V’Zos HaBerachah - 7th Portion
3 views
After Moshe concludes his farewell address, G-d instructed him to ascend Mount Nevo. G-d showed Moshe prophetically the future of the Jewish people. The Torah then concludes with Moshe’s passing, the people’s mourning, Yehoshua’s appointment and informing us that no other prophet would ever arise equaling Moshe’s level of prophecy.

Join me as we conclude the final Torah
reading of the Torah of the five books
of the Torah. Seventh Torah reading of
the
verse chapter 34 verse1
and Moshe ascended from the plains of
Moabis
the top of the mountain the peak of the
mountain
which is facing Jericho
and God showed him the entire landiladon
from Gilead to Dun.
verse one.
How many steps were there? How many
times did he have to go up that there
were so many steps that there was an
entire area of the mountain
was able to do it in one giant leap.
He showed him the entire land of Israel.
How it's sitting there in peace.
He also showed him those that are trying
to bother the Jewish people and then
eventually and the and the people that
were and hurt the Jewish people that are
there done until done
as Moshe saw all the different things
that may happen to the Jewish people at
the time as well at the time of their
independence and the time when they're
going to be subjected to the different
powers around them. done. Why does he go
back until done?
Because he also showed them that the
people of D when they were serving
idolatry as it says
he showed them done how they would put
up the idolatry but at the same time
also who came from and he was the one to
save the Jewish people. Verse two
and all the area of in the land of
the whole entire land of Yehuda
until the western sea the Mediterranean
is called
he showed them this place of when it
will be sitting in peace and when it's
destroyed
showed them the time and barak who came
from the area of Naftali as they are
waging war
says he wages war with and his army
again he shows them the
while they're destroyed and while
they're in peace and while they're being
destroyed
he shows them Yeshua waging war with the
kingdom ofan
because Yeshua came from the children of
Afraim and Gidonash and Gidon who came
from a nil Ionik who's waging war with
Midionite nights at the time and a malik
saving them from their hands
and the entire land of Yehuda which is
again as he shows them the land of
Yehuda as they are in peace and way they
are being destroyed
he shows the kingdom of King David how
he's able to wage war and conquer the
Jewish people conquer the the places for
the Jewish people as well and the
victories that King David had
until the Mediterranean
that's the western land
while it's in peace and in its
destruction.
Another explanation of what it means
until the Mediterranean until the last
sea.
Don't say the word the word without the
vowels. You can either say it as the sea
or you can read it as the day until the
final day
that God showed Moshe.
He showed him the entire history of the
Jewish people until the final days of
the resurrection. Verse three,
he showed him as well the south and the
plain of Jordan,
the valley of Jericho,
the city of the palm trees and
rashi
the south. Another explanation which
that was the cave of the patriarchs as
it says
and he went off went up in the south and
he came to
he showed him the area of where King
Solomon was making the vessels for the
holy temple as it says
that it was in the plain of the Jordan
that that's where Mos Schlommo made the
vessels for the holy temple verse four
loving God said to
This is the land that I swore that I was
going to give to Abraham, Isaac, and
Jacob. Lamer saying
to your children, I'm going to give it
you've seen it with your eyes.
However, you will not be able to cross
over there. Verse four.
So you are now able to go and say
to Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob
the promise that God swore to you that
he made an oath with you kept was done.
That's why he says so to say.
Why did I show it to you that you should
be able to go and tell them that the
oath was kept?
However, the decree that I made that you
will not that you will not be able to go
there because if not for this decree,
I wouldn't give you this uh knowledge. I
wouldn't I wouldn't tell you about the
actual oath.
If not for the oath, if not for the
decree that I made, you shouldn't be
able to go into the land of Israel. I
would wait for you to actually go into
the land of Israel and then go tell
Abraham, Isaac, and Jacob. However,
because you're not going into the land
of Israel, just the very fact by seeing
it with that you have to go and tell
them that my promise, my oath was kept.
Verse five, and now the Torah tells us
about the last few verses about the
passing of Moshe.
And Moshe passed the onashem
a servant of God
in the land of Mov by the mouth of God.
Can we even say that Moshe died?
Why does it say that he died?
How can Moshe write that he died? But up
until here Moshe wrote from here onward
Yeshua Yeshua wrote that
says
how is it possible that the Torah should
be missing any words?
Didn't God tell Moshe take this entire
Torah? So how can it be that Mosha would
be missing a few verses in the Torah?
God told him what to write. Moshe wrote
it with his tears and therefore the
following verses which talk about
Mosha's passing Moshe wrote but with
tears according to what God told him to
write. Alashem what does it mean by the
mouth of God besa in kissing that he
didn't die through the angel of death as
we mentioned that he saw the way iron
passed and he asked that he should have
the same kind of death and that's as if
a person kisses his friend and wishes
him well and that's the way that God
hugged Moshe kissed him and that's the
way Moshe connected to God and passed on
and God buried him then in guy
in the Ali
in the land of Moab
opposite.
No person knows the exact burial place
of of burial site of Moshe until this
very day.
What does it mean? Who's the one that
buried him?
God himself is the one that buried Moshe
says who covers that actually he buried
himself.
asked this is the three S's in the Torah
that we mentioned once before that
explains that they don't talk about
somebody else but they talk about the
actual individual himself as we find the
other three places are
that the day that Nazarite finishes his
uh period of of Nazarite he has to bring
himself to
he brings himself to the tent to the
holy temple as well
that the people who um have a guilt
offering. They're the ones that cause
themselves to eat that uh sacrifice at
the time
or other people have to be take the
guilt for them.
They are the ones that have to take the
guilt for themselves. The coimm have to
responsible to take for the guilt. So
those are three places where S generally
an S refers to somebody else. These are
the three places where the S refers to
the individual himself. And therefore
learns where it says that Moshe was the
one that buried himself.
Why does the Torah tell us a place and
by designating a place and saying
opposite an idolatry?
His burial place was there prepared
already from the time of the six days of
creation. Why
to atone for the sin of the idolatry of
poor?
This is the one of the 10 things of the
wondrous things that are mentioned in
ethics of our fathers in chapter 5 that
was created at the time of twilight in
on the eve of Shabas when God created
the universe on the sixth day of
creation.
An interesting thing. How is it that um
Moshe's place if it was all created
already before God's creation? This is
what was the wondrous thing of it is
that God created the burial place of
Moshe and still it is unknown where he's
buried. The Talmud brings a case that
there was once a king that wanted to
find the burial place of Moshe and he
sent guards to find by this place of as
they came to the top of the mountain
they saw on the bottom of the mountain.
when they went to the bottom of the
mountain, they saw it on top of the
mountain. And so he put guards on top
and guards on bottom and the ones on the
top saw it on the bottom. The ones on
the bottom saw it on the top and
therefore the Torah says it is unknown
though we know the exact mountain but
don't know exactly where Moshe was
buried. The Torah goes on to describe
Moshe's greatness.
Moshe was 120 years old when he died.
His facial color did not pale.
nor did his body lose its natural
freshness.
It did not decompose.
Even once he died, it did not change.
The moisture in it, the freshness,
his face did not lose its complexion.
Verse eight.
And the Jewish people cried and wept for
Moses for Mosh the plains of 30 days
and the days of weeping of the morning
of Moshe came to an end
meaning the males. But when it comes to
the passing of Aaron, if you recall
previously in the beginning of the book
of Deuteronomy, it's mentioned
because he was a person who pursued
peace and brought peace amongst man and
his friend between husband and wife.
Therefore, it says all the Jewish people
males
male and female. Verse 9. Now the Torah
tells us about the successor of Moshe.
Verse nuhuin
who was full of the spirit of wisdom.
Why was he full of the spirit of wisdom?
Because Moshe placed his hands upon him
and the Jewish people obeyed him
and they did as God has commanded Moshe.
Verse 10.
And there never arouse a prophet in
Israel like Moshe.
him who knew God whom God knew face to
face.
He was usual that God was always talking
to him
and spoke to me whenever he wished as it
says and now I will go up to God or he
would say to the Jewish people
stand and listen what God will say that
at any time and at any moment Moshe had
the opportunity to speak to God while
other prophets God had to call upon
them. Verse 11
and to all the with regard to all the
signs and the marvels that God has sent
them to perform in Egypt
to before Pharaoh and all the servants
and to all his land
I'm sorry the verse 12 the first 12 we
come now to the final verse of the
entire Torah
and to all and with regard nor with
regard to the strong hand,
nor with regard to the great awesome
experience
which Moshe did
in full view of all the Jewish people.
What does this refer to? the great arm
that he received the Torah with his own
hands and he brought them down to the
Jewish people
to all the great miracles that happened
in the desert
of here it's talking about in full view
of the Jewish people going back to the
sin of the golden calf that the very
fact that Moshe carried the tablets in
front of the Jewish people as he says I
held the tablets in front of you
and I broke them in front of your eyes
in your view. He's telling the Jewish
people
that God agreed to what he has done as
God tells him
that you broke that God told Moshe,
"Thank you and great is your strength
that you broke the tablets." as the
Rebba discusses why does the Torah
conclude or why does Rashi conclude with
this episode to teach us about the
greatness of Moshe that he put his life
for the Jewish people and how God
showing that every single aspect of
Mosha's life even a thing of breaking
the tablets was something which would
came with the agreement and the
acknowledgement and the courage that God
gave him showing the true leadership of
Moshe being there for the Jewish people
in every step of the way giving his life
dedicated for the Jewish people the
greatest lesson that Mosh gave to the
Jewish people.
This concludes the entire five books of
the Torah.
