We started with nine Jews praying in our
living room. We didn't have a minion.
And today, Ply Carman is no longer a
Jewish destination. It's no longer a
place for Jews to come. This is now a
Jewish hub.
We moved out here in the summer 2010.
It's inspiring to see the way how our
community and the Kabad House has grown
exponentially over the last 16 years.
>> From the very beginning when we found
Pia Carman, it was like a click. We fell
in love with Playa. Over the years, the
Jewish community here really grew.
>> What started with a small Hebrew school
in our living room turned into a
oneclass Hebrew school in our Kabad
house turned into two classes of Hebrew
school.
>> Started to build the mikvah 2012. Bought
a property in the middle of the town.
The mikvah was completed in December of
2013. When we began construction of the
mikvah and we were working with the
rabbis and the contractors, I remember
thinking, how many women are going to
use this mikvah? Today, our mikvah is
used by hundreds monthly.
>> People like to be natural. That's why
they come to apply it. There's no
boundaries here. People were able to to
fill the express the the Judaism.
>> Since my father passed away, the rabbis
helped me a lot to to do the art side,
the kadesh.
>> We have been in play for the last year
and a half. We love everything about
Mexico, the weather, and we especially
love the people and the people that make
us feel like home. And that's
>> the first thing that the rabbi told me
is, "Welcome home." And that's what it
feels like. We're all happy to be part
of Kabad. With all of our local Jewish
people and the influx and the continuous
growth of the Jewish tourists, Playa now
plays host to 10 kosher restaurants. We
have a bakery. We now have a kosher
butcher.
>> We almost sold out every shabas. We
could reach sometimes 500, 600.
>> I love how every shabas kind of like
grows bigger and bigger like probably
like five or 10 more people every week.
And during Pesak, it's also like 300
people. And even during week, it's also
really busy.
>> With the amazing growth of the Jewish
presence here and all the returning
visitors that are coming year after
year, this beautiful space that we've
been using for the last 15 years. Just
can't contain all the the happiness and
the energy that people bring. Nice
spacious big space. Here we're going to
have our kittish hole. Here's going to
be the kitchen. the kitchen that makes
meals for thousands of Jews to make
Shabbat and keep kosher. Here is going
to be the big social hall where we host
hundreds of people for shabas. Hundreds
and hundreds. All the community here is
excited for the new Kabal house. It
should be a great help for all the Jews
that come from all around the world to
enjoy a beautiful new Kabal house.
partner with us to make this project a
reality so we could continue helping
more Jews for many generations to come.
