these days all right so where we headed
Lisa first of all I mean this is my I I
grew up here this is the house I grew up
in I I figured uh for Nostalgia sake
hanging out here checking out the house
checking out the house yeah looking back
at the old roots there's a couple places
in M that I've uh wanted to uh See since
my childhood that I was never allowed to
go see there were certain areas off
limits so that's where I'm headed now
okay tell me where to go we're going for
a ride we going straight why over here
by the way you like pressed for time
because we you know it's not every day

publicly or Davin or something like that
was by my bitva and my parents parents
took uh the opportunity to rent out a
building that was just opening up you
can keep going straight um that's now
Yesa Spring Valley girls oh wow um and
uh all the other shools in the
neighborhood were pretty much emptied
that chabas and we all converged in this
uh so everybody came to hear you sing
before either that or it was a closer
walk for people I I I don't know what
the real reason was but it it ended up
being really nice oh right here left oh
how about those breakes right there and
make them like they used to oh yeah but
the real reason why we DED in this other
location is because I grew up diving in
a really unless you were married oh
really you couldn't take the so we had
to move the sh to a new location this is
it right here wow Brother s Mitzvah days

corner this Ur care oh wow wow that
corner this urg care I thought you were
going to say a lot less trees I thought
maybe you know what they they actually

sending them all their treats that
they're taking out very deep very deep
so these streets you were walking up and
down shabas afternoon making trouble D

sidewalks going to make a left what
proud there's no sidewalks in M yeah you
you found then it's no longer a small
town we can make a left here let's see
some breaking some breaking
skills wow you have a tape recorder in
here yeah is that amazing my my uh Honda
see doesn't even have a CD player right
right all I want to do is listen to you
have like a record player in the back
you know what under the hood I actually
now I I haven't had an opportunity to
play a tape in I don't know how many
years let's let's go pick up a there's
some tapes that I've always wanted to
hear I just never had the opportunity to
hear them with a with a tape recorder no

[Applause]
a
yeah you've been singing you've beening
you've been bringing very good what what
would you say is one of your earliest
Inspirations in the inion of music in
the world of music what is your earliest
that you could remember that first
inspiration that said you know what this
is something I want to Fang with so you
know I I I don't think a lot of people
know this about me but uh I started out
as a really yeah I studied
kazanas for a long time and uh
you want to hear a little Kaz of course
I do I didn't even know that myself
little bit K but course I want to hear
some K I need you to join me on this
because kazanas is Meant To Be Sung as a
group no I'm joking Kus is Always sung
alone Joey for this we got to slow down
a little okay let's slow down let's see
let's bring in the this
is okay if I close my eyes please just
not
Crossing
you know
[Music]
this
here of
the
I got to pull over for this I got to
take it in I can't just drive oh you
know you know what this C's name is
Right Pierre pinchi who Pierre pinchi
Pierre pinchi Pierre pinchi like a p
pinchi mom or something like Tom you
know your friend took us you know about
him I do know how do you know about him
wow I do my research
too what would you say it was the first
time that people ask you to sing your
own stuff you know it's actually there's
a a funny story to that I'm being asked
to sing Somewhere a small party not for
hire so uh some guy comes up to me and
says no sing Karama sing Karama like I
got this I know
Karama Minor Detail I did released the
song Karama a few months earlier but I
didn't think anyone heard
it
that's what you saying that's what I
saying I thought this is what the guy
wanted to
hear arguably the
[Music]
best
[Applause]
and the guy comes the whole time he's
busy going like I'm like what this is
the best song ever and then uh he
reminded he reminded me that by the way
you know you wrote a song called that uh
that's the song we wanted to hear okay
you got to fill me in on something so
said not the one you saying yours which
obviously became Mish I remember it
being the biggest thing when we were in
yiva it blew up obviously and it's a
beautiful song and it's heart-wrenching
it's m deep at what point would you say
that it it had that moment where like
suddenly it just became the biggest
thing when did that happen sure yeah
there's a good story for that uh
Heritage Foundation which was also myy
born and Brad Mr Michael Rothchild
called me to uh brothera see if I can
helped record something for their Tish
event like a while they were rolling the
credits they wanted a a hearta song I
said you know I have this song called
barama Let me just uh remove the music
and this was a few months after we
officially released it and it didn't
really go anywhere oh really it was
released already it was released already
and uh that from like one minute to the
next all foundations phone calls they
were getting was like what's that song
from whose song is that where can we
hear it where can we get it and it
slowly made it and I think the reason
that it made it was because Foundation
even if the song was
terrible no one can ever say
anything you know what I'm saying it's
like oh did you hear that that that song
on
on the whole of yeah it was like the
first time I sang at the foundation
weekend the shabas the food was amazing
very you know what I'm saying the
speakers were
amazing wow that was the uh that was the
that's why you decided to do it and from
that it became the biggest thing it blew
up from there m it's been fun a little
bit we should do this more often yeah I
think so it's been fun it's been haly
for I bre Tommy what was the first song
first song you ever sang Live performed
live yeah I I can actually I can
actually uh pinpoint this to the exact
song so uh the first song I sang Live
was in Camp I had my Solo in the choir
you know a funny story in Camp R I
actually auditioned for the choir and
didn't get inoo yeah and you know how
bad you have to be to not get into a
camp choir everyone gets into a camp
choir I hope you I hope when they called
you for a concert you were like oh
really I did yeah
yeah um so the first song was this
amazing amazing song froma this was
[Music]
uh here we
[Music]
go
[Music]
the
[Music]
[Applause]
right you ready for myo here it was this
was
it
[Music]
I I I I think there's a good question
you asked me earlier um that uh we were
talking about concerts first of all you
tell me a little bit what was your
earliest concert memory that you that
you have the earliest concert
memory I would have to say I don't again
I can't tell you where it was but I
remember sitting there with my family it
was Mendy wal Yehuda exclamation mark
remember him exclamation point schamy
Dax and Sly williger it's like the Dream
Team yeah I remember we were rocking 92
that
was you know what I'm saying it's bald
do you talk what about you you have a
concert you remember as a kid that like
started you off in the engion I I can
pinpoint also exactly which shows you
know I I I didn't go to a lot of
concerts as a kid but there was one
concert I remember going to that I I
will never forget and this is the song
that they can I guess can I guess go for
oh hell oh hell you see the 9s I didn't
know that one existed until the the
video came out really yeah for
sure so it wasn't that
one
wait this is the concert this is the
song This was the song my friend at the
concert that you remember I don't think
you sing this song
yah in my tears I
drown but I never let it get me down so
when negativity
surround I know someday it will all turn
around because on my life I've been
waiting for i' been for for the people
to say that we don't want to fight no
more there'll be no more war and our
children will one day one day one
day one
day I've been praying for for the people
to say that we don't want to fight no
more there'll be no my
wall you got to tell me where are we
going this this is like hidden
destination you're not telling me about
like what's I don't know about a hidden
like what we're doing today I'm
basically revisiting my childhood bike
route you know what I'm saying every day
I would bike all these routes there was
one block I don't know I I I never went
down I was always told to just avoid SMY
let smly smly drive I want to see what's
down the smly drive like I've never
actually been it's right here on the
left here on so we're about to see
something of that you never saw pretty
much second that's it it's just like an
old building yeah like
what oh this isako of Spring
Valley now I guess okay it was nothing
uh here no here here so that's why my
sisters were able to come here okay you
know what take me take me home take me
home
Brother start up simpa if you had to
pick one who's your favorite artist
obviously Jewish artist of all time
it's got to be it's got to be a Ramel no
come on ramel's that EV one of that the
goat the goat yeah mount rushma see
Mount Rushmore gives you four options so
you're still good we can't talk about
without singing one of those I wouldn't
say the classics we did the classics
already would you have a frv of ram this
is like energy you ready for energy
let's get some
[Music]
energy
[Music]
nice
Cofe much energy in the smell smells
better
than my coffee W
flying so in the end of the day we're
doing this for Amud
the what do you think about the impact
that I mood and had on the world how do
you feel about it yeah you know I'm
driving around uh my old uh stomping
grounds where I grew up seeing the
sights of my childhood and uh the one
thing I can say that
uh amudim in my uh from my perspective
changed the most is uh things like
Mental Health things are taking you know
your the way you feel just as seriously
psychologically and mentally not only
the way you feel
physically was something that uh was
completely not addressed completely not
acknowledged it was something that was
uh it was people were afraid to speak
about it completely nobody want not
something that was ever discussed ever
brought to the Forefront and uh I can I
can confidently say that amudam made
that something that is you know besides
all of the it's 2:00 in the morning
someone's in trouble you call amudam we
all know about that for years and that's
unbelievable work that amudam does but
at the end of the day when it comes
time for someone to acknowledge that
they need help that they they want to
work on their uh relationships their you
know their their psychological issues
that they're dealing with these are
things that are now addressed on a
day-to-day basis because Amud
[Music]
made
[Applause]
[Music]
oh
