[Music] it's torah portion hashem puts in front of the jewish people the opportunity to choose between a blessing and a curse oftentimes we look at our life and we think we're faded we think that we're just on this path and everything's been decided for us and to a great extent it has where we are the people in our lives where we come from our genetic makeup all of that stuff we had absolutely no ability to choose but on the flip side in terms of the stuff that really matters hashem gives us the choice that we can live lives a blessing or we can live lives of curse and what's fascinating is that still with all of that we feel like we can't choose and we feel unempowered as a result and that's the most important piece of the whole torah which is for us to realize that we have a choice to live our lives the way that we want to live our lives to make our lives either into something that inspires us inspires others where people look and they're like this person is blessed or god forbid the alternative so what do we have to do we have to work really hard we have to think very carefully and we have to actively choose which direction our life takes
