Okay, welcome everyone back to the weekly Monday sharashem. Each week get the great inspiration from the great rabbita the day after the I think tonight is one of the most important shar not only of the year because the beginning of the year but I think really of the entire year person have kazak and mor and we thank or for for hosting. So, so we know that there's a fascinating stat. What is it is that is that they they um Triari said this stat. He said that what's the what what's the percentage of people that keep their New Year's resolution? >> What do you think? 80% >> 2%. What do you think? >> 1%. >> What? Five. Yeah. Close. 7%. That doesn't make sense. Then the the people they made resolutions, not people who just did like Okay. Like how was it? how many pages are left in in the the mocker people actually really meant their commitment whether and and uh how is it possible that they they weren't able to keep that uh that uh that commitment see you know maybe one of the reasons it could be is that Jacobson said he says that why is it that right after you go through 25 days of yiper you fasting you're in you're in you're you're in sh more time than than you're in your house and and what after afterwards what happens you say ar you say marv and what do you say in you sayanu I did this sin. I did that sin. What sins you just did? You just did chuva. You repented for for 25 hours straight. What do you have to say? You have to ask Hashem for forgiveness. What what you have to ask Hashem for forgiveness because the person even though they did chuva, they don't believe in the power of chuva that they can change and they can become better. They say I'm still the same lazy person, angry person, the person who's ungrateful. And and and that is why maybe that you can say 7% because people they they don't think that they have the the capacity to to change and then we know that the person is called Adam. Why is because the the adam the the the dirt is always growing. It's always changing and that's what we have to do and and vendel always gives us the right tools to to to make sure that that we're not going to be part that we're going to be part of the 7% that we're trying to increase the 7% to hopefully 70%em. So, it's a great great honor to have. Okay. Sorry if you guys hear my voice a little bit coarse and if I'm walking a little bit limp, but they have to see. This is how you're supposed to look. You have to see. This is how you're supposed to look. If you don't look this way, we just came out of this holy holy holiday. Now, whoever's been by us, they know is one of the holidays. is we give everything we possibly can. There are four famous words that everybody knows with which means we're not hearing all your strength. That means we have to give everything you possibly can. So we pump it up, pump it up and obviously a little bit the voice, a little bit the legs and that's the way it's supposed to be because you're dancing and you're singing and you're happy with the Torah and we went and we were on a high. What does the word mean? >> Huh? Please partake of the word. How many miracle value? 51. 51. How many days there from until we get 51 days? 51 days. We working. We doing what we can. Says one more day. I don't want you to go home just yet. I want you to stay with me one more day. And we dance and we sing and we're hugging the Torah [snorts] and we're on a high but that's not the only aud. But that's not the that's not what we're supposed to do. The job continues when see one day of the year we give everything we possibly can in those moments but the real job is what are you going to do the rest of the year what are you going to do from today we have to live for the Torah some people in life are able to and I believe every single Jew in the world has inside something called you know what that means the ability to sacrifice his life If Hashem wants, like we've seen in the Holocaust, people who are not religious at all, they would eat khaz, they would eat do whatever he possibly want, but when a Nazi would tell them to do it, they would give up their life. Why? You did it last week for free because now he's telling me to do it. I will give up my life. We have inside of us a to be willing to sacrifice ourselves. But that's not that. That's not what Hashem wants from us. Says, You should live by the Tawa. But we see that we have this immense co inside of us. You guys ever heard of a woman named Alonit Sarah? Oh, yo yo, I got to tell you guys a story. Sarah Sneer was actually the beginning, one of the pioneers of the Bay Jacob movement 91 years ago. in caral Poland. She had a school that later on a good turned it into the style the form for religious Jewish girls and at that time obviously everybody knows the Nazis came and so on and so forth and started taking over. She had lots of students everyone heard that the Nazis already took over in the countries nearby. And a few of them got scared and they went home. But 93 girls, 93 girls weren't able to make it home. Abanis comes to them, of course, with two other were there with her. And he tells the girls, "Listen, I don't know what's going to happen. I don't know what's going to be in the coming days, but there's a plague in the world. And that plague's name is the Nazis. And they could be coming here. And I don't know if they will, but I hope they won't. But be prepared for whatever it's going to be. A few days later, a Nazi general walks in to the school and he right away asks, "Who's the man over here? Who's the principal? Who's running the show?" They direct him to the office of Aban. He walks into the room. He says, "See you have girls over here, 17, 18, 19, 20 year old girls. How many you have with you right now? Don't lie to me. I want a list. She tells him we have 93 girls. He tells her, "Okay, me and my guys are going to be back here tomorrow 8:00. I promise I promise you we won't kill them, but we want to come and have our way with them tomorrow. Tell the girls to get dressed up as beautiful as they can, best dress, perfume, lotions, do their hair to be as beautiful as they possibly can. Tomorrow we'll be here at 8:00. I'm guaranteeing you their lives, but tomorrow I'm coming with 93 soldiers at 8:00. And you understand what I'm saying? You understand what I'm saying? With tears in her eyes, says, "Yes, I understand." The guy leaves and he walks out with his two soldiers with him. Goes quickly arranges some things. That night she comes to the girls. Chanut girls, Hashem gave us a very unique opportunity. The Nazi general just came into my office and he told me tomorrow at 8:00 they want to come over here and defile these beautiful children of Baku, these beautiful daughters of Hashem. So tomorrow we're not going to get dressed up for them. We're going to get dressed for Baku. We're going to put on our most beautiful outfits. We're going to do our hair. We're going to get dressed and we're going to meet over here at 6:00. We're going to say, and we're going to say kachima. And then she pulls out a case. And over here, I have 93 pills of poison. Whoever wants can join. But we will not allow ourselves to be defiled by his people. Me and the other teachers will be taking these pills tomorrow. Whoever wants to can join us. One girl raises her hand, walks up, takes a pill. 93 girls follow. The next day they meet. Few hours before is supposed to come. They say taleim and he tells their girls we're going to say the poke a person has to say in the morning and the night. and make to sanctify. The notes came in a few hours later. They found 93 corpses and the teachers with no life sacrificed their lives documented written down. One of the teachers wrote down what happened over there for she took her life and the Nazis later on confirmed the story. Now, as crazy as this story is, every one of us has the ability inside of us to sacrifice our life. But that's not what Hashem wants from us. Hashem wants us to live by the Torah. Cuz the bigger challenge is not are you willing to go and do the extremes. Take the one day and give all your to the Torah for the rest of the year we don't see you. One day you come, you take a few shots of some whiskey, you sing and you dance and we see you. But on Monday night, you're not by the sh. And on Thursday night, you're not by the and Wednesday and Sunday. Rabbi over. [laughter] It was a little bit now. It's my time. Relax. I'm going on vacation. Rabbi, I'm going to I'm going to Florida this week. [laughter] 24 hours. Huh? Unless happens to be I'm going to Florida on Wednesday for >> because it's October 7th and we're doing a big event over there. I'm going to be flying in on Wednesday afternoon and flying back Thursday morning. But no time for relaxation from to [laughter] people want to relax. They want to enjoy. But doesn't [clears throat] end in the high bursts in those moments you're feeling ah that's not what is it's as difficult as it is to make big sacrifices it's even harder to live them that's why which one was more difficult what did when Hashem tells him take your son that you love and bring him on the altar 37 years old, never got married, never had children, put him on the altar and slaughter him or he wants to marry a guy. Her sister now her father obviously is Lean does all types of tricks, switches her and her sister now. She knows that her and Yakov made a password between them. So she has a decision. Either I give up my husband or I embarrass my sister. So what does she do? I'm going to give up my husband. Which one is more of a bigger challenge? Huh? Taking a son and slaughtering him on the altar. Huh? What about being and Hashem telling you you tell your father but where's the where's the where's the sacrifice like we normally do. And he said, "Oh, don't worry. Hashem is going to show him. Show us who the be." And as soon as he said the word Beni, my son, he understood it's him. What does tell his father? Tie me tight so that way I don't become bas. And then his pushet he takes his neck. So can slaughter him. That's what we say in this the song was crying bit of tears and his heart is happy. Which one is the more difficult challenge? Sacrificing his son sacrificing his son or she met a nice guy. They went on a few dates. Oh, you know ah what can I do? I have to get to my sister. Okay. Back to the which one's a good challenge. >> Which one? That's what it sounds like. Everyone over here agrees that sounds like it's a good challenge. Taking a son, 37 years old, tying him down, taking the knife, altar, building an altar. Which one is more difficult? No, >> it's a one time thing. Ah yeah says them in the introduction we spoke about in that when the destroy comes to Hashem and says Hashem forgive my children I went I sacrificed my son on the altar hem says no it's nice what you did for every generation they're going to be eating that's why what's the knife called all generations eat from that every remember aid all day we talk about it says yeah it's all good and dandy not enough come say I told him to tie me tight so I WON'T BECOME I TOOK OUT MY neck said it's not enough until comes and says you know as well as I know that I had the opportunity to get married to the person that I was waiting for and that night I gave her up How much you got to know what teach? She didn't just give her sister the passage. She laid underneath the bed that night and spoke. So Yakov wouldn't hear's voice and be now why Hashem says, "You know what? For you, I accept your prayer." Why? Why is bigger than Abra? Yes. You want to know why? Abra did a sacrifice that was one moment sacrifice. Give up my life. leaves her sacrifice. She had to wake up every single morning and see her sister married to her husband. Wake up every morning and see her sister have six children. She doesn't have nothing. He has to wake up every single morning. And guess what? You know what was the the one that broke the camel's back? The broke the camel's back. When son brings her, the special berries for pregnancy says, "Can I please have the berries?" And that tells her, "It wasn't enough. You stole my husband. I stole your husband. You man, I stole your husband. If that was you, what would you have said? Huh? >> If that was you, you gave your friend, you gave up the car, all that. You gave us something and he's driving the car. Come down. Do a favor. Take me to the thing. It's not enough. You try to take my car. I try to take your car. The contract was in my hands. I gave it to you. Army scan. Okay. You don't remember the password. You don't remember that I was underneath the bed. You don't remember none of that. It doesn't exist. What does say doesn't say a word? Cuz you're right. I'm sorry. I'll trade with you. Tonight is my night. You can have it. Who in the world would do such a thing for their sister? And then when they come back and spit in their face obviously talking about you have to be careful especially I'm very very yeah just but the difference you that's why I name my daughter but the point of the matter is not for today's conversation what would do [snorts] anything she lives the sacrifice [snorts] 10 times more difficult to live a sacrifice than it is to do it one time so we come out and that's that's a one time sacrifice but that's not a is to live the sacrifice every single day and that's why there was two stories and they keep on talking about the holocaust of al what can we do then there's immense lessons that need to be learned there was a guy who right this very nice guy elderly man who used to come to shul every single day Shahid Musl all the he always there for a few years everyone would see him and they would describe him nice guy but never one time they ever heard him go up to be hazan never one time never one time would he be hazan so everyone said okay this guy probably doesn't know how to be haz few years you know in this guy he doesn't have it what can you do one year after a few years the guy comes up to him maf That's come on. The guy for the first time ever agrees. Goes up to the everyone's sitting over there. They're wondering this guy's going to go over there. He's going to butcher it. He opens his mouth. They hear the most beautiful voice they ever heard in their life. Singing songs up down everything you could position. And guys are sitting over there. Yo, where have you been? All these years you've been sitting over here with this voice. Angelic, angelic voice. Why you never went up? He tells them, I grew up in when I was a kid, religious. I had a beautiful voice. So everywhere I would go, I would sing. People would stop me, let me come and this and that. And I became one of the famous people in my town. As I get older, my voice was very requested. So I started going out to theaters and concert halls and slowly but surely I started to become less and less religious and I started doing big events with go and I became famous in Germany. I became one of the famous German singers. But when the Nazis came, they didn't care that I was famous. They put me in the camps like every other Jew. But some of the soldiers recognized me and instead of sending me to the gas chambers, they gave me a punishment that was even more difficult. What was that? They made me sit down and sing beautiful songs to them every day as my brothers and sisters were sent to the gas chambers. A punishment worse to death. For years, I had to sit down and sing beautiful songs and if I didn't, persecution. I knew the price. I left over there. I said, I'm never going to use his voice again. Talk to Baku. Her voice that was used for such impurity. I could take the same voice and give it to a present on the altar. I can come bean. So why' you go up today? Cuz I'll tell you a story. One time I saw they were bringing people to the gas chambers and one of them was the of Galanta, one of the big and he sat over there and as was everyone was being taken to the gas chambers. His group was next and looked at them. He says, "I have an ability today to be sanctified like we're going up to me." And one girl started crying and I told her, "Why you crying?" She says, "Rabbi, I just got married this week. I didn't even pass one Shabbat. All my life I dreamt to light the candles as a as a bride, light the Shabbat candles. I never got a chance." The rabbi told her, "If that's what you want to be saved for, you're not going to die here. You're going to live and you're going to light the Shabbat candles." Few minutes later, God walks by. He sees this girl. What are you doing over here? Takes her out of the line and she ended up leaving this Kazan. So actually I saw her and I followed her. Her story inspired me that she wanted to leave to light Shabbat candles. She lives over here nearby and I followed her and she became married and she had kids and she lived. I told myself I only would go up to be Kazan one more time in my life and that would be on her yard site which was today she passed away one year ago. In honor of her making me religious again from seeing her sacrifice I said I would use my voice again one more time for in her honor. [clears throat] What is the purpose of our lives? Why do we live? What are we here for? We have ups and we have downs. We have moments. But what guides you every single day? What is your guiding light? What is the light that guides you? The explains [clears throat] Hashem created. Hashem created every single one of us with a guiding light. The light is called Torah and it's embedded in every single one of us. But if we wake ourselves up every morning and ask ourel how do I get there? What do I do today to make happy? What can I do to be closer to Hashem? How can I leave Hashem? And that's why we learn about two brothers Kane and Abel as they call them in English. Yeah. Both of them were born tells us K actually was born before Adam repented and that's why he had a little bit of a side of him that was more to the corrupt way. He decided to work the land and he became so in love with working the land. It's all he ever cared about. He was married to one sister and his brother was married with two. He would fight cuz I was the firstborn. He wanted the second sister. How come I only get one? He gets two. On the 14th of Nissan, the father tells them in the future, the Jewish nation are going to bring a sacrifice to Hashem on this day. Pes, you should bring a sacrifice. So Ken goes and what does he take? Flax seed. A flax seed. The thing that everyone has in the drawer in the bag that nobody uses flax seed. He decides, I'm going to go give a flax seed the worst of the crop. Why? Because midash brings an example like a person who was a sharecropper. He was leasing a land from the landlord and when he went to bring him the produce, he brought him the unry the garbage. Why? He wanted to show the landlord what you gave me is not good. Lower my price. You charging me a lot for a crap for not a good land. [laughter] That's kind that's how kind is thinking like doesn't know what fruits he has over there. He knows gives him the toilet ever. He brings Hashem the choiciest of lambs. One that never was she never had a burden [snorts] on it. He gives him the best of the best. You can imagine what comes down from what comes down for Hashem brings a fire takes his altar. Whose does he take? Only ever was very upset. Hello. What's going on over here? How come Hashem didn't take my Kurban? And what did you think? You give Hashem the you think he's going to take your starts arguing with K. We go back and forth. He sells him the land. Takes the but long story short, he finds a way to kill his brother. And obviously there's different opinions how he knew how to kill. One's opinion in the mid is that he saw his father slaughtering an animal that's why he knew to go for the neck and some say he was just throwing stones at him and then eventually ended up killing him. But long story short this is the story of course punishes him so on and so forth. Bak says these are two type of people in the world. One who's like kind and one who's like heaven. A person who's like kind, he's in love with material, money, cars, houses, all the things in the entire world, that's what he cares about. So when it comes to giving for Hashem, he gives Hashem so the leftovers all week. He has how many years are we here in the world? How many years we live? How many years we live? If we're lucky 120, let's do a quick [clears throat] calculation. How many hours a day does a person work? How many hours he sleep? How much does he hours does he eat? And how many hours does he use the bathroom? Some people today use the bathroom more than they work. sit over there. He's on the telephone. Another video. Another video. [laughter] How much time? What does he dom? What does he give? Huh? Whenever I get a chance the flax seed, the bottle in the back that nobody knows. And somebody like, you gave me life. I'm going to give you the best part of my life when I'm young, when I'm strong, when I have all my I'm going to give everything to you. Some people wait until they're older to come religious. They young and then I'm 70 years old, you know, not as strong as they used to be. A person needs to serve when is the choicest of times. That's and Hashem will always accept his but we have to give from ourselves the most we possibly can. There was a story in you guys because no one here is Syrian except for you. Okay. The only in the househab is a place in Syria. Huh? Oh, didn't want to offend you. Is a place in Syria. You guys know in Syria there's a few different town cities. One of the cities is called okay there was a rabbi over there. His name was Levaton. That was his name. He was a big He was also Kubal. Every Sukkot first night he would have a visitor. Who would be his visitor? Abu not like all of us. No one sees him. He actually had a physical come to his thing. He would see an older man come. He knew and he would sit down all night and he would enjoy and so on and so forth. That's we obviously don't see it but every night we have a visitor who comes to visit him on the first night. Every single night, one year he sees he's waiting doesn't come. 1 hour, 2 hours, 3 hours. Hello, where are you? 3 and 1/2 hours. All of a sudden, walks in. Where are you? I'm waiting for you. 3 and a half hours. He was I had a stop along the way. So, I've been coming here for years. You never had a stop along the way. So, I had to go see Rafiak. Who's raalak? Rafiak is a barber. You know what they say is Rafi fadesh. He was a barber at the time. He was the number one barber in all of in all of the Syrian city over there. He was number one barber. He was jam-packed busy. And he said his wife would tell every year build a says no only rabbis build. Only it's not for people like me. I'm only good at giving faith. Okay. He doesn't want to build a suka. Said there no problem. He decides I'm not building a suka. Great. Every year, one year, the day before, the day before the other day, that day, that morning, a guy comes to him, you know, Rafi is making a lot of money this day. He come says, "Look, can you do me a favor? You could give me some charity, please, for thee." He ends up giving him five duram or whatever the money is in the time in Syria. He gives him five of that currency, which is enough money for him to buy meat and whatever he needed for the holiday. And the guy was so happy and he was so dancing and singing. Oh, you gave me everything I needed for the holiday. I'm so thankful. I'm so thankful. He hears this guy saying, "I'm so thankful. I'm so thankful." What happens when the person is thankful? You want to give them more? He takes another five do another five currency. And he hand him say, "No, no, no. I'm sorry. I don't want What do you mean you don't want give you more money? You don't want more money? What happened? Why don't you want more money?" He says, "You Hashem gives me everything I need every day when I need it. Five is what I need for today. I'm not worried about the next day." The guy says to himself, "I'm crazy, Dad. I'm working over here. I have enough money in my bank. I have enough money stored under the blat in the files in my house for me and my children, my children's children for years to come. Are you telling me I'm working like a dog and this guy's happy with five shekel five dam that he's going to do what with? He's happy with that. Are you kidding me? Something woke up inside of him. Says that's it. I'm closing up the shop. He says everybody, I'm sorry. Whoever got a haircut got a haircut. Whoever did it over here. [laughter] So we have another guy. I'm going home. Comes home. He tells his wife, "Honey, how you've been asking me for a year to do what?" To build a suka. This year I'm going to build a suka. But those days, it wasn't like today. You build a suka. You get the two metal panels. You get a few hammers. You get a thing. You put the wire around or you do the modular panels. Tuck t. No. He literally had to climb up trees. He's sitting over there with a chainsaw and he's cutting it and he's cutting it down. cutting it down. And as he's cutting it down, a tree branch falls on him, makes him bleed from his nose, from his arm and his leg. Big gush his wife, everything's bleeding. Said, "Honey, I [laughter] came to I came to bring and this is what does to me." His wife tells him, she's a smart lady. She listen to your wife, huh? Smart lady. He says to him the blood that's coming from your nose. Have in mind that you're being you're bringing on the sacrifice on the altar. You're bringing the altar the blood. You're being on the arm on the leg everyone different sacrifice. The guy hears this says you know what says from the time the world was created. Okay, I'm going to say the word again. From the time the world was created, no one was mak brought a sacrifice to Hashem. They gave as much they gave us happiness to Hashem like this. Nobody from the whole entire world from all the we had songs and all the and all sacrifice all generation. Nobody gave like Rafi fades bleeding from his nose, his ends and his leg being that sacrifice. You understand? We sacrifice for ourselves. Doesn't have to be doesn't have to be bleeding but we sacrifice we give and just that alone has the ability the ability has the ability to redeem us. You know says says you know come the gates are open is here seven times leaves and the gates close the gates of tear never close they didn't close you cry to you when you're happy it breaks down the whole entire there's no sh anymore now they have to open it it doesn't exist what Listen to this unbelievable story. Every time I say this story, I get goosebumps. Awitz. Hungarian Jews were one of the last people that were sent to Awitz. You have 50 boys that were sent over the Awitz. Now, all young guys, 18 years old, 50 of them. They get the Awitz, they see them. At this point, you can already imagine the word already got out what these showers are. Nazi general comes to him and tells him, "Boys, you guys smell. It's time to go shower." And he takes them to this room and they're sitting over there and the guy leaves them there and he loses locks door behind them. One of the 50 boys looks at other boys 18 years old, tells them boys, "We all know that we didn't come here to shower. We all know what's going to come out of the shower heads. He says, "But today we don't have clothes. We don't have nothing. We don't even have a set for but for sure is here with us. So let's dance with Hashem." And I'm going to preface. I don't know what song they sang, but I'm going to assume there was something strong, but I'm going to make up my own song that I think. One guy comes and he leads. Other guys follow 50 voices come up. There all 50 boys jumping voices and dancing the gas chamber has never seen and never will see jumping. 50 guys in the gas chamber. 18-y old boys. The Nazi was on other side getting ready to put the gas. He hears shaking. The room is moving. People are screaming, dancing. He never seen this in his life. He goes and he walks in over there, opens the door, he sees them dancing. He goes, "Are you guys crazy?" I tell him, "We're not crazy. We're dancing close. You It's like we're crazy on the guy." He gets upset, says, "Oh, that's how you talk to me." No problem. You know what? I was going to give you easy death, but now I'm going to say something to you even worse. Takes him out of the guy's chamber, puts them into tomorrow, I'm going to deal with you. Next morning, a general from a different camp comes over. He sees 18 able-bodied boys who can help him around this camp. What are they doing over here? Said, "No, these 50 guys, they're mine. You cannot have them." He goes, "I outrank you. I'm taking them." And every single one of them lived. Every single one of them lived. 50 boys from happiness. In the worst moments, happiness. That's how we every day of our life. We have an opportunity to bring every single day. How do you do it? It's not about those big moments. It's about living leaving living sacrifice. Waking up every single day and saying what can I do today for Hashem and not being like K running all day after money and material and leaving Hashem solid. Hashem take the 10 minutes in the night time the five minutes. Give take the choices to lambs. Take the best you have to offer and give that to when the best time a person tell night time daytime and many bring down but we have to say in the morning why because when you the most power in the morning give the best in that moment. How many of us want to pray for the men? We do three times a day. For the women, one time a day, right? I'm going to do and then passes. I'm going to do and then it's night time. You want to go to sleep, want to go home, but you know, you have to check off this box. Huh? You know, you have to pray. You have no choice. You have to do it one time of the day. So, nighttime. [laughter] Huh? You sit over there by the kitchen counter on the on the aisle with a piece of chicken that you just ate over [laughter] in the morning. First things first, I'm not leaving the house until I put and I pray and I do something for this is the time I have the most amount of this is the time I have the most amount of strength. This is when I'm giving to I'm not going to wait until the end of the day when I'm tired already. What's left over? Hashem doesn't want leftovers. wants. So comes and tells us you want to know how to start your life. Don't be like be like and that's why what do you read? Why the teach the world was created but for a purpose? What was the world created for every day? Why every day one two the six day. that Hashem created the world on condition for the sixth the day we got the Torah the whole world was created for us which is the day we were created and the Torah and says and Hashem are one Hashem created us that he live our life with the Torah and therefore he juxaposes the story of K and he to teach you says don't be like kind be like so now we're taking this the sacrifice we had was the dancing and the singing how do we bring it over to the right part of the year cuz the real sacrifice is not that one time of it's every single day and that's exactly why Hashem answers and doesn't answer and when it comes to accepting the Jewish nation back after you know why because one time sacrificed even though he did many more but a great one It's one time every single day for our whole life. Hashem says that I'm always gonna hear I'm always gonna listen. And then you want to know answers. Well, it's not just one day every day. Sacrifice not one day. Live for that's the real sacrifice. and the small things the from the from the that's what says that gives me the most how much are you willing to give for me and we take these lessons implement into our life coming into the beginning of the next year after our messages were sent out we still have but now we're starting the year we still have the ability to show that we were serious that Everything we said we were going to do, we're actually going to do. And Hashem said, "I don't care if you fall, if you stumble, it's okay. I love you." There was a story in Israel. There was a time in where they didn't have a lot of food. There was a rabbi Shiva. He had a student. He had many students, but he had one student in the class. Every Friday, his wife would bake cookies for Shabbat. And as a treat for the kids who learned well, he would come and bring them a cookie. You can imagine a time of hunger, not a lot of food. A kid 18, 17, whatever, how old, young kid gets a cookie. Can imagine for him is one kid decides, I'm going to save this cookie for my father. I don't want to eat it. I'm going to save it for my dad. I know my dad loves these cookies also. I'm going to save it for him. Now, the end of the day comes all the other boys, my name is the cookie. And they go home. This boy sitting over there with his cookie. He's walking home tells him no to the opening of your heart. And he says, "Just smell it. Just smell. You take a bite. Just smell." He goes, "Ah, it's a cookie." Ah, he smells good. Can't control himself. Comes from the smell. And then he goes, "Ah, he wants to take a bite." And he pulls the cookie away. And now the cookie has two teeth mark [laughter] [clears throat] coming down the middle. the whole way. He's walking home. He's telling himself, "Oh yo, yo, should I give my father the cookie? Should I not give him the cookie? What should I do?" On the one end, I told him I save it for him. On the other end, he doesn't know, but has his bite marks in. He's thinking, "Oh, yo, what are we going to do?" >> Yeah, it's a busha. It's a bush. I'm going to give him a Tibetan cookie. He gets over himself. He comes home. He's busha. He takes the cookie. He goes, "Aba, I have over here. I saved you a cookie." expecting his father to say, "What is this cookie with his two teeth mark in your bush? You don't have any embarrassment. You're giving me a cookie like this." So, what his father say? His father sees the two bite marks. He looks at him with a puzzling face. Mama, look, they gave me a cookie and I wanted to give it to you, but I took a bite and I'm so embarrassed. I'm sorry. His father starts crying. Yeah, but why you crying? Cuz now I understand how much you had to sacrifice to bring me this cookie. How hard it was for you. We come, we took upon ourselves things, sometimes we're going to fall, but doesn't mean because we fail that Hashem doesn't want our cookie. When we get up and we take the cookie even with imperfections, we say, "Hashem, here I'm giving you the cookie." Hashem says, "This is you. This is how much you sacrificed for me. This how much you wanted. You had so close to and he still gave it to me." Wow. some cries. We have to leave to leave Hashem every day. And Hashem wants our imperfections. It's okay. We're not perfect every day. I didn't get the chance to say it over here, but I'll tell you guys, in case you guys didn't hear this from the last time that I put out, I was leading a congregation about 100 something people over there. They bit off na not to one person. Anyone who wants gives a certain amount of money. There are 22 people who contributed. Who's going to open up the the behind the ark. So they told me rabbi you open. I open it. My head is inside. 100 guys cranked up behind me while praying. I just want you to know writes that the rabbi's job is to wake up the hearts of so right before I pray to give me the right words come to my mouth to wake up the to wake them up and they were going to come to the right way listen to me and answer me we had 100 people over there screaming cry crying like it was not not normal what was going on over there one came to me after told me I thought there was earthquake people were not I had to pull them away from the they didn't want to leave. They did not want to leave and I'm sitting over there with my head in the I said in this innocent I have nowhere else to go. I have no room down. I'm sitting over there everything is closing now seven times the seven the [clears throat] seven different upper realms as Hashem leaves walking him out and my head is over there and everyone in the room is could be asking for whatever they want and I'm sitting over there my head is I have 100 people behind me and I said one thing I said Hashem I'm not Shalim I'm not complete I'm not perfect who can say they're perfect but Aba I try and I said one thing the only question I have the only thing I hope for is I hope you're proud of me that's all I said I hope you're proud of That's how I live my life. You wake up in the morning, what can I do today to make my father proud? You go to sleep at night, what can I do now to make what I do today to make him proud? If you live your life with this message of what can I do every single day to make Hashem happy? You know how happy Hashem is with you. [snorts] You know how happy Hashem is with you. One of the one of the persons have One of the covenant when you say Hashem you picked out of all the nations is to wake up love in your heart cuz look how much Hashem loves you that he picked you out of everybody and he wants you to see how much do you love me and if we love and we come with our cookies even though they're not complete but we try and we sacrifice Hashem says this is exactly the cookie that I wanted. So let's live our life with that message. Let's go into this year carrying this message and live every single all of us. Good year. Amen.
