is so much more than an organization
it's really a lifeline for the members
those people
that unfortunately struggle and suffer
so much this is their chance to be
themselves
often the words mental illness is
understood and people
conjure up in their minds something
that's scary
but when reality it's just someone who
has a struggle
that can be helped
[Music]
it's hard to believe that it's been over
15 years since i was first diagnosed
with bipolar
having a mental illness is a daily
struggle constant battle
that stays with us but it's just like
any other illness
why should mental illness come with
isolation and stigma
shame going through challenges
with our emotions and with everything
that we've gone through
it's a very scary road to be on but if
we
know that just kane was at our side and
haskino is there for us
the world can be completely different
all in this is our heart illness is hard
it's challenging when people don't feel
healthy it
it changes everything and every illness
needs to be supported
in its own way haskenu
is a great organization because it's an
environment that's accepting
confidential stigma free when mental
illness
is left untreated it's your life on your
journey through treatment
it's just a part of you at cascainu we
celebrate
all other parts of you as well with our
recreational outlets
of music dance comedy art
culinary arts and crafts cheering
the fun and friendships that ensue are
the hallmarks of this casino experience
meeting so many of the women through his
kenu
inspires me every day to see how
women literally support each other have
each other's back encourage each other
to take another step
and to move forward and not to be a
victim
to mental illness but to rise above
prior to my justino involvement
there was this heavy burden and complex
i had about myself that i was inferior
compared to those around me
huskein totally turned that around
through sharing and listening to other
women
share their success stories with mental
health over the phone conferences
class cano has been such a powerful tool
of healing on my mental health journey
connecting with so many others from
similar backgrounds and with similar
experiences
normalized my experience for me i grew
to accept myself
and to connect with hashem on the
journey that he set for me
the incredible gift of josquino is that
we're there for each other
in such a deep personal confidential
sensitive way and that's really to sum
it up
i would say that that is what's so
amazing about josquino thank you
for enabling me to enjoy my life as a
mother and a wife
without the negativities that used to
weigh me down i feel like they have
me as a sister in the family of the kenu
sisterhood it says
hashem comes down and he is with
people that are in pain
to bring in a hope
to those people that are suffering this
is the organization
they bring in such hope and
they have such an impact on those people
and on those families and this has an
effect of
loyalties to come when a person is in
pain whether it's physical pain or
emotional pain
what exacerbates that pain is that
feeling of isolation that feeling that
they're not understood that feeling of
loneliness
an organization like this helps people
to feel less alone
when you give to an organization like
this not only you helping them to help
other people
but you're helping the organization
itself not to feel
like they're alone like they're doing
this by themselves
fewer things can be more rewarding and
fewer things quite frankly are more
important
