Tuesday night program with special guests tonight we have with us Ravi Joshua Silva all the way from Florida Welcome Rabbi how you doing okay I'm great thank you for inviting me oh it's our pleasure really exciting and uh looking forward to talking with you Rabbi about the Tish above came Tisha Bubba went now what the basement dish is not rebuilt so uh before we do the topic grab it if you give us a little background of the great work you're involved with and a little bit about yourself fantastic so first of all thank you hazak as well as Tara anytime I encourage everyone to go to hazak just like I gotta give something so thank you kudos to you uh background about me um I'm the oldest of five I was born in Cleveland Ohio my parents were learning in Kerala on the Taos Cleveland and I grew up in on Tremaine drive for anyone that's familiar with Ohio and my father originally was born in Denver Colorado my mother's from Chicago my parents moved back to Denver and that's where I grew up as a child went to Hill Academy and then after I went to Chelsea Shiva Cleveland followed by that I went to or it's a strong to the risk of cola and then came back to America I went to BMG based on Chicago to this day I still have a very deep connection with all my Urban frontals versus Chicago and Lakewood as well then we went to a few out of town places I spoke with my reputation he felt that going to out of town places would be very good for my character and who I am we went to Dallas Texas then after that we went back to Denver and then after Denver my wife wanted to be closer to her home which is where she grew up which is Miami Beach Florida and that's where I currently am I've actually have the big hook to serve as the rabbi of the only spartic show in Miami Beach excluding the bukharians they call themselves bukharian so that's a good thing you know you know it's called smarty yeah it's bukhari and we have everyone from all types although I am Ashkenazi and my great grandfather was a Roth in Ukraine uh Hashem very adaptable that people literally think I'm spartic it's an amazing blessing to have that we literally have from all walks of life from all backgrounds that come every single day and in addition to that I also teach at lebovich so I'm also going there and giving my talents to teaching there as well and it's a very gift big gift I always say it's such a gift that the amateur has given me and I'm very macro type of that and I've actually had meeting people like you makes it so much worth it so I'm very happy to be grab a Silva bringing everyone together there all strides all backgrounds after Unity it's amazing great so uh to our topic Rabbi in your experience Rabbi what would you uh tell us what steps could we take practical steps to bring the Ula you know the three weeks went by the nine days went by one by what do we do what do you suggest so I this is something that I have to say is a little bit of a pet peeve of mine I personally my leadership role is that when I see something that is a little off I try to fix it that's just who I am one of the things that really really bothers me is when people don't get along and a lot of times it's miscommunication and most of the time has to do with money and if a person really had a sense of that Hashem is in charge of you Hashem wants to give you opportunities he's our father sitting at the table with everyone else he wants everyone to have a piece of the pie and guess what if we run out of pizza he'll go to the store and get another pie it's Hashem we're talking about he doesn't run out of anything and I've seen that in my own personal career I've seen that when I've made space for others Hashem makes unbelievable space for me and you never lose by name Nevada it's an amazing thing the gemara tells us a very fascinating thing the very famous in the fifth chapter and kitten and I the the sofa he quotes saying that he doesn't really understand why gitin was chosen as the me whatever it says oh there's someone in my family they're really talking about themselves or a friend of mine you're like it's a little too intimate to be a friend but anyways so this is a some money in my family that came from a very large family and to make a long story short they got a windfall of money a hundred thousand dollars and the family members were fighting like animals so badly that when my cousin was there together with another cousin they were told by their parents do not talk to your cousin in the Yeshiva of 60 people that is insanity what are you doing why would you do something like that the answer is honestly you don't believe in God and I one time had a very as they would say in England a very cheeky conversation with somebody who's much older than me and I told the person I was involved with them and I told them I said listen before we have a conversation about something I just have to get off my chest something that's really bothering me is it true that I said obviously speaking with honor and deference to the person this is this true that you I didn't say you but I said whatever the title associated with this person that you're involved in some type of controversy it says well yeah you don't understand what that person I said what I'm saying I said do you believe in God for someone's gonna be like like what remember why are you talking to me so weirdly what do you mean do I believe in God of course I believe in Hashem what are you talking about I said so if you believe in God why are you fighting with this person no you don't understand that guy undercut means I said you're talking about Hashem is called Yahoo he could do anything I said I'm an Ashkenazi an asphardic show it's been around for a long time very talented people in Miami beach but okay I'm getting a lot of people coming great fantastic people there is no plausible reason why I am the rabbi of the show I say that all the time makes no sense but of course we're the only show in Miami Beach that has that and it's just growing by Leaps and Bounds and I say it's you know why because when you look to have everyone succeed everyone will succeed you believe in Hashem Hashem makes space for you so that's what I say the first thing is recognize we have a father in Heaven they can always get more pizza it's not just cutting pieces of the pie he's getting you another whole pie and how many people have had that and there life they thought oh my gosh I'm not going to be able to make what and then literally out of left field something happened I've had that in my life I'm sure you've had that in your life everyone's had that so the first one is recognize that Hashem is in charge and have real beta amazing wow powerful Rabbi Silva love it love the energy 100 True spiritual God is in charge let's give it all to whenever there's issues stress problems within the organizations and Community I always talking to those local government you're in charge you to take care of it because God Almighty always takes care of it amazing amazing insights Rabbi and uh let me ask you what are common pitfalls to avoid in order to bring the Gula so you're saying Shalom peas getting together is very important in having Unity Etc what are common pitfalls have you seen in the past right back the message tells us that when the Jewish people went through the yams of they to me what's that open they're not like me they're not supposed to be like you that's exactly the point you have to take the good of one another and see how amazing I always say that it's amazing to me I see because I didn't grow up but I did I see the unbelievable deference that the Spider-Man have towards it is unreal coming in it's like they realize this is you know you're in manalama you see it one person told me he doesn't even cross his legs I didn't even know that was a thing cross your legs we don't want you guys are sitting there slouching with the coffee and who knows all right difference of your fellow just like you overlook yourself Overlook theirs as well amazing amazing and it's true by the way all the different nationalities and backgrounds every single one has their ways that stick out and make themselves unique you know for example in our community over here in Queens there's many behinds and the way they have a Sinha when it comes to happy occasions like a breed Mila or a barometro wedding whatever it is it has an extra on that extra you know the Mitzvah and every single Community has their uniqueness amazing I would like to add by the way I would like to add Rabbi that my grandfather when he ran on foot with his brother from Ukraine and they went East to make sure to avoid the Nazis they went deeper and deeper into Russia my grandfather always said the facet that was shown by the bukharian Jews was unbelievable he said people left their own bedroom and slept on the floor so he could sleep on a mattress because he went literally 2 000 miles away would it be saying the 10th Fila is Hashem you gather the uh the Gathering of the Exiles now why is that number 10 so I believe this is my own interpretation 10 represents the letter yud yud is the smallest one smallest of all they say represents either the smallest one or a little by little if you want to get just still do a little more a little more that's how you get to the next World so the 10th Fila is that of gathering of the Exiles spread out throughout the world we make Hashem and we do what we need to do Hashem will bring us back why the answer I believe is is that if you look for carry us on the ones they all inspired me in some way some more than others but the ones that inspired me more than others that they said something or did something I pointed out to them they look at me like what are you talking about I said that no no somebody else must have said that he said no no you told me I remember I remember they're looking at you like you're crazy and I've had that before people coming over to me tell me oh Rabbi when you said this I'm like I think you're mixing me up with somebody else but I know you said it you were the one that said it a little just a little nikuda the personality is we look for the yehudi we look for the start from the little just a little give a little more we look at him the reason why they're so beloved since people that go because they give a little it's just for them yeah give a little okay here you can take my thing no no that's fine no it's okay it's totally and then you're Blown Away by that so and answer your question personality would be is just give a little and that will bring the ultimate he's going to come down here bringing the house down in Fire and like it says how can you be how can you destroy something with fire and everybody the whole Community decided to come they're all going to run into the wall to bring it down and uh they're pushing and kicking and trying but they weren't much there and they're all sitting there exhausted all of a sudden a young guy comes and just gives it a little bit of a push and all of a sudden it falls down everyone's like whoa what did you do he's like I didn't really do much it was all you guys you guys did all the hard work so many people say with regards to the Gula that oh how is it in common dime of uh you know uh you know never finds all these big tadiq have passed away have that and he told me that's why people they get so hot-headed he says if a neighbor went in front of your lawn or he did something that really bothers you you'll be polite you're not gonna say anything you're like thinking on yourself your mother and your brother who is that person right they annoy you but if it's your brother your brother like what's wrong with you why it's your brother it's your re it's a re it's real the connection is real it's so deep when we hear people that need something we always jump in how many of us have when we've heard a Call the Clarion call of somebody needs help we all jump in somebody told me one of the things that they were saying they were for sure and I want to tell you something it is not even a question to me if coven would have been dealt everything that you do is according to FDA group really everything that you do is not if they I mean it's like you have to appreciate the other side where they're coming from and understand it's not another side and I One Time heard it I'll just conclude with this is a beautiful idea it says there will never be another look at like in his congregation ever if is what are you talking about
