Today's stuff is holding off half base.
We are at the Mishnah eight lines from
the bottom of half base amud off.
Today's stuff is being learned
as a source of Shlema for Eliezer
Yeshaya ben Bracha. Today's stuff is
also being learned for nishmas Zissel
bas Reb Shmuel Halevi.
So,
we're moving along in
the first perek of meseches Chullin
and we're in the middle bit of a
digression.
Now,
the last few dafin might have felt a
little bit like a digression.
Not so much. We dealt with halachas of
melika. Melika is very much meinyan
meinyan but it's the inyan of treifa. In
fact, anything that's kosher treifa is
possible melika. Anything that's kosher
by melika is possible by treifa.
But, in reality,
what we did was
hack a a digression because
we went all in on melika. Regardless, in
today's stuff, it's going to be a little
bit more clear that we're digressing. By
tomorrow's stuff and the stuff after
that, we're going to
wonder how in the world we got to where
we got. We've been learning hackle
treifa. We've been pretty much on point.
Very focused good rekos from the
beginning of the mesechta. But, the
mishnayos are going to do what they
occasionally do. The Gemara always does
this.
>> [snorts]
>> In the mishnah, it's a little bit more
rare and we're going to talk more today
about halachas related to the chata of
and the oil of chata. In fact, if you
look at the chata, they explain that the
mishnah we're about to learn is really
related to that last line of the
previous mishnah. Anything that's kosher
by treifa is possible by melika.
Anything that's kosher by melika is
possible by treifa. And on that note,
Dr. Mishnah, kosher by treifa
possible
so we know that a carbon can be brought
as a bird it can be brought as an the
Torah says very clearly not all birds
are kosher
be brought on the
not even all kosher birds are kosher to
be brought on the there are two birds
specifically that are okay the
and the
in English if this is helpful turtle
doves Tyron and
young doves so clearly they both have
the
safer of doves so I guess they're
related somewhat but it's the Tyron and
the
that are the two birds that are kosher
says the mission rather cryptically
kosher [snorts]
possible
kosher
possible
what does that even mean so anything
that's considered kosher for a Tyron
would by definition make it possible for
a
and the reverse would be true the right
in the beginning is going to bring a
price that's going to elaborate this a
little bit we might as well just speak
it out just to touch the words of the
mission a Tyron had to be older
the Tyron
had to be younger the remiss
Tyron
means young contrast that with Tyron
that it doesn't say
so you get the sense that the Tyron are
more mature and Tyron are less mature
says the mission Tyron if the age the
maturity level of this life is such that
it's kosher for a Tyron well that means
it's a little bit older so by definition
possible
and to the contrary if it's kosher that
means based on its maturity level it's
younger
it's going to be possible
mission continues and says
what is that
what does this mean so if you look at
cuz you must be having
to
solve it [snorts] with that
>> So at some point in the maturation of
the if it develops a yellow so of as
yellow a yellow feather that's yellow
feather it's very nice and it's around
[snorts] its neck so when it's in the
state of
but that will be a possible and the
reason is it's been a smash it's it's
it's too old for it to be considered
but it's too young for it to be
considered
so there's this in between stage and
that is in the world of
what's known as it's neither here nor
there and it's it's neither here nor
there and it's for that reason
going to be possible again we explain
the mission really based on already
preparing today's when you read the
mission in real time you don't even know
what the mission is saying question
what exactly does this mean
when it comes to
the other way around
they're
and
are going to be possible says the price
is a perfect example of where the
mission the price are saying the same
thing or be it the
price is
and the mission is the Torah the last
part of the price was verbatim the
mission the mission however was very
quick because it was missing the first
part but the price of being wordier and
lengthier has that first part as well
another price now what's the
contribution of this price again an
example of we have the same exact that
was disseminated in so many different
ways
the purpose of this price is going to
give us not only the of the mission that
we knew from the mission not only what
the mission really means that we knew
from the first price this next price is
going to give us the sources as well.
Tanura [snorts] bon and tirem it says in
the tire tirem and we learn from there
good tirem of a like tirem it means good
tirem of a like tirem says the price of
because had it not said tirem quote
unquote that teaches me good tirem of a
like tirem I would have thought that
maybe tirem are good as well. Meaning
even though it says tirem so based on
that you would think it's
good tirem of a like tirem but had it
not said tirem
I would have thought that you don't say
good tirem of a like tirem. Why? Because
I would have made a couple of them valid
you know my you know should I big tirem
big tirem
which are not big tirem. How do we know
that? So because it says
but at the end of this long price we'll
have a better understanding of this.
So then that big tirem
big tirem big tirem tirem big tirem
tirem that are big
in big tirem certainly you would think
they should be big tirem
that reason it says tirem and from there
we learn good tirem the like tirem.
Should make a price of you almost can't
even read it. The price of says it says
tirem and from tirem I know good tirem
the like tirem.
Why do I need tirem because really had
it not said tirem I would have thought
that if tirem means good tirem kind of
like tirem should be okay based on
because
we know it's kind of like tirem so
you know where good tirem is possible is
certainly tirem with is
kind of like should be
oh my
it says tirem to teach me good tirem of
a like tirem. If tirem
means good tirem of a like tirem so then
what's the
of the you know?
>> [snorts]
>> And what's the
it says tirem but this would make sense
if it said tirem and good
tirem means good tirem but maybe not
good tirem of a like tirem and based on
the
I would think to be more big tirem. Tell
me a different word. So that's very good
based on tirem I hear good tirem.
Otherwise I have a couple of home to be
married big time. Come on and tell me a
different word that says no.
And
it's
but that's not what we did over here.
It's the same word
so if in the have a minute of the price
of time
based on a couple of home and could be
so good time as well, then what's the
time of the way my time is in to tell me
time of like time and so again, it
sounds like the easiest price you could
learn in this price in a second, but if
you miss bone in for one minute, it's
actually
a moment and the is going to jump on
this in a minute. Now the price goes and
does the reverse with
what does that mean time and the way you
doing
I would have thought that way they know
had an answer
which means time and the way you doing I
would have made a couple of home and
actually should be time and the way you
doing the time and the way it's not
time and the way you doing that that was
the first part of the price of time and
the way you doing yet should be time and
the way you doing the time and the way
you doing the time and the way you doing
the time and the way you doing the time
and the way you doing the time and the
way you doing the time and the way you
doing the time and the way you doing the
time and the way you doing the time and
the way you doing the time and the way
you doing the time and the way you doing
the time and the
in the way you doing not only the little
ones but the bigger ones as one time and
the way you doing the time and the way
you doing it says the way you doing the
time and the way you doing again the
same exact price it says the way you
doing that means [clears throat] time
and the way you doing think to be
married big time as well.
Time and the way you doing the way you
doing the way you doing the way you
doing the way you doing in the first
part of the
exchange
even though the way you doing literally
means time and maybe a couple of home
and married big time time and the way
you doing the way you doing means time
and the way you doing the
What exactly is going on? And that is
the next question. I tell him
what exactly is going on and my rubber
rubber said, let me explain to you
what's happening in this price. The deal
of the time of the price of the words
that way the time and the way you doing
the way you doing the way you doing the
The time and the way you doing all the
time and the way you doing that talk
about the time and the way you doing and
they're married. He was married Shatru,
and what he noticed was a fascinating
observation. He said, "Every single time
we refer to the Torah, we call them the
Torah. And every single time we refer to
the Yayin, we refer to it as the b'nei
Yayin. You don't find one time that it
says b'nei ha Torah, and it says the
Yayin." It's from there that the Tanna
chapped that when it says b'nei Yayin,
b'nei Yayin is davka. Meaning, it's true
the word b'nei Yayin means And based on
the middos sh'atur in the drashos from
the first one being the kal v'chomer,
you could be marbeh d'eilam.
But being that lo l'stam it k'av
v'lichto, if there isn't one time where
it doesn't say b'nei Yayin, so it's a
shina k'asuv l'akeiv, already I think
five times if you can. So based on all
these different mentions of it, so at
that point the Tanna says, you know,
something ben Yayin must be davka. And
that's the shakal v'tah. Now this
explains the second part of the braysa,
that
b'nei Yayin k'tanim v'lo d'eilam.
Why? Sh'yochal v'lo d'eino, maybe be
marbeh d'eilam kal v'chomer from Torah
tam v'lo b'nei Yayin five times, and
from there I learn k'tanim v'lo d'eilam.
Okay, so that's a good diyak to say that
even though b'nei Yayin based on kal
v'chomer it could be marbeh d'eilam, but
at the end of the day no, b'nei Yayin,
b'nei Yayin, b'nei Yayin, b'nei Yayin,
b'nei Yayin is actually m'man. And that
explains the safe of the braysa. That's
the shakal v'tah. B'nei Yayin etzam
could be marbeh d'eilam based on the kal
v'chomer, but tam v'lo b'nei Yayin
countless times. And it's based on that
you have what you have, but you didn't
explain yet the first part of the
braysa.
And the truth is, this diyak of b'nei
Yayin is a very good diyak for this
b'nei Yayin, but it's not such a good
diyak for Torah. And the reason is
because why if you wanted to describe
Torah, and you wanted to tell me even
young Torah are okay, would you have to
say b'nei Torah? A Torah is a Torah is a
Torah. The diyak is a Yayin. Why are you
talking about b'nei Yisrael? Young doves
as opposed to old doves? Yeah, oh, sure.
I have myself a deak. Turtle doves. What
age? I've no idea. What age? She you are
allowed to eat me Sinai. I don't know.
The deak is a deak of b'nei Yisrael.
It's not a deak in Torah. So, we
understand the second part of the
bracha. We really don't understand so
much the first part of the bracha.
That's the Torah's follow up question.
Aim of b'nei Yisrael is the k'sav Torah
min b'nei by b'nei Yisrael where it says
before the Torah min Torah like there it
makes sense to say dafka Torah. Like
them of Torah by Torah where it doesn't
say anything out of the ordinary, right?
Sure. K'saf eis Torah. Right, there's
nothing out of the ordinary over here.
There's no deak to be had. So, I would
think over there by Torah min Sinai the
Torah min Torah min Sinai. So, what's
part of part of the first part of the
bracha? Talmud Torah min Torah even if
it says Torah five times, but there's no
deak to be had. So, the Torah says I'll
explain it to you. Do me of the b'nei
Yisrael. One time of b'nei Yisrael is
dafka and it says Torah min b'nei
Yisrael. So, that's already a basis to
say Torah min dafka as well. And b'nei
Yisrael min Torah min Torah min Sinai.
Of Torah min Torah min Torah min Sinai.
And that is part of this bracha. Let's
go over this bracha in light of the
version 2.0 understanding it. Ton of it.
Ton of taking the bracha from the top or
really the bottom of the base of the
mouth.
It says Torah. Torah means Torah min
Torah min Torah, right? Torah sounds
like uh
adults. Saying that
I don't think you can make a grace of
deak over here because she you have a
deano because you would think based on
the meat of the timer based on the meat
of the timer you'd be the timer as well.
How so? By b'nei Yisrael. She you should
be the timer should be the timer to you
should be the timer and then she you
should be the timer. Talmud Torah min
Torah. What? Torah min Torah min Torah
min Torah. Here's the punchline. What's
the Talmud Torah?
Torah min
The Talmud Torah min is that many times
the Torah puts Torah min together with
b'nei Yisrael.
And for sure there's a deak in the many
mentions of b'nei Yisrael that b'nei has
to be kind of like the Yoyna. And if we
juxtapose Tairum with the Yoyna, so the
Yoyna's stuff could be kind of the
Tairum is also going to be the top
that's good the good Yoyna. So, you're
right. Right out of the gate, Tairum
sounds like Yoyna. And by the way, why
does Tairum right out of the gate sound
like Yoyna? Because it's next to the
Yoyna, which means kind of but it's not
enough of a mashma is to exclude kind of
and forget based on Kal V'chomer, you
would think to be marbeh. But it's
because like the Sh'tam the K'rov
L'choid, every single time B'nei Yoyna
and the heckish, just the juxtaposition
between Tairum and B'nei Yoyna. So, the
Talmud Loymar of the Tairum next to the
B'nei Yoyna and the repetitive mentions
of B'nei Yoyna, B'nei Yoyna, B'nei
Yoyna, that's how I know the Tairum
doesn't just mean G'dolim, it actually
means G'dolim like Tairum and it's
actually so powerful that the end that
it overrides even a Kal V'chomer.
Continuing the B'reisa, B'nei Yoyna
K'tanim V'lo G'dolim. Okay, does that
mean the like G'dolim should have a like
din
or what Tairum should have a like din?
B'nei Yoyna should have a like din and
should have a like din.
So, even though B'nei Yoyna sounds like
Tairum, but does that say that I can't
be marbeh G'dolim as well? Yes, Talmud
Loymar says B'nei Yoyna K'tanim V'lo
G'dolim and what does it mean B'nei
Yoyna again? Like the Sh'tam the K'rov
L'choid me B'nei Tairum um B'nei Yoyna
and because it says B'nei Yoyna so many
times, I know B'nei Yoyna means K'tanim
dafka V'lo G'dolim. Now, the truth is if
you were going to set up this B'reisa in
a methodical way, right? If we had a
vote, which of course we don't, but if
we did, you would almost think that the
B'nei Yoyna part of the B'reisa should
be mentioned before the Tairum part of
the B'reisa because the Talmud Loymar
Tairum of the reisha of the B'reisa is
really coming off the heels of the
Talmud Loymar B'nei Yoyna of the seifa
of the B'reisa. That's true, the ma'aseh
Tairum are mentioned always before the
B'nei Yoyna in the Tairum and And
they're mentioned first in the tyro, so
the price it did what it did. It just
adds a little layer of uh
a mailus that we need to go through in
order to understand the brisa, but
there's nothing more gishmak than going
through a brisa, tearing it apart a
little bit, even
>> [clears throat]
>> pshuta as well mikra dik. And on that
note, another brisa. Tanna Rabbanan,
Yochu Yuchu kol ha tehorim bnei yonah
kesheirim. You would think that all
tehorim bnei yonah should be kosher. Tam
ud leimar, it says min ha tehorim. And
from there we learn v'loi kol ha tehorim
min bnei ha yonah v'loi kol bnei ha
yonah. What's this coming to exclude?
Prat l'chilas ha tziuv sheb'zeh
v'sheb'zeh shepasul. It's coming to be
m'mait what the mishna had mentioned in
the last line, and that is when it's in
this in-between state where it's
b'chilas ha tziuv, where you have the
feather around the neck of the oyf,
which is yocher Rashi says, and it's
yellowish. So that stage of tziuv,
that's going to be possible. Meimsa
tehorim kesheirim. Says the brisa, when
do tehorim become kosher? Min tziuv ha
tziuv means it's too young for the tar.
So at some point now it's going to be
okay. How would you notice that? Mishe
yazivu. So it goes from being in a state
of tziuv, which is yellow, to zihuv,
which is gold. Gold is a lot more
kosher. In fact, if you look at Rashi,
Rashi dibra maskil mishe yazivu sheyehei
kanfei gufon gedolim the feathers of its
guf should be big v'adumim and red umas
zivim and gold k'zahav, literally like
gold. So when it's at that state, now
it's already more mature. Meimsa bnei
yonah
pesulin. And at what point do we say
that bnei yonah are going to be pasul?
Meaning, when are they too old? That's
easy, mishe yazivu. Right? That's the
mishna. That's just repetitive. We're
just mentioning it agav meimsa tehorim
kesheirim, which was not something that
the mishna mentioned. It wasn't
something that this brisa mentioned
either. Another brisa. Tani Yaakov
Korcha. Yakov Korcha said over the
following brysa, "When do bnei Yona
become
kosher?" When do bnei Yona
become kosher? So, what do you mean when
do bnei Yona become kosher? I thought
they're born kosher. They're not.
They're not born kosher. Even the bnei
Yona, like the little uh
birds, even them, they have to be of a
certain maturity in order for them to be
kosher. What is that? And the short
answer is "Mishaya alu." Now, Yakov
Korcha when he said over this brysa knew
everybody was going to ask the same
question. What in the world does Mishaya
alu mean? So,
who told me love who
immediately preempted the brysa and
said, "Let me explain to you what I the
world I meant." I was uh
saying over a brysa that's really
working off a pasuk in Eif Lamed Tes
Lamed. It says
here it's talking about the eagle. And
what it means over there is is the
they swallow blood. So, bird walks in
the field and he sees the dam of a
treifa, so what's he going to do? He's
going to eat that blood, suck the blood,
right? So, as soon as the bird is
at an age that it has no problem eating
the blood off the pnei hasadeh, at that
point it's already considered old enough
to be a bnei Yona. Says the Amora, "Is
there like a way to know this? Or you
have to observe the birds and wait until
you actually see any two of them? Right?
Like how does this work exactly?"
It's actually a siman in the book of the
Yona to know when it's already doing
this. If you got from me pull a feather
out of it and [snorts] it's going to
stop bleeding, that means it's of the
stage already Mishaya alu. And at that
point it's going to be old enough. Wait,
say it again anybody.
Somebody says I want to bring a carbon
and the carbon I want should be an oila
and it should be an oila soif. And he
says that, you know, I'm not sure I
haven't up my mind yet. I'm going to
bring it either from
Those are two good choices cuz those are
the two only choices you have. So, he
says I'm going to bring it either from
They have and then he went ahead and he
brought either
chapter
He ended up bringing two. He brought a
and he brought
which he didn't have to. But, he went
ahead and he brought two and both of
them were in this in-between stage where
they were
What's the law? Such a good
What are the two Again, we know the
if it's
is possible. Why?
It's too young. We know the
if it's
is possible. Why? Cuz it's too old. So,
if you said
and you brought
that's a
I realize
What
you said was other
other
and you only have to bring one. What you
did was you brought two and they're both
in the state of Yeah. What's the
So, explain. Is the reason that
is possible
we have a
it's
a we So, we're not sure if
right now it's old or it's young. Well,
then
it's either old or it's young. So,
either the is kosher or the is kosher.
If that's the case, then
we're not
It could be when it's in the state of
it's a It's like an in-between stage.
Right?
When it comes to an issue, this
and and
Right? Three different
So, it could be there's like this
in-between stage. is not so
so
and
the
is
right? Just in terms of you see she
she's not a yet. So, there's this
concept of
where you can be in this in-between
state. If it's a barrier, means it's
talking not old, it's talking not young.
And based on definitely nothing, you're
not going to be able to in this case
either. My rubber rubber said touch my
bring you a right from the price we just
mentioned a second ago. Because the
prices said that how do you know Trillo
Sazio is an issue? It's only done from a
possum. It says men have to him or men
been a young man. And from the word men,
we may might probably Trillo Sazio shall
be shall be
shall possum now says
or rather e I'm going to push my barrier
have a push life you're going to tell me
Trillo Sazio is a barrier we know what
it is. We know what it is. There's no
traffic. We know exactly what it is. So
shopper, I understand why the Torah had
to tell me that you should know that
this in between state is not God with
not cotton and it's a meat in the world
of Torah and it's a meat in the world of
Ali Amitzvik. I have a briefing you're
going to tell me that really it's a
speaker. That means we don't know what
it is. We have a topic but copy could
you be copy Schmier Gallia it is. It's
the problem with the speaker. You never
find such a thing that a possum would go
ahead and it would be my a topic. I
can't if any of the Torah would tell you
how to treat Trillo Sazio. It's kosher
for the Torah or it's kosher for the Ben
Yona but the Torah is not going to say,
oh it's a problem for this cuz the topic
is probably cuz the topic. Yeah, for us
it's a topic. Right? For us it's
by David because there's no speaker copy
Schmier. So it doesn't make any sense
that you would have a possum to go ahead
and be my it be my it the speaker. So
said rubber touch my I think I'm a
foolish of the speaker is Schmier by
you. There's no question in the world
that you see from here that Trillo Sazio
barrier have a not speaker have a most I
get.
The Gamora says it's not cuz I'll tell
you that the words men have to him or
men been a young man not coming to be my
Trillo Sazio. In fact, here's the
problem with a never
the never coming to be my in life that
was a never engaged in
or never that was the subject of a week
of Zora.
But as it relates to as it relates to
the halacha of trilos atzilos that you
really do not need a possuk for. Okay,
so what was pshat in that braysa? So
Rashi
the af gav the tanuk tanay bracha trilos
atzilos. Top line of gimel amud aleph
asmach d'alma. Really it's an asmach
d'alma. Ula olam psulayu mishum sfeka.
But really it's possible because of
sfeka. The bottom line is if the drasha
was a real drasha then that din would be
checked me. And that's what Rava said.
But the Gemara is doiche. The Gemara
says Rava, we know a lot of drashos of
Chazal are not real drashos. They're
only asmach d'alma. If it's an asmach
then you don't have a shaila and that's
where the clerk had a shaila. Because R'
Zeira probably knew this braysa. But at
the same time even though he knew it he
still felt that there was no hechrech
100% that it's a real bonafide drasha.
To the extent it's not a real bonafide
drasha, you have no makor. Either way,
so what just came out? What do we really
exclude from the words min ha Torah?
Yeah, I know. It's lumute nirva and it's
lumute neved. Right? You have two mins.
One is coming to tell me nirva is
excluded. One is coming to tell me neved
is excluded. Now it's a little bit of a
chiddush that you would need this. You
know why it's a chiddush? Because we
know already from right in the beginning
of Vayikra min ha beheima, right? Min ha
boker min ha tzon that we mamait a whole
bunch of things. Rashi Chulish brings
it. The Gemara has mentioned it several
times in Zvachim and Menachos. And we
know that we mamait from all those mins
that talk about beheimos, that talk
about zvachim, we mamait
nirva, we mamait neved, we mamait other
things as well. But the bottom line is
why then would I need a new drasha min
min to tell me that by an ayil a nirva
and a neved is possul if I know it
already by beheimos me? I'm just in the
flow of the Gemara. Bishlama if min is
coming to mamait trilos atzilos, ah, so
it's very good. The
Torah couldn't rely on all the mins it
mentioned by shor kesiv vayis because
what shor is has nothing to do with
this. But if you're going to tell me
that no, that's only an asmach d'alma.
That's just the for good measure, but
the real mute is never. And the real
mute is never. Well, that I know already
from Behemoth. So, there must be a
reason that the Torah feels it needs to
be reminded specifically of this and we
can't just rely on what we know already
from Behemoth and that's the last part
of the Gemara. So, the Gemara says, you
want to know why you would need a
special direction and a special mute for
never and never when it comes to this,
I'll tell you. I still could have would
have thought how it looks like being
that it says in the Torah
>> [snorts]
>> regarding Behemoth. Kimashchosam
Behemoth, Mumbam, and then there is a
possuk is Lo Yirotzeh Lochem. So,
[snorts] Kimashchosam Behemoth, Mumbam.
The Torah in the name of Rabbi Shmuel
and the sheep of Rabbi Shmuel, they talk
about Kimashchosam. Wherever you find
the word Hashchosam, Mashchosam is
Miloshan Hashchosam and this Joshua.
Wherever it says the word Hashchosam in
the Yallah, Dvar Ervah, Avodah Zarah,
it's always referring to Arayos and
Avodah Zarah. Dvar Ervah D'ksiv Ki
Hishchis Kol Basar Arke Elor, Sparshas
Noach. Avodah Zarah D'ksiv Pen
Tashchisun Va'asisem Lochem Pesel. But
the bottom line is the Torah put
together Mashchosam Behemoth, which
means Gila Arayos and Avodah Zarah with
Mumbam, with the Mum. Therefore, I would
have thought Kol Shemon Pasul Boi, any
type of Korban with a Mum Pasul, Dvar
Ervah Avodah Zarah Pasul Boi as well.
Avodah Zarah in a Mum Pasul Boi, ain't
Dvar Ervah Avodah Zarah Pasul Boi. And
again, what Shayich is the Ervah and
Avodah Zarah have to Mum? Kimashchosam,
which means Ervah and Avodah Zarah
Mumbam. And if that's the case for any
Oifes, when it comes to those birds, I
would have thought Pasul Mumbam. Being
that there is no Pasul Mumbam in the
Adam and my Tamus was Zachrus Behemoth.
If ain't Tamus was Zachrus Behemoth, the
whole concept of Tamus as opposed to
Mumbam and Zachrus as opposed to Nekev.
This is a Sugya when you're learning
Behemoth, but it's not a Sugya when
you're learning Oifes. So, I would have
thought Dvar Ervah Avodah Zarah Pasul.
Maybe those also shouldn't be Pasul.
Kimashmalon, that's why I need to know
Mum men to be mighty never and never the
rushes coming to be mighty never and
never the
is not coming to be mighty
is it a
dick or is it a barrier?
lives with a shiloh exhales so
rather short light daf
and again very much
digression
the next
sugars we're going to see is going to
get involved already in
of parah dumah and then we're going to
get involved in the age of
being able to do the
we're going to get involved in
and it's all going to follow the same
signal what's
it's possible that and what's possible
that it's possible that this but the
bottom line is what was today's uh
topic it was the and the these are the
two birds that are caused to be brought
as a carbon
and the mission to say
possible
possible to turn
is
possible but what does it mean but
it has to be a little bit older
if it's all the have to be a little bit
younger if it's old enough to be a tire
it's too old to be a and if it's young
enough to be a
it's too old to be a tire and what's the
the short answer is
which time it crawl the lift them in the
middle of it always says
but
certainly a dick and from the fact that
it always comes together with the tire
tire tire that hectic tells me that tire
is for sure
and the
is going to be tough cuz well so
obviously
>> [snorts]
>> if today's tough was about and I think
it's good to talk a little bit about
that
so from all the different offices that
you find that are kosher
by the way so you have and what's
considered a kosher oif and a non-kosher
oif is very much
later in Maseches Chulin Sugya.
But from all the different oifis, the
Torah said that there's two that can be
brought as a korban. It's the
turtledove, the tor, and the ben yonah,
and the dove. The Ramban in his Pirush
Al HaTorah, and this is in Parshas
Vayikra, it's perek aleph, pasuk yud
dal, this is the first time the Torah
introduces us to the tor and the ben
yonah. The im min ha'oif olah korbon
l'Hashem, v'hikriv min ha'torim o im min
bnei ha'yonah es korbonoi. Says the
Ramban, "Bochar ha'kosuv bishneiha minim
ha'olah." The Torah chose from all the
different options to have these two
species bavur sheheim metzuyin ukreivim
l'hitofes, because they live close by
and they're very easy to catch. You
don't have to be a professional hunter
to be able to get them. Kasha Rabeinu
and this is in the same vein as what
Chazal said b'shor, se, v'se iz,
that
the reason that the Torah chose the
shor, the kesev, and the iz
the cattle, the sheep, and the goat as
the kosher animal for korbanos, it's
based on that very same reason. It's
based on the fact that these are animals
that are around, they're very easy to
come by. It says the Ramban, "Just like
Chazal said this regarding the shor, the
kesev, and the iz, I'm showing this too.
I think this is the same exact reason
when it comes to the tor and the ben
yonah." Now, what's this Chazal that the
Ramban is referring to? It's a Medrash
Rabba, it's in Vayikra chof zayin vov.
Omar Rabi Yehuda bar Rav Simon, "Omar
Hakadosh Baruch Hu, asarah minei
beheimos masarti l'cho. I've told you
that there are 10 types of animals that
are kosher. Shloshah b'reshuscha, three
of them are very easy to come by.
V'zayin einam b'reshuscha, the other
seven are not so easy. Shloshah
b'reshuscha, what are the three that are
in your reshus? Shor, se, v'se iz.
V'zayin einam b'reshuscha, what are the
seven that are not I
said
perhaps
talking what you attract the
you should know I was never
I didn't tell you you have to go find
those other seven that are not
it's not from the ones that are your
shoes those three men have got all
from the ones that are literally being
raised upon your truck
these are the three minutes that are
going to be kosher so says the
>> [laughter]
>> it's
as it relates to the
those that be
and it's possible to me that the same
exact spot would be true as it relates
to the tournament of
you know it's interesting
everyone knows that the in his mirror in
he like slushy is my in me a bonus and
random says things that I was very
unpleased with that one of my taking and
most basic thing that said and that
thesis as it relates to
was that the whole year state of was
because you didn't want the other desire
specifically
the Egyptians and the whole Indian of
was to try to be
them and try to be them and distance
them from what that desire was all about
and one of the things that the says was
that's the reason that the three men
that were chosen to bring us
with the and the and the
because
ironically and counter intuitively these
were the three animals that the would
never
in fact they used to worship the and the
so if we're going to go and we're going
to try to go to
eradicate any remnants of desire of the
Egyptians you know what we do we take
what they considered holy
and we make that the actual sacrifice
THAT WE'RE BRINGING TO A WEEK AND THE
HOLY. So it's mom being I care about
that we deserve the Egyptians. That's
the way the Rambam explains the shore
the case of
and the ace. But as it relates to as it
relates to the office as it relates to
the birds says the Rambam
So therefore the third gives you an
option to bring the carbon from the
earth.
And the office that were picked were the
ones that were the most prevalent in
earth Israel.
Also the nicest, the handsomest and
the ones that are easiest to catch
So even the Rambam who has a dark
when it comes to show the case of
but when it came to tell me
there he was master to show the matches.
By the way the Rambam if you look at the
mirror inside he
speak out the matches as a sniff. He
says by the way these three animals were
also called with this. But there he
brings it more as an after thought. Over
here this is the one and only reason
that the Rambam had. So when it comes to
the show the case of the equal reason is
the Rambam's famous thesis. But when it
comes to the term of the here the Rambam
says that the shot must be because of
what the Rambam essentially says all the
time which is really taking a matches
that's talking about the behaima and
showing it to.
You know in here in Noah spoke out an
incredible measure of my in which we had
to discuss speak a lot of measure in
this from this master and from last
master this week. So I think it's just
good that I speak out one more measure
of my and that is when Noah took the
animals and he brought them into the
table so he was told to take and and
right to take two of each with the
exception of the kosher animals. However
got me a show my show show so and a
giver the
zero I'll break all
>> that why when it came to the kosher
animals was Noah told to take more? The
reason is it was because Noah was going
to have to bring carbonas when he LEFT
THE TABLE
THAT'S WASHING RASHI. So come here
it sounds from here that Noah when he
left the table, he brought carbonas from
every single kosher animal. Not every
kosher animal is kosher to be brought as
a carbon. When it comes to behemoths
and when it comes to ofois, it's my
aina.
Seven from every behema and from every
of. Not every behema and every of kosher
that is is kosher to be brought as a
carbon. That's the most obvious question
that everybody should have asked himself
at some point.
Pedes Medrush that etzem really every
single animal
technically theoretically could have
been brought as a carbon. None of us I
wasn't mature with you to take something
that YOU DON'T HAVE CLOSE BY. And the
Ramban says this is not only true for
BEHEMA IT'S TRUE FOR OFOIS as well. Even
the Rambam who has A KARINA WHEN IT
COMES TO this is maskin that came to the
time of this must be the only shot.
Doctor Sameach that you with dairus when
the year they were going to have to go
catch animals so they would make sense.
Only this three that are kosher not the
sign that are kosher. When it comes to
the ofois what are they going to start
catching all these ofois? But Noah when
he left the table he had all the animals
with him. And for him it wasn't a
tircha to go ahead and take the ayal and
the tzvi and the yael and the and the
disha and the and the all of that reason
those animals had to have seven seven.
All those animals were considered
kosher.
Obviously and kosher
as well because the time of that rabba
was not yet in effect. The truth is
there's another reason that the give why
it is that it was these animals the shor
and the kesef and the ace that were
chosen in order to be
the animals that would go in the
misbecha. And this is also a Vayikra
Rabbah. You just have to turn back a
couple of pages from the one that we
were just learning. That was chof zayin
vov, and this is chof zayin hey.
The medrish says as follows. [ __ ]
Melech said in Koheles, "Vo'elokim
yevakesh es hanirdof." Hakadosh Baruchu
is mevakesh. Literally,
he seeks out
the nirdof, the people that are being uh
chased, the people that are being
persecuted. Says the medrish, beautiful
medrish. Rav Huna b'shem Rav Yosi
b'Rabbi
Lo oilam vo'elokim yevakesh es hanirdof.
Hakadosh Baruchu is always in Elokim
yevakesh es hanirdof. Ata motzei tzaddik
rodef tzaddik. Sometimes you find that
tzaddik is going to be rodef a tzaddik.
You find that. Vo'elokim yevakesh es
hanirdof. Said Rav Yosi. Sometimes you
find a rasha is rodef a tzaddik.
Vo'elokim yevakesh es hanirdof.
Sometimes you find a rasha is rodef a
rasha. Vo'elokim yevakesh es hanirdof.
And sometimes you find that a tzaddik is
being rodef a rasha. Kornei the medrish
Rabbainu. Vo'elokim yevakesh es
hanirdof.
In every single situation, it doesn't
matter who the rodef is or who the
nirdof is. Vo'elokim yevakesh nirdof.
Says the medrish writer. Rav Yuda bar
Rav Simon Amar b'shem Rav Yosi bar Rav
Nehorai. Lo oilam Hakadosh Baruchu
teve'a dom min adam rodef min a rodef.
Hakadosh Baruchu is always teve'a the
nirdof from the rodef. Tei da l'cha
shekacha hu. I'll prove to you the way
it is. Shekein Hevel nirdof mipnei
Kayin. Kayin Hevel was a nirdof from
Kayin. Kayin killed Hevel. U'vachra
Hakadosh Baruchu b'Hevel. Noach nirdof
mipnei doroi. V'lo bachra Hakadosh
Baruchu ela b'Noach. Avram nirdof mipnei
Nimrod. U'vachra Hakadosh Baruchu
b'Avram. Yitzchak nirdof mipnei
Plishtim. U'vachra Hakadosh Baruchu
b'Yitzchak. Yaakov nirdof mipnei Eisav.
U'vachra Hakadosh Baruchu b'Yaakov.
Yosef nirdof mipnei eyav.
>> Yes, the Rabbi Yossi ben Zimra Here's
the postscript after carbonis came. The
same is true when it comes to carbonis.
All men are kodesh baruch kodesh baruch
who said shoyr nirdof mipnei ari. The
shoyr is a nirdof from the ari. Ayis
nirdof mipnei namer. The ayis, the goat,
is hunted by the nam, the leopard. Kasev
mipnei sayif. Like sacrievo lefon I'm in
a roytfin. Elo min an nirdofin. Ado
d'kasev shoyr ayis kasev ayis kiveisi.
This is another reason the medrish gives
why it's these three animals because
these are nirdofin. Well, it came
yivakesh es an nirdof. So, we take the
nirdof and that's what the Aibershter
says, this is what I want. Now, it's
interesting. This medrish is also
talking about the beheimos. It's talking
about the shoyr ayis kasev ayis. But
over here we have a chazal that still
suit this to the oifos and that's a
gemara. It's a gemara above a kama in
the end of perek achoyvo daf tzadikim
amud alef. The gemara
over there says omer Rabba bar Rabba bar
said lo oilam yehei odom min an nirdofin
v'lo min a roytfin. A person should
always be from the nirdofin v'lo min a
roytfin. By the way, what's the oilam?
Doesn't matter. Russia tzadik. Lo oilam
lo oilam yehei odom min an nirdofin v'lo
min a roytfin. She ain lo chul nirdof
b'oifos yoiser mitar mipnei ayin.
Because there's no bird that's more of a
nirdof than the tarnegol mipnei ayin.
Because shoyr ayis kasev ayis goes on
the mizbeach. Also, the two that go on
the mizbeach. So, this is really another
reason why is the shoyr ayis kasev ayis
with a tzushtel to the tarnegol mipnei
ayin. This is not the Ramban's tzushtel.
This is a gemara's tzushtel. But, the
bottom line is we have two mahalchim.
Two roads explain why it's the term in
the Bnei Yisrael, which really emerged
from the two reasons why it's the Shai
and the Kessef and the Ais. Again, this
is something we mamash have to have in
our bones. Not every kosher animal was
right to be put on the Mizbeach. As it
relates to Behemos, it was the Shai, the
Kessef, and the Ais. As it relates to
Oifos, it's today's daf. It was the
Torim
and it was the Bnei Yisrael. And why is
it the Shai or Kessef or Ais? And why is
it the Torim and the Bnei Yisrael? So,
there's really two Mahalkem that we
have. The first Mahalk is the Shai and
the Kessef and the Ais of the Shulchan
and the Ramban tells you the Ramban in
the Moreh as well, who are then with
regards to the Torim and the Bnei
Yisrael. The other Mahalk is because the
Shai and the Kessef and the Ais are near
a dolphin. And here the Gemara tells you
in Bava Kamma daf gimel that the same is
going to be true for the Torim and for
the Bnei Yisrael. But here's the
follow-up question in light of today's
daf. And that is why are the Torim dafka
older? And why are the Bnei Yisrael
dafka younger? Right? The Tor had to be
older. The Bnei Yisrael had to be
younger. What's that all about? So, if
you go back
in the Ramban al ha Torah, he explains
this. Zogt the Ramban, "Aval rotzeh ba
Torim hagdolah me'od." The Torah dafka
wanted that the Torim should be older.
The reason is bavur prishusam vihi
dafkan.
It's because of the fact that they are
prushim and they are very much attached
to their mates. They're incredibly
loyal. Bi yodua, because it is well
known she akiva she avad zugoi, that if
a Tor, a turtle dove, loses his mate, lo
yidbak le acher le oilam. The Tor is
going to remain an agunah. It's never
going to be mistabek with somebody else.
The Tor is going to wait for its mate to
return. The Knesseth Yisrael Knesseth
Yisrael is the same way. Devek ba Shem
Elokeinu velo yidbeku be acher le oilam.
Knesseth Yisrael is the same way. Aval
ha yonim, when it comes to the yonim,
cannot mate. They're actually cannotim.
They're very different. Uveken osam,
yispardu veyachlifu. They are a feel
LIKE TIKCHAS SHULAI. THAT'S FOR THEM IS
LIKE considered
they're ready going to go ahead and say
you know what this is not for me okay
and it's for that reason
so we don't want them when they're older
cuz when they're older then they come
with baggage and we're not interested in
that but at the same time when they're
younger we do why
because the owner when it's young us
they
used to be
it's more attached to its nest where it
was raised than all the other
birds The owner
all the different
birds if someone's going to touch their
nest what
they're going to say you know what this
is not for me but
they're never going to nest here again
but the owner doesn't do that
but the owner
will never
exchange
their creator and their creator Hello
are you who do you says the owner
so what a beautiful
either live as a Jew or I'm willing to
be hanged and it's for that reason says
the owner that even within the world of
the owner
I could just chose the
owner
what's the
between the owner and the owner
that's how the owner is loyalty they're
both loyal the owner that's the owner is
loyal to its mate and the owner
that's young is loyal to its nest And
the idea is I could just want loyalty I
could just want that we should be by
the owner for you
what THE OWNER WANTS IS
THEY WISH TO WANT LOYALTY FROM US AND
THESE TWO BIRDS THESE REPRESENT LOYALTY
SO YOU WANT TO KNOW WHY the main of the
owner
that's the first part of this raid by
but you want to know why it's the God
will by the time I'm in the cut of the
day and who said that's the way it is
who in the hot base talked away right
you don't expect to find this on who
but this is who in the hot base the
reason is because these are the two
offers that display loyalty and really
what it is it's all about the loyalty so
just the end and today is air force
and today's stuff is
the [snorts]
stuff of the first day of force
I was thinking
the passage says in here in
this is in paragraph base
passage
just the picking up in the narrative
over here has to self over
the winter passed I guess I'm going to
laugh all the way
right those wintery storms those cloudy
days
they're all in the rearview mirror I
need some of them
near about it the flowers are beginning
to bloom ace has summer here yeah you
can hear chirping in the air
and the voice of the tar is something
that can be heard in the land
so continued in his very poetic way
hunter fogel
and he goes on and he says how
some of the beautiful in here and here
and
>> [snorts]
>> here but what's the setup the setup is
that
the clouds are dispersing you can feel
the good weather
you can hear the chirping in the air
you
can hear the turtle doves already
chirping and that's a sign that good
times are coming That's a sign the call
out to the smell about saying no the
going in this period of Shira Shirin
says what does it mean the call out to
the smell about saying no. So the going
and I quote period at all at all.
The Torah is referring to the Torah. So
he
a sleeping at all and what
was saying in here is the call out to
the smell about saying no was that the
time for Martin Torah had arrived who
I'll have seen I and it was weird it was
about saying no and I said the going to
say NO
SO WHAT IS going on at all.
Tell the going the going to say the call
out to the smell about saying no okay in
the world of that's a that sounds easy
but the call out to the smell about
saying no saying no is
like what's saying no of course it's
saying no so saying no and what is that
referring to it's referring to Martin
Torah which happened on saying no cuz
saying no is my saying no to the going
to say no didn't happen in saying no
saying no happened in the middle of
the
another going this going is saying no
it's saying no
the going to say one more
extra the going to say no
saying no is only in a scholar in saying
no come on say no I feel saying no
the going to say no and
I love saying no etc etc I'm skipping
come on say no I love
saying no
I'm saying no skipping a little bit
saying no
I love saying no I love saying no
so the going to say no
piece where he says saying no I'm saying
no
so the going to say no I feel saying no
and that's what the going to say no I
want to go and say no anymore at that
point it was
saying no saying no I LOVE SAYING NO I
LOVE SAYING NO
SO THE GOING TO SAY NO I LOVE SAYING no
what do you mean I love SAYING NO
THAT'S A
NO YOU JUST SAID THAT SAYING NO
SO WHAT DOES SAYING NO HAVE TO DO WITH
anything the going to say no the going
to say no the going to say no the going
to say no
the going to SAY NO
THE GOING TO SAY NO
SO THE GOING TO SAY BUT IT WAS
THE
AND IT'S
what does that mean by our Sinai? It
means our Sinai show
my Israel. So I saw
in the Masada of Coke edition of the
Shir Hashirim
on
the going speech on Shir Hashirim.
And the
very very lengthy so they were written
by Rabbi Leo Cohen who's been having
going with David Cohen. The heaven of
Yeshiva. So Rabbi Leo Cohen been Rabbi
David Cohen the heaven of Yeshiva he
says what's the
he says the is based on a measure. This
measure isn't the hill in it's in the
hill in some of his. The measure says
the Sinai may have come about. Where did
our Sinai come from?
Rabbi Yosi said may have may have really
it came from Har Hamelech.
>> [laughter]
>> And it was separated like a woman is not
power. That's how our Sinai was ripped
apart from Har Hamelech.
It came from the of the
of the of the of the
being that
was
he was
on this mountain. No
that's the place that's most appropriate
for to be of the
you want to know where our Sinai came
from you want to know the rest of the
story the time of said in this measure
our Sinai is really the Har Hamelech
because Har Hamelech was not her and it
went into the and why did it happen? It
happened because of the who made a
husband. He said of the OF THE OF THE OF
THE OF THE
SO RABBI LEO Cohen says that I heard
from my father. This is the heaven of
Yeshiva of David Cohen. He said that the
more says in time is that
my Har Hamelech Why is Har Hamelech
called Har Hamelech? So the more says
one said
this is the mountain where came
and the other one said
This
is where
the carbon come from.
Why is
place with this year for the
higher of
you want to know what the year it came
to
my life
cuz when I
gave the
came to the
Arab Yara the
and from there you see that by Harrison
there was Yara and that's how Maria
shall be Sham
my life is faith in my show Russia was
taller in a
just the Russia and
Russia and China is my not be Russia but
it's the
what is a Russia and how many years is
not seen a how MANY YEARS IS
HOW MANY YEARS is with the
SO WE ALL SAY
MAY
THE HEAVEN RECEIVE
he said the feed this magic still in
which is a going in two places that you
see how
the end of it
might be you want to know why CUZ IT WAS
WHO FRESH from the mcintosh the
only
all this was A STICK HOW MANY YEARS
THE TIME IT WAS GIVEN ON
BUT IT WAS REALLY HOW MANY YEARS AND
THAT'S THE THING and that misses if you
think about this if you miss buying and
this is not the day for this but if you
miss buying and a little bit the
relationship
between
the
comes into a whole another light when
you appreciate the fact that how many
years
is really how many years first of all
can we see
the wood
in Jerusalem right it's literally how
many years was what how many years was
the fact that the goddess sat in the
what was the
that was the end of the show
really
where they they sat in the what
they sat on how many years but when how
many years is how many years makes a lot
of sense they would be sitting on how
many years they are the only parishes
true which the references in different
places. If I must talk to you off if
somebody understands the Sukkot of Mount
Sinai, he'll understand the whole side
of the Mishkan because the Gilui
Shechina of Har Sinai was the same as
the Gilui Shechina of the Mishkan.
Sinai is Har Moriah. The Mikdash and
Mount Sinai Shevet Levi whose avodah is
to be in the Mikdash. We know there were
two halves. On the one hand Shevet Levi
does the avodah, on the other hand
Yaakov is so they teach Torah. WHAT'S
THE MAKOM TO TEACH TORAH? WHERE IT WAS
GIVEN TO YISRAEL. That's the place to
teach Torah. It's something that's
supposed to be done in Har Sinai. But
either way the Gaon says that you want
to know what it means ha Torah. You want
to know what it means
it's the call of Torah. And what does it
mean
by
nishma v'naseh means Har Sinai. She who
come
in the shock in the
the call of is the call of the turtle
doves. But in the
the in the
say the Vilna Gaon it's actually
referring to the first day of Shavuot.
It's referring to the call of Matan
Torah. It's the call God basic
that call the
was to hear the call of Baruch
where Yisrael literally heard
Baruch say I will hear you.
That's the call that this is referring
to. The truth is another shot. That's
brought down in a rabba in
rabba. This is base tes. The call nishma
in
what's this call
nishma means means the call of the
turtle doves. Is this what this means as
the the call of Hamashiach. It's
referring to the call of Hamashiach. The
call of
Hamashiach
the call nishma
is referring to the call of the
Hamashiach. So just be Messiah there
with a
of the call
of the of all Yisrael. that sits and
