[Music] good evening everybody Welcome to our light to unite program which we launched on August 4th this is with our first podcast this is our second podcast the goal of the light to unite program is to unite all Jews in America Israel around the world and really tonight we're focusing on the unification of American Jewelry the adjective is birs RO hasm on Sunday September 29th here in New York and around the world we will start lighting candles we hope to have at least 1 million plus Jewish people light a yard site memorial candle for all the Jewish brothers and sisters who perished in the October 7th Massacre and over the past year as well as all who have perished in the Holocaust and during other persecutions of the Jewish people since the existence of the Jewish people over 2,000 3,000 years ago to start with my name is tuvia Sosi I was born raised and educated in Philadelphia as a secular non-observant Jew and over the last 15 years I became an observant Jew I grew up being an American Jew now I'm a proud Jewish American big difference big difference so my story is long so I'm gonna keep this very short with the introduction because I really want our guests to be the ones to speak tonight so it gives me great pleasure to welcome duie honig who I met many years ago who is the founder and coo Co CEO of the Orthodox Jewish Chamber of Commerce headquartered in both Lakewood New Jersey and on Wall Street um duvie has done amazing work and continues to do amazing work in just bringing the world together to have peaceful existence through business and commerce not so much about politics although we work you know a lot with politicians and governments and presidents of countries um but I'll let doy tell us a little bit more about that so doy please take it away toia thank you for um for this vision and for cheering this this this leadership of uniting the Jews you know all all sectors musl thank you for your leadership from within our organization ofas promoting from the Torah aspect of the business World Outreach but also for reaching out um beyond the Jewish Community we do every day and speak on behalf of of giving you know inspirational um messaging that we're here today to share as a whole as a group and thank you kazak for hosting and all all this partnership is not a new partnership it's a partnership that we always work together on proud to share this together today having said that um when we started the orthodo Jewish Chamber of Commerce um during the recession in 2008 um our mission and our goal was to create a community to unite the Jewish Nation religious non-religious um through Commerce and using Commerce as something that puts division aside and and unites people through Commerce regardless of whether the conservative reformed Orthodox modern Orthodox and or different sectors is or or or different countries or different languages and and breaking all these barriers by bringing them together through Commerce and empowering them all to work together today I could tell you you know I am so proud of where we're holding today um and just to mention when we started this people had a lot of pressure from our board and from from our leadership or from outside saying do just call it the Jewish it'll be much more inclusive why call it the Le Chamber of Commerce and I said no no no no no I'm sorry we have values and the number one thing is that people have to know that our chamber carries values yes we're here to unite people but we are not here to budge and that strength brought us so much further and respect from everyone why first of all we advocated in Israel we stopped the bills they G to have H shabas hubs and in we held a session and we stopped the from happening because I brought a delegation including my kab and different people on leadership of different Christian Jewish groups who are supportive of Israel and I told Israel in the Kess I said if you're it's it's a week after kanuk and you have minorities all over the place you just voted on khaka in the knesset to pass a law that if someone can come to work on Shabbat they be able to be fired I said how your noers over here reflect that we won the war we W fighting for and now in your with you trying to say that we don't respect who we are we want we want to do exactly what what what what wanted to do that they wanted to take away shabas from us and punish people in the state of Israel that if they don't come to work in shabas they would lose their jobs and I said if you don't respect yourself how can you have the world respect you and that's what the Orthodox je mamus is today we are proud of our heritage we are proud of of the religion and the connection to God to Hashem and and by anyone listening to this whether you're religious or not and many of you interacted with me from all different sectors conservative reform you know briefs we filed in Supreme Court Justice um we were involved to protect you know Jews where have to go they have to leave early for shabas we law we were on those briefs we we fought on behalf of creating Economic Development Solutions um from the Department of Labor uh to change what grants are given to communities churches and synagogues and small communities 30% of those grants have to go to community places that we used our relationships to Advocate on behalf on Federal and State levels not just for our community but for everyone as a whole reaching outwards showing the strength of our minority position saying it's not just about me it's about all of us together and that makes us stronger that that identity makes us who we are that gives us respect I just had a piece written that was posted on the Sunday paper in Jerusalem post um you know a few months ago after October 7th and and you know the Jerusalem Post you know the the upad from the print you know they a little more to the left let's say and they embraced it and printed it they were so excited because when I called I was as follows I said listen Israel you have the world standing up against you the first few weeks everyone's passionate but yeah terrorism and this but people aren't educated and they forget and they see so much social media out there and things they get confused I said the fact is the only thing that's going to unite us and get the governments to stand behind us is the first thing is we have to respect ourselves we have to be proud of our heritage we have to be proud of being a Jew we forget about Orthodoxy we have to be proud of identity because if we're not if we don't respect who we are the world's not going to respect us um and and I pointed out I I work like right now I'm going into meeting um the India signed the mou with us memorandum of understanding that you sign with governments to trade India is today surpass the population of China and they're coming to off that why to build relationships to overtake China why because today we sit on World Trade leue we hosted World Trade League what's on behalf the whole United States of America represent reflecting on every every government trade economy in the United States what's the biggest economy in the world and that's because of the broad relationships think of us as a that we have whereever it is a Jewish Community we are establishing networks to empower people and bring communities together and we just you know I'm proud to now to just appointed R Penny Dunner um to be our chair in Beverly Hills in the west coast September 16th doing an event there we're bringing the Jews together from Ocean count Orange County non-religious Beverly Hills Jews you know West Coast Jews no not nothing related to to what sector of religion they are but bringing our community stronger together and showing when we strengthen ourselves through commas we are stronger thank you Duvy that was amazing and uh now we're very happy to welcome our dear Rabbi and dear friend uh Rabbi milstein who I met when I first moved to Bri Brooklyn 12 years ago and he was doing a project Inspire event and that was the first time I met you the first time I spoke with you and I got to spend many time times with you in Lakewood and speaking with you in other times so uh always appreciate you and I'm so glad that you actually were requested by duie kig to be the rabbi for us tonight so what we're doing on these podcasts we'll have four all together before our event is to bring a prominent leading Rabbi and a prominent us Jewish businessman to come and and really inspire all of us and to accelerate the bring together so that we have at least a million plus Jews Lighting on September 29th so duie thank you so much robbi milston please take it away and when we're done the three of us will have a conversation and really address some of the issues we're facing with right now in America thank you bar we have D honig here uh a man for all seasons someone who's who's never uh looking for words he's got the words right there you know and but the truth is that the work that he does to promote Jewish Unity is incredible and he asked me a little while back to help out with something and I was very privileged to help out and and in the end uh it not only I didn't I wasn't doing him a favor he did me a favor but asking him to help him out because ultimately what happened was that some of the talks that I gave them you know they spread out and before I know if people come over to me that think I'm an expert in the field that I spoke about which was Jewish bus business practices and people think I'm an expert on it I'm really not I just prepared a couple of you know talks for Dy before I know it like the world's coming to me I want to make a point every every single Jew has greatness in him God did not create any duplicates when it comes to Jewish people nober used to say every Jew is a genius he just has to discover where and what and how but everybody has geniusism every Jew has greatness in him we were we are the chosen people we're not chosen God tells in the Torah because we're better looking we're not which we might be but we're not better looking not because we're smarter you know the Asians are just about as smart as we are that's the truth if you look if you sit down and measure IQ the Asians are very very smart they really really are you know and the Chinese have to copy everything for America it doesn't get done at all you know and here we are you know we have the majority of the Nobel prizes and it's like it's incredible with this tiny little people right but what does it mean it means we have greatness in us for a reason because when the chips are down you need a great person to have the Breakthrough solution to make it happen when the chips are down you need a duon because the Jewish people were suffering you know especially the Orthodox Jewish Community when it came to the downturn a business a number of years ago I attended several of his uh his programs you know the truth is you need a great person to step up everyone else is ringing their hands and dby comes along and he creates a solution and he creates a bridge for people to be able to do business with each other before you know it Jews have prosa it's incredible what he's done and then how he has bootstrapped that into this major National Organization where he's a force to be reckoned with in Washington this incredible but I want to make a point and I think duby will more than anybody agree with this point every Jew has genius every Jew has greatness every Jew's potential it's just unrealized it's unrealized and we need to turn to our spiritual selves to unlock it if we're living daily lives if the only thing we worry about is what brand of beer to bring to the tailgate party we're not going to be great if we're worried about you know how exactly to decorate our inground swimming pool in the house that doesn't make us great but if we think about what is a another Jew need that makes us great as I was saying before people saidie you know take away the name Orthodox just be Jewish chamber you'll be so much more inclusive and I said no no no I said we are proud of who we are we are proud of our heritage when the world sees we're proud of it they respect us and that's what's lacking the big challenge today when you're proud of who you are you have ownership you have a right to speak on behalf of your values and the world listens but indust Jus post um article um I pointed out and I said that when's the last time you've seen a a Jewish Council General from Israel wearing a k when's the last time you saw them being sensitive not to do something on Shabbat when's the last time you saw anyone representing the state of Israel in any format throughout any Council General throughout the world wearing a keep wearing toit or being a proud Jew and by you resenting who you are and not being proud of your identity you just put yourself in a position as the unog like why should why should we respect or care about who and what you are if you don't respect that and you're embarrassed about yourself so we have to bring the element of of what Pride really means being a proud Jew now I want to tell you I spoke we work with the Russian community who doesn't know much in Brighton Beach who represent all of them and I spoken by those events I host we enow them and they asked me by 100 days uh by the 100 day uh of of the hostages to speak in the win and the freezing cold outdoors and I joined them to speak on behalf of Israel the hostages are calling on the president and the administration to to call to free the American hostages specifically forget about getting involved in politics we have American host M and to speak up against it now I want to tell you there were 100 to 150 Jews who knew nothing about Judaism nothing about Shabbat nothing they probably know sh isra but they got together standing in the freezing cold screaming and crying as proud Jews and I got up there and I spoke and I told them I want to tell you guys I speak in front of offda community we represent and I spoken in front of thousands and thousands of Orthodox communities as we chill because we helped these communities because we have networks I cheered the betal dinner when David fredman stepped down as Ambassador and we helped him get his position I Che we helped we helped every section we cheered at ter din we helped these organizations every sector and all Al but also also the Zionist organizations who are pro Israel when they stand up to fight on behalf of Israel we help them and we work with them and we and we support them but the fact is the fact is that these people don't know much about Judaism at all but they're proud Jews and I said you know what I respect and I am more passionate and more appreciative and more touched to stand with all you Jews in Brighton Beach who are just standing together saying we stand with Israel we Calles we are proud Jews without that is this is told them this is how the Jews accepted the Torah you don't know much I said I'm not better than you I thank God were privileged my grandparents came after the Holocaust to to America and they had Yesa on me too and I had education God forbid I wouldn't have an education you came out of an iron curtain you didn't have those networks you didn't have the education I have but you're still getting up here saying we are proud Jews and this and we are being persecuted over here our FL every day the hostage signs are being ripped down in Brighton Beach and we are going and putting it up our Israeli flags are being pulled down every day from where we put it and we're sing it that is what they know about but they have they are more important to hasem than most of the percentage of the Jews who go through the system who just do it systematically because this is what Jews are about by evaluating a Jew by saying I he keeps Shabbat he doesn't keep Shabbat he he's more religious he's not that religious that is not the way God Hashem wants us or judge us that is not what we stand for it's where we are proud to be and once that happen we are able to uplift ourselves to be able to be stronger I just came back from a hike in Europe and I saw American Yesa B hiking in the waters in the mountains you know just with that everyone's wearing bathing suit shorts not t-shirts with that CT and he said you know what they were so proud from being Jews they were so proud of the identity unconditionally nothing attached to it no one looking them in the woods they were proud to where sit because they God chosen Nation how can I not want to where sit and be proud as a Jew and that's what the says about gave us anyone gets an award from the queen or n they wear that that medal and things so if we from Hashem we shouldn't be proud to to where so he saw that message in Europe by seeing plain pure hearted proud Jews and and that's how people get affected and people get influenced and people are united by being proud of being Jewish thank you thank you duy that was amazing and uh I'm so happy we reached out to you to really be a partner with the light to unite initiative and with all the resources that you bring maybe we will break through not to the 20% but the 80% here in America that are not observant to show them all the great things that we're doing on this side and this is the team that hashem's picked Unity is strength you heard the story from RI which is incredible one story many stories that are incredible that if we stand up as proud Jews there isn't anything we cannot do going back all the way to the times of mosh Renu mosh Renu is extremely upset that any one is fighting within the story of Kor the story of the anytime there's any kind of dispute with f of he falls on his face he was not a weak link he was a strong man why is he falling on his face because someone offers a challenge he faced EMP parro never fell on his face that wasn't that wasn't a problem suddenly the Jews are fighting because ultimately Jews become weak when they are divided we become weak when we are divided yosua wins every battle miraculously to conquer Isel except for one it was a story with aanan as an individual stole from The Spoils of battle and he took it for himself and in the processing process of identifying he had to be prosecuted Pro identifying someone spoke lashara Yeshua who's righteous loses the battle the next day in a place called I he loses the battle Yeshua is along and stop that division we win every single battle it's time tested you can look at over during The Six Day War there was no fighting among the Jewish people Six Day War was an impossible War for Israel they had prepared hundreds of thousands of body bags because they knew that the war was not going to go well for Israel Israel was not the superpower that it is today Israel was a little country beled by tens of millions of not hundreds of millions of Arabs and all the armies they attacked simultaneously and Israel won the war in the first hours of the war literally wiping out the Egyptian Air Force and miracles happened it was a miracle Six Day War was a miracle why because instead of fighting with each other we unified we when we unify we have strength you want to know what the solution to the problem Israel I dare you to ask any military strategist what strategy he has Israel coming out on top right now with a ring of fire around them of all those Nations attacking them with Iran pulling all the strings and having seven different fronts attacking Israel you can ask the biggest experts and some of them are my friends they tell me they don't see a way out we have to rely on God well guess what there is a way out the way out is Unity we in the United States of America if you light that candle you think you're just doing something in your own home you're wrong when you light that candle you are making sure that some Israeli soldier that's out there in the front risk giving his life his life will be saved he'll be successful not only will he be safe but he'll be able to take out a lot of the bad guys if we light a candle what we're doing is we are actually talking about the eternity The Eternity of the state of Israel when we light a candle then some fellow in Israel who is out there risking his life literally then he he fortunately he'll be able to come home again and his wife will not be a widow and his children will not be orphaned that's what the candle means and I'm not saying this in any magical mystical way this is what the Jewish people is none other than Boran Bor was not considered a very Orthodox Jew he said any Jew that does not believe in miracles is not a realist we are not a people without Miracles and what brings about the Miracles the unity that we have light that candle light that candle I urge everybody go out there let's do it what's it going to cost you to light a candle candle cost pennies what is it worth there's anti-semitism all over the place unprecedented on the campuses in the streets I was in Brooklyn at chab a couple every second block that they tore down the posters of the hostages every second block they talk about you know the genocide that the Jews are committing yes we are genocidal Jews we're Jews against whom genocide was committed over and over again for thousands of years that's why we're genocidal because we're the victims of genocide we never performed genocide anybody in our entire thousands of years of History never did that to anybody it's incredible think about it for a moment and yet they're all against us what strength do we have to battle it a lot of people have a lot of good ideas but you know what the best idea time proven it's in the Torah itself is Unity light a candle of unity go ahead be count be counted among the Jewish people be counted Among Us create this sense of unity this one Shas for at least for the length of that those candles are burning light a light and illuminate the world light that one candle like the two candles going to light and illuminate the world it's going to change the world I will tell you there's no downside and there's only an upside and all you need to do to know that this is effective is to turn the pages of the Bible and you see that itself so we're not here for any other reason other than by Miracles there's no way that we get to last into eternity is like the Chinese that are billions of people or je we we don't we don't qualify we're just a little group of people how are we still here today it's only through the Miracles only through the strength of our Torah the strength of a Unity that's why we're here invite all the Jews out there whether or not you keep kosher whether or not you keep the rest of whatever you can do whatever you do please light C light candles early enough before Sund got to make sure before sun doesn't count after Sund doesn't count it's got to be before Sundown 18 minutes before Sundown if we've all G to like that candle I predict great Miracles are going to happen we're going to see in our day the bad guys lose the good guys win and hopefully the Rival of M himself thank you thank you RAB that was beautiful so just to enunciate on that so the the day of Friday September 27th we are inviting all Jewish women observant non-observant women to light shabas candles in North America that's how we're starting this why because that's the women's Mitzvah they have three big Mitzvah that's one of the biggest it's lighting and then on Sunday that's when we continue with a full ladies program why because the ladies have always been there and much of the success of the Jews from Sara to Esther has been Miriam has been the the ladies just like our forefathers to move forward so lighting those shabas candles Friday night is just the start of it and then there'll be a full program before we do the the uh main lighting with ladies the best ladies the most Progressive ladies here in America Jewish ladies and then we actually do the actual lighting and the objective is that we have over a million Jews lighting together as the rabbi enunciated know probably enunciate again so it gets through our thick heads that's why we win is when we light and we unite and that's why we're doing all this um so I'm going to leave it open now because we're going to have a short conversation um but any comments that Rabbi you'd like to make or questions you like to ask or doie I I would like to add one thing on the most mentioned um and of course on your mission to add you know um the cherry on top of of the the the pie um to SU suiz with Once little spe speech that I spoke in shuu um I have the honor to be part of the shuu family um my grand my grandparents are the founders of shuu it started in their dining room with the PM until today was just by the Shuba schools three weeks ago um helping them get you know new infrastructure through governmental buildings and of course through Community inclusion and we also started in Ukraine I started my oration we started the first ever evacuation um we bought buses and ambulances to take Jews out of danger not I'm not talking about evacuating around the cities the places where they were shooting and lives in danger to evacuate them those children came to Israel and they were going to be put in non-jewish schools and we helped get thousands of kids into the sh school system through kabad calling meally that they going to be put by one in the non-jewish stre systems and and and I made a meeting to RAB Gman and kabad and that was on Tuesday and by Thursday I got a picture and videos of hundreds of girls taking hundreds of kids being able to being in the je school system saving their souls but otherwise would have been lost I want to give a shout out to Shu for all that work they do and all the schools they do at the same time I said one statement to the children when I went and and I visited the school one of the schools now um a few weeks ago and I told him like this the most beautiful blessing we have prayer we have and my re told it to me when I was 13 14 in Israel he said is when we say every you we D we D for ourselves and we think but over here we're telling Hashem that it's not about me I'm stopping to ask it's about how lucky I am that you chose Nations you chose us Nations you love us cherish us us and you uplifted Us in all the languages not just Nations languages listen to the thing because we have the and you us you purify us with the and you brought us into inner circle of the essence of what keeps the the whole world going is the learning of T and and this this is the ultimate Pride what a Jew has I said you're sitting here today after being persecuted in Russia and and iron curtains and being disprivileged from learning power and everything you have the opportunity today to know what sh is is you have the opportunity to know what a Jew is you see how we're being attacked you see how you persecuted behind the Iron Curtain there's no bigger beautiful thing to be proud the being they're saying to hasem this prayer how lucky we are that hasem chose us look at the non-jews out there go look at those rallies I was just now by a rally over here in the city I work we work with all the presidents of the of of all the colleges the people standing after with the pramas flags they're drugged up those guys aren't are read they don't even know their name these people don't have value the reason they're protesting is because they don't have what to do with their lives and what's about all the UN and all the nations of the worlds who get up there and have no values all they I have his hate we are proud Jews look at the Miracles what happened with the hundreds of missiles sent from Iran now one made it in it's statistically it's impossible only through a miracle okay that Hashem killed the president of Iran mid mid that's whyem did it it says why did isra become religious because he saw that God punished the Egyptians the way they they punish the Jews by drowning them God drowned them that shows that Jewish god signature by them shooting missiles from the sky and and Hashem taking down that president from the sky shows that Hashem is leadership showing that I'm doing it no one else is doing and I'm fighting your Wars as it says you fight's gonna fight you you be quiet you Jews you are my children I love you and the feel the love of hem and I want to take away from this call to be that until we go to light the candles every single one of us should see a challenge we have and see the solution and understand that this is coming divine presence from above and recognize Hashem within us and once you recognize Hashem within us that light is going to ignite in our souls and that light is going to ignite in us to be able to light and carry the light on further on behalf of all these Jews who sacrificed and murdered kesem thank you so much Rabbi we we'll take a couple more minutes you guys are phenomenal and and uh I'm just loving the whole thing I'm really appealing now I know there are a lot of from Jews out there listening that's like preaching to the choir not interested I love you and I'm very interested in your otherwise but not in this talk I want to speak to our je our Jewish brothers and sisters who are not yet committed who may look at us you know and I've had this all the time going out there being a public speaker you know you you come into a room and they look at you and they say what does this guy know and then if you speak English better than they do they stop for a minute they go wait a second it may be that he knows what I know I just don't know what he knows this is my appeal to you we Orthodox Jews I know we look strange to you but it's not because we don't know what sports is it's not because we don't know what theater is it's not we have all we we know all of that but we're preferring to live lives that are close to God because that is the most fulfilling aspect of life we have families that are successful because when you pay attention to your spiritual needs then you know what physically you're going to do better your fames will turn out better when you have Jewish values and you live those Jewish even if you're not observant yet but find out what the values are within the life that you lead and try to follow those things you will have a better life in the here and the now someone that I was working with who decided on his own to become our observant he was having a very very hard time and he asked me and he said R you know why do you do this there's so many requirements why do you do this and I turned to him and I gave him the shock of his life I didn't answer what he expected I said because I'm having a blast I'm loving life I love every single moment of my life you understand there's nothing in my life that's not meaningful there's nothing in my life that's nagging me and say you know what I'm not really fulfilling my potential I'm not doing what I really need to do I should be you know climbing higher the corporate ladder I should be doing no I'm doing what I need to do I'm in sh every morning I put on my fill and I'm lucky to do that like said I'm the chosen Nation I'm doing the most important work in the world when I put on my f I know that some solders getting protected when you going to light the candles you know a soldier's going to be protected you you know that there's going to be a bomb that's launched by Iran which is going to fall in the open field and it's not going to hurt anybody because that was your candle that was what you did so I'm just saying I feel lucky I feel so fortunate but every Jew should feel that same Good Fortune every Jew should feel I know I was created for something special Donald Trump recently escaped an assassination attempt and and he's he made many different statements about it one of the statements he made that stuck with me is that he saids you know I realized I was spared for something every Jew can take that can say that you know why because the Jewish people should have been by right exterminated a long time ago that's let's be honest history does not favor small influential uninfluential people like us those are the people are relegated to the to the dust bins of History they are let's be honest there many nations that were greater than Earth that you never never heard of I once spoke somewh I spoke about this the selts so they said no no it's the Kelts I said no but the Boston Celtics are the Celtics said no no but it's the Kelts so I didn't even know how to you know how what kind of civilization they were they were huge I don't even know how to pronounce their name and here this little Jewish people still you know what it means generation after generation your family was spared because you have a great purpose there's greatness that's waiting for you you have a every Jew has greatness every Jew has genius just you have to unlock it how do you unlock it by paying attention to your own spirituality take a moment I'm not telling you you have to put on fing today not I'm not if you're not you're not there yet I mean sure if you can of course you should you know I say all I'm saying is open your mind up look for look to make the first connection look to make the first contact with God so to speak and follow your spiritual path everyone has their own and that will unlock the greatness in You Beautiful Rabbi duie one more wrapup statement yes um the wrapup statement is that in 10 minutes I have meeting with the trade Minister from India who signed theou with us um in Manhattan that I have to get um who reached out to us and followed by the Polish trade Minister Poland as well who wants to be part of our Jewish Network that's who they reaching out to us because the strength of unity that we created together as Jews the world of Commerce is recognized in National International levels in the country has the biggest population in the world so I got to run but at the same time it's not me it's all of us together I am proud to be a Jew I am proud to be Orthodox Jew and I am proud to have received emails and letters from the conservative Jews saying that it's an honor to to work with you and know you and have you as a friend and from all sectors of the Jewish Community um understanding and recognizing the unity that we have and the strength we have to to more united the stronger we are and the and the less we United the more we're divided and I urge everyone to tap into themselves and just observe the challenges whether it's health issues whe whether whether whe whe whether it's personal challenges whether it's Financial issues over from now until the day of the lighting of the candle and see
