with the one above for a miracle that our hostages be released ASAP especially as the enemy has supposedly according to the United States authorities has declared there'll be no more hostage release right now we know who could change that in an instant and let's continue to pray for our brother s and sisters in Israel JM and the am on a Tuesday Morning broadcast we actually have video going in our studio here in New York City this morning because it must have been I don't know how many days ago I guess I could check my texts or emails I don't know how how many days or weeks ago it was but I noticed that um country usy and heshy walfish were about to release and make available to the public their entire catalog that's what I saw I saw this somewhere the entire catalog was being offered uh to the uh to the global public of all the incredible country usy selections and anybody who was part of the country usy network over all these years you know Ki Tui and all those guys so when I saw this I I contacted country USI and said we've got to do some type of interview this is this is historic this is notor worthy this is too important to just pass by and I suggested that before kanuka since the entire catalog would be a great kanuka gift I suggested that before kanuka we get together in studio here at JM and the am and here we are we're still awaiting the arrival of heshy walfish but we do have the legendary country yussi here in our New York City Studio good morning country Yi good morning nak how are you w how am I I'm sitting in front of a legend great you're looking great the news that Bob Dyan sold his C for I think $350 million Paul Simon sold his entire catalog how much so I was about $420 million so I was hoping somebody would make an offer we have any takers out there anybody the is looking like he's considering so but nobody made an offer so we just uh we didn't actually uh release it it escaped basically like everybody else around so how many selections are there in the entire country USI catalog Network well there are 72 songs on the country USI USB right and uh there must be about U 60 or 70 on the K Andi did you include on did you incl include on either of them the these I remember selections this these I remember you did classic calls with name the five burrows of New York also is on there b Park flat crown for those who don't know you you came across some some pretty well- read people over the years and we immortalize them on on CD and now on USB how do you like that I'm I'm perusing I the truth is I wasn't perusing I was um I was sitting on Saturday night M job as I'm sitting on my couch and someone texts me yeah and they say did you see this week's Jewish views oh I was wondering if I should bring that and I and I said to myself and it was funny because there were a couple of articles that I that I did in fact read in the Jewish views over newspaper it is a great newspaper and arri H was here we did our big Studio opening and he's amazing and and um we're we're I'm sitting there and and here's the funniest thing here's that you'll appreciate it you have a great sense of humor literally moments after havdalah I toss out all the newspapers like that's it the week the week full of news news papers is gone and for some reason I say to myself you know what I'm not tossing about so quickly someone in fact text me like a half hour later did you see page 22 of of the Jewish views and I look and it's an article written by country USI They Call You country USI Tie by the way you're the new and improved country us not to be confused with any other country usy out there exactly and and you write about an encounter that you had in burrow Park Brooklyn and how unusual you felt it was that someone would recognize you because you're you're painting a picture as if you're St a normal regular looking guy right that's basically what you're saying you know radio personalties Who would know on the air classic C Who would know what you look like right exactly and then you write now n seagull is another story altogether he's handsome distinguished looking and 6' S I can't thank country enough for adding a couple of inches to my height I thought I was tall it up at 6'5 frankly uh and no matter where you put sticks out well I will tell you I've never walked into a room and somebody said oh I didn't notice he's in a western vest that is to be envied by anybody who considers themselves a fashion PL and this is not cheap either I I would imagine at this point in your career you're really spending on this Stu St right I mean you're going all out they had to kill two bulls to get this it's a black leather spectacular vest well at least we didn't kill a paruma you oh the pro the proofs in the pudding it is a black vest after all and then in the old days you had a certain look uh on top of your key if you will you had a certain uh uh uh you know cowboy hat um uh Ensemble that you would choose from yes I don't remember this one the one you have today I don't remember this one in your repertoire at any point is this in fact a new cowboy hat this is a new Cowboy had the old one wore out it's been it's 40 years old so we decided to get a new one specifically for this occasion are you happy with this one it's a very large brim those who will see the video later they'll see a very large brim not your I don't know if it's if it's considered a traditional cowboy hat would it be would it yeah this is a 10 gon hat it is and uh it fits right into my BAC surroundings sh nobody looks twice at me you know well the truth is now forget about being n seagull you walk down the street and that no one will doubt who you are they'll know exactly who you are exactly and is this really unique to us or on a typical Tuesday if you're on 13th Avenue if you're riding with your horse down 13th Avenue would you be wearing a hat like that i' be when I'm on the horse I wear the hat I wear the boots I wear the whole Chang but unfortunately I'm just walking nowhere unfortunately my horse Sim it's called Sinister horse he was Ned what happened he passed away he was hit by a garbage truck as I was driving down 13th Avenue holy cow and uh we had to uh that must have been quite an episode very who who was helpful was it sh oh is H who came to the rescue he knew what to do a horse gets hit H's on the spot he she has experience with dead horses very good very good he leftt it off the street and we sold it to go they made good use of it forun we were wondering how you were able to release the USB that's how we got the vest what a story I'm tell you just just I'm glad I brought up the vest only you could have got this story my gosh what a tale to say the least he's he's in our studio He's Country us he's it's posish for him you got you got the cat skills do whatever you want he said you're you're Russ Russ she material and he listened he never performed with us he doesn't perform and and we keep referring to him as SCH Brazil Brazil and he was offing a lot of money to appear at the house concerts and he wouldn't do it never did never did holy C well I I do have to take exception with you there was a time when schy sang with you oh let's hear was that it was at the anniversary remember that anniversary dinner the shos anniversary dinner in the restaurant oh yeah privately or sh dinner yeah he wasn't again singing he just wouldn't go on stage and do a whole production right so uh and then shash you know started taking in more and more B we moved out of the uh Aura building on BS and CT remember that edge across from the white in Far yeah then eventually we got I was out of there already at that point but now it's a beautiful gigantic yiva with hundreds of buam and thousands of work do you have to seclude yourselves in a room for hours to get Jingles like this or does it come to you as you're riding the subway how does this work as soon as we hear who the what the product is seriously as soon as the guy's willing to pay you never you never struggle with it you never sit there with writer's block no seriously you know what kind of Bara that is Jingles are pretty easy to write well I find that it depends who you are but yes I we yes he's very creative if you're doing K and Tuki is that also immed or some songs are immediate some songs you have to work on but you know usually uh inspiration strikes and you know you get the hook right away then you work around the hook oh did I get an angry email about you guys what you put out a country Us's Greatest Hits yeah good good morning call how do you do a good country us see greatest kid oh was it after the guy's nuts about the fact that there's no good morning CL you saw greatest the greatest came out first so wait greatest it's volume number two did you know well we put out actually you know that we put out the whole the whole catalog and good morning CLA strolls on there it is on there why is that such a do do you know that that's a you don't even know it you don't know that there are people out there who absolutely love that song well first of all it's a great song it is a great song it's a great song musically it's a great song and and the words just were that those were inspirational words a lot of songs that we wrote then that seem very apropo by the way by the way by the way I was almost criticized for leaving my two-month format of doing all Israel all the time here even last week Dr gorak was on the book about Marty Glickman a lot about anti-Semitism it really fit into the whole theme and people said country y see before I said I promise you that there's stuff in the catalog that is so appropriate for these times what do you have in mind why' you play no I didn't play anything I'm saying there's stuff that you have that's so appropriate for now you see that the video sometimes you got to fight when you're a Jew and they're showing his real bombing and that's a song Andi and the whole Kay's going to be there and M and are they all in the same page I know that sometimes Tuki you know he gets a little bit uh not on the same page but on the same USB right these days there's no more pages but but if Ki is encouraging everyone to sing sun shab is what's Tuki doing is he lying on the couch sings This M he he sings them a little differently no h is the voice of K and it's a it's brilliant I mean you know it's I was just listening to a coming I was list you were seriously listening to yeah yesterday I was listening to I put in the USB I'm listening to all my songs I haven't heard them really some of them in years you know you don't play on your own stuff stuff came on I said that's that's [Music] funny sorry I knew that which came first we actually oh and you will walk into a store and purchase the USB there's some neighborhoods who do that but there a lot of people who are not used to shopping that way is this available online can someone just either order the USB or order to all those songs you know to their iTunes or something yeah well it's avable all the songs are available online oh all the all the streaming platforms they've all got it 246 noi radio so you can buy it by album or you could buy it by song you could buy it by song by by album most of music is selling it on most music.com all right so this is not just walk in and purchase a USB this is the Catal available everywhere everywhere you know what an LP is by the way I just used the word LP you remember that you know that they're coming back no I I'm telling you ain't gonna find a turntable in this studio there is actually there is actually a record store in Long Island in in lindbrook wow just records that's all sells vinyl records people they're making five bucks a week going bankrupt when you recorded the original Ares or when you were sitting in shosu with your roommates you're recording on what a a real toore machine like what are you doing cassette recorder oh you already recording on cassette little cassette recorder yeah and they're playing their instruments and as I mean uh schmy was playing guitar he taught me how to play guitar actually he made a chord sheet for me car was always laying around I remember once he came running in he was inspired someone came to him while he was walking home from yiva and he starts playing that's his NE that was played at every wedding for 30 years it probably still play and he had to figure out the chords you know it's a brilliant song it's a great song and it was controversial in its time what it was banned from being played in camaris used to play music in camaris over the loudspeaker that song was banned by the r at the time he says what did they play over the you know give me an example but that song but they play they play they would play and was all right but's Nan wasn't I could spend an hour on that but let's not waste our time but the was the major classic from that album our first AR show
