as they say they they shove under the
rug this is something that needs to be
very respected because for those people
it's literally you can light a cigarette
up in front of someone that has a
cigarette addiction and they're weeks
and months into the process and you just
by doing that in front of them
ignorantly are they just to disv
validate and like you don't care that
they say that it's a trigger for them
and you just Decon down the cause for
them to fall back I felt like oh wow
okay I'm not the only one right one of
the steps in addiction is to be in the
Nile um on before the recovery right
just being in the addiction but I didn't
even think about that mentions yeah
correct awareness is 50% of the healing
so the first step
just
suffer the problem is that anytime they
choose to do something about it you know
you're going to be helped
versus was V feeling heard and supported
and understood and
[Music]
loved welcome to another episode of
positivity I'm very excited to have here
one of my closest friends in my life and
a good friend of the podcast a guest
that has been here on the podcast many
times and uh collectively reached uh uh
over I think 10,000 views which of what
I know of and that's a huge milestone
that so many people love to listen and
we actually made a challenge a few epod
episodes ago that if enough people will
ask for a for a update or followup um
then we'll do another the episode so we
still owe the people a episode on Law of
Attraction cuz I I it was in Yiddish it
was in Yiddish yeah so I think I believe
the request was for Yiddish so yeah but
yish English is that the audience do 90%
of them speak English speak yish and
that at the end of the day with the
English speaking audience it's a lot but
with the English speaking audience it's
it goes It goes a lot further I think
inish is like
liit so I know the
AI they know they know English so focus
of flow so actually I always want to
make an episode by the way of of of
addictions because we live in a world I
know for myself Through The Years
growing up and I'm still growing up
turning 27 now and I know that I
personally struggled with certain
addictions now most
addictions and this is a international
related Community they as they say they
they shove under the
rug Community
but shame it's
secretive and at a certain
point
they and created M pain bubble literally
like a physical infection in the body
after not taking care of your body for a
while EP Ken is the is m m some of these
addictions or things that we ignore at a
certain point H oh my God like wow
like for example like the smoke
spent of man addiction
,000 cuz when the math adds
up terrible heartburn V the VAP because
because the VAP is obviously going into
my lungs that can affect having
heartburn and or just not a healthy
heart and I start saying like wow
something is wrong like this this right
so with certain under addictions that
you start noticing that uh Z was
affecting let's say self-worth right
let's say watching specific things I
feel like what happens is it feels good
in the moment it's very easy to brush it
off the next day by doing the same thing
discussing it with friends laughing
about it you know or being engaged in it
during the whole day but after a while
sometimes it's weeks months or even
years you start
noticing it felt good at the time but it
doesn't feel good right now and that
goes for alcohol
addiction May
addicted um
so you know we constantly talk between
each other vegan addictions
mention and both on social
media through WhatsApp Instagram
platforms people reach out to us help
help who said the
help 99% of the of the case
simp
so
which I wish
views they struggle with an addiction I
just want to give them the
information
information we did something with our
bodies that we had no idea is and we
were just
hoping by the
way say
perspec science based like the men just
the men say St on addiction he says
gambling alcohol other any under mean
addiction right
so me men I I I just I want to be here
first to to
validate so take over it's a friendly
conversation represent
question into it I hope I did it well I
hope I I hope I set the ground for you
but I'm excited to have you sitting near
me MOSI it's always a pleas than you I'm
excited to be
here
so millions of notes while you were
saying I was think I was thinking of
writing but
for me like the the notes while I'm
writing the note I miss the points that
you're saying at the time that I'm
writing okay right right I'm focused on
what I do yeah it's either
or
um being that said I'm going to remember
I'm going to try to remember yeah
um so K before we start talking about
addictions in general none of
us addiction professionals right and
none of us have ever dealt with an
addiction and went through the process
completely of getting out of the
addiction okay okay being that said we
need to make an
awareness as for people that don't
understand that have never experienced
it that have never been exposed to
someone that experienced it on a whole
new level like that have never been
close to someone so close that they have
witnessed their whole journey yeah from
the struggle from the healing from an
addiction we can't have any judgments
about it because in the Jud Jud m is
really irrelevant it's so stupid it's
really stupid to have a judgment because
we can never understand it without
experiencing it uh or at least the
minimum at least being very close to
someone and witnessing from very close
the experience that someone has on on
the addiction which is not even close to
experiencing it but it's the closest you
can see from from a point of view where
you don't have it being that said
there's also a very um important thing
regarding when addictions and for a lot
of people in the addiction
recovery um there's in the addiction
recovery process is the triggers says do
the person has to remove the things that
trigger him to go him or her to go
back bring addiction for example add
smoking is the idea
is cigarettes at
all I should ask kindly of my friends
and people around me that smoke that
please don't do it in front of me if you
don't mind I can't tell anyone what to
do but I can ask you a favor if you
don't mind to please in front of me not
to do it of property you're not allowed
to smoke here and and if the case is
that someone doesn't want to respect it
not on my property I can walk I walk
away right because I don't want to be uh
triggered by it and triggered by it
that's a lot of people take it as a
misunderstanding like the concept and on
an emotional level a bunch of under but
now we're talking about triggers in
addiction this is something that needs
to be very respected because for those
people it's literally you can light a
cigarette up in front of someone that
has a cigarette addiction and there are
weeks and months into the process and
you just by doing that in front of them
ignorantly are they just to dis validate
and like you don't care that they say
that it's a trigger for them and you
just deons down the cause for them to
fall back to have a relapse or even to
relapse already for a long time until
they go and start again the process
because once a person relapses they give
up they're like a lot of times relapses
apart from the recovery and a person
deep into the recovery knows that they
are going to relapse and it's going to
be okay they're going to
come they're going to be fine it's like
it's a supported thing in the process
but the point is yeah although you're
going to tell me now cigarette and you
fall back that's not my responsibility
there actions fine I hear you I'm not
going to tell you it's not yours but I'm
just asking you from a point of you
don't care wow right like please try to
care about another human they you have
your struggles I have mine and they have
theirs and just it's it's a very
important thing to be aware of yeah
right add it came up for me like it
importance like you can see a lot a lot
of times on YouTube videos that talk
about addictions they they write in the
in the the letter
they write um uh trigger trigger warning
right right for those people that have
the addiction sometimes talking about it
like listening to a video about it is
also not ideal okay
right
um Allah addictions was
mentioned um there are so many right uh
should it be alcohol should it be
narcotics which is any kind of drugs um
should it be um um um smoking and and
vaping and and all that should it be
watching specific things right um are
the gambling the four specific do you
know are you aware of how many
addictions there are four or five
specific and by the way in the watch and
the specific things I think it's related
to specific actions as well
right right some people just chase after
it one after the other right they're
never satisfied never enough and and
drugs is one that I didn't bring up I'm
allot to interrupt I'm sorry that
mention right but way too many people
are addicted to Tylenol like I have many
of my friends that tell me been addicted
to Tylenol the
way I'm saying it to validate by the way
no way shape or
form we're not Prof judging is wrong or
right we're not talking about
that valid
like okay I was there by the way I
couldn't fall asleep for a while without
I was actually sick so I wasn't like
just taking it out of the addiction but
I was taking it out of a
place and this was the only way I was
able to fall asleep like this made me
drowsy or made me feel relieved other is
sure it was just in my mind right so I
can just relate to those people
right by the
way I felt like oh wow
so okay I'm not the only one yeah right
so you touched earlier um Tak of the of
the the shame and the secrecy yeah right
that people carry it alone which is a
very deep core of any addiction this is
what people that are addicted to
something do MH um but before we go into
that I want to touch the fact
that the addictions is as if someone is
already aware that they have an
addiction ah Z mentioned like it's
against to what percent it is I don't
know maybe it's 2% maybe it's 98% I
don't know either way even if it's 2%
it's a big percent yeah of people that
are addicted to something and they don't
even know it right because one of the
steps in addiction is to be in the
Nile one of the steps in addiction is to
be in denial um and on before the
recovery right just being and the
addiction I didn't even think about that
mentions in yeah correct and and
and I'm going try to remember like
specific
details
heartburns the the the the normal the
stereotypical uh um response for someone
in denial with that addiction would be
like about
um any qu right um by the way this is
like wow
okay actually stopped from one second to
the other I don't think I was ever
addicted to cigarettes because it was so
easy for me to stop right um I can
relate to addictions from other places
yeah um
the the men smoked Vaped
yeah whatever the I'm not addicted I can
stop at any time The
heartburns Ting
problem unhealthy habits of eating which
by the way kind of an
addiction related
problem
[Music]
um wow
smoke they saw is
Gen so are you
saying right so are you saying that step
one is to acknowledg
him addiction and now what okay
beautiful and now what's the difference
between a bad habit and
addiction mention the bad habit from
smoke and VAP and sometimes mention hook
out or whatever you know like in do
mention other from any
add mention
obv excessively or can't live without it
basically compulsive yeah compulsive I
just say the answer so bad habit and
addiction Che Google the definition for
an addiction right if you want that so
the awareness is always this is what I
keep on saying
right healing awareness is 50% of the
healing this is man
coach yeah um uh uh awareness is always
the first step and and and
and because you're in denial about it
that's why you cannot take it out
because if you would acknowledge it
that's when you can take it out the
second is you acknowledging that you
have garbage yeah you understand what
I'm saying yeah right so in the
or something
exterminator you're not taking the right
action
exterminated and you have to snap out of
your Deni in order so the first step
gues on you know what
[Music]
the problem any time they choose to do
something about it you know you're going
to be helped
versus unconscious level so this is how
being in the N looks like in some
way so obviously the first step is iic
acknowledging specifically when it comes
to addictions um the definition of
addiction I just said like we can look
it up if you want I just want I want to
say my my mom of us is a social worker
and has
been years specialty is addiction right
which of the podcast by the way speaking
about addictions right she she has
explained to me many times that an
addiction is something that you either
can't live without or or it like it it
interrupts your day-to-day life
Trier and he act he acts on it
like because he had to go out to smoke
or to watch
or yeah right
yeah that you say who
like it it just does crazy things in
your day that then disturb your day
takes away your focus from whatever you
were trying to do
um bad
habits smoked out of a bad but addicted
right um which by the way it's good to
have the awareness as
addictive the nature to be more
addictive than other than other right
right we touch the Bas mention was do
some kind of addiction towards
overeating yeah I didn't know that
considered an
addiction addiction by the way just so
you know that there's always unresolved
issues to go back and heal like trauma
specific add yeah the specific addiction
usually also comes back to
specific developed out of the specific
pain to
smoking so think about it a cigarette is
you taking for five minutes deep breath
which calms your nervous system which
people don't understand it and the Z
Minch that does this um is usually also
not going to take V filters we
desperately at have the cigarette yet
he's quitting process he's not usually
most people maybe do
some five minute breathing deep
breathing then I don't have to go out
already and take the five minutes bre
I'll do it later smoke anyway yeah this
as maybe now would be the good idea to
take those five five minute deep breath
right but again got solving the
addiction it's not even close to to
solving the addiction yeah um but but
any any
addiction stressful plots um and and
they're isolated they feel alone they
they they they feel hopeless towards the
Z that they're stressed about whatever
emotional Cyclone they on and um and
they they meet something that makes them
feel good oh wow that releases so much
dopamine and and spikes it so high yeah
and Z brain just associate
the way out is this right so the next
time even if it's not an
addic their brain just tells
them yeah and they might be
like I don't want to do it
again
experience expence flowing get but I
know it's not good for my body it's not
good it could be addictive I don't want
to do it and the Brain that part
that just begs for it and at some point
he's like
okay
right awareness we'll get to the step
two I'm just curious in your opinion why
do you
think why is it that the men are tend to
have most of these addictions because we
know that clearly gamblers smokers more
than women gamblers smokers or even
Watchers like we know that these are 80%
90% men so o and triggers then why is
itpp go by
maybe so so so in in in under in
addictions V like drugs I'm not so
confident that this is the case even if
it is I wouldn't know the answer
yeah but I'm not regarding drugs I'm not
so
confident
cor number one between the people that I
know it's equal
[Music]
between
occasion addicted also equal amount of
men and like
festivals um this is towards drugs
towards towards alcohol I would say same
maybe maybe aloh maybe maybe it's do a
difference I don't know what the
difference would be but again is
different as a
dude High I'm not
saying man I'm just saying like I don't
know what I do know about the watching
part what you asked this is something
that I do
know mention um
the the
videos the M the men's desires and
Fantasies
and designed designed
videos
vide correct but they probably started
this because they knew that the get
Target right but the point I get I get
what you're saying but the gun idea
designed but the point is that know you
that know that you're a target of
it most of the time
[Music]
a positive rush I get the feeling maybe
shame like whatever is wrong and I don't
want to do it again yeah Al they never
got addicted to it for whatever reason
the point is females
objects oh wow and and yeah is is
designed for the man's fantasy
specifically for the unhealthy man right
for the man who is self-centered in
theal he needs to satisfy his ego right
while hurt and he never healed right
okay but so they are fascinating that
that these things come out of an
emotional place I mean something that I
knew but it gets clearer and that's of
this conversation for me and for the
rest of people
like any addiction will usually come
back to
something distraction whatever it is
whether of nicotine whether
Al Whatever It Is any addiction is an
escape okay so yeah you want to say
something smok at the later times before
I
quit and the idea and I used to tell it
to people
like
Cal and the filter yeah um I also used
to smoke the
okay so at some point in the later
stages right before
quitting you know
what I'm not talking about stopping
continue kind
of out
of for the
cigarette cigarette yeah continue
cigarettes right the compulsive
Behavior again uncomfortable situation
right aggravated about something
lost cigarette sometimes of people yeah
it tells a whole story but sometimes
like specifically smoked a bunch yeah
it's like the cig coming out of nowhere
right thought it's just awareness that's
the anybody addicted to
any
smoked bad behaviors and if it's a
repeated thing ask
while the
IDE EAS
right is cigarettes then it's going to
take me to cigarettes it's not going to
be like oh got B Legos yeah because I
never thought about building Legos for a
long time so
which you know personally I know a
fascinating guy
and so he's for him it's like the
millennial is the Oldtimer you know and
he
like
yeah perspective obviously but
the the the
newcomer whatever
like system mention system that do wrong
things and the system and
is regarding watching these kind of
things in addicted to act on when you
watch like
okay when you get to that place
literally ask yourself the qu what was
what happened before
that why why is that happening and to me
that was a huge like Awakening it was a
huge
like that I didn't feel either good
enough or loved by my own self as side
escape and
like um so he actually helped me
tremendously specific like just to
notice because I feel in the months
afterwards you
know I I still if if I were to
watch question so and sometimes they
just say
Okay so that was just uh it's a big
awareness for the because they can help
any men do like we're not telling
anybody to quit anything just notice and
perhaps we're not telling them to notice
as well we're just talking about a good
idea it's a good idea
exactly if if they want right um by the
way this is one of the steps in the
recovery process is to
notice in order so I can eliminate so I
can deal
withal so for
examp was is addicted to
cocaine
sad cocaine developed throughout the
years
whatever blah blah blah point
is got got
anyway right before he takes that hit he
asks himself what was the last thing
that before
thegg sadness about XY and
Z sadness
about denominator
a pattern
yeah
sadness a particular
thing not good enough
right I want to feel desirable you
wanted to feel desirable but
but work around it because this is not
how it initially looks
like what's happening
I didn't feel good
enough what really happened for me
inside meaning say a lot of people will
watch this a lot of people are not used
to do the work
[Music]
so right what does this tell me about
me does it take me back to childhood
specific message every time this
happened right right which comes back to
not being good
enough right away yeah for a while
exactly oh thank you yeah oh this mind
yeah um for a while my therapist been
addicted to
overthinking 12ep process and I was
considering it by the way
um had the most intense uh anxiety and
was even I think even a little bit
depressed at that
time um but it brushed
over I learned how to co
better and and this is probably why it
helped you the
idea addicted recovery
program
right he knows instead of
in recovery he wants to stop it he wants
to live a different life maybe calls it
a better life right I would call it a
better life maybe some people won't I
don't think so um my smoking story okay
yeah okay we're trying
on so so in the process is having a
therapist a counselor or something a
coach whatever something to really go in
deep in the story about his sadness why
why it takes him in such a low place
that he needs to escape it in the moment
meaning say needs to be
instant isni Coke which from their point
of view I get it it's not that we that's
why I said we can't judge it we cannot
understand someone that has the
addiction so so quick question healing
addiction is always going down to the
emotional part of it
100% healing the addiction is the action
of the surface
level
correct overing St
overing right
either yeah wow so so being done
overthinking and therapist and you said
it brushed
off but at the same time which he didn't
mention when these days at the same time
until it brushed off you did a lot of
therapy around it so the trigger the
trigger of what took you in there
meaning within
yourself right right you meanwhile
worked on feeling safe within yourself
so the anxiety
feel feels right that's the idea great
realization okay
my challenge not to not
watch it correct and not act on it and
we're over a month in I can say for me
my my life change like day and night
because my confidence level is so much
better relationship just My overall
confidence so I'm proud to say
that specifically but the
overall um and you saying this is way
more worth to me than a lot of other
people saying this
for a long
time yeah obviously
accept people will say some people will
say right and and but the fact is the
fact is
that any point
challenge a challenge because I want to
right
experience like to a whole new level
like
literally like
blessings and I believe
them but but the words I used
was challenge with a positive attitude %
of the time that I've never heard from
someone 100% of the
time I've never heard from
someone
Cheng
attitude 90 days0 days Z
zero I've spoken to a lot of people
struggles okay especially as a coach you
deal close ass friends assignment the
clients okay so that was that
challenge alcohol was was something for
me I used to drink alcohol I used to use
alcohol to numb myself by the way day
trade and stocks and stuff like that
and would come home and drink
alcol so uh that wasn't for a long time
I was never I was never addicted I feel
to the
watch I wasn't very addicted so I can't
understand other people but I can I
could talk about the positive change
that I did and that I made and the
effect that it had regarding smoking in
Yesa growing up smok because I felt
like attention I couldn't stand
that smoking is not gonna make it for me
and for me I was yeah and right and for
me I was like okay I can I can push it
off till 20 right so on my 20th birthday
okay my guy smoking I right away
smoking so for a while I would smoke SM
I was okay with it with this but it
wasn't interesting for me so I said
Vapes Vapes you care seven years ago
Vapes
tanks the
flavors and yeah
and
flavor caola flavor Cherry BM Apple
bomb and I was hooked on
it it was a tremendous good
feel yeah and
je was slim and
Sleek
exactly it was so cool and and
everything so I was very addicted
smoked which is the equivalent of a pack
or two packs a day maybe so I was highly
highly
addicted um and then I also kind of uh
quit cold
turkey okay take 72 hours anywh smoking
elic smoking the cigar smoking the Vapes
correct so just
qu gas St gas
St and then from there I never Vaped
again soap
and I can truly understand the feeling
but it's truly
unhealthy it was it was just a terrible
addiction
yeah oh
wow okay
okay into the
je mango with strawberry flavor in the
gas station doing
Lakewood because the government cracked
down
on so
officially basically FL H mango flavor
strawberry flavor and the government
say mentions on
quitt Mango strawberry what's going on
you're attracting kids with this right
and this is still a problem going on you
have 12year old or younger they say the
government like do like something legal
a legal
step real
smoking a lot
did no I think in the beginning they
really did
electric is best the actual
smoke correct that's what about to
say that oh my God like electric
chemical
smoke regular cigarette it's very
interesting people should understand
yeah people should understand alcohol
shopping the AL because shopping can be
an addiction
shopping obviously watching these kind
of
vide especially smoking and alcohol like
these things are made for
some and they promote this and they they
push it out
movies and reality it's so
unhealthy excessively no
[Music]
NE
whatever
Lally
yeah by the way for the liver y okay
this is this is just a side effect
yeah um
but
the right yeah so and according to a lot
of doctors which
is opinion over the but according to a
lot of
doctors of the weekend obviously say
health
and days okay I agree on that but it's
very unhealthy alcohol for the simple
reason that it changes the way we think
so why mess with that like I
was drugs that changes though yeah
yeah joke joke of the day yeah um the
Old Williamsburg battle has a bridge
yeah the
joke I was gonna ask was the joke say it
as the reason for old V
Bridge Picture Bridge of the bottle is
[Laughter]
because yeah besides that I don't I
don't understand how people like it they
they I
never when I was because we used to
go and they walked
around literally like drink cup
the next day
hang like literally I was just drinking
it out of the bottle and I didn't feel
anything I to
hangover yeah but uh it was yeah alcohol
was it sounded like it was fun but do
movies promoting this like the watching
in
right is just really to paint on a
picture yeah same yeah exactly retail
therapy which means that shopping is
therapy retail therapy because it
actually makes you feel
good theory that guy shopping is feeling
better of course gu shopping because
they want you to to spend money so
in whole pharmaceutical industry
got some pills they make a lot of money
they make a lot of money and
unfortunately yeah money runs
conversation for itself a
mention
right so question for you if you want to
go in there you recently healed from
cancer yeah at which point
treatment I'm very
curious
the foods by the way unhealthy Foods is
it's a business cereals sugary
candies that you put into body in by the
way soap
chemicals
the of like an addiction idea Diet
Coke Health Foods don't do that Diet
Coke unbelievable okay so yeah your
treatments yeah um I'm just assuming I
don't
know um
treatment I was thinking about it I do
believe the body the capability
naturally heal the
[Music]
concept right I
believe that anything
was conly
capabilities something that he doesn't
want us to
do he feeds us life while we do it we
have to be grateful for that as well
right
sometimes yeah but it's a fact and at
the same
time and the capabilities to fix right
yeah some things are irreversible but on
that scenario of an IR reversing is do
is do an opportunity to grow on it
above some
bits but can
somehow
exactly um being that said so naturally
can produce cancer yeah strongly believ
as can naturally heal
yeah heal yeah
right
correct which is much more extreme they
just don't go to
theor
Fever stomach virus right right a
constipation a diarrhea so many things
right so many things
but at the same
time that in order for me to do it I
need to understand something very deep
which
is as in my unconscious
decisions
physically that I need to change and do
the opposite in order to heal and I felt
that it's a time sensitive thing
diagnosed I don't want to wait Andy yet
if it's if it's if that I need to do
every day five hours of breathing wow
right which by the way this is just a
joke I don't think that would be the
idea maybe it would I don't know maybe
10 hours a day of meditation I have no
idea the point is research this also
probably would have worked but
you I didn't want to experiment with my
own
cancer
theat so I will tell you that I will
tell you that Tom ban a millionaire at
that point
I was thinking about
it unlimited funds I would try to reach
out and make an appointment and sit down
and
zance
like naturally I would give him that
chance we would make a time
frame you're going to see some results
then I would make that time frame of
three months and after 3 months I would
go and and check again what's up right
um but I do believe as as
about it so I decided to go with the
way my
subconscious correct although is a
painful and a lot of people by the way
when they die from cancer it's not so
much from the cancer than from what the
chemo does to them wow right
and and
confident is a part from a journey that
I need to go through in order to be able
to be the person that I am today so I
can help
others um so I felt very good about it I
felt like yeah I got this
whatever go through you know
like okay you answered my
question a vape as a vape
which
is
don't
anyway anyway the design V
is color whatever based on the flavor
the
tip is see through
plastic see through yeah
and this went on for
days at least
days second I second
like what's
happening the insides
whatever whatever it is wow and no
wonder
begin
with sad
depress how do you feel he's like
whatever why and woke
up yeah so was
happy people are don't appreciate it um
I've been like that at some point yeah
yeah so so
so was
like I kept on smoking
cigarettes cigarettes is different right
um so meaning as B is the the lungs
whatever
officially is different just this is
just smoke which by the way not to
minimize the bad Z yeah but they Inhale
Smoke
which smoke probably oil or whatever it
was
and they smoke is like so I don't know
if it creates like some in the I don't
know about that that was just just my
imagination but
anyway the
concept
cigarettes um okay
so nice conversation we were an hour
in acknowledging an addiction the is
noticing what comes up before the
addiction before you act on the
addiction what comes up noticing also a
little bit what the story
is smoker why do I want it did did I do
it because all my friends do it did I do
it because my father does it did I do it
because I think it's cool and it's going
to supposed to T hand right correct um
to bring this full circle and to kind of
I don't know wrap it up o mcken shine is
there is there more o more steps or
other steps that you can share not as a
professional but as a healing addiction
yeah in healing
addiction acknowledging the addiction
and noticing you have to reach
out step for a lot of people because
because it's the nature of Step by the
way n so one of the first steps okay
like there is no there is no starting
your recovery process without going for
help okay I never knew that so
Z the difference between bad habit kind
of and addiction so talking about right
now about
addiction
okay um and the nature of anything that
it's that's an addiction is that it
isolates the person the person carries
around a lot of shame maybe
unconsciously maybe they're not even
aware of it and they isolate they they
make it it's secretive and they tell
themselves
that if someone would to know really
deeply the truth as deep as I know the
truth about me I would be judged I would
not be accepted there is no help for me
available there is no there is no
forgiveness for me and I would not be
accepted in any kind of way I would not
fit in I would lose my family my friends
Community uh respect as a human I would
not so I have to be secretive about it
and that's wrong it's not true it's
totally not true it's an actual lie yeah
because judgment and and and and feeling
and behavior response whatever it is but
mention the right people will make you
feel
understood validated and support you
which is the most important Z Recovery
Addiction in addiction recovery is the
is the support this is what comes
in for help is do a steps so do the step
and actually G and heal the emotions
that we touched based on
so in the 12 step
program Al
Anonymous
whatevers
ANM
um the idea is group of people was kind
of rela to each
other wow okay
the Temptation and the impulse
is right A lot of people would think
yeah okay
yeah the addict will know that this is
literally how they feel sometimes yeah
right um so so the going for help
includes the emotional level it includes
the the the the group was like was
latency was obviously was healing
Journey recovery they were just
encourage me to continue on the Act
Right which is going to be very bad for
my recovery right um uh uh to say the
least you
know um and and obviously Zan like this
is a therapist this is a coun coach
Mentor I don't care whoever you feel you
can
trust you you you whoever whoever
listens to
this um is to have someone that can
support you you need to have someone
that is
available physically yeah at all times
so so
so group and Hees to
call you
know nice to see you again see you next
week and
by friend right
because they understand how it works
that they're
available impulse at 3:00 a.m. I don't
feel guilty of calling them because I
know that they're there to help me and
they understand that this is how it
works and I'm supposed to
call if not I'm going to have the
relapse I need to be able to call and
talk about it this is people under
underr
the power about it how's it going to
help me try
it and we're not going to hang up the
phone until you tell me that you're good
to go okay and I do it I do
it amount
of 2 A.M 3: a.m. 4 a.m.
you so but but I am available for that I
do that right and the mention was for a
living other other
other they they are available for that
and this is a very important so in
regards of the addiction process um
recovery from addiction it's very
important and it's one of the first
steps
otherwise go reaching out for the help
you're can to have the you're going to
have the right guidance what is the next
step what you need to do the
this is this is the first step you need
to do the awareness is obviously always
the first step but the next step the
first step of action yeah would be to
reach out to someone that is a
professional that knows what they're
doing and and reach out for the help on
that regarding bad habits oh yeah
regarding bad
habits you don't need to go to a group
and check in hi I'm oi and I I'm an
alcohol addict alcoholic whatever but
um um but I would totally recommend you
healing right right while bad habits
gets developed
and pl brain associate brain associate
bad habit was get some kind of Joy see I
release a negative experience without
the negative experience if I heal it I
wouldn't need I wouldn't have the need
to go there right right without when
we're not talking about an Impulse this
is just bad habits yeah so for us okay
theep asking for help and talking about
it which is I think the strongest form
of acknowledgement by the way action
probably but is what's the step after
asking for help is action yeah asking
for help is action asking for help is
one of the hardest actions right
absolutely correct yeah so is there
another thing that somebody should
because I think that whoever listened
until now um not even knowing or wanting
to help them I think we kind of came
full circle to a place
where okay 12 steps and I don't think is
discussing right now not that it's not
Val I think it helped a tremendous
amount of people this is the
most for addiction recovery for any
addiction right so but it includes what
I mentioned it includes the the
acknowledging everything it includes the
reaching out for help and being in a
support system that's available for you
you that you feel that you can relate to
that you trust um uh but but again this
says do so many details and at some
point it also gets personalized based on
the addiction of the person and based on
the level of the addiction and what the
triggers are right once you go for the
help for the right help you go to you
have your counselor your therapist your
coach whatever your group with people
that know what they're doing when it
comes to these type of of things then
you're set up because they'll help you
on your personalized Journey so
but might be totally irrelevant to
someone else correct and I and I might
not mention something that is very
relevant to someone else but because for
me it's irrelevant or I'm not aware of
it and is there a difference between in
your opinion quitting quitting cold
turkey and going off slow um some people
it works that way for some people it
works that way
okay again once you start with the right
counseling with the right Mentor with
the right guidance and support then you
do whatever works for you again with
that support you'll see right right
while they Tom Mentor coach whatever
therapist knows what really knows what
they're doing they will not let you fool
yourself
so addiction and you're really not ready
to let go of it they'll call you out on
your BS W versus actually
drugs the withdrawals could be dangerous
wow right like the body needs
[Music]
itness personally I think I don't
remember witnessing it but I've I've
encountered in the idea a few times
watching videos listening to mention
some about it
um
turkey process physically physically
like shaked and feeling pain pain
literally miserable
physically
mindset they
cleansing but I know it's a miserable
process yeah okay I if the most
empowering alcoholic addict alcohol
because I in the 12 step process to
become better and that's why obviously
get and he became
very Millions for
mention
but yet
so this is just to valid give it meaning
yeah to valid I do struggles right and
so I'm just here to
validate addiction like I
said you know what it was worth it
because it's very powerful
therapy and as you said reach out for
help I'm sorry that that happened to you
and unfortunately a lot of people don't
reach out a big percentage of people
don't reach out to help because they
feel like the help either messed them up
or wasn't the right help or it wasn't uh
you know somebody betrayed them and I
want to just I want to validate
that unfortunately as mention with and
MAV Z careful the main thing is don't
stop at that don't let that bad person
stop you now from having that life that
you want like go for after go after what
you deserve and and gu help because at
the end of the day know that is
available yeah no as help is available
at the end of the day it's going to
change you um mosh I think you shared
really tremendous beautiful things than
you so did you thank you and
going into the
conversation in terms of health mention
addictions I know that a lot of people
reached out to me recently telling me
about things they're going through
and you know conversation
withc
hopefully because
a and that's why I was very careful with
the language that we used the words that
we
mentioned
conversation is
Avail
yeah
so I wanted to say
um but
uh and and act on
it
this addiction MH specifically in the
communi MH which people are not even
aware of how bad it
is yeah just do it yeah sometimes other
a lot of the times but
whatever will
we're not going to go into it right now
but
research the the negative the negative
consequences and
results
ums mhm I'll put it that way yeah it's
it's fascinating and give a but it's
it's true andake
is under the rug yeah right because then
a person feels like okay this is
something that I can't talk about to
anyone
right strugg anyway which basically I'm
doomed
there is no way back for me so
whatever
yeah and feel like okay you know
what yeah so just m that research I I'm
not saying you you should challenge
yourself and stop
whatever which I would encourage you and
support I'm
available but um other under mention
available for if you want someone else
whatever
like but that's for sure like research
yeah okay that's it yeah that's it um
yes I'm I'm just going to go ahead and
say again say
do
mention was feeling heard and supported
and understood and loved
and in
ension passionate about it
says podcast and just feel
but feelings
and senstive topic any any kind of
