Bringing the Aibishter Back | Rabbi Motty Kesserman

One of the Yesodos that the Ba’al HaTanya writes about is The Aibishter has a תאוה to have a מקום דירה, to have a place of living בתחתונים, in this world. We know that the Aibishter has עולמות העליונים where there’s tremendous גילויים of the Aibishter. The Aibishter created this world to be a מקום דירה. Before Adam HaRishon’s חטא, Adam HaRishon was in Gan Eden, and this world was a מקום דירה בתחתונים. Adam HaRishon did a חטא and the Aibishter went back to עליונים. The Avoda of a Yid is to bring the Aibishter back into this world. B’shas the Beis HaMikdash, a Yid walked into the Beis HaMikdash, it was a מקום השראת השכינה. After the Churban, Klal Yisroel goes into Galus, and our job is to bring the Aibishter back בתחתונים, to our world. The Rambam, when he describes Kidush Hashem, Kidush Hashem is bringing the Aibishter, being מקדש שם שמיים in this world, brings the Aibishter down to this world. When a Yid goes to Auschwitz, Auschwitz is a מקום דירה בתחתונים, because that was a place where Yidden left the world על קידוש השם. Zokt the Rambam, there's another way of making Kidush Hashem. When a Yid has a Nisayon, and nobody else knows about this Nisayon, no one knows what's going on inside, what his inner Nisayon is. In the middle of a regular day, in the middle of a workday, a person has a Nisayon. And this Yid has the power to be עומד בניסיון. This Yid just made this world to a מקום דירה בתחתונים. Zokt the Rambam, that’s קידוש שם שמיים ,כמו יוסף הצדיק that no one knew about this Nisayon. He didn't get any Kavod, he didn't get anything from it. That moment of עומד בניסיון, is a מקום of making this world a מקום דירה בתחתונים. And each one of us through our day we're making the world a מקום דירה בתחתונים, when a person's עומד בניסיון. The Sefarim tell us, when Mashiach is going to come, כל הרשעה כולה כעשן תכלה. All the רשעות, all the Nisyonos, all of a sudden, it's going to turn into smoke, and we're going to see a different world. We're going to see a place where there was some Yid that walked down this street and this Yid was עומד בניסיון. There's going to be a tremendous אור in this מקום, because this מקום became a מקום דירה בתחתונים. Rav Shimshon Refael Hirsch writes, Hashem sends each one of us to different places. Every place that a person comes, he has a job to make this world a מקום דירה בתחתונים. Hashem should bentch us, we should be מאמין בעצמנו, that each one of us has a Shlichus and a Tafkid to make this world a מקום דירה בתחתונים.
