Okay, good evening. Welcome everyone to
tonight's very special shar being
presented by of course the kila kila
ordashm
[Music]
organized many programs um not in this
building but a few hundred feet away
right across the street and
it's a beautiful kila and the the kil
continue to grow
in not not only physically in in maybe
height but also in the amount of people
and toraim
um and from
and of course the the the sh is nish
Abraham Bena
aliyah. Amen.
And as well as
should have a complete
amin. And of course we have this very
very special um uh Ra which we're gonna
hear from momentarily. Ra go
who I think spoke here around
approximately one year ago and who gave
such amazing inspiration and really left
such an impact that Hashem the Rav is
back again. We appreciate it. And um I
think to introduce the RV and and and
and and the topic tonight we're talking
about um a a new year, a new you. Um so
something interesting that that I heard
about from from this week's para it
talks about and we're going to be
reading it tomorrow in the morning is it
says that the person is we're standing
here today. It says
that it says the heads as well as the
the the head the theatim the the leaders
like of of the the tribes. It says the
heads and it says the tribes. So there's
a famous question that Rab Moshe
Finstein he says that you would think it
should say the heads of the tribes. Why
does it say two different terminologies?
Why does it say the heads and the
tribes? So he said that that often a
person thinks okay fine in order to make
an an impact in order to to be a leader
then you have to have a certain title
maybe you have to be a rabbi you have to
have a certain title in the in the in
the community in the shul in an
organization but what what what is it
saying that the the week's para is
talking about is that in in order to be
a leader
you just have to be part of the Jewish
people every single person can make a
difference in um in in the in their own
life, in their famil family's lives, and
in the in the world at large. And I
heard something interesting did said he
said that that if you have you ever
heard of some of of a person's name
community, you see always see when
someone says, "Okay, fine. This is it is
an issue in the in the community." So
what happens? People say, "Oh, the
community will take care of it." Who's
the community? Each one of us in the
each each person is considered um a
person who can do something for for for
the community. And for hashem that we're
we're here taking um talking about um
preparing for the new year and I think
each one of us whe whether we have a
position in the sh in the community or
whatever or not everyone should go over
to the to the heads of the of the shu to
the rabbi of and say I want to get more
involved in in in the sh and projects
and of course there'll be a big big mar
for you and your family and and um a
rabbi who who is doing so much for the
community in New York, all over the
America, all over the world is um Harav
Davagas. Everyone please rise. Vote
Haravas.
>> Thank you.
>> Thank you. Thank you.
Shalom. Shalom.
Thank you.
to be here this evening.
It's a very exciting idea. First the
in the days that we have that can change
the entire life for all of us for better
bra for better for great success for all
good health and bisuro tovote and a lot
of lot of great things is right now uh
on this day I want to first of all thank
Kazak an organization that is very very
close to my heart they are so special.
I've seen what they've done all over.
They do not stop to spread the shamayim,
the glory of hashem in particular
rabbis.
I was afraid if he was going to give adv
more I was going to get a little nervous
is he's good har and he should continue
to spread the Torah all over organizing
and also teaching as well
tonight
abid
her
his should have anime
should be Megan for the entire family.
Me for all good things this year
>> higher and higher also
for Dvor
Bakalma.
She should quickly come back have all of
her and live the
>> and for
should be big
this year in every area of life
should help you long healthy good years.
Uh we're starting now in uh interesting
we have the uh ot or the letters of lul
el alf lamemed v lamemed. So it's a
beautiful uh little acronym
and that is as everybody knows arishag
ar a lion that roars who does not get
nervous. You hear a lion you don't
expect it. You're you know out on this
street over here. You're leaving this
evening at the end of the couple hours
here right? You're leaving that roar.
You hear a lion that roars. You can't
believe it. A lion escape from
someplace. Milo, who wouldn't get
nervous? Everybody would get nervous.
Everyone would be upset. No matter when
something happens that's an extra loud
noise, you get nervous. You want to know
what's the source of noise. But the puk
says when a lion roars, we all get
nervous. So how come we didn't get
nervous? I didn't get nervous. I mean
it's a time of great uh what shall I
tell you? Great things are happening up
in Shamayim. We change our whole lives
change every day. Every day we say to
Hashem that we are sorry that we want to
become better and that is each day our
main goal. The reason is is because the
more that we prepare right now for the
el for the yhadin for the days of
judgment the more I come in on shan I
say this is what I want
give me this au
good health a
in school
my family should be together auo I say
it all it's all based on the el right
Now this beautiful shul with his great
rav planned to have a evening on touva.
This is exactly the avoda what we are
supposed to do right now. Everybody is
involved in some way with chuva each and
every day. In the perote it says
merit that the heavenly voice comes out
and cries and says everybody think about
the Torah. Think about the obligation
that we have to learn to do mitzvot to
be good to our fellow man to be kind to
be nice. Every day the bat call there is
a voice that comes out in the world and
it speaks to each one of us. Now a
person could say today I didn't hear the
voice maybe I didn't hear it yesterday
either that voice that came from shime
eli but what do we know? We do know
1,000% that shama inside of us begins to
hear it.
A man calls me from Manhattan. He's got
a huge company. Huge company. He says,
"Rebi, I know about you and I have
somebody. There's a young woman here
from Israel. She's one of my employees
and she came to me with a problem that I
don't know anything about. Could you
help me?" I said, "I'll try." And he
began to explain to me what the problem
was. She came completely secular
background. Nothing. Nothing at all. Not
Kipur, not Rash, not Pesak, nothing. Not
nothing. Her family,
they should all come close to to Hashem
and to toua. But that's what she was
brought up. She came,
he realized that she's from Israel. She
must be Jewish, but not beyond that. He
gave to her a job. She comes in and she
says, "I have a problem. My problem is I
began to toss and turn at night. I have
I have dreams that are bothering me. And
he began to say, I don't know about
dreams. Dreams are a different subject.
They are very important. However, I want
to send you to a rabbi who will help.
Okay. They make an appointment. She
comes to Brooklyn. She comes into the
study. She sits there. She said, "I
never ever in my life thought about
anything to do with Judaism. Nothing.
It wasn't a thing. Nothing."
But I start to have dreams and the
dreams are bothering me. I wake up
bothered, shaking.
What are the dreams?
What is a person?
What is our job here? What are we here
for? What should we be doing? And just
bothering her. She never thought about
in her life. What's her job? Her job is
to get money, to have vacations, to do
all the things, everything, to go get
the the what do you call it? The nails
done. But tough kid, purpose, what we're
supposed to do. She never thought about
it. As the time goes on, she's having
the dreams. She's afraid to go to sleep
because the dream keeps coming back.
So she asked, "What do I do? What is the
explanation? How do I get help on it?" I
told her, "Your nisha is waking up. Your
shama finally has started to become
inspired by something. Maybe the people
that you work with, they're religious.
Maybe it's waking something up inside.
But you are now going to be on fire.
You're going to want to know more and
more about it. You must go. You must go
to seminary. You must go to a school.
Take classes. Take sharim. You got to
start to learn. She saidim
me.
I don't I I eat. She told me like this.
I eat kazair. I said I don't believe
you. I don't believe. She said no rebi.
I'm telling you, I wouldn't lie to you.
I might eat, but I wouldn't lie to the
rabbi. I You're a good girl.
You got to go to learn. That's the only
way. The Torah is our connection. A
person could do a lot of mitzvot, but
the Torah is what keeps us strong. The
Torah keeps us connected. Tonight, we're
learning Torah. We got a lot to
accomplish. That is our whole
connection. all the mitzvah great but
the Torah is the basis of our whole
life.
[Music]
So I told her to go she went to school
believe it or not a grown woman young
woman starts going to seminary starts
learning all the she progresses very
quickly. Hashem gave her a good head.
Anyhow, she became little by little
religious. The funniest thing, I
shouldn't tell you this, but I got to
tell you, she was very popular, very
popular young woman before she became
religious. They liked her. Let me just
leave it like that. One day there's a
car service, a lot car service. They
have a lot of Israeli drivers. So, a guy
comes, he knocks on the door.
I said, "Ken," he said, "Uh, can I ask
you where is there a coal?" The guy
comes, no yamoka, no kipah. He's there
amazing like did not look at all
religious and he begins to ask me. He
begins to ask me, "Where is there a
coal?" So I said, "Well, Rabbi Lankree
has a coal on the next street over on
East 8. You can go over there off of
King's Highway." And he says, "Thank
you. Thank you, Reb." I said, "Can I see
a question? You want to go to the coal?
You want to learn?" He says, "Yes." I
said, "That's wonderful." He said,
"Verrett said she will only go out with
somebody who learns in the co." This
young woman now will only go out with
somebody who's learning. So, he wants to
go to learnishma.
You can go for whatever reason you want
is the end will be that you'll go for
the right reason. That is a person that
was stirred up during this time. What is
it during the Mayel that an individual
should be inspired should wake up. So
not everybody is nervous. The lion is
roaring but not everybody hears it. Why?
Why isn't a person afraid? Because there
is a difference. If you go to the zoo, I
don't know if is there a zoo in Queens?
>> There is a zoo.
>> What do they call it?
>> Where zoo?
>> Queens zoo. Good. Okay.
>> Bron zoo.
>> The brunt. Don't worry. In the Brooklyn,
we got enough zoos. We got You don't got
to worry. I don't got to come over here.
Okay. Anyhow,
so uh when you're going in the zoo, you
can be very strong. You're going to be a
strong man, a strong woman. There could
be a lion in the cage. There could be a
bear. And you can go right up to the
cage and you can even make a face at the
animal or you could make like you're
going to throw something at him. You're
not afraid at all. What is the reason?
There is a wall. There's a gate. They
got the bars. The lion can't come out. I
could do it. I could tell the lie
anything I want. I ain't afraid.
That is the reason that a person does
not feel the
why they don't feel the fear
because during the year I allowed that
there should be some distance between
myself and bore between Hashem. There is
a little bit of a distance I made the
wall and because of that I'm not afraid.
Should I be more careful in this or
that? Should I be more honest? Yes.
Should I be nicer to my friend even
though they weren't so nice to me? Yes.
But I built that and I don't feel it
because I'm not afraid of the lion. The
lion's behind the wall. What happens?
El the makita comes down. The wall that
I built up comes down. I begin to think.
I begin to get a little bit nervous. I
begin to shake. I begin to remember.
What's my purpose here in this world?
What am I supposed to be doing? What
kind of mitzvot do I need to do in
particular? What am I supposed to do to
help out the community? What is my
tapid? Not just myself that I go in my
family and I take care of the house and
I do all the things I need to do. What
is beyond that? Why did Hashem put me
into this world? That is alul is when
all the walls come down and we begin to
see which direction we should take to be
to be strong. I got to be a little
stronger in the Do we realize what the
is? Fascinating. Fascinating.
Senu told Abra what's she want? Anybody?
What's she waiting for?
>> Good baby. Excellent. So she got angry
at Abraham Au. Take out the kumsh. You
go home late tonight. You want to do
something before you go to sleep? Open
up the kumash. And what did Sarenu say
to Abrau?
Abrainu, you're not nice to me. She
accused Abrau. Abrainu, you were not
good to me. You were harsh to me. Why?
Because you did not pray that I should
have
>> baby zel.
You didn't pray. The great mash of
Lakewood phenomenal
asked a question.
Why Abraino has to pray for Sarah Emanu?
Rashia Kadosh tells us Sarah Emanu did
not have the capabilities to have a
child. She didn't have
was impossible. She couldn't do it.
Could I pray that somebody shalom that
doesn't have a voice? Can I pray that
they should be a great Kazan? Could I
pray that they could be a great singer?
No, they don't could do other things but
not that. So why did Simeu
get angry at Abraham Au that he did not
pray for her that she should have a
baby?
That's all she wanted. That's all she
wanted.
Very fascinating. We would think that he
would have the right, but we learn in
this safer that there is no right. We
learn that exactly the opposite. There
is nothing that is impossible in this
world. No matter what they tell you is
impossible, that is not impossible. No
matter what the no matter what a
scientist, no matter what any secularist
would say to a person, impossible. It
will happen. It is possible. It was
possible for Sahu to have a baby. It did
not matter. It was entirely possible. So
therefore Sah was angry was upset with
Abrainu you didn't mimit pel for me you
didn't pray for me every single thing it
is possible even that which we think is
impossible that is also possible I want
you to know in the area of braot a lot
of times a person gives up they think
it's not going to happen I know already
it won't happen and In fact, the family
I was brought up with are a little bit
negative and so it's not going to
happen. So sorry. Do you know that a
person should never ever say the word
never? It could happen. A person who
prays with their Shabbah can change
things in this world.
The prayer that each and every one of us
has is earthshaking. Every prayer that
you say, the smallest little prayer, you
get up in the morning, you say the
little
even that has a tremendous ability to
change this world. We don't realize it.
We think what do we do? Do you know that
Hashem created us only that we should be
able to come here and pray? That we can
say amen to each other's that we can
say.
We can say
hashem created us only to do that and we
think what am I I'm gold vaser what's my
whoever
babacov what what's my prayer what's the
going to do what what I little do we
know that our
prayer is so huge it's unbelievable
there was a family it's we got to make
shidim we got to make shidim it's Number
one, I want you to know anyone can make
a I made a few and I can tell you I
didn't know what I was doing.
I'm telling you, I even messed up on
one, but at the end it went okay.
Anybody could do it. I tell you about it
later if we have time. But it's it's
unbelievable to make shidim. It's
unreal. There was a family that was
waiting waiting and waiting for their
daughter to become a kala. Ooh,
unbelievable. After years, she became a
kala. Beautiful. Everybody singing and
dancing, the whole community, everybody
knew about it. It was unbelievable.
You know, uh, it says in the le
when you're making a sim, there's always
a little something that's going to come
in somewhere along the road. It was the
night of the engagement party, theim the
vort. The parents of the kala were
preparing. They're getting the dress and
dressed and everything, getting
everything ready.
They get a call.
Something went on.
The engagement is canled. It's off. Can
you imagine? They're opening the door to
go to the engagement.
Finished. It's off
the bear. They tried to talk. Why? What?
How? What? It's finished.
Parents began to cry.
They cried a long time.
Can we understand the s of another Jew?
>> Difficult. Sorry.
>> Scout's honor.
>> True.
is something that imagine a person on
the height of their life at the time of
their great sim and such a thing
happens.
Okay. They cried.
The gates of tears are never never
closed. When a person cries and they
have a good cry, they think it's
nothing. But that tear was created
that a person will be able to be po that
we can work that we can achieve with a
dim one tier. We don't even realize what
that can power in the world. There are
no tears that go to waste. None. Every
tier, Hashem collects, put in a special
treasure and uses that tear when it is
necessary. And in fact, there are tears
that are used even
that a person cries. It says in the
future
that Hashem will wipe out all the tears
from all the faces. But the malim says
only the tears of sadness, the tears of
joy will continue to flow from a
person's eyes. Tears are very important.
Don't ever think that it's over. Never
ever think that it's over. Cry. You
cannot know what will come of your
tears. I could tell you a personal
story, but later they cried. The parents
cried. We're standing at the height of
our life. We have our daughter. She's
finally a kala and now it's gone.
What a shame. What an embarrassment in
the community.
All of a sudden after they cried a good
amount of time and in fact they realized
that now is already the time that the
engagement would have gone on.
The husband had an idea.
He says to his wife, Miriam,
this is not the road.
Everything that goes on in this world is
from Shay. I may think that I did the
wrong thing and it could be the right
thing. I may think that I was supposed
to go. I missed the bus. I missed the
investment. I didn't go to the meeting.
Somebody double crossed me. Oh.
The heavens are destroyed. Shalom.
Didn't happen.
Every single thing that we do is from
Shay. We say in the morning.
Hashem establishes our every step. Every
step that we do. And I'll tell you in a
moment something that incredible.
So what happens? So the guy says, "We're
not going the right way to his wife.
Instead of crying and being so upset
over what happened, let's take it the
other way. Let's start to thank Hashem
for all the good things that we have."
To thank Hashem for all the things. What
does a person have to thank Hashem for
to begin with? for us for living for
another day of life another day of
mitzvot another day of Torah another day
that we're here second I can seem
I can hear I can hear I can hear
third I can walk we walked here today
that we walked here today
to thank Hashem for our legs for our
feet that have clothing not only one set
of clothing but other set of clothing I
once was in Poland
I need a pair of shoes. My shoes wore
out. I was there for a few weeks. I went
to the main department store at that
time in Poland. Main department store.
And I said to him, I need to have a pair
of shoes. Can you give me a shoes? The
guy brought out a pair of shoes. I'm
tell don't tell anybody. I'm an 11 and a
half. He brought me out a pair of shoes.
A six go. Right. He brings. So I said to
him, uh, my friend, this is 11 and a
half. This is six. He said, "No, it
shoes."
But I said, "But it's not but it shoes."
Then I realized to have a pair of shoes
is not so simple. I never forget it. I
never forget that we take for granted. I
got this shoes for now. I got the
sneakers for then. But then when it's
fancy sneakers, I got the other kind of
sneakers. But for running, I got now
another pair. Every guy has like a 20
pair, you know, whatever.
What is it? I have to thank Hashem for
each one. I have to thank Hashem for all
the good. You have a food on the Shabbat
everybody has in kush and you have
everything that you need. You have to
thank Hashem. There's good air
conditioning, beautiful sh you come in.
I was just admiring some of this that
you have to pray from in there. It's
unbelievable. I feel like coming myself
one time and just praying together with
everybody in the show is unreal. I don't
know if you'll let me in, but if you
will, I want to come. It's a beautiful
place. Thank Hashem. You gave us such a
beautiful bait midrash. So, they began
to thank Hashem for everything. And they
were crying when they're thanking Hashem
for everything because they begin to
think back in life. I thank Hashem. I
got a lot to thank Hashem for. A real
lot. Believe me, everybody we're living
today. You wake up in the morning, you
thank
that I'm able to walk
as though you thank Hashem.
As they're thanking Hashem, they get a
call on the telephone. Call a telephone
from the Shhatan.
The shan the matchmaker said,
"I want you to know the other side is
extremely
upset
that I want to apologize." The couple
said, "No, no, it's okay. We don't want
to hear. It's okay. We accepted it.
Everything is good. Everything
>> Everything is good. We've accepted it.
Don't worry about He said, "No, no, but
they're very, very sorry.
something happened and they had a
reaction to it.
They don't know how to tell you this,
but they would like that uh engagement
come back together again. They want that
the couple should be engaged.
The initial reaction from a person that
does not have amuna, the initial
reaction of a person that feels that
they want to take nikama vengeance. The
initial reaction is I'll show you is
fine but we are no longer interested
good luck and good life or good riddens
or whatever you say. No,
happy is the person that believes that
believes that everything is mama
they said whatever happened we are not
going to ask why and how and what
happened and where we're not going to
ask
we will continue with the
next day
there was a beautiful art there was a
beautiful engagement and everything went
on a person can never tell what happens
at what time it is our job to be met pal
I'm going to if you remind me in a
minute I will tell you you can never
tell where you're going and why you have
to go in that way there is a uh
unbelievable
unbelievable piece that we read in kazal
bear with me for a Second
is so great.
We get closer to theina. We get closer
to Hashem and we don't even realize it
how close we are. I can think uh you
know I'm not that close to Hashem. I'm
not that you know spiritual. Everybody
is close to Hashem. Everybody has a kher
a kesher that nobody else has. Hashem,
it says, waits for each and every one of
us tonight. Everybody that was supposed
to come here to the sh the beautiful
crowd, I want you to know Hashem had the
guest list and Hashem is waiting for
each and every one of us to come and
then gets tremendous from it. Just like
if you're making a sim everybody,
everybody and you have the list, well,
where is this person? Where is that
person? And on the way in this evening,
somebody called me up and asked me where
I'm at. I couldn't go. I have to come to
Kazak. But uh it's an interesting thing.
You have it. Hashem knows everybody and
where they're at. And what does it say?
Yesterday the person was hated in front
of Hashem. They did the wrong thing.
They made
they desecrated Hashem's name. Can you
imagine a person that does that? They go
in public and they make and people say,
"Oh, that's what a Jew does. That's a
religious Jew. That's what they do. Keep
me far away." Right?
Yesterday the person did something
wrong. Yesterday the person stole.
Yesterday the person Shabbat Yesterday
the person went, they ate. Yesterday the
person went and they weren't nice
to a a widow to a to an orphan
yesterday. However, listen what Rambam
says.
However,
the person was
they were abomination far despised in
front of Hashem.
Today the person did they stood up by
the or they stood in the women's section
goal. They said, they said,
"Bring me close. I'm far away. I want to
do tisha. I want to be close to you. I
want Hashem says you asked to do
tishua." So today, listen to this. Who?
He's not despised. He's not an
abomination. Beloved, precious. Listen.
Hashem says you're precious. When's the
last time somebody told you you're
precious? I don't know. But anyhow,
Hashem says you're precious. It's on the
highest level.
You're a relative of Hashem. A relative
of Hashem. People always say you're a
relative. I was walking down King's
Highway in Brooklyn one time and a guy
told me he's my relative.
I know most of my relatives. He says,
"Not only that, but I can tell you I was
the one who gave you your name."
That I knew the guy was way off, but a
lot of people want to be a relative like
that. Yeah, we're connected. We're
whatever. There was a guy, same name. I
won't tell you the state he lived in.
So, he called his son the same name as
my first name. Can you imagine? At least
he could pay me. But anyhow, he called
me to say he called. So he brought over
a he said, "I want you to meet him." He
says, "Do you know the media coverage we
get because his name is the same name as
yours." So everybody always talks about
it like it's a a piece to to speak
about. Anyhow, let me get back to the
point. You did close to Hashem, a
relative. And you did friend of Hashem.
Friend of Hashem
more than that. Yesterday the person was
crying out and would not be answered.
They would do a mitzvah and the mitzvah
would disappear because it was eaten up.
And today
the person is one with the he cries out,
she cries out, Hashem listens and saves
the person.
And Hashem accepts every single mitzvah
that the person did. And that doesn't
matter what a person did. I just want to
I got to bear with me for one more
minute. I got to tell you. The great
the greatest of the great
says the following. Listen to this. A
person should know that a never to
despair, never to give up. Whether it's
a body or a uh spiritual or physical
thing even though the person sunk down
to wherever they sunk down to didn't
matter
the person went and served idols went
over to India and began to serve the
gods over there
they became a career criminal or shalom
whatever they did
and did an a in something that Say
that chuva will not help. The guy can
repent for the rest of his life. Don't
matter.
Or the chuva is very difficult to
repent.
The guy's like in quicksand. I can't get
out of this. I got a life of a I'm doing
this. I'm doing that. I can't get out.
How I am is how I am. I'm angry. I'm
upset. I blow up. I'm a bgya. I'm
arrogant. I'm any of that. I'll never
change. That's just the way I am. That's
how I'm wired. No, sir.
A person should never lose their hope.
Never.
There is never something called giving
up by a Jew. Hashem can help in any.
This is the Jew
never to give up
because Hashem can help us no matter
what. No matter which things we've done,
Hashem can help us in any area of life.
Never never to give up. I've had some
people that have been pretty pretty bad
off and they have been able to come
back. I will tell you uh you never can
tell where you're sent for what reason
that you're sent and where you're at.
You can never tell if you somebody puts
you in a place and you don't know why
you're there. You can never tell why
you're there. In Eritz is there was a
collo
a regular man in the colo very
sincere the real deal dedicated man he
comes home after a whole day of learning
he learns until 7:30 he comes home 8:00
Ben
8:00 he comes home he can spend a little
time with the children before they have
to go to sleep eat a little suda
with his wife and he's happy. He got the
blessed life. He's learning all day.
Beautiful Torah to that's his whole
work. That's his whole life.
He comes home one time all of a sudden
knock on a door. He just came home. He
closed the door. 7:30
Mishtar the police two police they say
to him
Moshe
Moshe go he says yes he says you're
under arrest
the colo man you're under arrest they
take handcuffs they put handcuff on him
a ko guy he just finished learning the
Torah Ah, he just finished Tammud. He
just finished a whole day of Mousar and
praying. And they put her handcuffs on
him. He said,
"What's going on?" "No, we have we got
the warrant for your arrest. We're
arresting you." His wife begins to
scream, "What are you doing? How are you
doing? The kids are upset." She said,
"The kids, they shouldn't come down and
see it." But why? This is our orders.
You can come quietly and nicely or we
can drag you away. They didn't have any
great love for him. A lot of the police
are wonderful in Israel. A lot of the
police are sadikim. This happened to be
one guy was not such a great big sadik.
He said we can take you away. Quiet. We
can take you away. No.
Let him away.
They begin to lead him away in the
handcuffs.
Terrible.
I don't know if the neighbors saw it or
not. They put him in. They put him in
the prison. It's night time. They put
him in with criminals in the holding
cell. Other criminals are standing there
and they have this Carlo guy.
He's there for a while. They told him
his case is going to be tried in the
morning. The judge will first hear him
in the morning. He's got to stay the
whole night. The whole night.
What kind of a place is it for him to
stay at night? Terrible.
Yadik
was in the betaim. He stayed in the
prison. And the say for Yseph Sadik for
his level that he had to be in the
Egyptian prison. There wasn't a worse
oish than that. Not a worse punishment.
Yose sadik should have to stay in the
prison.
So this colo, he's in the prison.
There's another guy and I guess it's
boring. I don't know. Hope I never have
the uh the opportunity. I guess it's
boring to be in the prison. So one
prisoner talks the other prisoner. So he
sees this religious man standing, you
know, dress with the he's got still his
hat on and and the guy wants to talk to
him. So he goes over, what do you say to
him? What what do you say to the guy?
You know,
how do you So there's one question that
they ask in prison. I hope no one should
ever know this, but I know this. Okay.
What they ask for? Tell me the question
they ask in prison. Anybody?
Who's what' you do?
What' you do?
So he said, "I didn't do anything." They
asked the color, "I didn't do it.
I'm innocent. I didn't do nothing." Oh,
they start looking at him. He said, "I
came home from learning in Cole and they
put me in handcuffs and they brought me
in."
The kilo guy said to him, "What did you
do? What did you do?" He said, "Well,
uh, I hit my kala."
Hit his kala. It's not a good thing to
do. You know, there are other ways to
deal with it.
The caller said, "You hit your kala." He
says, "Yes, twice. I hit my kala." Story
gets better. He's hitting twice, right?
The klel guy is about ready to faint.
This guy's hitting his kala. This is
where he's spending his night, you know,
mishar in the in the prison. And he
says, "Yes, I hit her twice."
The kaga says, "Lama, why would you hit
somebody, especially a kala, a woman, a
girl, why would you hit her twice?" He
said, "I had a very, very good reason."
Why?
because she was hitting her little boy.
Her little boy. And I couldn't take it.
I love him with my heart and soul. I
love that little boy. And she and I kept
telling her, "Stop. Stop. Stop." I
couldn't control myself. Finally, I
said, "Go away." And I did. I gave a
smack because I cared about the little
boy.
The kylo says, "Who is this little boy?"
He says, "Well, you have to understand
my brother." He said, "I love a shalom.
My brother died. He was married to this
woman
and they had this little boy."
The little boy was heartbroken. His
father wasn't here in the world anymore.
However, I look like my brother. I have
the same facial. I have the same
mahalak. And the little boy loves me and
I love him. And we are very close. I
take him everywhere. I take him to the
game. I take him to the school. I do
whatever a father would do. I love him
very much.
And in fact,
I am going to marry his mother because I
love him so much. So I can always be the
boy's father.
The colo man said, "Wait a minute."
That is your brother's
his widow. Yes.
Assur
is forbidden.
A you cannot marry it is impossible to
marry a brother's wife. No. The other
man said ye booms a mitzvah that you go
and you marry the No, no, no, no, no,
no, no. The ko said only a mitzvah if
there are not any
>> children.
If there is a child assur
meteorit
it is forbidden. No way. The guy, the
guy who hit the kala begins to get
upset. You don't know halaka. You
learning all day in the coal. You don't
know. And he said, I promise you I do
know. They said, "No, ye boom, ye boom,
you got the biggest mitzvah in the
world. I'm marrying her and it's going
to be unbelievable." And he says, "As
they're arguing and arguing, arguing."
Finally, the guy tells the colo guy, you
know, I wish I would have never met you.
They shouldn't have brought you here,
man. That was a mistake. You are right
because all you're doing here is giving
me sar. I'm trying to do the biggest
mitzvah in the world and you come and
give me problems. I don't need problems
in the prison. I got enough problems
with the te with the with the file
already.
Okay. arguing back and forth, yelling at
the top of their lungs. If you yell, if
you care about something, he cared about
this guy. He's yelling the guy, he cared
about,
he doesn't want something to go. If you
care, you're going to say something.
I cried when I saw somebody out in the
street and they weren't keeping the
mitzvah. I cried on Shabbat. I cried
when I saw people going in different
places. I cried.
This ka guy couldn't keep it. He had to
yell. He wanted to stop it.
All the other prisoners there, they're
like, "Oh, this is a good show tonight."
They're all watching it back and forth
and listening. It's unreal.
All of a sudden, all of a sudden, it was
about 4:00 a.m.
4:00 a.m.
The man who hit the kala put his hands
up and said, "Saddak,
you are right."
He bent his head and he said, "I didn't
want to believe you, but I see you are
true and you are saying what the Torah
says to me.
I will not marry her. I will listen to
you." At that second, all of a sudden,
the guard comes,
opens up the door, tells the coll,
"We do not know how to apologize to you.
>> We made a error. There is a person with
your same name and even similar height
and weight that we were supposed to get.
I want to apologize.
We don't know how we could ever make it
up to you. You are free to go. The ko
guy quoted a that we learned the said
and you
meant it bad.
But Hashem had only the best in mind
when we were sent. So you see it happens
that when a person does not realize that
Hashem is in charge of our every moment
of our every action, Hashem will make
sure that we are in the right place.
Hashem will make sure that we have the
right opportunities. But we need to have
constant amuna. We need belief in
Hashem. And then it comes to and we
pray. We say the and we know that Hashem
listens to every
a person can walk away.
I prayed and now
Hashem will answer. A person needs to
have great amun big faith in Hashem to
know that the opportunity is now for all
of us to do tisha. Doesn't matter what a
person did. It really doesn't matter.
Anything like we learned here in this
anybody can do anything and they can
have complete inap. I can tell you some
people that did some big a came in and I
tell you they were able to straighten
themselves out. They were able to do
tishuva. They were able to become
sadikimot.
I had one time a young woman came in. It
was a horrible thing and she told me she
went off, she did this, she did that. I
happened to ask her, "Where did you go
to school?"
I needed to start somewhere. It's a
young woman. She said, "Uh, I went to
the Bethyakov."
I said, "Oh, a betakov girl." No, no,
I'm not a betakov girl. I went to the
You told me you went to B. I'm arguing
with her for 10 minutes. I She's not a
beta. You went to bed. You went to bed.
Going back and forth. Anyhow, she was
more upset about that than anything.
Anyhow, I said the fact that you came in
means you want to do tishuva. Hashem
opens the door for anybody that wants to
do tishuva. Opens the door wide.
The door is open for you. I don't know
who told you you should come here, but I
can tell you one thing.
you're going to do tisha.
She thanked me. She asked me one, one
piece of advice and I gave it to her. I
tell you the truth, I always wondered
what happened to her. I wondered, did
she do the tusha? Did she change her
ways? Did she go back to her earlier
life in the beyakov or not? One day I
got a card in the mail. the card in the
mail. She wished to tell me her
progress, that everything went well and
that things are good. And she signed it
at the bottom. A girl from Betyako.
Each of us has the power during this
time to reach higher. Each of us has the
power of tisha. When you say in the
morning the braot you ask Hashem that
every step every step you realize is
guided by Hashem and every step that we
take should bring us one step closer to
the
everybody a good strong year lot of lot
of
all good things
And this year we should sing.
Amen. Thank you.
Thank you. We also want to give a
special um shout out and thank you to
David of so much
of course for tonight. his effort
tonight as well as all he does of course
is a big switch for the Leah Benadish.
