Join me as we learnish for Tuesday
parasim
chapter 1 verse 22.
We continue as Moshe tells the Jewish
people and rebukes them about the events
that happened during the 38 years and 40
years that they traveled through the
desert. He continues to tell them about
the rebuke about sending the scouts.
And you all approached me and you said,
"Let us send men ahead of us,
and they will search throughout the
land,
and they will return and tell us about
it,
the place that we will should go, the
way we should go up,
and which cities we should approach."
verse 21.
You all gather together, meaning the
important people and the simple people
as one. Because later on it says in
chapter 5
that you approached me, the leaders of
the tribes and the elders and said,
"Look what this land is all about."
That time you approached that was proper
that was respectful
the children respected the elders and
they sent them before and to speak
and the elders respected the leaders to
go before them.
But in this case where he mentions that
all of you together
here when you say all of you came
together as the children were pushing
the elders the elders were pushing the
leaders and there was no respect in how
you approached this idea.
They should come back and tell us what
language what was the enemy speaking. So
this should be able to help us approach
the enemy and deal with the enemy.
which way we should go because there is
no way that there is no detour. There is
no that you have to take a side road
with. And therefore they said which is
the best out of all these side roads or
out of this crooked way which is the
best one we should go
and the cities we should approach
which should be the first city that we
should approach.
Verse 23.
And this uh this plan pleased me.
And I took from amongst you 12 different
men, one one man per tribe.
Continues.
In my eyes it was fine, but not in the
eyes of God.
But if seemed good,
then why does it rebuke them? If Moshe
agreed with what the Jewish people said,
so why is he rebuking about it?
It's like a guy tells his friend,
"Sell me this donkey." He says, "Fine.
Let me try it out first." He said,
"Fine."
Can I try it out in mountains and in
valleys? Sure. Once the buyer saw
that he's not holding him back from
trying it out wherever he wants. The
buyer says in his heart, "But I'm sure
this is going to be a perfect donkey
because if he lets me take it for a test
drive in any places, that means it's no
problem." Therefore, he says, "Tell me,
here's your money." I'm not going to
test it anyway.
So, Mosha says the same thing as well.
I agree to you to send spies because I
believe
you'll go back on your words.
You'll see I'm not withholding you from
sending spies. That means I'm not
worried about what you're going to find
in the land of Israel. And still I said
go ahead. So therefore I thought you're
going to regret or going to stop at that
already.
The problem is that you continue to
persist to send the spies
and I took from you from the best of
your people
from the crap.
There were 13 tribes. So why? Because
with counting and ley comes at 13. So
why does he say only 12?
This teaches us that the tribe of Ley
did not participate in sending spies to
the land of Israel. Verse 24
and they turned and they ascended the
mountain.
They came until the valley of
spied out the land.
It was called the valley of because of
eventually what would happen that they
would take the vineyard from the the
grapes from there.
That means that it teaches us that they
went in four rows and each one
crisscrossed each other to the length
and the width of the land.
Verse 25
and they took from the some fruit of the
land and they brought it down to us
and they brought us back word of what
was going on. When they said
the land that God is giving us is very
good.
What does it mean? They went out.
It teaches us that the land of Israel is
higher than all other lands. And they
said the land is good.
So who are the ones that said it's good?
Yeshua and Yeshua and Khif. Verse 26.
But you still refuse to go to the land.
Go up to the land.
and you rebelled against the commandment
of God your God
meaning rebelling meaning
you rebelled against his statement verse
and you slandered in your tents
because of God's hatred towards us
he took us out of the land of Egypt
to put us in the hands of the Amorites
to destroy
The words tells us is means slander.
You find in the book of proverbs the
words of slander like a person who puts
that puts out bad words against somebody
else.
God loves you but you decided that God
hates you and you hated God and
therefore you believe that God is your
enemy.
For example, like an individual like
people say
what you think about somebody else, you
think that person thinks about you
because you hate that guy. Therefore,
you think that person hates you.
You took us out of the land of Egypt
because you hate us. Like an example
like a king of flesh and blood that he
had two sons and he has two fields.
One that is watered all the time and one
that you have to depend on the rain.
The one that he loves, he gives the
field that is watered automatically. And
the one that he hates, he gives the one
that you need to depend on rain. This is
what the Jewish people said.
shall you the land of Egypt gets watered
by the Nile River and therefore doesn't
need rain
because the Nile River goes up and
waters everything that's needed
and the land of of Israel depends on
rain
and he took us out of Egypt which is a
land which gets watered automatically.
Why? Because he hates us to take us to
the land of Israel which the land of
Israel is dependent on rain.
Verse 28.
Where can we go up? Our brothers have
discouraged us of saying
we saw there of great people and taller
than us.
Great fortified cities in the sky that
go all the way to the sky.
We also saw the descendants of the
giants there.
The Torah is talking about in ways of
trying to exaggerate and talking about
how something that they saw that was
massive and they came up with different
types of exaggeration even though it's
not exactly the way it was but they came
and told us about this exa and
exaggerated about the things that they
saw.
Verse 29.
And I told you at the time,
do not be afraid of them.
Verse 29,
don't be broken because of it.
Like broken uh the person that's broken
and broken rivers as he talks about in
different places.
Verse 30,
God who goes before you. He will wage
war for you.
just like it did for Egypt right before
your eyes
for you because of you. Verse 31
and is in the desert you have seen and
experienced
that God carried you like a man that
like a man that carries his child along
the whole way that you went
until you actually came till this place.
It's going back to the continuation to
what he said before that God is the one
that wages war for you.
Like everything that God did in Egypt,
so to you, so in God continue to carry
you through the desert. As it says,
like a like a man that carries his
childh like I explained this already
previously in the book of Exodus,
there was an angel that went before the
camp of the Jewish people
and he came between the Egyptians
just like a person who's carrying his
child and robbers come to attack him
from the front, he puts his child
behind. They come to attack him behind,
he puts him in the front and he they
come on both sides and therefore he
carries them and he wages war against
the individuals. So to God they were
coming from all sides and God were
protect was carrying us and protecting
us from all the enemies from all sides.
Verse 32
and in this thing despite all the
miraculous events that you have
witnessed you do not believe in God
regarding this matter
meaning about this thing.
God promises you he's going to bring you
to the land of Israel and you still
don't believe in what he says.
Verse 33,
the God that goes before you
to give you a place to to search out a
place that you should be able to camp
with with fire at night to show you the
way that you should go and during the
day with a cloud
to show you over here. The hay is
missing
and all of these places the hay to show
you should be really there. But the
lament there is missing the the word is
missing the lament to continue with
verse 34
is called and God heard your word your
words
and he became angry and he swore saying
verse 35
if none of these men of this evil
generation will get to see us
the land that I swore to give to your
forefathers.
Verse 36
besides or accept the son of he will see
it
to him I will give the land that he
would trod upon
to his children because
he was loyal to what God has said
the land that he went on was we
mentioned previously in the book of
numbers that he went to the to pray by
the cave the patriarch so therefore
It says later on as it said I'm sorry in
the book of numbers that he came into
verse 37
God was also angry at me because of you
saying you too will not come there 37
he became angry
Yeshua the son of who stands before you
today to serve you he will come there.
Make him strong
because he will be the strengthener
because he will be the one to take the
Jewish people and to enter and to
inherit the land for the Jewish people.
The word
means
get filled with anger. This concludes
the third Torah reading of paras.
