my mother was in the hospital for 11
weeks it puts a tremendous stress on
everyone in the family extended family
every day has new hurdles and new
challenges and we were in Mount Sinai
and when you're in that hospital and you
know you're isolated there and you want
someone to be there all day and you want
to be there there's tremendous stress
that a person goes through all day when
they when they're sitting in the
hospital and it was at that time that
you know when my mother was aditt to the
hospital we were introduced to
24/7 all that they do for the patients
but all that they do for the patients
and their families it's something that
cannot be easily described the types of
you know things that you don't want to
be dealing with they take care of and
that's really the biggest Comfort
spending Shabbat away from your family
is a tremendous stress and something
that you don't necessarily in the
beginning it was very fearful 24/7 takes
all that fear that you have going into
it and by the third Shabbat you feel
Comfort the second Shabbat even you feel
comforted knowing that they're there
there's certain things you don't have to
worry about you don't have to worry
about the food you don't have to worry
about theala you don't have to worry
about the K you don't have to worry
about the kala you don't have to worry
about the rooms where you're sleeping
that have room Apartments to stay in
24/7 took care of all the little things
and really brought tremendous Comfort to
me and to all my family members who who
use the room they help in every single
way there's people from the organization
that come and they check on you I'm in
the ICU sitting upstairs they're sending
social workers and people coming to
visit my mother from 24/7 just to see
how we're doing how she's doing three
meals a day kosher food and and above
and beyond snacks coffee mat ball soup
you know whatever you need they really
go above and beyond to where everything
is taken care of I remember I met a guy
in the room in theed room I started a
conversation with the guy and at the end
of the conversation I just ended it like
I ended all the conversations I was
having I said whoever you're visiting he
go what do you mean my wife had a baby
that's why he's here and and it kind of
brought the the S back to my Shabbat to
know that not everyone's going through
what you're going through and there's
also people there for good reasons and
they're helping those people too it's so
hard in a 1 minute 2 minutes to put it
into perspective what they do because
more than the action it's just the
feeling of how they do it they really do
it with tremendous love the room is just
one small aspect of a larger picture
that they do and in every way that they
could help they do
