international let us Begin by welcoming our judges of today's event the creators of the yadis curriculum rabbis Alman Glick Rabbi Shalom Lane Rabbi Ley zurin and Rabbi YF zurin and to our right on this stage we have three on this stage we have three out of our six teams to the right team Yad kazaka with 3,000 508 points that they have accumulated throughout the shabbaton and in the middle and Center Stage we have team saera mitz with 3,43 points that they too have accumulated throughout the days of Theon shabon and on our left we have Team P 3,000 425 points sitting over here on our first level we have the contestants from the fourth grade who studied yah's book number one which contains 86 Mitzvah from the rambam from the swarm of Mada and aava one row up in our second row we have the fifth graders who studied yada's book number two which contains 145 Mitzvah from this of and a continuing up the stage on our third row we have the sixth graders which studied yada's book number three which contains the next 145 Mitzvah from this far of Zim and a one more row up on our fourth row we have the seventh graders who have studied yah's book number four covering 122 Mitzvah from continuation of a carban Taris and isin and finally on our top row we have the eighth graders who have studied yah's book number one in depth containing the 86 Mitzvah from Mada and aava book number five which contains the rest of the 613 Mitzvah from this Farm of Kenyan MIM and shim was just released and was not available when the Kon began seven months ago however it has just been published and the yadas set is now complete and eighth grade next year will amem study yahadus book number five and now for the rules of the international game show Championship I'd like to welcome everybody to round one featuring our first three teams we're going to ask a question to one grade at a time beginning with the fourth graders on the bottom row moving our way up to stage here are the rules rule number one after a question is asked a team that knows the answer needs to press their buzzer whichever team presses the buzzer first they get to say the answer rule number two teams have only 15 seconds to press the buzzer to earn full points after 15 seconds the question will be worth half the amount of points rule number three once the buzzer is pressed by a team they have 45 seconds to Prov provide a complete answer to the question rule number four if the answer is correct that team will earn 100 points which will be reflected on the scoreboards and if the answer is wrong or incomplete they will lose 100 points in the fourth grade we are going to start with you but just before we start I want everybody to get familiar with the buzzer sound so I'm going to ask sa for a the number five 12 and abas Ken how does five 12 and abas Ken connect to mitz and it goes to safer team safer how did the number five and 12 and abas connect to mitvah five sheep five sheep is the Le is the minimum you amount have to have to give it to to be okay 12 12 for each each sleep has to produce 12 SL of wool that's correct basen basen um you can get cut if it's not people then that um top left it must be twoim is one condition they must be men two uh they have to be from the same city that's three for the same shavit four they have to uh convince 100 people from shav it they can't convince less uh they have to convince less the majority you named at least six of the conditions for a city to become anas plus 100 points for team pish our next round of questions is going to be the bonus round and each question will now be worth 150 points this question is going to be an open-ended question which means we're going to ask you to name how many Mitzvah that you could think of that are connect to a specific category for example this is just an example it's not your question name how many Mitzvah in your book have to do with bread each team is going to get their own question each worth 150 points and now for the rules of this open-ended round rule number one your team has 60 seconds to write down as many Mitzvah as possible that you can come up with as a team together each of you have a paper with lines and a pen and someone who is designated to be the cipher The Scribe for the team rule number two Mitzvah must be written down each on its own separate line in order for us to count it and we're going to come on stage to see if it's there rule number three writing a broad term will only count as one if you want to get more points you write all the specifics of that Mitzvah so for example if you're going to write carbon you're only get one point but if you'll write the carb mus of rashash and the carb mus of Yer and the car mus of sukus and you list them each In Their Own Line you will get a point for each one rule number four if you're in middle of writing a Mitzvah when the 60 seconds are up and you're asked to drop your pens the judges will be the one to decide if that Mitzvah should be counted or not so you're going to work now together as a team and you're going to write down as many Mitzvah as possible fourth graders as soon as you hear your question you could start writing right away and pay attention to what your question is cuz each grade is getting their own question fifth graders when you hear your question you could also start writing right away and then the same for the sixth seventh and eighth graders eighth graders when I finish asking you your question that's when the 60-second timer will start and everybody can write for 60 seconds until you hear me say the words drop your pens we have a question if one asking a carbon if you um are you asking for example like uh specifically like a carbon from T the that I ask you carbonet would be the right answer and all the carbonet would fit that category you're going to have to write each carbon if you want to get full points if you want if you write just carbonis and say that I know the nine mfim that won't count you have to list each one I'm asking is because it could be certain c um like uh certain carb like carbon which is which could be like under the category of carbon you'll figure it out when you get your question you'll see all right last question what you'll see the questions very clear you'll be able to figure it out right now you don't have to write the whole name of the Mitzvah because it's not a writing competition you have to write enough words on your paper that we knew which Mitzvah you were referring to so you could write one or two words so let's say let's use carbonis as our example you could write M shab you don't have to write carbon Etc okay we are ready and our first question goes to the fourth graders as soon as you hear it you could start writing pay attention to your question name all the Mitzvah that are punished punishable by malus in your book fifth graders name all the Mitzvah that have details associated with the number three all the Mitzvah that have details with the number three sixth graders name all the Mitzvah that are related to shita or Y seventh graders name all the Mitzvah that are associated only with sheep Lambs or Rams sheep Lambs or Rams only with those eighth graders name all the Mitzvah that can be fulfilled through speech and all the Li to say that you could be I transgressed through called shabus and a and that's how they were referred to amongst us today we have 521 contestants who have spent months memorizing and mastering the 613 Mitzvah they learned it so well that it became the books what it took for everybody to come here today is so incredible over 6 months ago of dedicated their free time to learning T and studying the sa mitv of the r at every opportunity whether it was in the early mornings throughout recess or when they came home from school in the evenings and of course all throughout chabas they even made sure to utilize every free moment even instead of waiting around between daving mus and making kidish as a coordinator I get to see firsthand how thez can truly transform a child a class or Yesa to see theim so involved in the learning with such gak helping each other out with such AAS always with their yadas book in hand is a true kesem and a beautiful sight The Unbelievable growth of the is the biggest and greatest testimony to how amazing and successful the MIT program is just two years years ago in schas there were 229 contestants last year in schas hakel there was 634 contestants and after having such a beautiful and incredible Kon shabbaton last year and a beautiful kedon event thousands of kept the promise they made and began learning for this year's Kon at the beginning of this year 282 Kum set out to learn for this year's and took took the very first test after three very challenging pre-qualifying tests 1,45 524 girls 521 boys earned the opportunity to join the international Kon shabon we are so proud of all the 2082 that dedicated their free time to learning Tyra and we hope you'll go for it again next year and we look forward to welcoming you at the next year we are sure that in the of all this extra learning we take a look at our beautiful stage up here it has just been transformed from a game show stage to an award platform amongst us today amongst the 521 contestants 120 of them approximately are representatives from their school which means they got the top two marks in each grade from their school and they're here today to represent their school at the onset of the kedon when all the contestants took a final they took that final and an additional 35 question extremely tough final the judges used their hardest questions to try to have this competition and this was an international competition amongst the school Representatives where the top Mark will be awarded with the gold trophy the second to Top Mark in each grade will be awarded with the silver Trophy and the third to the top Mark will be awarded with the bronze trophy so listen up contestants you don't know who you are if you're called up as a bronze Trophy winner you please come on to center stage and rabbe we bound will present you with your trophy and then you make your way up and if you're in fourth grade you're going to sit right over here this side of the stage will be Trophy and we're going to do all the trophy bronze first fourth grade fifth grade sixth grade seventh eth then we're going to do the silver trophies on the left side of the stage we ask you to come get your trophy in the middle make your way on the stage and go to your position the right grade that you're in and finally we will announce the gold Trophy winners to come to the [Music] center it is very possible that in any particular position with all the hard questions that were there there was a tie and the judges cannot eliminate anybody so it's possible that we will have a few bronze trophy of fourth grade and a few gold
