Parsha Bhazat
HaBarakah, the fifth
Torah lesson,
chapter 33,
verse 22. We continue the blessing that Moses
gave to the tribes of the Jewish people
as
they prepared to enter the Land of Israel on the
last
day of their lives, on the
day of their death.
We
now come to the last few
tribes
, and the
tribe of Dan.
Ul'dan is mine,
and to Dan
he said,
Gur Aryeh,
a young lion,
I'zanek min
Habashan,
rushes from Bashan.
Dan was called the lion
, as Rashi
explains, because of the
face of the
lion, because
he also
lived near the border.
Vifika Moshe
was considered a lion because
lions are
strong,
they have to protect the people inside,
and so they
deployed strong people at the border.
Itzani kimina
Bashan, as the
Targum
explains,
means that
his land would
then provide the remainder of the canals coming from Bashan
,
meaning
that
side of the Jordan that
was the area of Bashan.
Sh'haya
ha'yarden
yetzei
me'chalke, because the
Jordan would have come out
of the part of the Don
;
Me'mtzaos
Pamayas,
from the cave of Pamayas;
V'hi Leshem, which is the
city of Leshem;
She'hi B'chalke
Shel Dan, which
was in the territory of Dan; Of She'nem,
as it is
said in the Book of Joshua,
"Va'ikru l'shma
l'sh Leshem Dan,"
that they
called the area of Leshem Dan because
that is where Dan
was. V'je nuke
ki luchai mina
Bashan, and the
watercourse flowing from the Jordan did
not begin in the area of Bashan and therefore the
Jordan River was
considered a river flowing from Bashan.
Another way to interpret this verse of Dover.
It is much
like a stream of water, which
comes from one place
and then
splits into different areas.
So the tribe of Dan
had two territories in two different areas in the land of Israel. There
was an area in the northwestern part of the Land of Israel. The
city of Akron and
its surrounding
towns. This was
not enough for their people. So
they went and
conquered the city of Leshem,
which is
Pamiah, and
it is
among us and it is
located in the northeast of the land of Israel.
Rashi
proves that
this area of Leshem is
not the same area now
but rather a
different area.
It is
located on the border of Pamias,
Jordan
emerges from the cave of Pamias from
where the
Mizrach shal and
Israel and
Jordan
pass through the entire eastern side of the Land of Israel.
From Mizrach to
where
Israel is, it
covers the entirety of the Yamma Melach
and it runs from north to
south along the
eastern side of the Land of Israel
and ends at the edge of the Dead Sea.
Mizrach, which is
east of the territory of Judah
, will
no longer be like Israel,
because its territory
was already south of Israel. As
stated in the account of Joshua Yehuda Yamma Melach, in the
Book of Joshua the
territory of Judah, which
was within its borders,
was further south of Israel,
and that is why
when speaking of the territory of Dan it is
said that the
people of Dan
went and fought against Lashaha.
This means that
their territory
extended from that entire area
and then
the people of Dan
went and fought against Lashahar.
This means that
their territory
extended from that entire area
and then
the people of Dan
went and fought against Lashahar.
This means that
their territory
extended from that entire area
and then
the people of Dan
went and fought against Lashahar.
This means that
their territory
extended from that entire area
and then
the people of Dan
went and fought against Lashahar.
This means that
their territory
extended from that entire area
and then
the people of Dan
went and fought against Lashahar.
This means that
their territory
extended from that entire area
and then
the people of Dan
went and fought against Lashahar.
This means that
they began their conquest from the northwest
, and
therefore they
went in a different direction and
conquered the city of Leshem
, which eventually became
part of their territory.
We
now move on to the tribe of Naphtali. In the
case of Naphtali, verse 23
states, "
Concerning Naphtali he
said,"
Naphtali, the assembly of the assembly
, "Naphtali is
satisfied,
full of desire.
Umale Birkas
Hashem, and
full of the blessing of God, Dar
Yerosha. And he took
possession and
possessed the Sea of Chinnereth in the south."
Rashi, "Savar
Ratsin, she hoisa
artzi sveya
kol ratzei
Israel. His
land satisfied
all the people who lived there
, because it
produced very good fruit,
and so
everyone who lived there enjoyed the fruit of that land.
Yam Idor
Yasha, Yam
Kinneret
was not his territory,
and Yashavel
Kinneret was not, and
he
took Bedrayama. And
that's why he was
able to take a big net, a big part of the land
, and it was
big enough to catch all the fish south of the Ret
, and
that's why they were
able to use all these different types of nets to
catch the fish that were there.
Irusha,
like the words
of Lashon Mayali Resh
, like
go and conquer.
The fact that
you
have the trope or cantillation, that's at the
beginning of the word,
like Irusha,
not Irusha,
not on Shin but
on Resh,
proves that
it's telling you to go do
something.
As we have in various other We find it in
commands
.
Like listen, take,
know. When you
add a 'he'
, but
put the cantillation on the first letter like
you do, all these
kinds of words
are
terms of command that
he must
go and
conquer.
Just like Rashi
brings a proof that
you find in the general book of Jewish
Hebrew
grammar
,
where the
different
bases are calculated
where the
word is
calculated with the cantillation at the beginning
which
gives you the meaning of a command
. Verse 24, the
tribe of Asher
. And to Asher
he said,
Asher shall be
blessed with sons
. Asher shall be
blessed with sons.
He shall satisfy his
brothers
and he shall be accepted
by his brothers
.
Rashi I
saw in Sifrei, which
gives the following explanation. There was no one
among any other tribe
so
blessed in having sons as Asher
.
But I don't see
how it works
because you do
n't see in practical terms
that Asher was blessed with so many
sons
when they were
old.
Counting the tribes.
That's what Rashi said.
I don't know
how it actually
fits in the context of the verses
. That he was,
he was well-liked.
He was pleased by his brothers.
So in the word shaman, they could be
shaman and people could be
Floys
because they had
very good oil in their land
and in
exchange for that oil
his brothers would
give him wheat and so
everyone
liked him because
they wanted to
get all the oil that was in his area.
Another
explanation is that
you know
they had very
beautiful daughters
and so
everyone wanted to
marry into their family.
We should never
believe
that this is
discussed in the book of Chronicles
which according to the source the
daughters of Asher were given in marriage to the high
priest
, as
well as
their kings
, and the kings were anointed with oil that
came from his area. There is
a story in the Talmud
that once the
people of Lutkia, which is
an
area of Syria,
needed oil.
And
they sent
a
messenger or an
envoy to buy oil
. And
where did he go?
He had to
come to the area of Asher
and
only there did
he find oil.
And
as discussed there
, they
sold him oil for 100,000 tsuzim.
As
discussed in the text of Menachot
,
85b. Verse 25.
Your
locks are iron
and copper. And
the days of your old age will be like the
days of your youth.
Rashi
25. Here,
speaking of the locks, it
says,
your
mountains are
like locks and the
land is rich in iron and
copper.
Here he is
talking about how by now
Moses has
begun to speak to all the different groups together.
Not just to one specific group, but
to all the groups of the Jewish people.
As Rashi says,
"Achshav Medab is the
confederate of
Israel." "Now
he is speaking to the entire
Jewish people. The
strong
men will be
stationed at the border.
Since the
strong
tribes,
such as the tribe of Dan,
were stationed at the border, the
enemies will
not be able to easily enter the land of Israel.
And so it is
considered to be locked
. As if closed with a lock
. Made of iron
and copper bars or
bars.
Another
interpretation of this verse is.
Your land is
surrounded by mountains from
which
you can mine iron and
copper
, because it
was in the area of Asher and
was therefore considered to be the lock of the land of Israel.
One view is that this is
speaking to the general groups of the Jewish people
and telling them
that
they are protected because of the groups.
Another is that this is
specifically
speaking to the tribe of Asher
that the mountains in their
area
had iron and copper
that they could mine.
What you build from the back of the house. The
good
days of a man are the
days of your youth, when you
are strong, these are the
days of your beginning that you
should remember. Can
you say
that the days of old
age are also "Is
that how it
should be? People
usually
suffer from anxiety when they grow old, their
health starts to
deteriorate,
they are plagued by pain and
suffering.
So
the blessing is that even
in old age, he
remains as young and strong as in his youth."
Another
interpretation of the word "Vekha." Cole
Like "The word
means those
days that are
good for you." "
The days that are
good for you, as long as
you
are doing according to the will of God, are,"
Shekol
Harotzot
Ye'Advekha ".
So, "Shekol
Harotzot
Ye'Advekha ",
then your whole
land will
be filled with prosperity." Kesef
V’Zahav, gold
and silver will literally
flow into the land of Israel.
He will look
at them all.
He will look
at them all. The
point here
is, as long as
you
obey God, the
surrounding
countries
will want to buy your goods, so the
gold and silver from all over the world will
flow to Israel.
