struggle here and there with their children and maybe re B not exactly sure what to do this that whatever imagine right now you were speaking to a million people imagine or 10 million people or 100 Mil imagine yeah what what would be a message to give them or something in the world of in the world of the things that you do you have a lot of experience so what would be something that you would say and then we'll get to how do you get on thir time what do you do and all that stuff what's the message if if right now this could be recorded everywhere what message do you want teachers and Raman parents to hear wow okay thank you thank you fully loaded question for the worm words so I recently heard a story from uh a woman her name is NAA Maples and when she was 20 years old she was eating dinner one night she was in college 20 years old and she fell down to the floor with a stroke she had brain injuries she got rushed to the ICU and she was a quadriplegic she couldn't move any body part she couldn't blink her eyes she could barely breathe but she could hear and she overheard the doctor saying that she has 48 hours to live her best friend came to say goodbye to her crying and she was able was just trying to scream out inside her mother asked the doctors and she says did anybody ever survive such a stroke and the doctor says ma'am that's not what you should be focusing on on your daughter's last few minutes she said Doctor you're not answering my question did anybody ever survive such a stroke and the doctor said ma'am I can't give you words of positivity if there's very small chance of her surviving and she said you're not answering my question did anybody ever survive and the doctor said maybe one she said that's all I need she went to her daughter's ear and she whispered I see you inspiring thousands of people on stage I believe in you I believe in you and inside this lady na Maple she was crying out like why you telling me that if I'm if I survive I'm going to be quadriplegic my whole life I'm not going to move but her mother whispered in her ear I believe in you I believe in you I see you inspiring thousands of people a year later with the help of a physical therapist she got got out of bed walked on our own two feet and I saw her in a room of a thousand people speaking I was there and she was telling everybody you just got to believe you got to believe in yourself if there's one thing I believe that every parent and every teacher has to know is that when you believe in your child naturally they'll lead their life that way it's all about believing in them my son became three yesterday and I became 39 today and when we happy birthday happy birthday when we cut his hair what occurred to me is that he's still the same you know he looks totally different he's eating his cookie while I'm cutting his hair nothing changed nothing but we look at him differently now and because we look at him differently he's going to act different so when you believe in your student you believe in your child it becomes a self-fulfilling prophecy see their future in the present show them what you could see what they could become they'll lead their life that way I want to just add to that because when you're saying this it's it's amazing it's 100% true but there was a study that was done I forgot who are the two people on the study but there was a study done byben and shim Reuben and Simon more from Harvard I love a shom now Harvard is no longer something special but it basically they came in and they said they're doing a test to see who are the special people like a very very sophisticate they gave everybody a bunch of uh you know what I'm talking about right they gave everybody a bunch of tests they they all the the children they went they they wrote all the answers they brought it in these people went into a room they came out a half hour later and they started calling people and says you have the ability to exceed expectation you're going to be a superstar and they picked up random a bunch of people they come back a year later to this it was a public school come back a year later and they do the and they see the people that they said you're going to be Superstars they went crazy above and beyond you know what you know what what anything that expectation was and what they were doing from the previous year afterwards the principal came over to and said like what was the test like how did you figure this out and they said the test we did not even look at the answers we gave them answers that we just threw it in the garbage we picked up people at random and said you're special and when they heard their special they were able to that's the famous that was the daily dose that just went out of Edison when he came home from school and his the teacher gave the letter you know the story the letter came you're the M you can't be in the you know what it's so nice we were sitting over here yeah be good to your kids when you're sitting in there and you have one kid crying the other kid screaming and all kid says just leave me alone you know right away but it's such an important lesson that we have to like take that pause when we're raising the kids or dealing in whatever is we're dealing with that we have an opportunity to change people's lives wow what is your goal your overall goal when you tell a story you have a room full of children you go to a camp or whatever it is and you tell a story to them what's your goal to to put in this message or other messages your over this message that I just said is really for parents and Educators to believe in the child but for kids I like to give them values and teror values and just talk about self- greatness like what what is the difference between wanting to be famous and wanting to be great or what does it mean or what is the importance of helping other people and really break it down to them in a nice story like the dentist gives you a drills in your teeth but he'll give you some painkillers I put it into his story just to make it enjoyable but the overall thing is when a kid like gets something and he realizes okay if I win this game by recess it's not like my ultimate goal tomorrow's a brand new day it starts again when they realize it like that that puts me on fire wow he was able to like recognize something new learn something different that's my overall goal of the story or or make yish kite exciting break down like what is a you know what does it mean what does that mean in Practical terms a way that a fifth grader could understand it and hey if you could explain it to a fifth grader then you probably could get it yourself you know what I mean if you can't so it's important to we don't ask those questions we don't ask those questions I'm asking you that question right wow you and all you do is stories on any time or you do other things like what like what do you okay so uh yeah well let's start from the beginning yeah let's start I think the beginning we have to start with one time one time like we have to we have to hear that orang you know we can't overdo it we can't over how did you get on ter time what are the things that you do on tery time besides stories were you always is this how you saw yourself all the time how do you keep yourself motivated a lot of questions lot of questions okay let's go the floor is yours yeah I I I didn't see myself doing this as a kid because I was always on the other side of the door in the hallway waiting by the principal's office so I definitely didn't see myself doing this as a kid but deep down because I had no adults that I really looked up to deep down I promised myself that I got to do this right but it never was on like you know the surface level it was deep down that's what I had in inside I was doing kirv in California and and I was public speaker speaking to people and I met uh Tony time team and they said you got to you got to speak you got to talk for Tony time where did you meet them over there I met them by convention a tasar convention okay and I said you know they gave me a video camera I had the video camera literally in my closet never took it out I tried it once I'm like I can't do this I'm not like such a speaker I don't have so many things to say and it was just literally collecting dust and then I met mosha Sofer one one you know MOS it's always mosha s I'm so close with M happen to be I don't want to interrupt you in that but I'm gonna so whatever obious say I don't want to but I remember now that you mentioned that I remember Misha came over to me one day and he's like you've got to hear it was an AR talk and he's like you got to hear the speaker is unbelievable he's going to be on tour any time he's like something unheard heard of we didn't have that for children specifically like he was speaking praises and now I'm I completely forgot about that you mentioned that you just I clicked into it's unbelievable how highly he spoke of you and how like you know your kid do your kids listen to them my kids do so do mine do your kids listen to you know what I tell them the story is always do you said listen you know I I I don't really I can't do it it's you know and I only talk to kids he said kids that's exactly what we need I said but how am I going to record in the classroom how am I going to record the kids like put a video camera for Tor anytime in my classroom like I can't get away with that he you didn't believe in yourself totally yeah it was very hard for me and that's what I we want to get this message it was hard with the capital H it was hard but I said you know what let me just try it was the first day of the school year and I said guys guess what we're going to try something new we're going to record for Torah anytime that's right I want you guys to give me a title for the stories and they came up with a title T Tales From room 401 every day every boy got a turn to press record it was big it was big and what grade was it what grade was it one of them feel special totally yeah there you go what grade was it it was fifth grade fifth grade and that's how it started in the classroom and I I just did it from my class I did a story every day and little did I had no idea that it was really like I I put on tour any time but I think when Co hit that's when a lot of people watch your by the way are very high wow yeah thank you are they no they are they are okay so before we get to the question of uh motivated how do you keep yourself motivated do you have one story that like knocked it out of the park was there like the the craziest story that feedback that you got do you have one of those yeah you know I mean I shared it like several times but there's a story that the lot of kids connect to it's my Michael Jordan story you no is that like one of your first ones that was my first first story oh there you go there you go even like shim Kaka was like you got to record for the adults you know but it was like that story that I my father promised me to take me to a Michael Jordan game if I got a 90 or over I never knew what a 90 looked like and and I did like all sorts of tricks to get 90s I I called the best kids in the class as them what's going to be on the test I didn't cheat but I did way what's the questions right and then I end up getting 90s for 6 months my father took me to the game and we got fake tickets and I got kicked out of the stadium when I almost got to see Michael Jordan now Michael Jordan was like my Superstar I had t-shirts on Michael Jordan His posters were all around my bed this is no joke who's around your bed now re wow okay oh wow and uh you know I so that's a you know the kids relate to that because it's like all so sad I never got to see him they always ask me like so your father never took you again and honestly like now it doesn't really make a difference to me that I never got to see Michael Jordan you know because I realized that we are all Michael Jordan in our own way you you you are the best at something and you got to find that thing every kid is is a star and that's what I really believe like in my classroom like I'm going to find that one unique thing that you're a star and that goes back to the beginning of the conversation when you praise your kids and you believe in them it's got to be real 100% you got to find totally yeah yeah when you come home like my Reb said to bring you flowers honey and um and oh wait I mixed up the engl this card wait like tell you re I got to be real and like boom take that home look at that look at that you know what I just I just got such a mus hosal from what you just said because like your goal was to meet Michael Jordan right and didn't happen and now you're looking back you're like whatever you know like it doesn't matter like I couldn't care less like we have so many goals in our lives and then we don't reach them and then we like we're crushed you know like it's it they okay like it's ruined it it takes us weeks to get back up there there is going to be one goal that we are going to reach goal yeah 1.8 2. right now gamarra platform for the Youth and for adults if they want it but the idea is to make gamarra exciting and gamar as a kid for me was so it got me into trouble you know how many resources I lost because of gamar because I couldn't read the gamar and the r said sheller you're going to sit in the classroom you're going to write during recess so it gave me so much pain but when I started learning gamar I got got it it gave me the biggest Joy of my life when I started learning seriously at age 19 I would spend just hours and hours learning gamar it gave me my greatest gift and I said there's got to be a way we can teach us to kids and make it exciting so that's what rby anytime is is just passionate gamarra learning with a lot of visuals behind it making the gamar very relatable and practical that's what RAB time is and the the feedback is phenomenal like a lot of kids that all the ream are great but a lot of kids necessarily can't get in the classroom just because uh maybe they're distracted by everything that's going on or they didn't get it fully well and at home you sit down it's quiet you press rewind and just go over the video and you could really get it and when you really get gamar that's when Tura becomes sweet a lot of people say yeah I tried gamar I try learning it's not for me I said that also for so many years but that's because you probably never understood the question or you never understood it you you get what I'm saying I get exactly what you're saying but when you really understand it it's like you believe in yourself yeah when it all comes down to that you believe in yourself that's what it is it's just it's wow that's that's a great question I could take any kid you know any kid that hates learning he has 17 earrings I'll sit down with him just give him over a great question I guarantee he'll enjoy it w does that make sense that makes a lot ofense it's interesting I remember I don't um I forgot which G was but someone asked a GLE you know like they were in kirb what should you learn with somebody who has no connection to you dis guy so you think you open up a gamar would be the last thing that you would open up a go you know that's what you think but you know what the you know the go said you learn with them gamar because eventually once they get it that's it you know they're hooked but I just wanted to d
