"Chaimo" shares his life journey for the first time!

Um welcome to another episode of Podsitivity. I'm super   excited Yoely to be here with you today. We're good friends, we know each other for  a while we have something in common that we are both in the public   eye so I'm very very excited to bring you   on. They see the status, you make them  laugh, I think you're one of the most famous  In terms of like celebrity icon, public eye,  people don't know much about  your story, so Yoely take it away. So what is this, I grew up a Williamsburg  yenta, I grew up in Williamsburg, I went to   Spinka Cheider. It closed down in kita Zayen We went from Spink To Satmar. There was no   GoFundMe at the time. There was no money,  there wasn't this GoFundMe like today.  We went into Satmar, cheider closed, like lev  Tahor. Similar like Lev Tahor but it wasn't   so... It closed everyone went somewhere else. Some went to Shopron, some went there. Life moved   on, I'm 16 17 years old. I learn in Satmar. One second, In cheider, did you enjoy cheider,   were you a famous kid? Na I was quiet. Were you bullied? No No, just a regular life.   Regular life. What did you enjoy doing as a kid? In cheider or? Did you fit in or were   you already then creative and unique? I was not always in the spotlight. I tried not to get hit (petch) from the Rebbe.    Yes I behaved. They gave petch? I behaved. I learnt in Monroe Yeshiva, but I went   into buffing, what happened there? I went inside  to listen, we followed some baseball. I used to   go to Yankee stadium, I used to go from Monroe. This was a sin? Were you allowed to go? No, it was   a big sin, we had to do teshuva. We were spoiled  yankee friends. We had in 1998 1999 2000 2001.  We were spoiled yankee friends 4 years  in a row we had baseball, we followed.  I buffed shomrim. I went into buffing, shomrim,  I listen to Hatzalla, I’m into this, I buf.  I always snapped pictures, I have 6 – 7  albums at home and I developed pictures.  You know what it means the good picture  always got burnt. It used to get burnt,   you know what this is a film? Yes. Why did it burn?   I don't know the machine, many times, there wasn’t who to talk to. Once I got to  eh.. Yeshiva I got to social media, I  got to WhatsApp, I actually got late to it.  One sec, after yeshiva, Satmar  yeshiva, in Williamsburg?  I learnt 2 years in Monroe, in 2000 I was  already out of yeshiva. One day I saw that I can send   a video to everyone, everyone can see it. The entire group, and I sent out a video   of myself, and everyone can see me. Whoa I really liked it. I only like to see me on a picture, haha. I learnt today, any picture, the way I look that's how I send it. I cease the moment and I send it out.  And I started posting from shomrim and hatzallah calls. There was no such things like collecting money by weddings. Hi everybody. And in the end,   that's how I used to go to places. What happened with mosdos? Nu, uh That I shouldn't steal money for things that  I do, I was introduced to something that I didn't have any awareness of. My brain used to think that I should steal, I wanted to steal from  a pushka (charity box), from a wallet,   I started wearing (shows on his clothing) You became erlich, no by me everyone is good. I started wearing this in  honor of parnasa (livelihood), and   basically what happened is it hit by the mosdos. Basically what you're saying   is, in other words if I understand correctly,  that you decided you're wearing the hat and suit,   you will go to simchas to make people  happy, in exchange pay me for my presence.  Help me live. My presence is my   career. Where I am that is my job. The moment. My job is that I entertain people through   my presence.  There are also people that say, I go to a place  and people tell me it makes them laugh. You know, like thank you.  People tell me, sometimes you walk in  somewhere and people hug you, smile to you.  Same thing, I started liking  it halo. I don't know.  Sometimes I don't get to weddings  because you know, I get stuck.  And do you like it when people are  all over you with Chaimo and what   about these people that don't  treat you like you're a human   being? This has nothing to do with how you are. There simply are some people that when they meet someone they  lose themselves and they choose to push you.  How does that make you feel? So I can   hear it sometimes and I learnt, sometimes  I see someone and I understand because I   also don't like certain things but I  block it out and I continue walking.  You know how you block it? You just  keep walking. You cut out that page.  Or what I do many times, I learnt,  I'm in the public eye and I learnt   to be able to handle that people do that to me. I hear all kinds of words, let's say you and I can   eat steak and you can like it and not me. Right Right.  Same thing is with a person, there  a person that some people like and   some don't. I made a ceasefire  for myself that I like everyone.  That's beautiful but do you ever  push back, if somebody is mean to   you or is disrespectful, you'll tell him  halo I am a person, respect my boundaries?  Or would you let him step on you? um. I walk away. I tell him I need to use the bathroom. haha. Ok. Fair enough. I don't want to make a scene,   chap. I'm coming right back, wait here halo. haha That's very sweet of you because I will push   back, If someone disrespects me, I'll just   push back. I don't want to get violent with my hands because it can turn into a scene. I understand. I don't use my hands to hurt,   if someone starts with their  hands I use my feet and run away.  If someone is disrespectful  I'll walk off. I'm not going to like it. You know what I realized many times, let's say you and I have are having a conversation   in WhatsApp, I don't tell something to  a person because he might reply and I   will probably not like it so I am usually  careful not to say anything bad to someone.  I also realized that when you give  a compliment for someone, you get   back. Hit him back with good. Kindness. I used to collect charity and   I used to be locked up in my heart, by me  there's no such things as a person is stingy.  I didn't use to give, I was locked. I learnt to give for everyone $5.  I give, I hope one day to give more.   Sometimes we get blessings, it's very interesting the brachos. It's energy. I realized when I give,   it also comes in. It goes both ways. One day a week there is no penny,   and 2 days a week when I get. One second, and for whom do you give?   To anyone who comes over. I like wide because it takes me over.  So I have a big Shtreimel, the nice  wide one, It takes me over. Big glasses.  I used to go with small hat,  short suit. Green   was for my friend Shulem Meisner, his son had Bar  Mitzva so I told him I want a suit that matches with the tablecloths and it was green. Where did you make this suit?  Um Fendi, Fino, Findo, Fendi haha. I  went into their store and said I want to match with the tablecloth. And they said ten four. Many times when times, you're so sweet. Ten four. I like to change colors, I can sometimes walk on the street and people say, Chaimo you  are wearing the same clothing, I tell him give me your credit card, I'll buy new clothing. I used to change daily, you know how I call it myself? I don't know how others call it. Multiple souls. Every day I  decide something else what to wear.  From where this comes, I don't know. What happens is the body becomes immune to it, so I said don't start. I already stopped in the past and I hope to stop again. I know, I was very proud of you. I felt like I miss half of my brain. Wow. yes. Yes because I have... And even after a few months of stopping you feel the same? On a fast day when a person doesn't have his coffee he feels. Hundred percent. Basically what happens is, when I started I didn't have any awareness. In 2006 I did not have awareness and what happens is the body cannot with it. That was the first time? 2006? Yes. Cocaine. Who introduced you? I was with some woman. I was not introduced in the Jewish world to this. I didn't do it with other people, I was usually a loner. And somebody gave you this for the first time? Yes. I was introduced it and it clicked right away. There are people that cocaine does not talk to them. Even if he tries it and it's an addictive substance it doesn't talk to him.h Some people can try weed and it does not talk to them. and some love it right away. And what's your advice if somebody is hooked onto it, how can he get off of it? You are asking to wrong person halo. I love you Chaimo, you are so sweet. Basically is, put me on. You've done it a few times. I want again. By the way you know the part of recovery is failure and I'm sure you know that as an addict. And I have my stuff that I'm addicted to and everyone here has something that they are addictive to. And it's very nice by the way that you speak about it. I was not gonna ask you but you brought it up. So part of recovery is to fail, it's ok. So you have actually, I'm proud of you because you have actually quit for many many times. Many times. What motivated you then to quit and how did you stay? How did you keep to it? So I was once in Westchester for 4 weeks, I was sober for 80 days and one day I was on Adderall years ago, One day I felt very down and I went to the dealer and got it back. Right. Then one time when I was sober and I saw the dealer. You know, you have people that owe you money Eli? Yes. So you know, you already forgot about it, went to sleep. I was 10 months sober. I drive by in Williamsburg and I see the dealer, I'm driving on Wythe Avenue and I waved hi to him, I just greeted him, it all woke up not through Wi-Fi or blue tooth. It got so quickly connected to me I felt it everywhere, and you had to, and I stopped breathing. I start walking, I literally go into a mode of, right, you don't see anything else besides for that. When a person doesn't have his cigarette, 100 percent. I tried 2-3 times, sure. Don't start because you can't get off of it. You really can't? You could, people stopped. Basically if you have someone on top of you 24 hours then you would be able to. I have to have a leash. wow. Yes, basically I did it the first time, what happened was that I did it for $4,000 straight. Imagine you string for $4k. I left with a mm, I was at someone's house for $4k, I loved it and didn't want to leave. There is someone Yossel Grossman, he says the first he did, it was 2 weeks straight he didn't want to go home. Wow. Yossel Grossman was by someone for 2 weeks. This feel like Gan Eden? I'm starting to think now. You ever drank alcohol? Yes. It's good. It is only good while you take it, true. It's called a food overdose. I can move. So the barbeque sauce I dip it, I shouldn't feel, By the way as we speak, next time I'll tell him to add sesame and mixed it, it should be like sesame chicken sesame fish. You like sesame fish? Right, Eli you know the Instagram account is not mines, you have an Instagram account with 30k followers, and you have TikTok accounts also with thousands of followers, but it's not you and you don't even know who it is. Youtube and things. He does a good job by the way, he is respectful of you. He doesn't make fun of you. I hope he makes money from it. I don't know if you make money out of it by the way. Instagram doesn't pay yet. But you can make money because if you were to take it over, you can ask a person advertisement money for this. But I am from the oldtimers. I got used to WhatsApp, you are good at Instagram I'm not good at it I'm an oldtimer. You know how when I back with my car I only use the 2 side mirrors, I don't use the middle mirror. so I don't know how to use Instagram. You understand? I understand. You know someone that uses the camera, the screen, I don't use it, I use the 2 side mirrors, I don't know how to use Instagram, I tried. But if status if someone wants to advertise its $500 right?
