I'm not sure about that. I
didn't get any numbers. They didn't give
me any numbers in America. I don't know.
In the hundreds, over a thousand. I I
don't know. It's a lot. A lot of
statuses. You all the people that send
statuses because they did a big campaign
different people. A lot of people sent
statuses. Um we had over here inro we
had to is a very famous radio
personality he brought over 200 people
there's a lot of kayak and he he uh did
a status and then you have somebody like
Kobe Cella also very powerful person
he's a media person and um basically
he sent me a message I'll just say the
message
he says that a guy came over to him
during our scene show you a quick video
of the sem
maybe as I'm speaking. Here we go.
>> Very large. So he says like this it's
very important. says, "A guy comes over
to me and says, "You might not know me,
but because of you, I'm making my very
first and he brought him a bottle of
wine and he choked up and he forgot to
ask the guy his name." So when I said it
during the Hebrew, the guy was obviously
listening and he sent in his name.
What's his name?
>> Sheil.
>> Sheil. He's a singer or something. And
then the guy sent another another um uh
basically he sent him a written text
message and over there he says I should
read it. I should really read it because
his words are beautiful. He says
this is how he changed my life. I left
Mosha. His name is Misha. I left Mosha
back there. Today I don't speak during
kadesh because of this year. Today I say
today I do this like he gives him a list
of three four things that his life has
changed. So basm all the new guys you'll
see that
the she has the ability to change your
life in small ways little things but
those little things they add up they
become big somebody mentioned that
during the sum
no one was speaking during kadesh he
looked around the 6 700 people and
somebody said kadesh everybody's quiet
so for that even just that just that isu
>> [applause]
>> I'm very excited.
A good friend of mine tried to get him
on the shar for a while and he promised
me. He says, "When Kun comes around, I'm
going to join the shar." And I said,
"You know, we don't we don't do it like
that. You got to join now." He said,
"No, no, hold on. Hold on."
He's a good friend of the Sheir and uh
he's a good friend of Cly Israel. So,
I'm happy that he's joining. And if you
know him, give [clears throat] him a
stickle push.
>> All right, Rebelli, this is going to be
fantastic.
Looking forward to it. I was there with
you guys and I said that I am going to
join on. So I got to get it together and
add it to the repertoire of learning to
mdy
>> learns a lot.
>> This is it.
is about to begin and we got to uh we
got to keep our word in this year to
join the greatest shar Mitashem the
great sheer of Ali Stansky my dear
friend and uh it's going to be electric
to enjoy and to learn and to realize
what uh what's going on with the animals
>> looking forward rebell sending lots of
love cannot wait
>> all right so if you know him give him a
give him a little push once in a while.
A little and uh I have I have a new
a new appreciation for Yakov.
Somebody just told me that he's a great
basketball player. I never knew that.
>> It's another it's another by me. It's
another
>> Yeah, that's how I made my my my one and
only was based on the court. He was the
number one on the court. It goes right
up there. That's how it works. All
right. So, I do this every and I got to
do it again.
This is this is uh it's good for the
people that are here since the beginning
and it's good for everybody. But if you
know this inside out, you could start
learning the the first Mishna. But we
got to talk about this,
the pros and the cons of why a lot of
people don't learn and how we could
overcome those cons.
They say it's too fast. It's true. It's
very fast. They say it can't retain.
It's very true. It's so fast and it goes
in one ear, goes out the other ear. But
that I can tell you over time, even
people like myself that don't have a
great memory. There's so much. There's
so much
repetition. You see the same over and
over. We're going to learn about today.
We're going to learn about certain
things that a lot of people don't know.
And like people that are here in the
like, of course, this is so posh. It's
simple.
And this is a big one. A lot of guys
that came out of yeshiva,
they're stuck in neon.
I say stuck. It's a good thing to learn.
It's the best way to learn.
But for a balab bus who doesn't learn
the whole day and he only has a little
time and he's convinced he's going to
find to learn. But for my experience,
every single person I ever asked, so you
have news. How's it going? Not bad. Not
bad. New. How many days a week do you
learn with the It's supposed to be five
days a week. New and tlas. No. No. We're
good. We're good. We We do at least one
day. Two days a week. If you're lucky,
if you're lucky in the beginning, this
guy goes to this guy this that it's
great, but it's not consistent. And
people learn after a while and it hurts.
They say, "Listen, I only do I can't do
this stuff. It's not for me." and at the
end of the day they realize when they do
that they haven't learned in who knows
how long
I just the shabas I saw a guy a great
learner great learner didn't open up a
safer once not the whole shabas why cuz
that not used to it if it's not like the
this and that so a shabas comes shabas
goes but it should be like fillain you
you learn every day you put on fillin
every day you learn every day shouldn't
be a thing that you go a whole day
without learning to
I keep falling behind. That's a big
problem. People miss a daf and they
become discouraged. They miss three
daff. They have a sim. They have
something else going on in their life.
And here's the number one tip. The
number one tip of MDY. It saved hundreds
maybe thousands of people to stay on the
DAFF. And that is that you're going to
fall behind. You are going to miss the
daff here and there. It's not it's not a
question. It's not a question if, it's a
question when, and it happens.
Your daughter gets married,
a little procedure in the hospital, a
little cataract, whatever it is, you're
going to miss a daff. So then what do
you do? And the trick is, this is the
biggest number one trip trick. You don't
make it up. If you could get that into
your head, you'll win. And if you fight
it, because a lot of people fight it,
but what at the end they come back and
they say, "You know what? I should have
listened to you. I thought I was
smarter. I'm a perfectionist." And a
perfectionist cannot skip. I tell you,
yeah, yeah, I know because I'm also
perfectionist. And I learned it on
myself. The only way to be successful
and not fall is to skip. And the best
way to skip is to write it down. Write
down which daff you skip and be with cla
because that's one of the beauties of
daff is that all of is doing this da if
you're in Mexico and if you're wherever
you are and want to say shalom to the
guys maybe we have a clip all the
Spanish speakers I have to say shamikum
to them well they're actually they're
more in the Hebrew yeah but they're
starting today they're starting it's
going to go everywhere to
all Panama where else do they speak
Spanish are I can't even pronounce
Spain. They speak Spanish in Spain.
>> Oh, and he writes, I'm not joking. And
Miami. They speak Spanish in Miami. Yes,
there's a lot of Spanish speakers there.
So, so that's the number one trick.
Great. What are the positives? It's not
about the dove. It's about the yoy.
Okay. So, what does that mean? People
say it. People know what it is. It's not
about the dav. It's about the yoy. says
that
and this is probably one of the biggest
reasons why the DAFF changes so many
people's lives and they write in all
these emails on a daily basis because of
this the daily the
365. It's not how much you learn. It's
not how much you remember.
It's not how much you understand. It's
that you're learning
every single day. No matter what you're
on a trip, you're on people say it's the
first time in their life that they went
on some trip with their wife and they
brought a gam with them and they
actually before they went out on a to do
that day's tour whatever it is they
learned the daf in the morning that
that's what makes the difference that
you're learning the dish you're learning
the
shabas we had here over a hundred people
packed like sardines in this room every
single day shabas at 10 10:30 we're
sitting here and the next year is coming
at 11:15 and they're not going to get
out of here until 12:30 because every
single day we do the daff no matter what
whether you have a child that day
whether you're making a bar mitzvah
we're doing the daff every single day
and it hits you all of a sudden wow I
can't believe it I'm doing this every
single day I have never learned like
this never since my days in yeshiva and
if I could do that I could do a lot of
other things including including
exercise, including
including you start adding little things
to your life and you realize it all
starts at the D.
And for the new people, you have to
understand it takes time to create a new
habit. But once you create that new
habit,
it could take 40 days, 60 days, 90 days
at most. When you get into that habit,
nothing in the world will break it.
nothing. A lot of people that come to
the night share here, they don't even go
to weddings anymore unless it's like uh
their own daughter or something like
that. They won't go to the wedding.
>> Seriously, they go they'll go at 10
10:30 for 2 minutes and in and out. It
becomes a new life. It becomes so
ingrained in you. There's nothing that
could stop you. Nothing. Everything's
like what's going to be with the daff? I
can't do I'll do it before I go to the
wedding in the morning. I don't know
what the the daff is the daff.
It will change your life. discussed that
it was and again not to knock on I
learned my entire life including six
years after I got married. I'm proun I'm
pro- learning
but I'm anti not learning at all and if
this is the best solution that we have
and the daf works for people that learn
as well
that [clears throat]
they don't learn
some people do but the amount of
it's unbelievable
how many people in this room raise your
hand know What [snorts] is
Did you learn the DA already today?
>> Okay. So, you know, so you have two,
three people, two, three people that
know
didn't raise his hand. I know that for a
fact he knows what it is.
So, you have four people in the room.
Five people maybe you six people.
Hagr. You know what? Hagril,
you know what? She is she people say I
don't I kind of know what she is.
So just mim that we're going to learn
today today on day one that we didn't
know yesterday
is so full of ideas and concepts. So
just so you go through it fast. Okay. At
least you know at least you learned it
in you get to learn it again. If you
didn't learn in this world everybody's
going to be talking about Groma. They're
like ah you're out of it. They they say
no no you don't belong here. You didn't
learn it. come back a different day.
All right. The fact that MDY is family,
I'm not going to get into. It's a It's a
beautiful thing that people help each
other in all sorts of levels, with
money, with time, with rides to the
airport, people sleep at each other's
homes. Like a guy goes to America, he
has 100 people he go to. People pick him
up from the airport. They they show them
a good time over there. MDY is family in
many, many ways. People help each other
in learning. They they they help each
other out to see if they're doing the
daft. give him.
It's
and
it's going to bring Mashiach. Why?
Because if you look around in this room,
you look around, everybody knows the
variety of people from
to lit
>> to
He's brought up a year ago he didn't
know what was. He says uncle Lewis and
now he [snorts] finished
from beginning to end because of this
year. [applause]
[applause]
>> And you have you have here you have with
guns. Where's your gun? Y
>> he's a rocket scientist but he's in the
Yeah, seriously. He's a rocket scientist
and he's uh he works for whatever we
don't want to say now on YouTube
but some of the the technology that
helped Israel recently with the missiles
coming in missiles going out but he's uh
he's aim he decided to to show whatever
we have that and then right next to him
down the thing on on a on a on a daily
basis we have the with the with the with
the with the zebras have all sorts of we
have sitting here comes every single And
we have guys that that learned that took
Fer and 2700 2200 DAFF come every day.
Where's Liby? Usually usually sits here.
Oh, he's right over here.
It's in my face. All right. Bikitser. We

Here we go.
By the way,
I have to just throw it out there. It's
a like
which people there are some in hagim to
fast before you start learning it. Some
say because you you point on yourself on
your neck.
some people say if you're learning
magnum the best thing is to to give a
little
and uh
we learned we learn every ine
and uh
[clears throat] if that's what does it
for you a little do that
does anybody know what
means
No, I'm sure there's a few people here
just a little shy. Another thing we're
going to learn today another
so we're going to be talking about not
so much in the just general. So bought
some knives here. Now I have them in my
collection.
Oh,
I want to open up a fresh one. I've
never
It's almost the same size. This one,
it's in [snorts] the plastic still.
It's very scary to use this.
What I don't do for the shear.
This is the real deal.
This one is uh 7 700 bucks. This is
another I don't know $500, something
like that.
And it goes up from there.
This you do with a knife.
Question. Everybody say question. Could
you do with plastic knife? Anybody? Just
if you think not, raise your hand. If
you think yes, raise your hand.
>> Yes. Plastic. Yes. Raise your hand.
Plastic. You know, raise your hand.
>> Where's everybody? I only see five and
five. Again, again, everybody has to
raise your hand. If you don't raise your
hand, there's people out there that need
your seat. Hold on a second. You ready?
No plastic. Raise your hand. No plastic.
So, I see uh 10 15 people. No plastic.
Yes, plastic.
So, most of the room says yes, plastic.
Okay. Some don't know. If you don't
know, raise your hand.
The answer is yes, plastic. Why not?
Yeah. Yeah.
>> You're allowed to You're allowed to use
plastic.
Doesn't say anywhere in the t what you
have to use.
>> Okay. Like this.
>> One minute. It's time out.
>> How about like this?
>> You brought your own things? You trying
to up
>> trying to up me? [laughter]
Hold on a second. Uh Benny, where's my
stuff? My pipes.
>> No.
>> No, it's not inside.
>> Ah, inside here.
Oh,
>> okay. Raoai. Whoa. Whoa. Watch my table,
please.
Okay.
This Raboi is the Connor. Connor. We
have a a trachea and esophagus.
How do you say conor in English?
>> Trachea. This is the windpipe.
Um, as a matter of fact, here in
they they take these out of the animal
and they make air conditioner pipes
wherever you go. [laughter]
This is what it looks like exactly as
it's cartilage and it's tough. So if
somebody punches you in the neck, you
could continue breathing because if it
was like a muscle, it would collapse,
you know, it would be hard. It would be
like mushy. This one
is the esophagus. This is where the food
goes down and it's very it's flexible.
It's like a muscle. So when you're
looking at the animal
they're one behind the other and means
they have to cut right through these two
pipes. Two simon it's called the two
pipes the trachea and the take the knife
and you you go like this.
A bird also has both of them. But yeah,
[snorts]
you're going to first hit this guy and
then you're going to go through this
one. And that's what we're learning
about the different
what's bad, what's good, who could do
it.
Anybody could check. Even
>> anybody could check. What does that
mean? Anybody? Even a woman could check.
Now I want it's a question why doesn't
Ty says they're scared of blood they
could faint there's uh the min is that
they don't say
[clears throat] now if we just look at
these words because this is what we're
going to be dealing these words we're
going to be dealing with today and
tomorrow the first four words
so why Does it say it says anybody could
check?
So would mean just pointing it out here
because we're going to be saying it over
and over means
means in the first place. Anybody in the
first place there's nothing stopping
anyone
is after the fact. It's only kosher
after the fact. In other words, we're
talking about two different situations
and we have to see what they are. The
six ways to to learn this mish
who cannot do a
Yeshua is back.
>> In the house is in the house. Look who
he brought here. He's not back. He's
been here, but he doesn't come every
day. Yeshua and Pris was with us on day
one. He started this year. He went
outside and slept people off the street,
including Rabbi Schoberg on day one.
>> Who else?
Who? I don't know who you're pointing
at. I can't see who
>> straight off the street.
>> Oh, you just brought him off the street
now.
>> What's your name?
>> Great.
Three people don't have enough deres
is someone who is a deaf mute not just a
person who's
deaf. A deaf mute
is pretty much look around this room
pretty much everybody here
besides you [laughter]
and a young child. Do we have any young
children here? Is anybody anybody Oh,
here he is. Come here. The young child.
Tell everybody about how many How many
did you finish?
>> Come, come, come, come. You'll be our
first
>> first carbon. Exactly.
>> Do you want to hold us?
>> Yes.
>> I I trust you. You're not going to try
to do anything to me, right?
Okay. Okay. How old are you?
>> 11.
>> 11. So you're a cotton mama is a cotton
cotton, right? Are you smarter than all
the
No. How many do you do with MDY?
>> Um 365.
>> 365.
>> Wow. [applause]
We already did this for her before. How
many do you miss throughout the year?
>> Nothing.
>> Zero.
>> Wow. Okay. So you're really a god in in
terms of you you learn more daf gum than
many many out there. I mean not I mean
that are above 13.
So this guy it's a he's a great hands on
we have we have it's all
what's your name again [applause]
what
>> right? You were you were like a
thumbnail one one like a week ago. No.
Weren't you on the
>> the front of the shear? Your picture was
That's called a thumbnail. Yeah. Yeah, I
know. He doesn't know. Now you know what
a thumbnail is.
>> No, not this. Yeah. Okay. Okay, great.
How do you say thumbnail in Hebrew?
Ysef, how do you say thumbnail in
Hebrew?
>> Thumbnail. Thumbnail. Thumbnail.
Thumbnail.
can't do it.
They're going to mess up the guys. Guys,
it's going to be soon pretty much like
in we're going to take people that sit
in the front of the class. We're going
to put them in the back and people that
behave nicely in the back are going to
come to the front. You want to switch?
>> Too bad. We're going to do it
forcefully.
Oh, so this is another thing that we
have to we're going to be discussing
and I want to point it out here in the
Mishna so we see it says
cannot do the
could it go on we just said
so should say
not like everybody else besides the
people that we discussed.
If there was a witness, one guy, one
okay,
so we're going to have to see what this
means. All the entire Mishna, it's a
short Mishna, three lines, but we don't
have a lot of explanation here. If
there's a there's a a witness that saw
this, then it's okay. Even though it
shouldn't be okay, but if he witnessed
it, he's he's watching it. He saw the
whole thing. It's good. By the way, it's
just I just I looked around in my in my
I looked around on the shelf and there's
only three volumes left of
that's it. And then the is over. It's
unbelievable. You reminded me because
you do that the done thing. Okay.
Here
I made a little chart for you guys
the words the the two first words means
what does mean in the first place I'll
explain what that means
means after the fact one is green like
this perfect it's great keep on going
and is like not the best in the world
what does that mean so to understand let
me just show show you. This
is a promo for Hulen. A very nice promo
that our guys did.
I don't
Good morning. Ra boy
to have something like this. It looks
like it's closed the bottle milk, but
the can still pour out of it. It's not a
problem.
If you pour milk into the chong,
bring the daft to life within.
Okay. So, there's a story that happened,
a true story
where a guy, he dropped some butter into
his ch. He asked the rabbi, "What's
that?" And the rabbi said, "It's
bottle." He said there's enough ch that
it overcomes the butter grade. So then
he went from that day on for the rest of
his life. And he put a little butter in
the ch.
What? What's that? That's the And in
other words means in the first place.
Can I go put butter into my ch in the
first place? No. But after the fact,
after it happened and you go ask a
rabbi, he'll say, "Okay,
[panting]
Rebe, my chant is not tasty. Can I pour
in two drops of milk? It will be bottle
bishim."
>> No, that is a sue.
I was cooking fleic soup and by mistake
two drops of milk fell in. What do I do?
>> The soup is kosher since it already
happened.
It is bellish.
So as the
first two words of the seems like you
could just go ahead and do it no matter
what.
as the is going to explain why the
double it should say
what's on you say of course the
first two words mean in the first place
and the second words mean so what's
going on here
every time it says is
it means it's in the first place
just you could say a ver here
that a lot of times you ask somebody why
do you do that
what's what's up with this thing that
you do he says everybody does it
everybody does it
says just because everybody does it
makes it okay it's not Okay.
What is tomorrow? So, that used to be my
favorite question to ask people. I'm
going to I'm going to stop. I'm going to
ask what's from now on. We're going to
ask what's
tomorrow? So, everybody that's in MDY
for a little bit of time knows
means that if I set aside a designated
animal, I said this animal should be I'm
watching the old tires. They're already
sleeping because it's so clever. But you
ask a guy in the street that never did
that, they won't know. Well, 80% of the
people won't know.
Tamura is, it seems like a great thing
to do. You have an animal, right, Ellie?
Imam is bored. Tell tell me what it is.
What is it?
>> Switch animal for a better one.
>> Switch an animal for a better one. You
have an animal that you said I I'm
designating this as an let's say as aim
and then I come across a much nicer
animal. So, it would make sense to bring
the nicer animal to Hashem. So you say
this second animal should be instead of
the first. That's is it's awesome to do.
It's called the second animal gets the
same exact designation as the first. You
have to treat the second one as the
first. The first remains like the first.
The second one remains like the first
and everything's great. It looks
something like this.
He feels bad. He's bringing a small one
to He wants the bigger one.
Oh,
so that's more that's also but it says
in the in the mission over there
everybody could do it meaning even
somebody that inherits okay whatever the
is but the bottom line is it seems like
it's so according to what you're telling
me that means in the first place so it
seemed like you could do
means that you could do it. It says
you should not switch a good one with a
bad one. Meaning one that doesn't have a
blemish with one that has a blemish.
We're showing a large one, a small one.
The point is even if it's a good if it's
better, you still can't do it. Says
that's not a question because over there
the Mishna goes ahead and explains
itself.
over there it says the reason
it's not because it's
because if you go ahead and you do it
you'll get malus in other words the
Mishna explains already that don't say
that you should do it that it's a mitz
to do the opposite if you do it you get
malus but by
means it's in the first place
says
Oh, so as usual, you go through and
learn so many new here's the of what
does mean? Anybody know?
The Tory says that if somebody looks at
somebody else and says,
"Ah, you mean?" Yeah. Okay. Yeah,
very good.
Okay, you're saying next week this this
Yeah, you
>> Yeah, very good. It's coming up
that what by the way did anybody pay
attention today in we talk spoke about
the upon him did not jump out of the the
first time jumps out you know the are
you know the whole thing is beautiful m
is beautiful
you know let me say a real I'll say a
quick story I I forgot to say it during
the whole I said it in the past it's a
famous story but say and mish fits in
with the end of the and it's shabas in
the seven minutes left of the here. So,
I might as well just say it
real quickly.
That comes from Portugal comes to sh
Europe and the rabbi is talking about
the upon him and they bring the whole
thing. So, he comes home and he tells
his wife, I want to bring upon him make
me a couple breads. I want to bring to
the upon him. So, she makes him two and
he brings it to the to the medish.
Nobody's there. He runs over to the
ardesh and he says,
"I want to give you these two breads
special for you." He puts them down by
the araidesh. He comes back for Friday
night and they're gone. He's so excited.
He said, "Hashem probably took them."
He went home. He told his wife, "Hashem,
listen to my he took the breads." And
like this every week she would make two
breads. He goes to the puts them down.
Hashem should accept them. And sure
enough, he accepts them.
One day he puts his two breads down and
he's talking to Hashem. He's saying,
"Hashem, please take my breads." Whole
thing. And the RV happened to be there.
He was like setting up for Shabas. And
the RV runs over and he says, "Mush,
what are you doing? What are you crazy?
Out of your mind? You think Hashem eats
breads? What are you doing?" And he he
makes a whole commotion. And then the
the the gave comes in. And the gave
says,
"What do you mean you eat? I I you're
the person that puts the two breads
here. Every single sh I bring it home. I
give it to my wife. This guy is so and
the rabbi yelled at him. He found out
it's not that takes his bread. He comes
home. Mom is crying.
Dizal
sends a messenger to the RV and says to
the RV,
"You better get ready. Tell your family
that you're going bye-bye."
So the RV says, "Bye-bye." runs to Dar
says, "What happened?" He says, "You're
not going to make it. Tomorrow is your
last day. Say goodbye." He said,
"Because
Hashem was so happy about this guy. The
guy brought a carbon and he he believed
it and he he brought me a carbon and now
you took away Hashem's carbon." And it
fits in with the whole the whole
everything we learned in the last that
says
person he didn't know. He made a mistake
but he thought he's bringing a carbon.
That's what wants
us
to to give and to give from our heart.
So again a person looks at somebody else
and he says I want to give whatever
you're worth in the
thera to the md. So you look at this
chart and you say let's take the green
the green cow any anybody that's between
the age of five and 20 you go down if
he's a zar 20 if he's an aa 10 look at
somebody between the age of 20 and 60
most of the people in this room they're
worth 50
uh ana 30 look what happens when you
turn 60 know your value [snorts] seven
years you drop
you drop from a 50 to 15 wow this It's
it's it's it's brutal. Okay. So, Huh.
>> Right. Right. Uh relatively she doesn't
drop that much. She doesn't drop. She
drops from 30 to Okay. Maybe it's the
same kind of Okay. Fine.
No.
Okay.
>> Yeah. Okay.
So, anybody can do this. I could do it
to you. You could do it to me. So,
Somebody could say I want Ellie
Stfansky. Now Ellie Stfansky is on the
blue column between 20 and 60 is worth
50. Not because I'm a good slave. That's
what the Tyra says. The other thing is
you go by slave. How much is this guy
his true value in the market? If I were
to sell him as a slave, how much is he
worth? If he's nice, musculine, strong,
great. If he's avah, potbelly, the whole
thing, he's a little worth less. So
that's already
That's a different thing. Okay. But it
says
you should do this in the first place.
You should say I want to give them like
so and so. It's not a good thing. Why?
If you stop promising, then you won't
have a sin. Meaning, if you do promise,
you will have a sin.
It's better that you shouldn't promise
than to promise and don't pay. It's even
more than that. This is
better not to make another at all.
You would think
if a guy's uh
if a guy if a guy's in and he and he uh
he buys uh
for a lot of money. Does he get a
mitzvah?
>> So before he pays, does he get any
mitzvah? The round in the dorm says he
gets zero mitzvah. Zero until he pays.
You guys are right. I thought you need
the for that. You don't get a mit to to
now what's the so that also I said once
before just recently reviewed says
what's the that if you don't pay of
course of course you did a bad thing is
some people think you know they hire
these people these uh
professionals to up the bids.
So, oh, you think you're doing a great
thing, you know, at a dinner or
something there's a, you know, there's a
bit guys bit more because they're
helping Israel. They're helping this
institution. No, just cuz you're
helping. That's what that's the bot. I
told you I was in a I couldn't believe
it. And in the middle of just a regular
week, the guy that got an aliyah like
rev he's like $18,000.
What? It's like, wow. The guy next to me
says, "Don't don't worry. That's
nothing. He's he's he's in the poppers
here.
Next guy, $18,000 to the Shaw, but
another $8,000 to the library. Another
$18,000 to this. And then the next guy
is $50,000. It was crazy. And then I got
an Ali.
[laughter] That was brutal.
10 18 cents. And
now I'm a gr. I'm not allowed to say
numbers. Don't worry about it. It'll be
good. Yeah.
argues and he says if you if you make a
neader that you're going to give to daka
and you pay that's great but continues
now again there's another thing that
everybody in MDY knows what's the
difference between a nether and a nava
nava is dava and that's in the zoo
So when you say zoo, you're pointing to
a particular animal and you're saying
I'm going to bring this animal as a
carbon and what if something happens to
this animal? You're off the hook. But if
you say then you're not off the hook
means I will bring it no matter what. So
says
why does say
if you make a nether and you pay it's
great only when he says zoo because then
he's not nothing nothing can happen
nothing wrong will happen to him because
worse comes to worse something will
happen to the animal
like is I take upon myself what if you
don't pay it it's a bad thing no good
okay so we have a problem
>> even if
Yeah,
>> even if you pay. But he said at right
when he says I have a problem paying
later is not the
says
B. Oh, I should really say the sponsor
attorney sponsor global special
financial services.
So now you're telling so okay so is not
is after the fact but how could that be?
It says
everybody's
since this became a fashion thing in
Israel especially a lot of kids and I
was shocked and the imam is disturbed.
They had a picture that came out of of
this kid that got some worker in a pizza
shop got killed and the killers Jewish
kids were wearing tits.
Two of them at least were wearing it's
crazy.
Everybody's
so now you tell me means only after the
fact.
You don't in the first place you don't
have to go in a you don't have to wear
it since you have four four corner
garment
says no
it says yeah when the word goes together
with the word
then of course in the first place
they take out the word because we just
learned that a woman is not in
here
Sometimes when you bring a carb on, you
put your all your body weight on the the
carbon's head.
So everybody should do even somebody
that inherits
says, "Okay, fine. I give up. You prove
to me that means you should do it in the
first place." We proved before that
is not in the first place. So what is
it?
Or is in the first place, but there's
other places that's not in the first
place. So what is it?
Sometimes means in the first place,
sometimes it means after the fact.
So as
you say, I don't know. At least I used
to say it in Yiddish.
Oh, defash. You ever heard this this
line in Yeshiva? They used to say it.
You make Yeah, you heard it. You Is that
how you say it or you say it
differently? Something like that? Yeah.
Say it.
>> Say it.
>> Okay, good.
You're making an assumption and then you
ask me questions. Don't make an
assumption. Don't ask questions. You
made an assumption in our
means in the first place. And then you
ask me a question. But the
is not is
you ask me a contradiction within the
first four words means in the first
place. So then why do you say
it means only? No. Maybe in our means
and then it fits right in to to the
words right afterwards. Only after the
fact
after the fact.
No, because of the wording. I had a
major problem with the wording.
The second part of it is means that it's
only after the fact
then the first words it can't be. We're
going just back to these words, right?
It can't be that means and means. Why?
Because then why is the mission
repeating itself?
So for that we have an answer that what
means one thing
means another thing. There two different
stories and there's six different ways
to learn it. We're going to learn one or
two today.
H I was going to tell you a story but
it's going to have to wait tomorrow. Put
the story right over here. Great.
Number one,
somebody who's Tommy.
You become tom by touching a dead person
by touching a dead mouse.
by touching somebody who himself is avat
because they're talking about he's not
in the md he's a like every today is
they all day long even though they
what's the problem
says
what's
so the first words of the
is talking about somebody Tommy, but
what's the there? There's no
Oh,
we're talking about something special.
What does it mean? There are people who
Wow, it's late. I feel bad for the
Israelis, but it's the first daffin, so
we gota we can't rush. There are people
who
because they want to eat a carbon coming
up whatever it is they want to they want
to they want practice. So what do they
do to get practice? They pretend every
time they they make they they pretend
that it's they pretend it's a so they
say everything I on
on that should be like a carbon.
So what's the problem?
Problem is because
typically speaking
but because you accepted upon yourself
such a
yeah sometimes when you accept upon
yourself something that's mut
you you you you said this thing should
be awesome for you. Why did you do it?
Because you want to become kadesh. You
want to refrain from doing something
that you could but you don't. You want
to give yourself extra. That's how you
give yourself.
The says a person that does that it
becomes like what does it mean? Says in
the
should become when you give yourself
when you're pish from things. So he's
and he holds that when you do that
they you have to treat it like
nevertheless in other words if you're
you can't check something in the when
you're
not so I would say that if you're to you
can't check and you can't go to the and
you could as long as the going to say as
long as The knife is long. I wasn't
trying to play with the words over
there. It just came out like that. As
long as the knife is long.
How does he do it? Because he can't
touch it. Maybe he brings a long knife.
Oh,
you want to put it in? You know how to
do this? I'm going to bring this one
now. Sakaruka.
Wow.
Just look at this thing.
Sakaro,
you stand from a distance. I'm to I like
this from a distance.
The ratings would go up if I got cut
now. No,
>> there's a limit. There's a limit to what
I'm asking to do.
So what do you do? Maybe
you shouldn't touch the bus.
So that's
I could go I'm to I could go. First part
of the first two words of the Mishna is
talking about I'm Tom but I want a so
use a long knife the first place he
could do it
but when it's
then
well I shouldn't
have to be because I might touch
if I did it and then I go ask the rabbi
after the fact
I know for a fact I didn't
>> [snorts]
>> besides that's what the mission
continues to say. Someone that doesn't
have D then they cannot why because
maybe they will pause they'll cut cut
and pause.
Now I just want to show you this uh
video real quickly.
He uh this artist Shakar took from the
actual
he took from actual uh
footage. See those guys? They were real.
[music]
>> [singing]
>> to [music and singing]
[music]
[singing]
[music]
Foreign
speech. Foreign speech.
[music and singing]
[music]
I told him there's no more no more
making me looks that bad.
>> You have AI. You can fix it. Don't have
to make me look like that. Okay. So,
anyways, the tomorrow is going to ask if
the knife is metal. So, the metal
becomes tame and then
>> the the what?
>> Oh, that's the amount of people that are
waiting outside. Unbelievable. Okay. So,
let's let's let's hurry up here. Okay.
So, now Rabai, we're just going to go
through this real quickly because
could do something bad. They could do
something called
means they'll take the knife
and push down instead of cutting back
and forth. Instead of back and forth,
don't worry, Ellie. They push down.
That's a good What's the next one?
So, very cool. If you take a knife
and you cover the knife with a scarf
and you sh the animal, that's according
to one. But in other words, you're
covering the knife. What you do here in
this case and this is according to
everybody is if you're able to put the
knife in between the and the
and then you
that's why because it's being covered by
one of the
if you're able to stick it into the neck
of the animal before you do so the neck
is covering the knife and then you turn
the knife no good. Yeah, you got it. So,
hold on. What do we have here? Tracheio
vashet.
That's regular.
>> Wow. Beauty.
That's in between.
>> This is
pushing down.
>> That's good. Yeah,
>> that's bad.
>> Bad. This is bad. You don't want to go
down. You want to cut like a knife.
Slice. And this
would be Shahia.
What's she?
He's cut and then he stopped. Oh, what?
I don't know what happened over there.
Okay, that didn't look like she to me.
Okay, we got to talk to him about it.
[snorts]
So says the Gamaro.
So then the continuation of the Mishna
that if people saw somebody we said
watch the whole thing. What is it
talking about? By the way, get this
right. We're going to do this about six
times. These same words, these 30 words
tomorrow over and over and over again.
It says that anybody we talk about here,
let me show you. Here we go.
And then it says a second later
if there's one person to watch then it's
okay. Is it going on? It can't be
because that's not how you write it. You
write
not and if these three people that just
mentioned on top that's how you should
write it.
It should say not
maybe it's talking about the person
who's and he's not outside of English
not he's not just [snorts] regular
we just established those are the first
two words of the that he could do this
in the first place
perhaps you're talking about somebody
who's told and he went into
but you also said that if he knows that
he for sure didn't touch the animal. If
the himself says it, that's good enough.
So why do you need somebody to witness
that he's okay? Says because he's
talking about the
he ran away. We don't we can't we can't
reach him. So somebody else comes along
and says I saw that it was okay. He
didn't touch it. Then it's good.
What you telling me? Our Mishna is
telling us the bigish of somebody who's
taught me when and he can't he can't but
if he didn't touch it's okay we had this
because
it says a woman could do
it could do it
even with a carbon
as long as they don't touch So it's not
in our missions over there says over
here we're talking about so here's the
main thing
over there it's I've just mentioned it
because we're talking about other so we
threw it in the as well we should
remember this for tomorrow as well
because we're going to bring it up again
is the number one place because we're
talking about we want to say that
something
is
over here. It's
we're talking about
so it mentions also somebody who's
have a good a wonderful day for coming.
We're all going to finish the together.
