Nitzavim-Vayeilech - 7th Portion

Join me as we learnish for Shabas and combined chapter 20 31 verse 20. Yesterday we learned in the Moshe was told by God to remind the Jewish people and to tell Yeshua and encourages him to lead the Jewish people into the land of Israel as well as about the fact that if the Jewish people don't follow their don't follow through on the covenant that God made with them, they go and follow other deities and other gods and therefore they will see the terrible things that come with them. And therefore, Moshe is told by God to write it down, this poem that they should have it as a witness to remember their commitment and the oath and the covenant they made with God. Over here, we continue with this covenant and reminders for the Jewish people. Verse 20, when I bring them to the land, I swore to their forefathers, one that flows with milk and honey and they will eat and they will be satiated and they will live on and live on the fat of the land. and then turn to other gods and serve them and provoke me and violate my covenant. Verse 21 then when they will and then when they encounter all the evils and troubles, this poem will then bear witness to them against them as a testimony as a witness. because it will not be forgotten from the mouths of their offsprings because I know their evil inclination that they do even today what they're planning to do today even before I bring them to the land that I swore to them and this poem will be as a testimony that I warned in the song about all the events that may happen that will not be forgotten. Not only will this song be something that they won't forget, but this is a promise to the Jewish people on the entire Torah that the Torah will never be forgotten from the Jewish people that even in a time where they may not have a clear or even in a time when the Jewish people may go through difficult times, they will always have the Torah on their side. Verse 22. Moshe wrote the song that day and he taught it to the Jewish people and he commanded Yeshua. is now where Moshe gives over his leadership to Yoshua and he gives and he commands Yeshua the son of Nun and he says to him be strong and courageous because you are going to bring the Jewish people to the land that I swore to them and I will be with you that means this is In continuation what before God told Moshe and he brings them into the tent of meeting them like he continues to say to the land that he swore to them. He's not talking about Moshe to the land that Moshe swore to them. He's talking about God is now continuing to tell Yoshua that these are the words of Moshe. Uh if Moshe would have said it would have said like God swore to them but he says I swore to them. This means this is going back and continuing what God is telling Yeshua as Moshe and Yeshua are standing in the tent of meeting. Moshe finished writing the words of this Torah down on a book on a scroll until their very end. Verse 25. Verse 25, Moshe commanded to the Levites, those that carry the ark of the covenant of God, saying, verse 26, take this Torah scroll and place it on the side of the ark alongside the ark. The covenant, the ark, that's the covenant of God your God. Then it shall be remain there as a witness to you. What does the word mean? It's talking about meaning it's a it's a it's not only talking about a one-time event. It's talking about something which you will constantly do. Meaning that there should always be the Torah placed next to the ark. There's an actual debate about where actually this Torah was placed. Some say some say there was a little shelf that was sticking out of the ark of the covenant and they left the Torah scroll there on the side. Some say that actually was inside the ark, but they picked up the top of the ark and next to the tablets there was a spot there that they put the Torah scroll. Verse 27, why am I telling you that they should always be there? And this is now addressing the people as a whole. He continued, he says, "I know you're rebellious and your and your stubbornness difficult one even while I was still alive. You were rebels against God. So surely the same will happen after my death. Verse 28. Assemble before me all your elders and your tribes and your officers name and I will speak these words into their ears. These words and I will call upon the heavens and earth. And I will call upon the heaven and earth as witnesses against them. generally when they called together the people that you would blow into the trumpets. However, that they did not do it because it was for youh Yeshua being that he was going to gather them for his last time. Therefore, at this point, Yeshua was the one that was in charge. Therefore, even while Moshe was alive and he was about to pass, they already put aside those trumpets. And therefore, the you don't recognize the ruler on the day of his passing. That means on the day of Mosha's passing, you didn't see that he was in charge. The very fact that they didn't use the trumpets to summon the people. But didn't he already summon the heaven and earth as witnesses? As it says over there, he said it to the Jewish people, but he didn't summon the heaven and earth. Now that he's about to start the next Torah reading which talks about listen up heaven and earth and now he's already calling upon the heaven and earth as well. Verse 29 because I know there after I pass you surely be corrupted. will deviate from the way that I commanded you and it will and therefore consequently evil will befall you in the end of days because you're going to do bad in the eyes of God to anger him with the work of your hands that you do. How did Moshe say that they're going to destroy after his passing? How do they call you? after Mosha passed during the time of Yeshua the Jewish people were still in good behavior as it says that he serve God all the days of Yeshua from here we learned that the student of a person is just like the man himself as long as Yeshua was alive was if Moshe was still alive and therefore the Jewish people still behaved after Yeshua passed that's when old corruption fell verse 30 Israel and Moshe spoke into the ears of the entire assembly of the Jewish people as a words of the song of the following poem until their completion.
