Chaverim's Drone Unit

This is the future of Khasid, an infrared drone that finds missing persons at night. Khavarum here in Rockland County has an entire drone unit that helps them [music] assist them when there is a missing person. >> When someone is in distress, Khavarum are one of the first people [music] to arrive. Powered entirely by volunteers, they continually adopt the latest technology to better serve and protect [music] the community. >> We have drones going into the water actually. >> That's a water drone? >> Water drone. It has a [music] grabber if we found something we can go. It has a camera, infrared. Unfortunately, we had already a child >> [music] >> fall into the water. We couldn't find him. That was just like 30 minutes that we found him. It was actually in a Yom Tov. They jumped in and they found the kid. The kid is doing much better. It's 32 minutes [music] being in the water. He's alive. >> Wow. >> We didn't give up. >> What does this drone do versus the other drone? >> It could be longer up in the air. >> Ah. >> actually is a much bigger camera [music] and it's much >> Huge camera. >> It's a huge camera. The camera alone is $10,000. >> Oh, wow. >> You could make announcements, has a spotlight you can attach to this thing. >> Wow. Okay. >> Basically, it's a small chopper. >> Aside from drones, [music] they have a fully stocked warehouse with any equipment they may need for a search and rescue. >> You never know what's happening up there. If somebody's dehydrated [music] or somebody needs a broken ankle. >> We have EpiPen. We have Narcan. We have glucose. Hot packs, cold packs, burn gel, and all first [music] aid. >> The Lubavitcher Rebbe said that every tool can be used for good. Here at Khavarum, they're using the top of the line equipment to help the community. The drone unit is another example of how that they're doing that at the highest level.
