Chicago Anshei Sholom shul, Douglas Blvd, Lawndale, West Side, 1920s- Rabbi Chaim Dalfin

I'm in front of a Sho that used to be a Sho you can see on top the 10 commands the a Adis all the way on top unfortunately it's become a church today it's a gigantic Building look at this building it was called the Ane Shalom sh it's on this Parkway in Chicago in the laale section this is called the Boulvard this is the boulevard it was very very elegant so we're going to go a little closer here and we'll see the sign which describes everything here and right here Ane Shalom Synagogue building done by new house and Burnham Architects 1924 to 26 originally built for an Orthodox Jewish congregation with deep roots in Chicago's Eastern European Community the classical Revival style religious building is finally designed is finally designed with a temple front entrance promptly situated on Chicago's Park boulevards it exemplifies the significant history first Jewish and African-American of the North laale Community in the 20th century uh Henry etc etc and this was designated as a uh landmark by Emanuel Ram Emanuel Ram Emanuel the mayor on June 25 2014 okay looking at it from this angle looking at the bouevard here let's go [Applause] just get a a picture of this massive building here a massive building okay
