Building a New World

It's 1941, the Nazis are barreling through Europe, and like so many of their brethren, the Rebbe and his wife, Rebbetzin Chaya Mushka, are in perilous danger. Back in New York, under the direction of the Previous Rebbe, Rabbi Yosef Yitzchak Schneerson, intense efforts are being made to secure safe passage for them to the United States. Finally, on the 28th of Sivan in 1941, the Rebbe and Rebbetzin set foot on safer shores. Their arrival heralds new beginnings for Judaism in America, and kicks off efforts that have since made Chabad a household name - in every Jewish home, and in every corner of the world.
