Community Leaders and Elected Officials Come out for Momentous Ribbon Cutting
23 views
After years of petitioning the town of Ramapo for sidewalks which would ensure the safety of pedestrians at West Carlton and Pine Roads, the town has listened to the pleas of the community and installed walkways and streetlights in this area. A large crowd of onlookers and community leaders were on hand for the ribbon-cutting ceremony, headed by Supervisor Michael Specht, who was thanked by those in attendance for his leadership in this matter.

Thank you to everybody. Thank you for
having us here and inviting us and
having this celebration. It really means
a lot to us. Uh we are so happy we're
able to put the sidewalks in, put the
lights in, do whatever we can to make
our community safer. This is a beautiful
neighborhood. It's such a great honor to
be here and be part of it. And it's
really great to see all the young
children, the boys and girls, uh that
are really the future for our whole
town, our community, and to know that
they'll be safer walking along the
street on the sidewalks. So, I want to
say thank you to everybody here. Thank
you for all along having faith in us and
walking with us and being patient as we
did it.
>> And especially thank you to the rabbi
for your leadership and putting this
together and really inspiring us to move
forward with this uh improvement. And
there's, as you said, there's more to
come. This is just the beginning. And to
everybody who grew up in Muny, we we
appreciate you being pioneers in this
town and building the town to what it
is. of everybody here that came from the
city. We welcome you and we're glad that
you're here making our town grow and and
being such a big part of our of our
local community. So, I want to say I
want to thank a couple of people who are
here that made this possible because
it's a team. I want to thank my chief of
staff Mona Montana
[Applause]
to get this done. And of course, I want
to thank Jesse Margaret who will be part
of this project as well. And we have um
uh one person who's not here that really
worked hard, Ed Moran, who's our
engineer. He did an amazing job planning
this and making sure managing it as it
went through. And our contractors um uh
Ache uh paving did a fantastic uh job.
They really made it not just fast, but
they made it look beautiful. So I think
uh they're all owed a lot of thanks from
everybody. Thank you.
