Well, uh, recently
I mentioned that Kavanelli's one-month
anniversary is today.
Before they got married on March 23rd,
we had to make sure that our brand new
son-in-law had everything he needed
from a brand new Talis, brand new Shabas
Talis,
uh, Talis bag, filling bag. I don't even
remember was on the list. I got to check
with Ellie Hoffder. He'll tell us
exactly what was on the list. uh we had
to make sure he had everything he needed
before the wedding, before the U of
roof. And sure enough, Ellie Hoffadder,
who we met a few uh actually a couple of
years ago, we met him uh when he was
still in the brickandmortar Judeica
business.
Um he has this service called Kassen
Central where they literally meet the at
your home. They literally come to our
home
and they do all the measurements and all
the questions and all the uh you know
suggestions
and all the latest and greatest in the
world of what's available
and they put together the entire set of
everything he needs and then they
deliver it before the yoof and you're
all set. You never have to leave your
home. Service is great. Ellie Hoffadder
is on top of everything. And this is the
type of thing, this conversation today
is the type of thing you're going to
want to bookmark because may not apply
to you today, but the moment you have a
brand new son-in-law coming into your
family,
um, that's when you're going to want to
contact Ellie.
You can contact Ellie Hoffadussen
centralgmail.com. There's two s's in
kussen centralgmail.com or by dialing
5169162665.
Ellie Hoffadder, a pleasure to welcome
you to JM and the AM.
>> Thank you very much.
>> How long ago did you leave the uh
brickandmortar Judeica world and get
into the face-to-face deal directly with
customers world?
So the brick and mortar we actually
opened during COVID and closed it a year
later during CO seeing that that was not
working out and we transitioned the
business, turned it around, rebranded
and got rid of all the overhead, rent,
inventory, workers, and were able to
adjust, cut costs, and be able to pass
that along to the customer by just
coming straight to the house with a
suitcase filled with all the different
items needed. And everything you would
see in the store is basically fits in
that suitcase.
>> And you've gotten to the point where
Husten Central, which again you started
yourself, now has like branches in a
bunch of different areas in this
country. Right.
>> That is correct. We have six
salespeople.
Uh we're located in Brooklyn, Lakewood,
Muny, Five Towns, Payic, and Baltimore.
>> Unbelievable. So, literally anybody in
any of those locations, they call the
number I gave and they could set up an
appointment to start the whole process.
>> Yep. You could call, text, WhatsApp,
email. Um, as long as you you could get
in touch with us, we could get in touch
with you and we can do a virtual
appointment as well if you're not in any
of those locations.
>> Very interesting. Look, the reason we're
recommending you, frankly, is because uh
our experience was so good. We love
when, you know, people that we're
dealing with in business are on top of
things and follow up and keep their word
and, you know, and appreciate when, you
know, when we do the same. And that was
the experience with you. So, this was
really a very, very pleasant experience.
What was on the list, by the way? What
did we do with my son-in-law? I know
that both the you got us both the Shabas
talis and the weekday talis. How did we
dress up the shabas talis? A beautiful
aturara. Correct.
>> Correct. Um you what Ellie got was
actually pretty typical for most as it's
usually two talisim one for shabas one
for weekday
>> uh with an atara he got but not every
wears an atara we got a klel
>> uh a shabas towels bag a weekday to bag
set
>> and then there were some additional
options that we offered not everyone
wants them or needs them but like a
middle band on the talis or initials on
the corner of the talis which happens to
be he didn't get. But some people like
it because when you're going to shul and
you put down your talis after going to
the bathroom going to kadesh and you
want to identify your talis um if it has
your initials embroidered on the corner
you could easily uh find yours. Um so
that's an additional thing that a lot of
people do and it's not very expensive.
Um and then the weekday soul bag set
most people get a shoulder strap which
Ellie got. Um and that's basically it
for the actual custom package at the
appointment. But then again, we also
offer the other items after which is the
shas leather sets for the or the kawa.
If the wants to get for his kawa, we do
leather mazar sets for the kawa or for
the we do benches for the wedding if
some people want to do that. Um we also
sell muzas if they need for their
apartment. We do all the big ticket
Judeaic items. And if you're not and
it's not just for a anyone who wants a
new talis bag or wants to upgrade their
talis or atara or anything like that, uh
we're happy to do an appointment. And
you'll you'll even uh you'll even sell
the father-in-law a brand new weekday to
talos if he's been using the same
weekday to talos for 35 years
>> pretty much. Exactly.
>> By the way, I love the new talos. I love
it. And people don't realize all the
different sizes. You know, it's hard.
It's hard to size me up, so to speak.
Although maybe in your case, it's not so
hard to size me up. You just get me the
largest one. But
>> pretty much that's that's what it was.
But it's uh you know you literally take
measurements and make sure that
everything fits as well as possible.
Ellie Hopstat is with us. Take it down
folks. Husten [email protected] and 516
9162665.
So if you're not only servicing Kussens,
I have to assume that prep you were
really busy. A lot of people like to
make talis switches and get new stuff
before the big holiday.
>> Yeah, before the holidays are always our
busiest seasons. you know, Pesh Pesak is
actually not not even the biggest. It's
>> rashukas
because then you have kits lul bags. We
also do um all the different stuff for
the specific yam of all three of them.
There's just really
if you ask somebody which yep they want
to go into with a brand new talis it's
going to be rash.
>> Yeah, usually if that's what they're
Yeah. Unless they really need it by pes
which many people do. They want to clean
do polishing of the of silver ataras for
uh when putting it onto a new talis we
do that as well. Um we could switch
ataras, we can upgrade atas, we have all
different types of atkaras.
>> So there's nothing you can't do is what
you're saying.
>> Pretty much anything that any jude store
could do in the in in in the USA, we can
do.
>> Pretty amazing. I'll tell you what's new
for 2026. I mean you mentioned all the
leather items and you talked about some
of the gifts uh that a may want to give
a kala that the kala may want to give
the obviously the gifts that the in-laws
are giving to the that's the list that
we started with I mean is there anything
different about 2026 anything different
about these days or uh you know it's
essentially the uh the oldfashioned
classic list
>> so the list is the same but the types
are getting a little well especially in
Ataras are getting a little more funky a
little more crazy I don't know about in
certain areas for example in Lakewood
you're going to stay more traditional as
most people have their standard silver
auras but in Brooklyn and five towns
you're finding more and more people want
crystal or mother of pearl or even
leather fur uh there's so many different
styles and shapes and sizes and colors
that you could do people are people are
mostly not for usually they start with
their standard and then like a few years
later if they want to upgrade
>> are the embroidered ataras an item or
it's not a big item right now.
>> Not a huge item, but people still want
them, you know, we do that as well. And
yeah,
>> and I guess you'd have like a million
custom designs to choose from, right?
>> Yeah, we have cataloges and cataloges.
This and this custom and there's so many
things to do.
>> Pretty amazing. Uh those of you out
there who are looking for the easiest
way uh to get your future son-in-law
started with everything that he needs to
walk into Shul or as Ellie Hoffadder
just said, doesn't have to be your
son-in-law. It could be you yourself. It
could be somebody in your life that
you'd like to get a special gift for and
other people and they reach a certain
milestone whether it's a specific
birthday or a specific anniversary. Uh
that's another good time to get a brand
new talis or a brand new item of
Judeaica. All of this available by uh
emailing kassen central two s's in
kassen kassen centralgmail.com
or by dialing Ellie Hoffetter and his
salespeople at 516-9162665.
Again, that's 516-9162665.
Now, you'd be the guy to ask. I have to
assume that this is among your busiest
seasons cuz you like to, based on our
experience, it seems you like to
basically be really involved four to six
weeks before the wedding. Does that make
sense?
>> Correct. At least if someone needs it uh
someone wakes up uh two weeks before the
wedding and we could still get it done.
proper bleed appointment should be made
at least four.
>> So knowing knowing how much is happening
after log BR and how many people are
really planning you know May and June
weddings for this year because Log
Bulmer is so early. I have to assume
that now is a very busy time for you. Am
I right?
>> Yes, it's definitely very busy. Um if
you take a look at our calendar, you'd
be like whoa.
>> Yeah. Um it's it's pretty crazy.
>> And it's really for that reason, right?
A million weddings in May, a million
weddings in June.
>> That's right. Yeah. Yeah. If I would
tell you how many weddings we have
coming up, it's it's not not normal.
>> Aliad, we're making a lot of weddings in
the Jewish world, aren't we?
>> Yeah, we're making a lot. It is
unbelievable. I don't even know. I
wonder. And again, internet, social
media, how to reach people is obviously
very different. But I don't even know if
this would have worked 30 years ago. Not
only because people were in the habit of
walking into a store and taking care of
things like that, but just I I don't
know if the volume was there. Do you
know how many more?
>> You're also wearing so many options,
>> right? You don't have to choose much.
You walked in, take something off.
>> You walked in, you wanted black velvet
or navy velvet and gold or silver and
then there were a few designs. That's
it. You know how many father-in-laws
when I'm doing this appointment, they're
like 30 years ago. What I would have to
do was nothing. They have so many.
>> You're making FUN OF ALL OF US AT ONCE.
>> They're like half complaining, half
joking, you know, like
>> and half and half reminiscing.
>> Half reminiscing as well. Yeah,
>> unbelievable. I'll tell you what,
whoever would have dread. But here you
have it, folks. You have it. Literally,
uh, doortodoor in-house service. Ellie
Hoffetter and his staff ready to take
care of everything when it comes to the
world of Judea. And it is really
everything. But obviously, uh, the piece
is the one that we are emphasizing, that
we're highly recommending. That's the
one that I mean, there are a lot of
engagements out there right now. If
you've been looking folks, if you've
been saying, "Hey, when am I going to
get together with my future son-in-law,
go on a Sunday, check out this, check
out that?" No, no, no, no. Just call
Ellie. He'll make sure everybody meets
together at one place, uh, chooses the
entire thing, and then the delivery will
take place before the offroof, and
you'll be all set. That's really what
it's all about. And we had that
experience so we could talk about it
from a firsthand standpoint. Ellie
Hoffadder, Kussen Central. There'll be a
website eventually. Right now, you want
to make sure to email them, kassen
[email protected]. They're two s's in
Hassen. And you can dial him directly at
516-9162665.
Again, that's 516-9162665
and get the service rolling for your
future son-in-law as soon as possible.
And obviously, if this doesn't apply to
you now, keep this phone number on file.
You'll need the service, please God, in
the very near future. Ellie Hopstadder,
anything else you'd like to add, sir?
>> Yes. I would just like to point out that
if someone wants to remember the number,
it's actually even easier cuz 2665 is
the is the letter's book. So, it's
actually 516916 book.
>> So, the the store, the brick andmortar
store used to be called by the book,
right?
>> So, that was our number and it's also to
book an appointment. So, 516916 book.
Um, that's number one. Number two is our
website should be coming shortly, right?
>> Uh, number three is we also have an
Instagram. So, if you want to look us up
at Kas Central, C H O S S O N central,
the same way the email is spelled C H O
SN C H O S S O N centralgmail.com.
And we have the social media. We we're
on and we also have a Google Drive link
of every single pile bag we've ever
done. So, if you want to get inspo of
what to get, what to do, we have a
catalog. But besides that, we have an
actual link of everything we've done.
So, if you WhatsApp us, text us, call
us, we could send you that. We could
send you all the information you need to
get started and then it's very easy.
Just send us a text or WhatsApp when
would you like to make an appointment
and we'll be at your house and it's easy
as pie.
>> What's the most obscure place you've
sent an order to? Because you said you
do these virtual meetings.
>> Australia.
>> You did send to Australia.
>> Yes, I had a call was from Cedarhurst.
The custom was from Australia. We did
the whole thing virtually over over
WhatsApp. Um, we've done more than that.
I'm saying we've done Canada. We've done
LA, Texas, Florida. Uh, I did some place
in I think Oklahoma, Oregon. I forgot
already, but it was like we we were all
over.
>> Pretty amazing.
Because of you, we know that there's so
many weddings out there. And because of
you, we know that a lot of places around
this country have a lot of Jews as well.
So, we're learning it all from you on
the front lines. uh at the business. We
had an amazing experience. Can't thank
you enough. And uh thank you and uh and
we will be in touch because I'm sure
there are a lot of people out there.
They're going to want to take advantage
of your service.
>> Sounds good.
