Yesterday we spoke about the war that the Jewish people waged against the midionite nation and they were able to bring back all the booty and how they gave from the taxes and they split it amongst the Jewish people. Today we continue back to where we're talking about the Jewish people at the time after they conquered the cities of Sikhon and that's where they camped before they go into the land of Israel. With this the Jewish people now put a request two and a half tribes put a request to Moshe. Chapter 32:1 the descendants of God had lots of cattle an abundance of livestock. And they saw the land of Yazer in the land of Gilead. And behold, it was a place where uniquely suitable for livestock. Verse two, and the people of God and came. They said to Moshe, to the leaders of the community, saying three, the cities of and their surrounding areas, Rashi three, these were all the cities from Sikhon and Oak that the Jewish people conquered. And now we're settled in them. Four. Verse four. This is the land that God has struck down before the Jewish people. It's a place of cattle, a land of good cattle, of good pasture, and we have a lot of livestock. Verse five. They said, "If it pleases in your eyes, let Islam be given to your servants as a heritage. We do not want, we will not take any land. Do not take us across the Jordan." Verse six. And Moshe said to the children of God and should your brothers go into war and you will sit here in a way of a question. What is that? How is that right? They're going to go into war and to conquer the land of Israel and you'll sit here and enjoying the lush of the land. Verse seven. And why would you discourage the Jewish people from crossing over to the landm that God is going to give you? You're going to try to convince and discourage people not to go to think that you're afraid to go over the land because of the war and because of the strength of the people. This is what your fathers did. When I sent the spies out from the land of Kesha, I'll lead us to go spy out the land. Kadeshi that was the name Kadesh Kadesh were two cities that were called Kadesh. One that was Kadesh Bara and one that was in mid which was in the Pan desert and the other one was Kadesh which was in the Tin desert. Verse N. And Mosha goes on to say and they went until the valley of they saw the land and they discouraged the Jewish people the hearts of and they disheartened the hearts of the Jewish people from going to the land that they should not go into the land that God gave them. Verse 10. And God got angry at them at that day and swore, saying, "If these people that came up out of Egypt from 20 years and up, will they see if they were if they were to see the land the the land that I promised Abra, Isaac, and Jacob that I because they did not follow what I told them." Meaning none of these men ages 20 leaving Egypt will ever get to see the land because of what they've done. Verse 12 besides Yeshua and the son of because they followed what God said. Why was he called? He was the son of the wife of Kanaz which his mother uh gave birth him from Yeuna and then afterwards she went to marry Kaz. He was like if you want to call it a stepchild asneil and his mother gave birth to him the word and that's why is called the son of kaz and he's his brother of khalif. They had the same mother but a different father. His father was Yapuna and his mother was and his father was Asneil. But because he was brought up by uh [clears throat] by Kh, it doesn't say the son of Kaz, but they call him theite because he wasn't literally his son. He brought him up. Verse 13. And God got angry at the Jewish people. He made them wander in the desert for 40 years until the entire generation that did the bad in God's eyes died. He made them wander like it says by that he would be wandering around. So that's what the same language is. And now, behold, you come in the place of your fathers, using the same as a society of sinful people to add some more to add more against on the anger of against Hashem, the anger of Hashem against the Jewish people like to add more. The word comes to add. You're adding uh insult to injury. Verse 15 that you want to go away if you turn away from and he will leave you and he will leave the Israel in the desert again. He will leave the Jewish people in the desert again and you will destroy the entire people here just because of what you want for your flock. Verse 16. So they approached Mosha and said, "We'll build over here pens for our livestock." And cities for our children. The problem was that they cared for the money more than for their children because they said their money before their children. Moshe said to them, "Not so you're doing them wrong. You got to make what's primary primary and secondary secondary. First of all, you're going to build cities for your children. That's first primary. And only afterwards, pens for your animals." Verse 17. Israel and we will arm ourselves quickly and go in the front lines with the Jewish people until every Jew is brought to their place. Meanwhile, our our our children will live in inhabited in fortified cities because of the inhabitants of the land. Verse 18 of verse 17, we will arm ourselves and go into the front lines. We will be in the front lines. We are very strong. God promised his children that they will be very strong to be able to knock off a head with a shoulder at one shot. Mosha when he gives them the blessing at the end of Deuteronomy, he gives them the same blessing. Therefore, therefore, as I commanded you will go on the front lines before all the Jewish people, all your strong men. And so we find despite the war of Jericho that the says that the strong people went in the front that was referring to God and that they kept their promise to Joshua as they made to Moshe. Verse 18 we will not return to our land until every single Jew is settled in his place. Verse 19. I'm sorry. while we are still in war. Our children will be in these fortified cities in the fortified cities will build them. Now verse 19 we will not take any possession. We will not inherit land on the other side of the on the other side of the Jordan from the other side of Jordan onward because we will take our inheritance now on the east bank of the Jordan River. on the west side.
