Join me as we learn kumish for Tuesday
paran
chapter 4 verse 41. Today we learn as
Moshe then designates the cities of
refuge which will be used on the side of
the Jordan. We spoke about the cities of
refuge that were used in the previous
star readings in Bameidbar in the book
of numbers about when they were dividing
the land over here. We're going to read
about the three cities of refuge that
were going to be used on the other side
of the Jordan as well. Verse 41,
Moshe then decided to designate three
cities on this side of the Jordan
towards the sunrise.
Moshe realized what does he say now that
he did it then? to meaning that when he
was telling them about the laws of the
cities of refuge, Moshe said, "Well,
let's designate some places on this side
of the Jordan that he should be the one
to do it."
Even though they actually didn't work,
meaning that they wouldn't accept a
person who killed somebody inadvertently
until the three on the other side of the
land of Israel was already were active.
If I have the ability to do a mitzvah
that I can designate which should be the
cities, I'm going to do it
on that side of the Jordan which is east
in the direction of the sunrise which is
towards east.
When you look when the word hey at the
end of a so the word is you add the word
the letter hey the letter hey puts it
with an with a with a uh
you call it but it means
so it's
meaning the way the sun shines meaning
the sunrise
what was the purpose of making these
cities of refuge
so that a murderer can run
who may have murdered his friend without
knowledge
in a time we're talking about where he
does not hate him neither yesterday or
the day before
and he can run to one of these
designated cities and he will be able to
live there. Verse 43. What were the
cities midbar in the midbar in the land
of the Mishra which belonged to the
Ruveni? That means in the plain country
which the the tribe of Ruven was given.
Esotilad Ris in Gilad Lagodi which
belonged to Gilad
and Golanashi
and the Golan in the Bashan which now
was in the area territory of Masha.
Verse 44.
Following is the instructions that Moshe
set before the Jewish people.
What does it mean in the Torah?
This what we're going to talk about
after this Torah reading tells us about
the different blessings that come later
on many of the commandments and the
blessings and the curses and everything
that come after in the following Torah
readings. Verse 45.
These are the very same testimonies,
rules, and ordinances that Moshe spoke
to the Jewish people when they came out
of Egypt.
These are the same exact words that
Mosha told them when he came out of
Egypt.
And he repeated them again by the plains
of Moab as we're soon going to see and
then in the following verses as well.
And this is Mosha's second address to
the Jewish people
on the other side of the Jordan meaning
in the valley opposite the in the valley
m opposite base
in the land of the king of the Amorites
that was living at the time
destroyed or killed
the Jewish people when they left Egypt.
verse 47
and they conquered his land. They took
possession of his land
and the land of Og, the king of Bash,
the two Amorite kings
that were on the other side of the
Jordan.
That were on the side of the Jordan.
Which side of the Jordan? Misrah towards
the sunrise.
Not that the eastern side which is on
the east
the other side of the Jordan is on the
west. They were on the east side of the
Jordan.
Verse 48
which was on the edge of the Arnon River
or brook until Mount
which today is called
verse 49.
And that whole plane
which is eastward of the across the
Jordan River eastward
until the sea of the plane
along the foot of the waterfall of the
peak.
This concludes the third Torah reading
of parasan.
