Courage in the Chaos - Shabbos Kestenbaum & Nathaniel “Nate Buzz” Buzolic
470 views
What do you say when someone looks you in the eye and asks if you’d ever give up your Judaism? In Courage in the Chaos, Shabbos Kestenbaum and @natebuzz sit down to talk identity, Israel, and what happens when a Christian with zero family ties chooses to stand with the Jewish people anyway. This is how a community heals - out loud, center stage, and for all to see. 📅 Premieres Sunday, December 7 🕛 PM EST - live during Unite to Heal 🌐 Watch more at UNITETOHEAL.COM

If I had the ability to change your
identity at the end of this interview,
you're no longer Jewish. Would you give
it up?
>> My Jewish identity? No, for sure not.
Judaism is not a component of my
identity. It is my identity.
>> You know, my name is Shabas Kenbam. I
wear a Yarmaka. I'm from an Orthodox
community. It's like, go figure. This
guy likes Israel. But when we have a guy
like Nate Buzz who does not have any
immediate personal or familial
attachments to Israel, we kind of are
taken back.
>> I first went to Israel in 2017.
Everything that people were saying about
apartheid, you know, genocide,
occupation was almost the opposite.
Culturally, what I've realized is the
Jewish identity and the culture of the
Jewish identity isn't really fit to
explain to a world who they are to
people who don't understand them.
>> The Bible says three things will be
true. You'll be small in number, check.
You'll be scattered across the world,
check. And you'll be hated. And it will
be an irrational hate, but you will
always be hated.
