Today I'm so excited because I'm bringing you
along for a complete Jewish home reset as part
of my Sunday reset. But to be honest, it's part of
my total life reset because the past year has felt
like a series of unfortunate events. And between
these unfortunate events, my routine became wake
up, pray, work, kids, supper, clean, sleep, and
[music] repeat. And somewhere in that routine,
I lost myself. So today, no more excuses. We're
resetting this home room by room because for me,
a clean home means a clear mind, and I really need
that right [music] now. So whether you're cleaning
along with me, putting me in the background, or
just needed to spend some time with a friend,
I'm [music] so grateful you're here. So let me
put on a pretty tickle and let's jump into it.
When I reset my home, I always start with the
quickest win, something that gives me [music] the
biggest mental boost. So today that's our bedroom.
First things first, I make the beds. While I start
on them, let me introduce myself [music] if
you're new here. Hi, my name is Sarah Mona
and on this channel I share all facets of my
Orthodox Sephardic Jewish life as a full-time
working mom in [music] the medical field. And
if your heart inclines you to do so, you can
leave a like and comment on this video as it is
the best way to support our channel. Either way,
I'm so grateful you're here. If you're wondering
why I have to straighten up all the contour linen,
it's because I'm a tornado when I sleep. So,
the contour linen is always popping up after
pulling [music] it down. It's finally pillow time.
Body pillow, which I adopted during pregnancy, and
I never let go of it. I also have a little pillow
trick I love. I call it my pillow burrito. Pull,
tuck, fold over, final tough, flatten, and voila.
I put back the duvet. And I know a lot of you
asked why we don't use a duvet cover or protector.
The reason is simple. We wash our duvet very
frequently. Sheets every week, duvete every other
week, and I even steam fresh our pillows weekly.
Final step, the furry blanket. It's a new
addition this year. It's practical and it's
cuteish, but it's not the perfect color. I'm still
looking for the perfect match for our headboards.
Everything I find is either too beige or too
white or too brown, and I need more camel. So,
if you have a good lead, please let me know in the
comments below. I'm not touching the closet today.
The system I implemented [music] is working and
I'm not ruining a good thing. And just like that,
bedroom reset done. Okay, now we move on to
the real stuff. Next, [music] I tackled the
on suite bathroom under the sink. This
area became a total dump and go zone.
makeup, beauty products, toilet paper, you name
it, it's there. So, [music] I take everything out
and then I find this stain at the bottom. Can
we all say ew together? I'm not even sure what
leaked in here, but the color was criminal.
So, the gloves come on because I'm not even
sure what leaked in here. I tried cleaning it
with a stronger cleaner, but it doesn't come off
fully. So, I bring out one of my favorite little
tools, a tiny plastic scraper. I will leave a link
below if you're interested. And look at this.
It works perfectly. Once everything is clean,
I repurpose a few transparent bins I
already had. I add feminine products.
In the other drawers, I will add extra electric
toothbrushes and charger. And on the other side,
a small bin for toilet paper rolls. Done.
Simple, functional, and honestly, it feels
so much better. And with the bedroom zone done, I
felt motivated. And this is why I [music] decided
to tackle the biggest mess in our house.
And I'm warning you right now, it's bad.
Okay, welcome to my home office. This is a
space you've never seen before, and honestly,
there's a reason for that. [music] This past year
was intense. working full-time, running the house,
[music] waking up early, and to avoid waking up my
husband, this room slowly became the place where
I just put things down [music] and kept moving.
Clothes piled up, papers piled up, and before I
knew it, this didn't feel like an office anymore.
[music] It felt overwhelming. And the irony,
this is where I'm supposed to create, to think
[music] clearly, to feel inspired. Instead,
it felt like chaos. So, today we're changing
[music] that. I start with the clothes. Yes, my
chair was under there. I forgot I even owned it.
[music] It's a ball chair, which I actually love,
even though I often work standing. And just
seeing the floor again, I can breathe. Next,
I remove everything that doesn't belong. I [music]
tackle the paper piles. And Omi is going to love
shredding these under parental supervision, of
course. Once [music] the surfaces are clear,
I move to the closet. I organize my filming gear
on [music] the left, bags and accessories on the
right, and I keep my walking pad accessible.
After losing more than 50 [music] lbs this
year (Thank G.od) , I want this space to support
who I am now, and [music] I cannot wait to share
that full story with you soon. Already the [music]
shift is incredible. Is it perfect? No. But today
is all about progress, not perfection. [music]
And suddenly I actually want to be here again.
Now let's talk about the desk situation.
I have two desks, one for work and one for
editing. [music] And that separation isn't just
physical, it's mental. My work desk is functional.
three screens, three phones, and of course,
my prayer book. But my creative [music] desk,
it wasn't working. Too small, too cramped.
Editing felt harder than it needed to be. So,
I [music] removed it. And with the help of my
husband and our son, Michael, we install a new
desk. A gift from my parents, Merci papa et maman
:) . It's a Flexi Spot [music] electric desk, not
sponsored, and it allows me to move from sitting
[music] to standing. I add two editing screens I
got on Black Friday, simple cable management,
[music] LED lights, and just like that,
we went from this to this. I also [music] create a
wall of frames above my creative desk using frames
I already had from a [music] project that never
worked out. This time they will get filled with
inspirational prints from Etsy. [music] When
I step back, close the curtains, turn on the
LED lights, [music] my office feels airy, calm,
and intentional. And finally, this space feels
right for something I've been waiting almost
a year to open with you. [music] Our 100,000
subscriber plaque. I never opened it because
I wanted to share this moment with you. We did
this together. When I started this channel five
years ago, I never imagined this. Never imagined
that Hash.em/ G.od would [music] bless me with
such an incredible Frum it up family. Thank you
for [music] being here. Thank you for staying. And
I know I've been away this [music] past year, but
I'm here now. Thank G.od I'm back. And I'm [music]
so grateful you're here, too. From the bottom of
my heart, [music] thank you. After this emotional
moment, I finish [music] with a final dust,
vacuum, and wipe down ( My cordless vaccuum was
not charged so I had to use my dust buster!!!) . I
clean the camera stand, tidy the last details,
[music] and just like that, this space finally
reflects who I am now. Next step, the beauty
closet. And yes, it's another disaster zone.
This space became a dumping station for everything
and anything from linens to toothpaste [music] and
beyond. And because everything was piled up,
nothing could be found. So, I take out everything,
sweep, and clean. I organize everything [music]
into transparent containers from the dollar store.
They have latches to keep everything secure and
for the containers not to spill over when moved.
The containers are the same length, different
width to be able to stack them up. [music] And
of course, every single one of them had those
stickers that are impossible to remove. So,
let me show you one of my favorite little
tricks. If you want to remove sticky labels,
use a blow dryer. A little heat and voila,
the labels come off so easily. And it works
every single time. Each container will
contain a simple category. Vitamins,
toothbrushes, first aid, and I
[music] place everything back neatly.
Not everything will end up in a container. The
tall bottles will be put back on the top shelf.
I'm so grateful how this space turned out.
And yes, I wanted to label every container.
And I did print some [music] labels, but I'm
absolutely not obsessed with the quality. So,
I may order nicer ones. But again, my goal
today is progress, not perfection. Because
the real goal is this system is now easy for
everyone in the house to use. You just pull out,
take what you need, put back because
everyone can see what's inside.
After the office and closets were finally
reset, [music] I moved to bring the rest
of the house back to Sunday reset mode.
The living room and dining room are truly
the heart [music] of our Orthodox Sephardic
Jewish home. Not only because we host a lot,
but also because our home [music] is our safe
place, our little sanctuary or Mikdash Me'at. So,
we want to put it back in [music] order.
I start by folding the covers on both
sofas. [music] Every sofa has a blanket
so you can curl up and read a good book,
especially on Shabbat [music] afternoon. No
more fighting over who gets the furry cover.
Then, because it's Sunday after Shabbat,
I put [music] away the candle holders. We
have five silver ones. Our tradition (minhag)
is to have one for each member of our family,
but our obligation is only for two. I store
them back in the glass cabinet. I also put
back the glasses that go on top of the candle
holders because as Orthodox Sephardic Jews,
it is our tradition or [music] minhag to light
Shabbat candles with oil and not wax candles.
I also put back the bouquet [music] of flowers
my husband gave me before Shabbat. These small
touches make such a difference. Finally, I
put away the books and games [music] the kids
were playing with on Shabbat. And we love, love,
love all these games. Do you know them? I would
love to know in the comments down below. Living
room and dining room done. To finish the reset,
I do a quick kitchen clean. Nothing fancy, just a
reset after Shabbat because, as you can see, a lot
of pots and pans to be cleaned, as well as many
things in the sinks. I load the dishwasher. And
yes, I am part of the group that rinses everything
and removes big debris before putting it in the
dishwasher. And yes, I know it's a problem, but
I'm working on it. I use my scrub daddy to wash
everything that needs to be washed by hand and
I absolutely love it. Thank you so much again
to all the one who sent them. I love them and
I think of you every time I use one of them.
I let the dishes air dry while I move to the other
task which is cleaning the hood. As you can see,
it needed a good clean, but nothing that a bit
of elbow grease could not take care of. After
cleaning the counters, I moved to the stove
top. And boy oh boy, did I needed to clean
twice because it was really grimy. But finally,
everything is clean. And just like that, our
kitchen feels fresh again, ready to be used for
the next meal. And last but not least, I reset our
coffee station. [music] This little area has been
working overtime lately with guests, deliveries,
and workers in [music] and out of the house. For
this restock, I kept it simple. I [music] added
our favorite coffee pods and decaf pods, as well
as these sugar packets. And can we talk about
these sugar packets for a second? I have Splenda,
Stevia, and they have these little inspirational
messages on them, and I don't know why, but they
genuinely make me smile every [music] time. I
would love to know, would you spend a little
more for sugar packets with encouraging words?
Or maybe it's totally not your cup of tea. Let me
know in the comments below because I'm genuinely
curious. [music] I also added a three tier stand
for snacks so people can have a coffee and a
treat, sweet or savory. And I'm definitely team
sweet. I wanted to spruce things up, so I added
this beautiful coffee mat. And finally, I changed
the word of the month for the coffee station,
which will be thankful. And [music] I will start
with this theme of gratitude by thanking you for
resetting our Orthodox Sephardic Jewish home with
me. And just like [music] that, I can finally look
around and feel at peace. Our home is once again
reset to be our Mikdahs Me'at, our mini sanctuary
where we can better connect peacefully with
our family, our friends, [music] and with G.od.
Thank you for being here. It truly means [music]
the world to me. And if you're here until the end,
please write in the comments. I LOVE A PEACEFUL
HOME So, I know I was not alone. And if nobody
told you today, know that you are loved
and you are enough just the way you are.
Until next time, stay safe, stay blessed, and
don't forget to Frum it up (Elevate the mundane).
