[Music]
name and welcome to Tor talk kazak's
Tuesday night program with special guest
we have with us tvia sablowski welcome
from Brooklyn so good to see you so nice
to see you
Rabbi TI is a very dear friend of kazak
and we're going to be discussing a
remarkable Journey from secular to
observant and uh you know reab AKA he
became observant at the age of 40 but we
have right over here toia that became
observant at the age of 50 so that's
very inspiring and can you tell us a
little about your upbringing tovia sure
sure Rabbi thank you for having me
always like to do things partner with
hako and many levels so my name is I was
actually born as Thomas Allen Sosi in
Philadelphia I was nicknamed after my
grandfather who came from outside of
Kiev in Ukraine with his father my
great-grandfather in the late 1880s to
Philadelphia uh and they wanted to come
to America and become Americans they
were running away from the pilgrims in
in Russia and Europe and it's
interesting because they were asked to
go to narst toown which is a suburb of
Philadelphia to start help start the
Jewish Community there so that's when my
father grew up there and went to
Villanova College not a very Jewish
College not a very Jewish area and
basically my family just assimilated
same thing with my mom's family they
came from Europe back not as early but
they came in the early 1900s late
1910s um but both my parents grew up
they born in America and they grew up as
as American Jews secular secular um they
belonged to a reformed synagogue called
Ro shom which was we were in the suburbs
so there's a Suburban uh station that we
used to go to but the main synagogue was
on Broad Street in Philadelphia one of
the oldest synagogues in the United
States so back in the 1860s around the
Civil War is when the reform movement
started in Philadelphia started in
Philadelphia really in the country and
May in the world um so there are many
many reformed Jews in the Greater
Philadelphia area grew there and went
elsewhere and that's what I grew up with
and yeah there was no yish kite um and
and the first thing of jewishness coming
to my mind was when I was 5 years old in
kindergarten and my parents sent me to a
Christian Quaker prep school called
William Penn Charter School founded by
William Penn in 1689 one of the oldest
prep schools in the United
States so on the first day I'm on the
school bus and taking me home and I see
one of my parents' son's friends Freddy
man and he said Tommy how are you doing
I said great how was the first day great
I said I'll see you tomorrow Freddy goes
no you won't I said why not because it's
rashash Shana I said okay he said we
don't come to school on Russia Shan I
said why not because we're Jewish I said
Freddy am I Jewish he goes yes of course
you're Jewish you're not coming to
school tomorrow in rashash Shana wow
that was really kind of my one of my
first wakeup calls that I was different
that I was wasn't like all these people
I was going to school with that I was
Jewish wow so that was really the start
of it and my parents I had great family
two older sisters they're still here
here both my parents are not
here um we grew up middle class to
Middle upper class we belonged to a very
nice country club I had everything I
needed um but what was interesting is my
parents wanted me to to really be like a
real American boy they wanted the school
I went to I wor tie and jacket that was
one of the things my dad wanted and uh
but it was a very goish school there
were very few Jews um I was known as I
was people knew me as the Jewish guy I
probably had more fights and got picked
on more than the other Jewish kids in
the class because they just I don't know
what they were doing um in seventh grade
was really a turning point um because I
spent a few years getting stronger so I
could fight off more battles and I
played football so in seventh grade was
the first first game of the year and I
was on the the first kickoff Squad I'm
running down the field and this big guy
six foot plus guy knocks me out seventh
grade totally knocks me out and my mom
used to come to all the games and and
that she was late that game and she got
there and her friend said you missed all
the excitement you missed all the
excitement what happened Tommy got
knocked out oh cold so her mom by that
time I had woken up and and she looked
at me she goes I told you football's not
a Jewish sport it's not a Jewish sport
that was the end of football that was
the end of really full contact sports
for me I did many sports so Sports play
a big part of my life so I started
coaching kids in soccer and playing
tennis more tennis and by ninth grade I
started getting really good in tennis
and one of these kids that I met in my
class also Ling back to seventh grade
one of the first real anti-semitic
events I and fights I was in in seventh
grade this guy named Scott he wrote on
the chalkboard a very derogative term
and form a govern and then he wrote the
same term and soski is the same
thing uh very negative word and that was
fighting word so I flew across the the
hall I beat the guy up and nothing
happened school didn't do anything I
didn't do anything but that was it I
defended myself and felt comfortable
with that in ninth grade he was the same
guy that took me to a country club where
Jews were not allowed to go no one could
go except White anglish SE and
Protestant people could go there as
members but you certainly couldn't be a
member if you were Jewish or black or
you just didn't fit into their community
so I he took me there I don't know why
it's the same guy that was calling me
anti-anemic names and he took me onto a
squash court and we played squash for
the first time and I came home all
excited because I love playing the sport
I told my parents I was playing squash
they had no idea I was talking about
they never heard of this sport before
and it was a very Global sport founded
by the British and they went around the
world playing squash and in the elite
schools in Philadelphia like i' had gone
to and in all the IV League colleges and
the relay College they played squash so
I started playing in ninth grade and I
started playing on the varsity in 10th
Grade by 11th grade I was number one in
the school and by 12th grade I started
playing in National tournaments for
juniors and I was number 10 in the
country well very interesting so that
was and what was really motivating me I
was beating these guys at their own
sport sport m i was beating them and
that really was the fire inside to beat
them this is how I fought them through
beating them and that this continued on
to college continued on to college I got
recruited to play Squash um so one thing
that that God gave me was to this the
skill of co- calling and networking I
love to co- call you know yes and
networking I loved having big network
not technology networks but networks of
people I've always done that um so I
started cold calling the the coaches at
Harvard Dale Princeton all the Ivy
League schools doing my research who had
the best squash teams where an opening
would be and at Penn where I grew up I
was introduced to the squash coach there
and he started training me with the team
so I had an inside there so on the
weekends I would write a letter mail it
because we didn't have emails and boxes
back then and I'd spend weekends going
to the different campuses with the
squash teams as their guest and at the
ended I end up going to the University
of Pennsylvania well and that's actually
where we did an event not too long ago y
with tovia and uh the question is how
did you become more observan how did
that
happen this was back in the 20s I'm
talking about that fast forward um I
ended up continuing to not lead much of
a Jewish life um the other thing my
mother told me was that she wanted me to
marry a Jewish girl wow so like don't
play football but marry a Jewish girl
but why you send me to you know I'm
Jewish but he sent me into a very goyish
environment so my mom passed away I got
married during that time period and my
first wife was not Jewish she came from
Korea when she was 12 years old one of
the first families to immigrate from
Korea to the United States so I have a
25y old daughter who's
beautiful and uh we got divorced in 2004
in 2008 when my mom passed away I was
very very close to my mother she was the
closest person for me in this world and
I was really missing her but I was
always interested in searching personal
development spiritual things and side to
side I would take a couple personal
development
courses the course I took was called L
Landmark
Education which is is Advanced spiritual
work and there are a lot of lost Jews
like myself in that work I was a lost
Jew at the time so I walk into the class
I'd already taken some classes with them
many classes and I see their many Je je
girls in the class so I said for my
mom's sake I'm going to look for the
prettiest girl in the class Jewish girl
and ask her out on a date so it didn't
take very long to locate her she was up
from greatneck and came to the city and
uh I asked her she'd like to go in date
and we're talking and she goes yeah I'd
like to go on a date with you I said
great what would you like to do she goes
I'd like to go to a Torah
class sounds great kak event wasak had
heard hak yet I never heard heard of Tor
never so I said great I'll meet you so I
met her at this big synagogue called KJ
on the upper side off of Park Avenue in
85th Street and I walk in and this lady
approaches me and she said are you here
for tonight's Tor class I said yes I
think so she said great I said are you
single I said yes she said great are you
Jewish I said yes she goes I'm the
assistant Matchmaker I have all these
ladies here we have a crisis going
on I know what was can I introduce
you I said well I'm actually here on
date tonight but if it doesn't work out
I'll certainly be in touch with you so
fast forward I'm sitting with my date
and this person's speaking and they're
talking about that week's para which I
know what a par was and anti-Semitism
which I
knew within 10 minutes a light bulb went
off in my brain and that that was the
moment I started becoming observant wow
that was the moment and that woman this
gives me so much start to interrupt you
know we organize all these events and
Torah class is and lectures and you know
this is going already kak 18 years and
many times in the beginning stage you're
like you know is it really affecting is
it really having a change but just like
tovia just said it's like a light bulb
all of a sudden today everywhere I go
even this morning this guy comes to the
Min to the shore and uh he looked
familiar a little bit but he basically
says if it wasn't I wouldn't be
religious today I wouldn't be keeping
Tor I wouldn't keeping and it gives me
such such inspiration you know he went
to AR STW to Israel because of an event
because of a lecture because of the
inspiration he got but continue please
amazing so at the end of that evening it
was just like I was blown away and the
person had written many books so I
wented to buy the first book that they
had written so I actually bought it with
me today called the Jewish soul on fire
by written by rabit Esther young who
spoke for many times many times Al a
blessed memory yep and I had her write
to my daughter because it was going to
be her birthday oh wow and she wrote may
God be with you and be happy to 120 and
she wrote on the your Daddy loves
you so you should know that I also have
life as a test uhuh sure and uh when she
spoke for kazak I was either dating my
wife or engaged or just recently married
basically I had her do it for Leora and
uh and my wife and uh we still also have
that incription which again it means a
lot you know when a lot of these rabbis
and rabbitson that they write these
books and they they do a a some sort of
a you know for lack of better words
autograph it's not really that but more
of a message in in the book with their
handwriting it means so much more after
they passing AB absolutely so rabit and
Esther young rice was the one that
ignited a flame she set set the fire the
Jewish so many I have so many people
that told me about that and it gives me
a lot of also the fact that she did a
big event in Madison Square Garden and
there was thousands of people there it
brought a lot of people awareness of
Judaism the H organization yes yeah
exactly so her daughter speaks for us
Rob in SL young well her other daughter
I think daughter-in-law yaf rabbits and
yafa young race yeah amazing people it's
it is that was the beginning of your
journey to Judaism beginning so that
week I had to take a business trip from
flying from JFK to San Diego I was going
to San Diego and on the flight I'm
reading the book I can't put it down and
I'm not a great reader I can't really
pay attention that well but this one I'm
just fing through it and someone Taps me
on the back and I look around it's a
young guy and he wants to know why I'm
reading that book so I explain to him
next thing know he's a young kabad
couple he's playing toilin on for the
first time flying from JFK to San Diego
and F to fill for the first time wow so
I ended up finishing the book I loved
the book and I called came back and I
called the lady who had taken me to meet
the Ritson and I so I'd like to go you
know another date with you and she goes
I'm really busy blah blah blah said no
problem I said I want to go see the red
bitson all right if I go by myself she
said absolutely so I went back and again
it was a really very powerful class and
afterwards I went to see her but there
were maybe 30 or 40 people waiting in
line so I heard she stays until the way
hours in the 1 2 in the morning to to be
with the people to and and I just didn't
have the patience to stay so I just said
to the line I'm just going to wave to
her and next I know and she's signaling
me to come over to her half an hour
later I'm apologizing to the people
inline because the rabbits have wanted
to talk to me so in that conversation
she said thank you for coming back tell
me your name I said tubia not tuia
Tommy he said great what's your Hebrew
name I said I don't have one she goes
are you Jewish I said yes your mother's
Jewish yes your father Yes I'm
absolutely you got one when you got your
bris I said I didn't have a bris oh wow
she said you didn't have a bris I said I
was told I had circumcision in Einstein
Hospital when I was in the hospital when
I was born said that's what the Jewish
boys did like me in Philadelphia so
we're talking and she's getting and I
start explaining how my mom passed away
four months ago and how she' been
cremated and she looked at me and she
turned white and she goes we don't
cremate Jewish people don't
cremate she goes we've got a lot of work
to do here you know first you have to
start to learn you have to start
learning humh I'm going to introduce you
my son Rabbi yosher young race please
start learning with him you also have to
get to fill in you have to get proper
Hebrew name
and you have to have a proper
bris okay I'm I'm open to everything it
was very connecting so I started
learning that next week with RAB boy
osher I'd come in and learn homish with
him and I'd go see the rabbits in one or
two nights a week so two three nights a
week I'm I'm busy now learning because I
knew nothing um when I met with the
rabbitson that second time she said when
you get your to fill in I'm going to
give you a Hebrew name so she thought
about for a little bit and she goes your
Hebrew name is going to be tuvia
tell Rabbi osher that will be your human
name so this is in September I go there
for high holy days which were amazing
because they would rent out the most
beautiful hotels H and the young R
family and that's how I started becoming
observant which was extremely powerful
so so so inspiring wow so Rabbi yosher
kept telling me asking me to come visit
him and his Yeshiva in Brooklyn so I
thought they had yeshivas in Brooklyn so
finally in January
in uh 2009 few months after me the young
races I went out to Conley Island Avenue
and I see this big building I'm thinking
wow I know they had nice property in
manhatt but this is this is a big
building this is serious I walk in said
Rabbi OSHA I knew you were doing well
but this building's he goes we don't own
the building this is my issu but this is
where I've gone my whole life it was
high in Berlin oh wow so that day it was
about zero degrees out it was a
beautiful winter January day I felt like
I was in back in Russia and Rabbi yosher
took me into the main sh to introduce me
to different rabbis and that we could
learn and I literally thought I was back
in the 1800s it was such a
throwback so after we learned for about
an hour he said it's time to go get your
to fill in with Rabbi Pinkus which is a
very famous store on Cony Island Avenue
we walk in we're talking to Rabbi pinkis
Tu needs to Tommy needs to get to
filling and in walks another Rabbi and
Rabbi ooser youngr says by pesak cron
you're just the man we're looking for he
goes do I know you he goes yes you know
me you know my mother you've spoken with
her rabbits and young oh yes I remember
you I remember you but why do you need
me he goes well I were introducing my
friend Tommy because Tommy needs to get
a proper bris he was circumcised but he
needs to fill in Hebrew name proper bris
wow are you available he goes well I
usually am not here I live in Queens but
I just need to come and get something
special done for my to to fill in he
said but in my in my truck I've got my
toolkit I can go out and get why don't
you Rabbi OS go get some wine and cake
and we're going to do everything here
right now wow so Rabbi pinka says well
you can use my private office in the
back of the theill store so the next
thing I know I'm sitting here with Rabbi
pesak cron I don't know who who this
gentleman is and he's doing what he has
to do and I said I didn't know what to
give him but I had this great chocolate
box of chocolate after I said do you
like chocolate yes I love chocolate I
said please have these great chocolates
so we walk out and the next thing I know
everybody it's busy Sunday morning
everybody's in the store and they're
gang around
dancing and then Rabbi OSHA said okay we
have to give to the Tommy his Hebrew
name so my mother said tuvi is going to
be your he Hebrew name so from that day
on I stopped being called Tommy and
Thomas that's it I have it on my license
but aside from that that's been put put
away
wow his Divine Providence happening to
be there at the time and doing the bris
and taking care of everything and
putting a Jewish name well Y and then
rabbitson young R called just and she
called RAB said where are you I said I'm
out you're not going to believe what's
going on I'm con is I'm Robie Pinkus is
TI in store Roby uh PESA cron just came
in Tommy's now tuvia he got his bris
he's getting his to fill in the rabbits
and par is this par shos who was born in
par shos MOS Reno what did his mother
call him tuvia she had many names but
that was the name his mother gave him
that's I said that's well that's really
interesting because this is when I'm
getting it right now pares and and what
was moshe's wife's
name that was his mother uh saora sapora
so that's right this was right after New
Year's Eve and I was dating a young lady
who was the assistant to the rebbit
not the same one that introduced me by
then that was done now I'm Da a new lady
and I took her out New Year's Eve and
what do you think her name was sabar
saura wow re assistant I'm thinking well
I'm getting my feeling I'm getting a
Hebrew name I'm I'm getting my bris and
they even gave me a wife wow amazing
this is unbelievable so my life has
actually been leading like that ever
since starting to become Observer wow
and that was the moment the rabbits I I
must say I must confess I guess for Lu
better words I know tovia for quite a
number of years coming to kazak events
and lectures and you know different
stuff we've even organized a few things
together I spoke for in your community
what was it
uh yeah yeah yeah yeah I never knew this
story this is like this is mindblowing
this is crazy this unbelievable very
inspiring I want you to know I have like
the chills like I'm trying to okay it
gets better it gets better it gets
better so the riton said you have to get
married your first marriage doesn't
count that's right because you have to
marry a Jewish girl and you and you have
to do the mitz of having children one
boy and one girl so now I start and how
old are you at the time sorry just
around 50
wow okay just around 50 now I'm divorced
for four years now and I I'd like to get
married I like to I like being married
um so I start the dating process which
wasn't easy because here I am coming out
of left field
and they want me to marry an observant
girl not not just any Jewish girl good
observant so my apartment I lived in the
upper Upper West Side was not there was
no kroot or anything I didn't really
know anything so I made a decision early
on that until I get remarried or get
married I'm not going to spend a shabus
or a Yan in my apartment I'm going to go
someplace I'm not going to be by myself
in the wrong place wrong community and
that's what happened I had a bag called
the blue shabas bag so the first shabas
was out by the young races Rabbi yosher
invited me to come out there and then I
met a gentleman named Steve Steve
Eisenberg I think you know his brother
lives out in the five towns so I called
Steve because I saw he was a leader for
an international group that did lots of
things together and lots of you know
suas and all so I called him I want to
introduce myself um I'd like to come and
join so he's telling me about this he
goes by the way how old are you I said
I'm I'm around 50 little he goes this is
for people in their 20s and 30s you're
too old for this sorry I can't help you
and we're talking he goes but maybe I
could help you do you ever go to shabas
meals I said well I've only been like
once or twice but I would love to go to
shabas meals he said great I'm going to
start sending you for shabas and you're
going to report back to me every time
you go and let me know how it was so
Steve Eisenberg started sending me to
these very well-known families on the
upper west side
and that was really the next level again
and after several months he goes okay
you've passed that test now I'm going to
send you out of Manhattan I'm send you
to M I'm sending you to a rabbi named
Rabbi Beni and katco who you know very
well of course Shabbat shabbat.com so I
get out to take a bus M tours up to Muny
never been to Muny before never ever
Muny and I walk into the rabbi's house
and they just have a baby and his wife
said do you like children I said I love
children he goes here have a baby I can
you help they have a big family his
shabas table I think set 80 people I've
never seen a t table that was phenomenal
shabas wow thank you Rabbi clco and
we've been friends ever since and he's a
very good friend of kazak and he speaks
to us all the time and he's definitely
an inspiration and uh tiia I got to tell
you you're very inspiring I I must say
now now many people watching and
listening to this um they're considering
to becoming observant you know that's
what kak does we we work with a lot of
people what message could you give over
to such an individual that's thinking of
making the turn find good people who are
committed to
you find people like yourself like the
rabbitson who really this is what they
do they want people to become observant
and they're trained in it and they have
much experience it's for me it's been
just a very clear pathway that Hashem
sent me the right people right from day
one and continues to every day send me
amazing people that that put me on this
journey powerful
100% friends and
friends always better to have two than
to one connect with others so many
organization so many good rabbis rabons
causes that are already willing able to
help uh is there any one personal story
that sticks out that strengthen your
belief in Hashem and God um there's more
than one story but one that sticks that
one this one's really at propo because
today is my father's
y first above oh so
we are pre-recording so so my uh so my
father passed away on in 2018 on Friday
morning it was the first above and my
sister called and she said dad passed
away I'd see him a couple weeks ago he
lived at this point not in Philadelphia
he lived in Bethesda Merlin and uh I
knew what that meant what did that mean
that my dad was going to be cremated and
his body would be donated to Medical
Science and that would be what would
happen so how did that occur well my
mother and father had made an
arrangement that they were both going to
be cremated oh wow so from the time I
met the rabbits and it sent me on
another journey to learn about cremation
and why Jews Buri and don't
cremate and I started doing a lot of
research and then I ended up getting
remarried moving to Brooklyn and I met a
rabbi Rabbi holsberg was one of my first
rabbis in Brooklyn and I was telling him
about this he said you need to meet a
gentleman named rabbi Zone from thead
Association right here in this area and
other people started mentioning his name
so I finally gave him a call we started
talking and uh he was coaching me I was
getting different people who coach me on
on how to speak to my father about not
getting created and had also speak to my
family about we
don't
very it didn't go very well for years I
was speaking with my family about that
not being created but that was what was
planned that was done everything the
will was taken care of so
that when I got that call and I
basically gave up because it wasn't
falling it was falling on death fs and
rabbis son said just have a relationship
with your family don't bring it up
anymore let whatever happens happens so
when he passed away I called him up and
uh I told he passed away and that he
goes what do I do he goes you don't do
anything I said okay he goes you don't
sit Shiva you don't rip your clothes you
don't say CSH you just go on now and
have a good shabas and they're like okay
W so later that evening um a local Rabbi
who you know Rabbi pearlson our dear
friend and his his rabbitson came by to
say hello see how are you're doing and
uh so I explained what happened and what
I was told and I said I and I'm not
saying CSH I'm not ripping my clothes
not saying sh and reinson said you're
not going to say Kish for your father I
said Noe I was told no ksh and she kept
saying you're not going to say kaj maybe
three or four times so it's just like
went into my brain that night the next
day there was a bar mitz Rabbi hburg SCH
and my friend had just lost his wife his
son was gting bar mitz so the two of us
just had a cryfest wow um and then
Sunday morning I woke up and for
whatever reason Hashem put me in my head
asked my sister I'd like to see the will
I never saw this will my parents will so
I called her up and she goes well I
haven't actually seen a few years let me
send it to you so she sent it to me I
said send to our other sister
too so I get that on Monday morning I'm
reading the will and there's nothing in
there about cremation oh wow or or
anything it was a will that was written
back in
1984 that my parents would be buried the
buried the estate would pay for it but
there I was told there was a change in
the will a few years before my father
passed away that I would not be involved
with the will or any of the decisions my
sister would be the trustee and she
would take care of everything so that's
what I knew so when I got that I called
up my wife I said right through this
will there's nothing about cremation
here so she asked me different questions
I'm going to like pretend that I'm the
judge test you to see if you could pass
this I she told me said I called up rway
Zone I told him the same thing he said I
want to test you to see if you were in
court what would happen so I'd already
been testify my wife so I passed and he
goes okay let's go find the body let's
go find the body so this is Monday
morning he passed away that Friday
morning 1 of of and uh he put together a
SWAT team starting in Philadelphia that
went into Maryland a rabbi named Rabbi
deid Kushner who really ran the SWAT
team in list I happened to know him
interesting I'm not surprised amazing
guy he was like Superman on the spot uh
he brought in the chief Rabbi from yeah
Chief Rabbi from Maryland and the head
of the kadua association ever kadua
Association in
Maryland and we were now on a hunt to
find the body wow so that night Monday
night my wife said why don't you call
your sister and ask her what's happening
where's the body so I called she going
the bed early and her husband said she
went to bed early and okay so I called
the next uh then my wife said why don't
you call him back and ask him where so I
said do you know where you put the bike
said I don't know I don't want to have
anything to do with this I'm a doctor
but this is you and your sister you take
care of this I said any idea goes well
maybe such and such a place so I call
such and such a place and they're not
giving me any information I kind of
smell like they know something so I said
to lady look lady I have information
that my Dad's here if you don't tell me
I'll be there tomorrow morning I'm
driving down from New York with the
police and I'll let them handle it so
either let someone tell me what's going
on or or I'll see you in the morning 10
minutes later I get a call from the
owner of this facility Mr soski don't
worry the rabbis were here they took
care of it everything's been taken care
of nothing happened to your dad no one
touched him and you can have him but you
have to have a release because your
sister's a
trustee so said to my wife I'm driving
down to Marl and this is Friday Tuesday
night so I called bra by his own I said
we found the body he goes oh we actually
found it this afternoon I said why
didn't anybody call me because we were
really busy but we we located the body
so it was just interesting that we've
been spend hours still looking and then
we both found the body um so the next
morning I get in the car I'm driving
down to Philadelphia and I asked my wife
is it all right I have to do whatever I
have can do it can be like Rambo she
goes do whatever you have to do I'm
driving on the Belt and uh parking lot
I'm stuck in traffic and my sister
called and she said how are you doing
great and she goes what did you do I
said what do you mean what I do she goes
what did you do I said about what about
that I said I didn't do anything she
goes well the whole thing got cancelled
your rabbis came in and they cancelled
everything and then it's silence I'm
just sitting in traffic and she said
whatat would you like I said I want our
father's body and to bury him that's it
nothing else
silence and then she says you can have
the body two conditions one you don't
sue me or anybody in the family I I'm
not interested in s any but I W fight
and two the burial plots Mom and Dad
have in that Cemetery we want them I
said not a problem you can have those
plots so she said I'm going to send you
an agreement to sign the agreement and
I'll do the release so I get the
agreement on Wednesday morning it's a
very long agreement I normally wouldn't
sign this kind of agreement my wife said
let's just sign the agreement we'll deal
with ramifications later sent it back to
my sister and we need to know by 3:00
release is done that we can get the B to
get the body so we can bury on Friday
before
noon so I S back it's 11 o'clock don't
hear anything 12:00 don't hear anything
1:00 people facilities are calling
different people David Kushner everybody
wants to know what's going on I don't
know it's
2:00 2:30 several people were on the
phone were waiting at
2:55 the facility says a fax is coming
in right now it's the release you can
have the body otherwise we have missed
the whole thing because the body had to
go from Maryland be cleaned and taken
care of t t and brought to Philadelphia
for burial by 12:00 noon on Friday
afternoon wow what a what a what a story
Rabbi D Kushner said tov meet you there
I'll take care of getting the body I'm
going to drive from Philadelphia
tomorrow I'm going to get you meet me at
the cemetery I'll arrange for a minia 10
men that I'll have a ccial burial I said
great I get a call from him 7 o'clock on
Friday morning to there's an issue i'
had be in the hospital one night one of
our our friends and family lost a child
and I couldn't go to Maryland except I
sent another team there they're getting
it you meet us at the
cemetery so
I'm driving down from New York and
there're different rabbis I'm friends
with very close friends in in Lakewood
I'm telling Rabbi Farber he's keeping
watch I said can you come I don't know I
don't know he never tells me if he's
coming or not but when he ended up
showing up was Rabbi Farber Rabbi
freedan who I stay with all the time
when I go to Lakewood Michael Balman
who's very well known like the three of
them came for the
burial and the other person from my
family was my wife's son who was Rabbi
in Dar with Rabbi vender he drove down
from Far Ro away nobody else from my
family was there plus the 10 men at
David Kushner so my dad had a proper
burial Proper jur Burial and when I was
driving down on New Jersey Turnpike I
have two of my peruses I used to learn
with in Manhattan one in Muny one in tck
and they're just we're on the conference
call tuy what do you think because
they've been hearing about this story
for a year how do you feel how do you
feel I said I'm happy join F and
grateful that I'm driving to go bury my
dad that's it nothing else happy joyful
and grateful and that's how I really
think about every day that I just want
to be happy joyful and grateful that I
became an observant Jew and I'm
connected to Hashem and connected to
people like you and hak and that we're
partnering up to do them more and more
to to rescue the Jews in America to
light them up like the rabbitson let me
up and that we bring them back because
there's maybe 10 15% of us observe in
America they thought 20 but not even
that there's so many people out there
like me who would love to learn but they
don't have a pathway so we have to keep
doing what we're doing we have to open
it up we have to bring different ways
for people to to be touch mve and
inspired like the rabbitson did with me
and you're a great person who does that
frequently so let's keep doing it
together you're an inspiration this is
amazing this is unbelievable and I have
a request for everyone in the world
that's watching or listening do
yourselves a favor and Inspire others be
mizak Inspire the masses send this to
your family your friends your neighbors
your co-workers that could use a little
bit of a boost because this is so wow so
inspiring so we have a custom in ha
Torah talk program a final message uh
for our broad audience final message is
is marry a good spouse whether you're
male or female find someone who's
serious about either growing or learning
wherever they are and match that up with
yourself so when my I was introduced to
many many women and I finally met the
woman I married from a big hus family
from bur Park in
Williamsburg and uh she's really my
spiritual life partner and at our
wedding the Ritson came Rabbi yosher
young race was the S
kadan but me the Ritson she put me on
the on the rocket ship it was my wife
that turbocharged it so it's my wife and
I are available we talk to lots of
people we want to help CL so she's
available for people that would like to
speak with her I'm available and uh we
just want to do more and more for
strengthening the Jews in America and cl
Israel amazing toia you're M LLY and
inspiration and uh like tovia mentioned
we have big plans we have big Visions
but uh it's not a one man show no no one
could do everything everybody could do
something it's a beautiful line no one
could do everything everybody could do
something so we need more of Army want
to build a bigger Army we want to get to
more involved with kazak he's very much
involved with even more and we need more
people to get involved there's a vision
of getting a global Unity event get
everyone together United inspired make a
difference change the world make the
world a better place so can I comment
what we're doing on that yeah please so
last night aired we're doing four
podcasts B

W to
educate people so we're having one
prominent Rabbi and one prominent
businessman every other Sunday we just

event at 2:00 in New York 9:00 in y of
which our objective is to have as many
Jews observant non-observant in between
light a candle light to unite light to

announcing that Jews are unifying here
in America to be one group together and
to fight it's right before October 7th
which was s which was a month it's it's
it's it's it's the week before and it's
really it's it's Sunday before rashash
