the special
now though people who were reading the
advertisement and they're not they
didn't grow up in
>> you have to ask
>> uh
at least someone got that so uh those
who read the uh the signs of the
so they're not sure what the name of
this particular Mura is called. So
they only saw the Hebrew poster, not the
English one.
It's a hard word to to know what that
is. But then they to help that they got
the sign in English. So they thought it
was a panel. So uh
panel
I see Rabitkin is here and I learned by
Rabitkin
just so you shouldn't think was wasting
time
and one of them is panels right. So this
not panel though. So, uh,
but this panel
they sell telephone
this can move on and uh of course
I don't know if you know when you listen
sometimes to Fabangans you hear speaking
in the hookups that's that's who's
speaking and you you see him here so he
has a big only we're not only mix up
here today
uh but the panel is about
Nissen is There's a hik
and a a leto
a just a very very special day
and you ask why I say it's a special day
I'm sure
here will speak about that also
was the rebba
once told somebody that when you're here
and you're spending some time you have
to take back with you some gashmas and
from
and uh this is Rabbi Rabbi Lu Rab's
story. So we lean a you have to keep
track in the audience here what he has
to tell that's going to be one of the
things we're going to put some of his
nud is here together and uh it's a
special day foridan special day it
always was
so one of the things that in the later
years of I say the later
from from the the the early lit from the
rebba's 70th birthday from was really 69
was the union of the negim we'll talk
about that we'll speak a little bit more
about how the fact that was to negim
of his
even in earlier years when it wasn't yet
popular and it wasn't yet uh an official
for the year on the cap just like
the de wrote uh sometimes a word or a
pekk from his cap when he wrote it in
the either a mik of k or in a telegram
something the Reb quoted from the but
there were times that there were times
that the Reb also had them sing that
already existed the famous ones of
course are
and he will tell us also about about
etc. But to begin, we have with us here
today somebody who has this nifla to
having had composed
several of the nigunim which became the
official nunim of the of that year. And
just to before I call him up to share
with us uh some of his special
reflections on this I want to mention
that in in in from the inms
the Reb's niggan
was always the first niggan that was
sung by Fabangan when the Reb came in to
Fabangan
uh they would some sing something else
but then it was quiet because the on a
weekday Fabangin they never always said
first right away when he sat down before
he even made
and or
the made kesh first andor made
etc. And after the drank from the wine
the rebned and they would always start
to sing the ngan of that year that was
the same by every faban whether it was
miz whatever it was. So we have with us
now today two two young who have that
great privilege. First I would like to
call uponat
well-known Balmanagen who has this who
will share with us some reflections on
the rebunim followed by
Okay.
Good English.
Okay.

No.
Yeah, this is Allah.
for
the relationship with
U. Um,
I guess problem
for
again
before we get to the mentioned now in
the end uh really from that year which
was talking about there were several and
we'll be fabing later on uh not here.
But uh he was I believe also one of the
first that were that took sukim and they
added it to existing nigunim. Well like
like and to the extent that that that
that the next year after uh that year
they they added they use the same they
recycled
right.
So then later they started with the
unique. So it's my privilege, pleasure
and honor to call upon
who also was
uh a very well-known famous niggan for
another occasion.
And uh I also had if we reminisce when I
see him I I had a place by the fabangan
which really geographically was very
close to the
fight but there was really not a but was
the other side of the table there cuz I
was but after the I used to sort of
climb out. He was always nice enough to
make some room so I could get up and not
be cuz I was sitting I used to sit
immediately to the Reb's to the deb's
left. Right. uh I'm not going to
describe it now because that's
but uh after that I used to come so we
used to stand together a little bit so
that that it brings me back to something
very special without further ado
thank you so much briefly I want to take
you back to how it all began and
honestly when I was asked to speak here.
I had a little bit of a dilemma. Dilemma
being
today the ba that witnesses that reads
that hears.
So the Indian of the niggan
takes like a very important place
for me to come and speak about it. I
felt that I have to be careful not to
blow it up more than what it is. Of
course, not to minimize it as well.
But the niggan
is this is the tool. This is the handle.
This is a connector
to this big day and throughout the
entire year to the capital. Of course,
it has a very important place.
But when I
present it and speak about it, I felt
that I have to be careful not to blow it
up more than what it should be. Having
said that, let's go back a little bit.
Like Abshalam said in his childhood
there was a little bit of object
that we make nigunim today. I remember
at Hifa where while I work in Safus
somebody came up a number of years ago
few years ago and he asked me I'm sorry
if I may ask you I overheard your name
fight 11. the fight 11 that did this and
this niggan is he related to you like he
must be like a grandfather or elto I
told him no I'm I'm here I'm facing just
to say yes
it was something that in my childhood as
well was unheard of and here is how it
all started
uh from a very young age I discovered
that I was given a talent
by
And I used it. I started composing. Love
could be songs and some of them are
recorded by now on CDs that we gave out
at SIM.
And
then
I said to myself, why not do something
with it for us? I always read and heard
this niggan came from this. This niggan
came from this. this composed by
that etc etc I said so why don't we hear
today
back then that anyone from our time
composes
and of course when I started to speak
about it in bona ah
who are you okay but then when I came
here
more and more I discovered that this was
at all not the way that the Reb was
thinking of.
I understood a little bit
and I understood that we do matter. Yes,
we are algaban
but we are who who we are otherwise
the wouldn't be saying and giving us all
the etc. So again it started more and
more to battle like why not
at that time like Robert Feller said we
used to spend some time together out of
fangan since I was part of the
which took me every shabas to house
after there was a foban to kazangan etc
etc
so I started to ask him about it is it
is halton that we should make a niggan
So he was all for it. He said if you
feel that you have a talent you can do
it do it. But then there were a number
of among them some of them that were
mentioned before as well that were in
Gans kingdom say
it's on it's being recorded. I'm not
going to say the exact quote, but
a young man is thinking of himself.
And argued
if it's something that brings let's try
and see
back and forth back and forth and at le
was was made and we made a recording.
Rabian Hazan then did
singing if I remember correctly
and it took off
and since then like they say the rest is
history. Since then it became like
Abalam said a number of years later more
and more people came on board
and then as we all know
there was a VA established because
some groups came and every group
represented and campaigned for
anyway uh just one I want to bring out
personally I never heard anything
personal from the Reb about this Indian
came to make a disclaimer. Uh few days
ago something was printed.
I received an answer a written answer of
the Reb about the niggan and the answer
is printed.
So I want to make sure that it is known
that I did not receive that answer or
any answer. I did receive the answers
when I gave out like said like when when
I gave in a tape with I always got
you know like it was in those days the
standard answers that everyone that you
received when you gave something in if
wished to answer. So those answers I
received but the answer that was printed
that I received and I was very moved by
it etc etc the whole thing around it
wasn't to me I did speak to the people
in charge of it I believe it was an
answer sent token I'm not sure because
he also made an ignant that that year I
can't say let him find out and make the
correction but I feel It's my
responsibility to say in public that it
wasn't to me and as mira
I said or I feel or I had this feeling
and that heresy
no one called me no one asked me so I've
doubted somebody knows me so well to
know what I was feeling in all those
those years however back to to the topic
what is the makeup of aid
So the Reb said himself and I'll be
extremely brief. I believe this was the
only mention that I know to the Indian
of making new
in
when the Reb said as
that was also printed there
was
So this is a little bit of an indication
what is
when is composed and is accepted and
sing it. So then it becomes
soidim
today have different styles of singing
today are influenced by different styles
and they come from different
backgrounds. So if they compose an from
such a background
so maybe it's also could be considered
but this is not the
has to be
based on what it always was
when we see it as a vad and I'm not
always I'm not stamped labeled as vad
because I compose as Well, and the rule
is when you compose, you can't be a
judge, which is obvious. This year,
let's say I did not compose. So, I took
part in the
decision making, which by the way,
those that tried to break that did not
were not did not have to be to succeed
to break up
So when we sit we hear a lot of everyone
means well everyone expresses his
but we want to hear something which is
and this has to be number on with the
words with the content with the meaning
of the words the tenues have to express
something as a composer I can tell you
sometimes especially as a young man I
get an inspiration
whether it is from thinking whether it
is from playing whether it is from
singing whether it is by and different
times right we have different times that
we get inspired
say Yes. And we get a piece of a
makes sense. It's nice. But then you
need to make a beginning an ending and
sometime
sometimes young people don't have the
patience to put in the effort. So you
make something whether he is or not and
sometimes this is what breaks that this
whole niggan cannot be something
considered because there is a part which
doesn't make sense and really one needs
a lot of patience to go over what he his
idea and make it better and better like
I know especially those that were
accepted I have a hav Rab konovo who
always was instrumental in fixing up in
in doing a little bit and a or a lot of
work to make sure that the niggans
properly.
So it's not something that just happens.
So when we're looking for to make a
decision on a niggan really every part
of the niggan has to express something
has to mean something has to say
something.
So it expresses something and it has to
be in connection with a capital really
that makes sense.
So in conclusion,
the vote is about composing
a niggan a nigunim in general and
nigunim for capitl. Whoever feels that
he has that talent should definitely
develop it. at the same time get a
little bit of mentoring
from senior people that can guide a
little bit in
it's you hear young guys in Galite or
Bim that have the talent but they don't
have the patience or the vision of
exactly how to go about it. So someone
that has it definitely develop it and
take it to the level where we can make
that's something which is extremely
important but as I said but remember the
n is only the tool and the handle to
which we connect with this special day
to follow
let's hope that
Thank you very much.
especially in different
and and
the we were left with there was
afterwards also they were saying but not
by of course the of and the
it wasn't part of the original part of
the but the last of
that that made it they should sing it
over again and again that
it's a it's also
So
we speak about it sometimes also in the
we speak about
anyway uh
I can't get anyway uh I didn't know
everyone was that well versed in the
services that you once a year. But
anyway, uh
etc., etc. But this is an that already
spoke about. It's the
pen of the of the soul, the heart, etc.
So a big now to speak a little bit more
about
we have with us a great and the first
one I'm going to call upon really is aid
who actually grew up with the he was um
from when he was a little boy and uh he
was also uh father was not only very
active in the yeshiva but was also a
gaba in 770 etc. Sov himself was a very
popular
uh person. He was always in 770 etc. to
the extent that that he he was known
very dearly to everybody. He was very
very famous but was there to experience
uh so much throughout the years of the
nas and and
himself became the and had many etc. So
without further ado because doesn't
doesn't like to hear I'd like to call
upon and at this point we start the
cats and the panel of a panel means that
this is a that's where there are
microphones here also. So, Rabbi
Minkitz, Rav Minkitz, if you want to
interject also about the microphone
here, Rabbi Lou also will share it and
uh from there we're going to start with
Rabbi Katz who's going to uh be sharing
with us. He's going to talk primarily
about
but he'll also mention the earlier years
a little bit more also and then and the
and then we'll go we'll continue with
the lids and then we have is going to
share with us also something special
about
so without further ado
uh
cats
everybody
thank you so much for this beautiful
introduction.
Oh,
interesting.
The firstb
was alsan.
The Rebba set a
in his in his room and the Reb gave out
prior to that a list of people that will
be called for the
selected group of people that went into
the and heard the
years later there was no
until
which that was
Reb walked into the fabbran
holding at that time the first volume of
was printed and the Reb came in holding
the first volume of
and together with it also aime which
begins
a
frontb for the entire
In that there was also something very
special which is very very rare that the
Reb said two that
one
that began with
and another
but why did
this was a response
to the who at that time was still behind
the iron curtain and there was no
communication of mail or any other types
of communications phones
and the responded to them publicly
by saying
very interesting and many many years
later
when the was sending
to Australia to Melbourne Australia
We have Rabbi Minkovitz he was had to be
one of the and I'm sure he'll fill us in
with many many more interesting details
but
in one of the years
of who was involved of the yeshiva in
Melbourne asked the
bim should leave here before
and arrive to Australia before pes and
theb writes back to him did accept it.
Theb writes back to him, what does he
see a reason and a to leave here before?
So
even though we know that the rebba
always
would answer many many answers printed
that pes what one has to celebrate with
his family and be home but teaches us
it's no contradiction you'll be home for
pes on time but at the same time where
do we belong
From Niss
we step into PES
could sit and talk for hours and hours
describing
many angles of what happened here.
First of all, we have the Zag and
the Reb gave out his first
came out before but something
and the Rabbi came out with a pirod
and we know how this pir what develop
there's a phenomenal article written by
Ra Ze on the greatness of the reb
the expressions on the greatness but the
fact is that the hagod is something
fascinating which in the world there's
so many hagod
is probably the only safer which was
reprinted so many times in Jewish
history but at the same time this is
something out of the ordinary when we're
talking about the sagod the rabb Notice
how good the fact I found this
afternoon. This is the the edition of
Tshin first edition. Second edition came
out in
it has additions which do not appear in
the first
in each one.
>> Okay.
>> It was Yeah.
So in the
there are
which are printed on the inside on the
inside of the cover and then on the back
of the cover. Theb did not insert it did
not change the format of the as it came
out in tough and when things were added
was added on the front and on the back
and something which is sure many of you
know it but it's definitely worthwhile
to mention
the brings there from
that
told the
that when you go to open the door for
so the told the called him by his name
by his first name and told him
was it
the told the
he should not publicize this what he's
telling
If we look through the secret of the
you will not find
say take
which is all in one volume and you'll
turn to the
you will not find the
which relates to is
but
the Reb is we find it and it's in the
and the Reb writes in the
said it but he didn't say it at he said
it to the
said it to theb and he tells him that
when my father told me when told to the
he told me that I shouldn't publicize
and I'm telling you the same
but the
rebba loves each one of us and anything
the rebba could treat us to he treats
The Reb did not keep it as a secret
and the Reb revealed it by printing it
in the top of Giml edition
of
reminds me a
reminds me
famous story which the Reb spoke about
who went to help
a lady that has just given Earth
uses the expression he went to make a
yel a ya probably means a soup or some
sort of a dish to treat to make sure
that that lady who everybody wasn't sure
this was him kippa everybody wasn't sure
and nobody thought of going to prepare
food for this lonely woman was has just
given birth
and it was the
himself that went to prepare it and make
it and when theb
says also that this story was obviously
kept kept as a secret.
So
the anytime he had something which
wasn't which wasn't published and wasn't
known, the Reb always treated us
treated us and we should use it. It's
of especially when we're talking about
it on such a special day as today
which relates to the PB
throughout the entire spoke about it
later there was always a
second night of P the Reb would always
speak about
saying the aloud saying
and saying
I think the
that's how it's supposed to be said
but
on the second floor of 770
there was a ye that would come every
pesank
cats cats he lived in Chicago and did
not miss not a pes
and not a and not a sukus but a reb
He was an in the sense of very very
real
and and he would say the loud and
and like I said it was a so there were
many many mistakes in the of the really
used to have a good laugh on it later
that there were even times when theb
would smile on certain pronunc
pronunciations how we made them in the
Hagod.
Anyways,
he was the
the or word we should use for saying to
God and his son his son Heshi Heshi of
it's worth
and he would ask to fear cases he would
ask to fear cashes actually like he's
asking his father but he said it loud
and everybody listen to him asking to
feel cash.
He was a bin. He has he has a sister
sister in Maryland
and
his father like I said was a very very
he had his hum
he wouldn't ride on yont he wouldn't
write on yont he wouldn't go into the
elevator
I'm sorry thank you thank he didn't he
didn't even use the elevator in 770 he
didn't use either
Yes. Exactly. Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah. He would go next.
Interesting. In the very early years of
the ms
like the
labage,
he took a checkbook,
signed the entire checkbook, did not
fill in any amount or any date, took
this checkbook and sent it into the Reb.
So that the Reb should make the decision
what amount to fill into this sh and the
that every before he would theb would go
to the
would call the bank of cats ask him if
he has anything special that the Reb
wants he should mention at the
at the same time the Reb told him the
amount which the check is going to be
filled out for.
He had some sort of a friendship with my
father.
So every he would come for a meal to our
house. I remember it
after M like would be 3:15 like around
20 to 44 to 4 he would show up.
I remember hearing something very
interesting with I don't think that it's
and he told us that he heard this and
which he had with that giving
whether it was right before
it was
and
he complained to the
that his son Hashi is into a stamp
collection.
and the club licked them in his stamp
collection and he's not and he's not up
to his stud. He's doing well in in day
school where he went to Inishiva
in in Chicago and that the Reb told him
that he should not interfere with his
son's stamp collection and the Reb tells
him
stamp collection
when theb left his parents
I left it there and my mother told me
later
that they sold the stamps. The Reb's
parents sold the stamps and she had they
had to they had to live from this money
for six months from the money of the
stamps. I heard it from I was a young
child, a young kid, but I remember
hearing it authentically and he heard it
from the Reb. It was either that very
same day or a day before or two days
before. It wasn't it wasn't much. It
wasn't this was the m the told it to him
and I I heard it from him a few days
later.
I think I have to share some time with
my so
>> not my cat
was up there but he ask me if he spoken
the other
also will share with us the
I really supposed to give an
introduction Ra
and but he's also he's also
seek out from all over the world
and etc. But who also is there is a
finger community in place called Peach
Creek City, Georgia. Significance of
that I'll allow for a different
over here. So I'll say
and um
we also
There was one there was one
on the second night of P in all the
years till and
it was already after the and you don't
eat after the you don't drink after the
so the faban was dry with nothing on the
table nothing to eat nothing to drink
and not only that but after f crisis of
wine
I would say about 85% of the people over
there were quite uh high. Um and and
then they ended up
>> they told me that back there was coats
and people were laying at the coats.
>> I don't understand where the coats were
but somewhere they were the coats were
near the sinks. Near the sinks
>> near the sink near the sink. It was a
coat like a coat racks. But uh and the
Reb would fab
when the Reb fabang the Reb had his eyes
open and when the Reb said the mimer,
the Reb would close his eyes and the MA
with a with a niggan. But in this fab
and the Reb said the also with the eyes
closed and the Reb said that everybody
was uh
they looked very much after a seda and
those who were sitting could not control
themselves. So the Reb himself most of
the duration of the Fabenan had his eyes
closed. So you could just imagine what
the scene was like and the second night
of People who were standing was it's
hard to sleep when you stand and went in
about 4:00 in the morning. So this was
uh you know
>> who started stay after the
>> who started what the stay after.
>> All right. So um basically it it seems
that the Reb replaced the second pesan
with
but because
started in a aud
which was the year after the last second
night of Pes the second night of Pesba
would be of course in upstairs in 770
that's where the seda was then he would
come down after the seder and have the
faban. Now that the Reb was home, he was
home. So the
was really on. But that's not quite
true. And the reason is because
every single year there is not a year
that from
not one year that the Reb did not make
some kind of a reference to Nissen and
he did that by saying a mimer either the
Shabas before Pes Shabas or the Shabas
after Pes I'm sorry or the Shabas after
Yal Nissen or on Pesak itself the second
night of Pes or Pes or sometimes all in
all the Shabas before Shabas after Pes
the Reb spoke and would be the a from
that year. How important was the sukim?
Well, first of all, as Rabbi Kat said
before that the Reb said the
which was part of the capital of that
year, but there were other references
for example and Rabbi Fella made
reference to this before.
It was
bay
and
capital B has in it the niggan. Anybody
know
beautiful old ancient song from
and at the end of the
Reb said
the whole has passed and I thought
somebody would to sing this niggan and
he turned to Rabbi Krinsky and he told
Rabbi Krinsky the one who who who drives
me to the ten of the he should sing this
start this niggan That's what happened.
Now my grandfather
Jaffa
loved that niggan akin that was his
favorite niggan when he was passing
away. He passed away right when we
finished singing that niggan to him. It
was uh really special to him and he went
over to some of the Mali monogam who
were starting the nigun in that pan and
he said to them I would suggest perhaps
you should sing this niggan and they
said what are you talking about I sing
this niggan
he said well it's from the and they said
we don't sing such we sing more you know
others it's not this is more
and the said I waited the whole
they should sing that niggan So the reb
was on
catch that of course we know that they
should sing his niggan and Rabbi Fella
said before that when the nigunim
started which we'll talk about in a
second when the nigunim did start they
would sing that niggan every on the
shabas fabans that would be the niggan
which would with which they would start
the reb would make kdesh and as soon as
the rebba finished drinking r uh they
would start this niggan the reb
What Rabbi Fellow didn't say was that by
hakus after the Reb's haka when he came
back to his place always the second haka
was always the reban on both nights was
the reban that was the the seda
the rebba
didn't really have a niggan every year
but in tin lmed I remember this very
well in tin lmed around time not around
time some of the bakim
put together the
and um
what did I say? I'm sorry.
And they sang
was
and no was in
Alf was
B was
al
was Bin
was was alf and was
so So,
the end of
and they put the these words to uh
a common a Jewish uh you know song and
by the way we have a kabad house and we
used to sing alas or whatever you want
they know man and they know Duo that's
all Jews know that song so Denu and all
of a sudden it came into labs and uh
become We don't even realize it that
it's the it's a
and the reb when they sang it upstairs
in when in the second floor of 770 when
the reb was having the meals the suda
some of the one of the bam I think might
have sang it somebody sang it and the
reb said that he liked that he he
appreciated it and then um throughout
the year from then till niss The Reb
sang Kim many times. Reb stood to dance
by Kim and you know since then which
became one of our
this was the really paid attention to
that
there was
and then
the four were made and then every year a
niggan was made.
I want to talk about though not just the
niggan because we everybody talks about
the niggan which was very exciting.
Every year was an excitement and every
year was something new and we sang it
all the time throughout the the entire
year. But I want to talk a little bit
about the fabans themselves and
I want to start with lammed because I
was given the mems to talk about. So I
go back to lamres. I'll go back to other
years in a minute but
was a very special year as we all know
that year
um the whole seda changed and
was the first time the reb came actually
downstairs to the Reb spoke said all one
after the other spent hours at times but
to come downstairs the first time the
reb came downstairs was on to FBI was
very short was wasn't more than 3 hours
those days the lad was a Thursday night
went on for six seven hours so have a
fab for two and a half hours was very
short but the faban was unbelievable and
it hadn't happened since
so that was a very big big year on
of
there was a fabbran short faban
and then at the end of the faban After
the Reb said the
Reb out of the blue all of a sudden said
just like that.
You can listen to it. It is unbelievable
that those three words the way the Reb
said it the Reb made in a niggan like
that was unbelievable
and only on
another thing happened in
because the because
the rebang again on Gimliss that yearn
the reb started the Fbrangan with a
mimemer and right After the Reb started
the next the first by saying that
we usually talk in Indian as if we're
now continuing the fab
and the every year on gimmel until Zion
except for meal and meal the was the
same year the same as this year. So
there was the shabas and then Sunday was
a gimlness and shabas giml was also the
same as this year and the rebang shabas
z the fabang also shabas in addition to
shabas but a dollar did not on the
shabas
but every year there was agim faban and
thegim fabans were actually
type of what do I mean
in tin in Alf was the first year the Reb
that year the Reb said
which you know if you have to talk about
the Reb's the ones that you really know
or the ones that really demonstrate the
talk about a couple of others but
goes in that category that's the the
where the Reb talks about the med that
says that the
he was the one who says no mal I want to
take the king I I marry the king I don't
care about the and the all these other
people are very important but nothing
nothing is more important than the mel
that is the m of since then the became
an official time of the faban so the it
went on the radio there were fabas that
were on the radio those days before the
videos came along which fabangas were on
the radioisatim
yniss yamos and those were called they
in the in the inabish they were known as
the big fabans because you can be sure
that there would be a faban every single
year on those days. The other days there
were sudden vibration of when things
were on the radio, the Reb was
restricted if you to topics that people
who are listening who are not
necessarily familiar with with
and all of that um they weren't familiar
spoke stuck to different topics for
example meal
purim was on Sunday that Shabas Shabmini
St. K is this year the Reb said the very
famous of
And the Reb said that what I'm about to
say is talking about it on but on Puddin
things are open to other people and it
goes it streams out to to on the radio
and who knows there'll be people who
will not who only hear the question or
only hear the story and won't hear the
answer and they'll know about and they
won't understand what what happened over
there. So the reb was limited to what he
could talk about on the radio. So Nissen
fell into the same category that Gimliss
now that was Niss that was an always a
very pious
lots of
beautiful and very very leicb was in
those times on on
and we'll talk about those as we move on
over was the first year
not just on but also the truth
was 100 years after but that was an it
didn't continue until when every
lick
thing happened at the end of the
said that they should sing ka
kata of course is a pes but before they
managed to start before managed to start
singing the reb himself went kay
he said that she sing it then he started
singing it himself within about 30
seconds the reb started clapping kaya
you know usually sing nice and slow the
slow niggan it's a serious niggan and
you sing it
you sing it in hollow it's not one of
these happy songs you listen to the
audio of this less and the reb was
clapping and the was really responded to
that very unusual almost sounds like
They're all surprised and it goes a few
times
a few times to sing it over. Then the
Reb says a
after the
Reb usually sang a niggan before he left
the Reb started to sing kaya before he
left. But when he sang ka you listen to
the audio the Reb broke down and cried
while he starts singing kayata.
That is unbelievable. Listen to that to
the end of that faban kayes
tin men
was um
was a similar kus to this year and the
um
the night of
the reb came back reb went to the on reb
came back from the and he asked if they
can if he can go downstairs for
night
And they said that the the school was
closed. They were they were cleaning it
out for Pes. They couldn't set it up. So
after Maidv
they uh the Reb sat down in on his
weekday place. They brought a microphone
in because the doors were were closed by
the tis but upstairs the doors would be
closed. Opened up the doors and the Reb
said ah that was really the beginning of
the Hashem Hashem happened in Tish 6
months later. But then the Reb started a
major stom about children moatza ball
contest they made and he asked that not
of pes he asked that there should be a
big stom with kids
that
after the rebik also asking that there
should be a to bring children to and all
of that
one
it was
I remember.
>> Hold on. Hold on. There was not lame was
not.
Hold on. Hold on. Hold on.
>> Hold on. I'm getting to it.
>> All questions are at the end of the
session. Now, the next year was alf and
me
was on Shabas. That was the only year by
the way that the Reb on the Shabas Pes
and he couldn't you can't drink wine on
Pes. So the Reb had water and you can't
have and you can't have matzah. So the
Reb had bananas on us. He can't
he can't have had bananas and he had
water. And then after the first theb
said what's thema of me sitting here
with with only I'm the one who's able to
eat. No one else is eating. So he wants
to give out the pers. But if he gave out
the the three or four bananas that were
on the table it wouldn't be he said even
if he broke it to the smallest pieces
that wouldn't be enough for everybody.
So he gave it to the
he should eat it on behalf of everyone
else. So there should be someone else is
eating some food. But me before that
that was Shabas before that
on Tuesday night. So that was early I'm
sorry on Monday night early Monday
night.
I'm sorry on Tuesday night early was on
Wednesday. The Reban on Tuesday night
towards the end of that faban after the
mimer the Reb came out with the mitzvah
of safety for the children and the Reb
gave all the and the and the clawing has
to be in the on the can't come out of
the old city of lion and how to make the
certificate and he gave every single
detail um for that s the next day was
on Wednesday the Reb comes back and that
night another early gimmel
I'm sorry B Wednesday night and the reb
the entire fab was all about the nothing
has been done it's been 24 hours what
has been done the entire except for the
was about the
and then the next night
the only time that the ever by night was
that night the truth is that was mim
because it was Thursday night and and
Pes was asked still
was the only time that was in three
fabans three nights in a row for the and
all about the of the children was very
very to the that was six months after
establishing
me
the next year was we just heard before
from 51 that Uh the new niggan was made.
New niggan. The new niggan was such an
unbelievable excitement. He he was he
was ma to how what enthusiasm there was
about that niggan and um something
completely
happened.
We all know about the
very famous here but
and the was
of
Anybody
what's wrong with that? He didn't say
now
there was also
very unusual that's melt
in a strong as a told the story of a man
who was on the yacht and he asked to and
he talked to the person and it had a
very strong impact on that person.
Mandalud was of course um
uh the the uh um Tanyas again me
in the of the second of wasam that year
the first but in that second the said
strange that a person should be sitting
and talking about his own birthday and
so the reb said when he was in they told
a story of a who had a very position in
a big city but he was a short guy very a
little guy and so they said that the
claer he was talking a short person but
he occupied a gra
so the reb was basically saying that in
labavage that uh it's not about him it's
more about the benal and the benal is a
big benal the chair is a big chair
interestingly that was the last time the
reb on ydal niss because in mev yniss
was on Sunday me niss was on Friday and
the reb said he's fing on shabas ydf
niss can never fall on a shabas. So
there was never on the actual day of
after tismas that was it. There was no
more weekly. That was the last time
there.
Just one more point about the gimmel and
the gimmel
in meiml
and again inshin
giml the rebb said at the end of the
after and after all of that the rebb
said they should sing. In fact in fact
the Reb himself started that somehow the
Reb whistled almost every single time
the asked to whistle doing Allah and
then the Reb started bouncing around
Mish making you know really heavy and
singing with and me hey on your gimm it
was unbelievable much more than that you
hear the pushet screaming you hear
singing with and like the olden days
really really really heavily into it
that was bali the the the um theme of
you know did giml was let's go guys come
on you know this was like more personal
you know
type of u type of feeling and z the rebb
said that there should be a new the new
uh neighborhood in line theb set up then
in zion but there was no then
the said
so started
which was after was over the Allah and
turned right away around to to the
whistle and then the hand and then the
concertb loved that niggan because it
has a it has a lot of eyes in it a lot
of stom in it and the Reb wanted us to
stom and make the feel feel feel feel
feel feel feel feel feel feel feel feel
feel feel feel feel feel the enthusiasm
and the and the uh and the inspiration.
So we should go out and there should be
should be it should be much more much
more and much more than we should be to
be able to
together with the take it from just one
more point I forgot one thing
said the mataz why was that unusual well
first of all the rebba had stopped a
mime with a niggan for two and a half
years. The last time before that was
and this is
secondly the Reb stopped saying
in me was only Shabas and after Shabash
there was no more until
that was totally unusual. I remember
going upstairs afterwards to the hanus
and Rabiel was there and he couldn't
contain himself with from he was he was
bubbling over and um so I said to
think you know why why this night
why was this
HE SAID
it was all one
that was the Nissen Gilly for that year.
Sometimes it happened on Nissen.
Sometimes it happened on Yimniss. But Le
the whole week
is the Reb's father's birthday
all of this is all connected to so that
before starts we should already be able
to
together with the Reb take from
and
there was a different
so it's homework for the boys to look up
I don't know for sure
but another thing is that a lot of bram
so saw that it wasn't memor
and they made a and the yeshiv that
should learn the contm that were coming
out we know today as the memorial the
memorial and after each one came out
went to the Reb with a mount of Bram
from every yeshiva that learned the Bal
and there was a few times today in he's
today in England leads England he got
twice an answer and he wrote these
very I don't I don't have it in front of
me so I'm not going to say it but there
was a a
from
but what I do want to add is that one at
one time Rabbi Klein said Yeah, you got
an answer in this. He says, "Don't
worry, you're going to get an answer."
That was a little bit before that. And
and some people say that because the saw
there was such a in learning about
that those that said that that was also
an answer on those that were increasing
amount of learning about so
this without further ado it's my
privilege pleasure and honor to askit
to be and I see over there
too he's going to be talk about pes and
there's a lot of stories
>> and uh and uh without further ado
also experienced this many many things
firsthand. So it's a big for us to hear
it and uh it's always a big beginning to
hear Rik.
>> It's not it's like you're there. It's
not just like
you could be there if you right now that
every writes feel your right you could
be at a place if you close your eyes you
could be there he's going to take you
there right now first
is tomorrow we start saying so that's a
special
the coming of
also Soishim.
So then from England was there and he
got up and he sang on the capital
from England
not the regular
was
and he got up and he sang. This is also
what mentioned before about the hagodis
that was printed the first the firstb
made and the name was there
later it came out again it came out
again and it came out what he sus and
then it came out again as was mentioned
before this is what the hagod looked
like so today it's hard to get these had
to this is the
The Reb had this at the I remember and I
remember also you see the red letters
over here they gave the Reb an addition
the red letters are put on later. So at
the sedb had the hag without the letters
just said the word was printed that's
but the the red letters were not the
those days the print had to put it
through the machine
double process
and also
in those days
the computer age and the type setting
etc won't go into the difficulties of
printing in those days. So the god
looked like this which means the right
page was a page from the directly a
photo offset photo copy of the reburim
were always on the left side except
sometimes it added up like over here. So
there was a lot of burim which went two
pages across and then the next page
again was on the right side and the left
side. Now it's obviously the Reb didn't
write his pirushim exactly mak to the
amount of words that are on the right
side. So many times it went over it. In
other words, if you had to look for
something here, it would could be on the
next page or on the previous page
because it was a full page here and a
full page there. So it's very very
difficult bish to say that if you wanted
to follow what was going on, it was a
difficult thing. We'll get to that in a
second. But
there was a surface that came out that
came out like this hashmote. The
original hagod was a page here. When it
came out, whatever wanted to add. Today
it's just with a computer. You just uh
enter it where you want and the page
moves up. Those days everything stayed
the same. So the original pages pages
anything that was added later was added
over here. And also by the last page it
says
The over here was added a number of
pages at the end at the end. And then
was added a whole page over here. And
every single thing that was added had to
do with the
starting
was in the first.
So was specifically no direct
but was put in specifically. If you
don't understand
I'll just mention
this year they asked me to speak about
the I gave a a PowerPoint presentation I
gave and I mentioned
as
you understand what's
that
we
And you have a h you have the rooster
twisting around your head and the horn
is looking into the together with you.
So the that's how much we understood
being about the around the so anything
we say I just tell you what it is and
everybody can learn themselves but in
the in the edition the Reb added an
amazing thing that's printed over here
and the Reb added from
your Niss
and was printed also say in the came out
It came out in that and it says there
to add the his and one of the was the
the was also the of
test. Now there was no fab in your alfn
test. It was a yeas that Reb had. And
the last that Reb had by the Alf.
All right. Kazanovski in any case the
he was told that not to
always okay
that had also the lastb
mentions over there
that is given overb
it's given overb and and that's part is
printed over here also
had a good
uh since the I got the look this way. So
Giml which was the sem of Hashim
I was done in Kel finishing off second
year in ca and we're also involved then
in the printing etc. So we decided to
give him to the hagod but the hagod
should be a hag where properly meaning
they should be able to find the things
that every page should have the
directly to that page. So some pages
have to be smaller of some pages have to
be bigger etc. And uh some problems came
around that the size a technical thing
the size of this the width of this page
is not the same as with this page. This
page is wider.
So even that was the asked the Reb and
the Reb didn't say to enlarge the page.
Leave the page as is. And in order that
it should look
the Reb said to add a frame to add a
frame. This is the uh this aod that we
all have today. Everybody knows this a
it's been reprinted many many times. So
this is the first time it was printed in
such a way. So you can see the bur over
here and over here it's a a shorter
page. It's longer and the said to make
kid which is like a frame to the and the
even chose it. There was a few frames
given in the Reb chose this frame to to
make this frame. Once it was made, we
added all the which actually which I did
some most of the job. We had to find all
the letters
and the and letters before came out to
dig up a lot of letters. We went
to learn the
uncle used to learn the
and he had later he gave it into the Reb
and the Reb answered. So he had Mish
little set from the Reb. So we added
them on the bottom of the letters it
might say he saw and that's where it
comes from that comes from the answers
that were given mostly and then all the
other things that came that came to our
possession some some
letters at that time that was somehow
received or uh reached us from
there only now we have two letters then
we only had one we had printed one
letter And in any case, this is the
safer that came out
when it was brought into the Reb brought
into the Reb. And the Reb was very very
happy. So finally a safer that is
that you can actually find the directly
on the page and the Reb opened up. I
heard this from he said the Reb looked
at this page the front page and the Reb
looked at the last page. The last page
finished off with
who's etc.
makes the was crying a lot.
And the gave a look right away. The Reb
said that the last word last finishes
off with the words.
That's what it says here.
sighted in the Reb said you finish a
safer but sighted the Could you imagine
the Reb opened the first page last page
and the Reb said they should was given
in at nightb said at night they should
still try to find to add something
so middle of the night we finally got
some stamps and every single safer was
stamped as you can see over here says
the stamp every single was was already
printed already all the were printed and
the asked
We should add the words
also I want to mention in we speak about
the sed when we were uh children young
we knew that as the reb writes in the
minhogim and it's take taken from the u
taken from the
not
only the reb is massed on the kaida. So
everybody knew that you're not mass the
mis on the kabad was based on what says
in the thenshov
the hog was being put together
and in those days they didn't even have
photocopies
it was very difficult to get remember we
used to have to get if you you come with
some place like saviad you had to run to
Manhattan and I remember the address was
one liberty street wall street near
world trade center wasn't built even and
and uh
and uh it was hard to get a copy. So
when the the Reb was mia certain things
they actually sent yat kesh to the
printer and it came back smudged dirty
with the print. It wasn't like today it
was mish print with inkmutzik
and many times this was in the summer
punks I was there so I remember I went
to the zakovski label growner gave us
the uh theat kadesh to bring to balian
printing on s avenue you know where it
is you take the train this many a number
of stops
in east New York
and we had mameish the uh the menhogim
the sogim so many many yonim on the way
we did find some place to make a
photocopy it was white on black it
wasn't so easy was a reverse but we
stopped once we had in our hands we had
to deliver it we couldn't steal it but
on the way we made a detour and we did
so I remember seeing that wrote the
heart is printed
have there shouldn't be a
wrote
and three dots three which means to fill
did
and that's how it's printed but the Reb
didn't write the Reb wrote I saw I was
holding it in my hand I think they even
have a copy of it someplace printed now
also some some they did also get hold of
a copy they printed it up so this is a
little bit about the and again the Reb
used by the Reb used this and also the
Reb had
that he looked in on a regular basis but
I'll get to that in a second just
give a little bit of a feel of what
happened
etc.
Pes the reb used to give out matzas and
every every person came from all over
New York City
came to receive a piece of matzah from
theb used to wish
the reb gave and the matzah was baked.
So the theb used to take for himself. I
remember one year they said that somehow
the Tishan was very very hot and almost
all the mats got burnt and basically had
very little for Pes just come and saw
this hat for the for the story and the
rest of the matas was used to give it to
be given out for people who went stood
online and they got misus and those brim
were in charge of it who took care make
sure those took care of it was the
slowly on the whole thing he was up a
whole night making sure everything those
nurlik
called
and
was the night before. So the used to go
to the was mentioned before and the
later years used to come back as we know
that came back way after
has to be done.
So uh but in those days those days as
strange as it may seem the used to come
back
on time one was a
again I don't know but the reality
was and to everyone's shock that you
made me shocked to hear this that atel
there was no lights whatsoever. The reb
stood in the dark. If it was a dark day
a cloudy day theb stood in the dark. It
was a rainy day. The Reba got soaked.
There was no cover. There was no gag.
There's no heating. There was no air
conditioning. Zero.
Today it's hard to imagine such a thing
like that outside also also.
But when it got dark getting darker the
Reb used to leave there was also the Reb
it seems in those days was more
try to there's at least one case that I
know that the Reb stopped in a gas
station on the way to and one time he
stopped even I mentioned before the Bian
printing
printing my used to work there so once
he was working there and he saw that the
Reb walked there so what's going on over
here guys were sitting by the line of
type machines and the reb walks in and
on the way it's on the way from the
there's a a street called Sutter Avenue
he passed by there and uh was getting
the d over there and the reb used to
come back basically for shalu most years
was there on time shalu was today was
the sukis
they used to pull a pipe from the
basement there was no uh no Mayan like
which they had later. This I'm talking
before.
So they took just a regular pipe, the
regular city water and they pulled the
pipe and the went out to the today is
the and uh the same procedure. We've
seen videos of that later on when they
when they dug the uh they dug the for
the which is as you know it's in the
driveway near the near the Reb's
library. So from there they also slept
water for for the uh for
after
was after was
used to take place.
He was the reb sold the all the years
till he passed away.
And one time I was in 770 it was night
oft everybody empties out
hanging around 77 was very almost it was
very very empty and I was standing in
the hallway
with another and uh
and I seem came out of the Reb's room
and's
roomm used to sleep and eat and live in
770 which today is known as the room and
also the library of the in the last all
the way behind
there's a
a library for the brim that used to be
his bedroom and the yik room used to be
his his kitchen his dining room and
living room all combined in one and
that's where he lived so he went back to
his room and we still got back to chik
in the hallway m I see the rebb is
rushing down the hallway m is rushing
walking very very fast very rare to see
the reb walking fast, very very rare.
And the Reb walks down very fast down
the hallway and he was he moved to the
side and the Reb was like talking to
himself and he says
just when he passed by I was standing
another ber I think it was if I'm not
mistaken standing together and talking
and uh
and he went into all the way to room and
then he went back we had to find out
what's
so he went to and he said what happened
over here so they said that the Reb
didn't give him money from
the money. You have to get money. All
the should know about this. Okay.
>> Yeah. The people had the should hang up
the story. They said, "No, I mean I'm
for a dollar."
>> This was I think it was what
and um
next day was was the burning of the took
place in the boiler room. Today you have
no access after
everything was locked up over there. So
you the furthest you can get is still
the elevator of all after the elevator
he made a left. There was where the door
is now. there was no door and you made a
left all the way down to the boiler room
and over there the Reb used to burn the
in those days there wasn't uh a lot of
pushing or whatever so you're able to go
down and the Reb used to have a a big uh
a big iron pole to spread out spread out
the spread out no way should all burn
out properly and then
in the afternoon
I remember this instruction
Hey was also I was uh walking down
Kingston Avenue was somewhere around
2:30 3:00
I said let's I'll go on 770 for a minute
see what's happening so I go there's
nobody there there's nobody there and uh
I go near the Reb's room I see that the
Reb's door is open the door to the Reb's
room is open and I see the Reb standing
by the side of his table his desk
wearing was out from Shabas then and um
saying the cider was open. And he was
saying how you doing?
And inside I remember was I know from
the alter in those days
and another few bim who were mass matas.
They just came back from the bakery.
They just finished the baking to give
out for uh for kalucas out of pes and
they were inside mada. So the be able to
but meanwhile the reb was saying hey the
so was a nice sight to see. The door was
open this much. Mom is able to see
inside the room. So, wait around. What's
happening over here? After a few
minutes, the bum came out and right
behind them comes the Reb and the Reb
for the om and the Reb is going into the
zal upstairs and is going to the om.
There's only one problem. There's I
don't know how it's now in those days
once a year they painted 770. I don't
know they still do it nowish paint maybe
today have to paint. Then in those days
once a year pes so
all the
were on the tables and the
everything was on the um the reb like
this piled high to the sky as they say
all the way up and the reb coming in
there wasn't even a minion there was
maybe seven eight people there together
with the myself
and Um
the Reb is coming over. He couldn't even
couldn't even get over couldn't get to
the I couldn't put down the sid. So I
ran over I think was on the other side
before he went and um we started taking
over this for him and then underneath
was candle put the candles on. So we had
the had to move back a little bit. We
put the candles down five candles. He
was putting the candles out lighting the
mattress.
Somebody ran downstairs. They found a bo
still
don't take off your film. We need you
for a minion. Okay. So he came upstairs
and uh and then the rebb as soon as he
finished by the way the reban. The rebba
said
I was standing on one side on the other
side. Every little thing that did for
the rebu
held the door open for the rebu. Then
the rebba pointed remember with his
finger like this because right now the
om is the door. You know what I'm
talking about. You know there's a door
on the right side of the om in those
days. Uh there's a basis. I don't think
it's used there.
That's that's over there. And and
in the later years they made a door from
the corridor itself and the hallway
itself is a door before you go into that
little area that had three doors. The
middle door was the the on the right
side was used to in our days we used to
call it
roomabad
started and continued for many many
years in that little room which was as
big as office okay
don't know how big it is okay so that's
but it was open so if that door was open
it was open straight to the door of the
basis so the reb went to this and we
knew that the reb is mahada that should
be closed. So the reb pointed with his
finger. So I went I ran quickly and I
closed the door and come to us we got a
minion and then the reb when they
finished
the reb asked send it seems other times
also in theb was it should be 10 even
though theb writes
asbes
and alterb got the plates it seems when
he reb was that it should
like to be bamished
10 people.
In any case,
then went
it took a long long time. In the earlier
years, there wasn't so many people and
it went pretty fast. Later on, it took
for many many hours. I remember that we
were the the first group that went to
Australia. We came back.
Oh, okay. M right. Um, we came back. We
came back uh before Pes and we're
waiting online. I think it was like uh
old time Abraham was standing online
with everybody else. So the Reb said
so they got everybody else everybody
else together and the Reb gave each one
of us a whole matzah which is very
unusual
used to get the whole matzah. This was
something special but the was something
very very special. They got a whole
matzah and the line went to the extent
that later on after after many people
didn't get so a few people came over as
if they can get after before you knew it
became Israel that many people maybe
came after
but whatever it is it went went all the
way
after yeah yeah yeah many many people
yeah went left also
Um
after m and after the at night the reb
used to go to the bim in 676.
You don't know what 676 is
sure 676 parkway is between Brooklyn and
New York. That used to be the yeshiva
the dormatory and the used to go there
and watch the
kite etc. And then the reb used to say a
perverter. He used to walk it always
into the kitchen to see the babusta
famous cook
mush mush used to tell our guant says
she cooked a whole year for free to get
that from the okay there's many times
things came up and once came up a whole
about about the muza on the right side
and the left side a certain door
according to
I think it was already written about it.
So this I want to later on we are right
now to come up and show you the right
upstairs
>> 1449
also and then later than that
>> and but I remember also the Reb went
with the
>> but went with the ka
>> what
the made the one year one year one year
so the to eat they ate what today is the
kill then used to call toban whatever
name they had in those days and the
remember they put up lights all the way
up a lot of steps to go up and and later
later years the went to those afterwards
and they went to and then to free and
and the Russians and when the Iranians
came for the for the for the for the
girls separate
and all this took a long time obviously
and by the time the rebba started to say
it was quite late so soon as the rebba
left the yeshiva the bakim Those book
wanted to get to this to be by the reper
to be the mameish on time. So they
made mish
express.
They make they made it express
and they came to
was you eat the egg and then was the
right after that. Okay. So and then came
and they used to get the hashem to mish
the beginning of
before the came in because it was open
to everybody but it wasn't a big crowd
you have to understand in those days
here in crown heights and there was very
very small and yalite were busy at home
and even bim who ate at home etc but
later on later years became a little bit
more because there was tuks there's one
kuts one after the other etc etc so
they're able to uh to make it by the sed
now Um mentioned before the reb used
this a reb used and um
when the reb us the reb mentioned I
think he told that he's going to make
sure to say a little bit louder
you couldn't hear a word basically till
the first part the first part they
couldn't hear you can everything's
written up used to read every single
part and the used to eat mish many times
is coughing
Besides besides squeeze out the motor
all the juice came out
like an egg
a piece of motor hard motor which wasn't
even ground the
coughing from from the from the from the
and the matzah also took quite a while
to eat the matzah and um
the reb said that he's going to say it a
little bit louder. So the second part of
the of the uh of the sed was quite quite
loud and most years was that way anyway
after
every single in the beginning he said
very fast the second part was very very
slow
every single every single word
they can't
said and um
since it's the first night and since the
reb came very late because of mentioned
before after
the as they say.
So,
and there was no uh there was no uh
watch or clock in the room except a
little little tiny clock that was on a
thermostat. The thermostat was this big.
The clock was this big. Remember a
number of times. But by the way, the
Freda GBA's place was uh the chair was
there. They used to put a board on the
table because the table that they have,
many of you maybe have been in the room
and I I went in there the first time I
went and after that I said doesn't look
normal. This table looks small. I asked
him so 11 it's the same table is the
same table. I said can't be cuz so many
people sit around. He said they used to
put a board on top of the table cuz they
had a minion sitting sitting around
sitting around around the the table. So
the rebi used to ask many times I stood
behind the rebalikm
and the rebb turned around I uh I was a
younger bak I didn't want to stick my
nose in so uh others they used to run
over on the side they used to say it's
12 minutes you know depending when the
was if they change the clock didn't
change the clock so and so right away
the didn't start eating till everybody
received a portion and as soon as The
Reb stopped eating. They also had to
stop. See? So the Reb used to take but
the fish the Reb ate was full of salt
like hot. You couldn't even see the
fish. Salt covered the whole thing from
top to the whole top. And later on the
chicken before the was also mentioned
there was a soup that was served in a a
big bowl from the alterb. It's a thing
that they have from the alterb that some
things they had that got lost it seems.
But this the mameish came from this man
of Alter and the Reb used to take three
three big uh spoons and put it into his
into his uh plate and everybody else
took it the same way and um and the Rebi
used to eat but the Rebs ate just a
little bit some ate nothing to go quick
and everybody had to stop. People say to
them many times went away pushed hungry.
So he wanted to eat something out of
because he went away pushed once
he wrapped up in a napkin. He wrapped up
a chicken and he put it in his pocket
even saw looked at him
after you can't eat anywhere. This is
even regular yont was a problem stopped
eating. They stopped eating and then
soon they said it's five minutes.
So that became a had to start and had to
start had to start right away and then
the reb had it between two pillows that
that on the chair next to him. Nobody
sad. Rashag had a little pillow but he
never he never was never mive and just
the reb was mason. He took out took out
from that took out that came.
Um
now uh
asked to mention also about
between the two pillows
on the chair next to the Reb. The Reb
sat on one chair next to the Reb was
another chair and the back was this way
like this like this. The back was this
way. There was two pillows in between
the two pillows. I think it says the
lotion that's what it says the lotion
that's how the used to keep it used to
break into five pieces
and
that's it took out a um
as mentioned before we came back from
Australia then and um
we came to the sed
and u one of the
saw was standing right behind the and
the rebba turned around asked
So he moved away. He didn't know who the
Reb is talking to. So the Reb said,
so he said, "Yes,
you have you have to tell the truth."
Tell him. Yes. Finish. That's it. The
Reb didn't say anything. Uh the next day
uh we figured if the asked in the second
day,
you can always take the in your pocket.
So that's what we did. We washed and in
the house we washed. We had a at the
bench in 770 and they took a long and
so take care of it. So again the Reb
turned around and asked again.
So this time he said
so the Reb took from his that's laying
on the on by him in in the in the the
bag that the Reb had
the napkin and he added matzah from the
table some more matzah. There was five.
One of the one of the one of the bakim
was was not there. They went to eat.
They lived in the Bronx. They went to
the Bronx. But there was five were
there. And he uh the Reb gave each one
each one the Reb gave from And the Reb
said that they have to sit down. The Reb
said they should bring five chairs
around the table. was noted of this
lemish, five chairs of hagodis and and
cesis and to make sure that they uh that
they uh they have the arborasis and the
wine etc etc whatever whatever whatever
they need and and the uh asan and
the reb looked a few times the pushing
by that time was already pretty pretty
tough and uh basically we had to sit on
a chair people wanted to stand little by
little we were basically pushed out as
little by little, further and further.
So the Rebel looked and then right away
it came back. As soon as the Rebel
looked everything had to come back and
um
the next this was
the first night the first night of Pes
that that year was tremendous pushing
and there was such pushing that the
bottle of wine poured out on the table
and the watched it looked at it to us. I
was very unhappy. So uh the next day it
was given over in the name of the
mosquito that the bim should not come in
because what happened last night nobody
should come in but then they decided
that the kudim that's they should come
in because the going away etc. So they
should come in so the bim are allowed to
come in as for them and we came to the
door and the door was locked. You go to
the side door that the middle steps
today they have a today they have a a
gate over there after but then you're
able to go up upstairs you knock on the
door ended up in the kitchen and to go
in and knocking on the door nobody opens
the door then one of the came in so I
told him to ask maybe Rash could ask the
if
they came from Australia they can go in
so asked the and the said what's the sh
what's the question so right away they
let us they let us in and then This
thing what I mentioned before was what
the Reb said what the Reb said was about
was then
um
also at that by that by that
the Reb said was saying
the Reb said it three times
three times he said it like this
tremendous later they found out that
there was The bomb that fell in the
Sinai where the Israeli soldiers were
that could have killed Mameish on
mention was Mameish exactly at that time
was mish
that happened and also if I remember
correct I think was that by that
the pouring back of the wine the
was a thing which is beyond beyond
understanding I mean this is maybe you
read about it there's no videos of it
the reb used to take the leu pour it
back in the bottle. So you add a little
wine, you pour it back in the bottle.
That's what most people do. But the reb
poured from the bottle into the le
into the reba back then back into the
bottle. I'm not telling any specific
because nobody knows the and then it was
back into the le back to the bottle by
itself. Then the reb took from the tets
that's underneath that the wine was
there. put it into the le and it went
back into the rabbis back into the
bottle back from the bottle maybe 50
times it went back and forth like this
50 times it's mindboggling 50 times and
to some b I remember once all they're
going to crack the code they say you
know they're going to find out what's
going on over here so they prepared a
whole bunch of different color papers
they had a blue paper and a red paper
and a yellow paper
was this one was
They a lot of papers. No, no one knows
what's going on. Trust me. Didn't figure
it out. And I don't know if every day
was even different
to remember exactly the same. There was
an
game and people seeing and the Reb was
back and forth. The Reb's bottle. The
Reb had the bottle a bottle of wine. The
Reb kept it on the floor. The Reb always
took care of himself. Nobody served the
Reb the wine. The Reb served the wine
himself.
And
then after
after
the said
that was right in the beginning that was
the song for the
was brought in brought in it's not
original song that's whatever said
developab
Okay.
Yeah. Okay.
Just
when we were in take two minutes we were
in the said that we should make
so each got got one safer. I wrote up uh
three clim what if it says whereas you
don't have to put it in three clim what
to put in what not to put in I sent it
into the added a fourth cl so the three
and but
something had to come out to come out
right away right away right away right
away and wanted was going on called in
the the people on the
okay good okay good insured
Good, good, good, good, good.
>> Good.
>> I'm sorry. Okay.
>> Okay.
So, upon him
called he asked. They told him
so good. A few hours later, he calls
back and he says
Niss
and make the long story short
a little I wrote up the whole thing and
I put it on the wall in the a few days
later came to the kill
used to stay in the kill
check it out and walk
comes down from the steps and I put on
the mid and a killer they're selling
baby carriages or renting whatever they
want and there's this mid I had the Reb
came down. He went over to the mid and
he reads this letter that I wrote and in
the middle the Reb starts laughing
because I wrote over there
sayb read it himself. So,
thank you very much.
Like I said, he took us there. There's a
bus that's going to the oil.
I'm president in Kingston and
Amen.
