Beshalach 5786: Amalek and Its Strange Eternal War

Clearly something major is happening when the Torah reports about the war with Amalik and the victory that Clai had over Amik at the end of this week's para. What is going on? Welcome to the Shalom on all para for paras in the end of this week's para mole comes and they fight with and the progression of things that happen there are really quite strange. The Reb points out first of all we see that it's the main enemy of Kali Israel. We we understand them to be the epic uh arch rival if you will of Israel and that Hashem says Malik mean there is a war between Hashem and Malik from every generations. But how can there be a war between Hashem and anything? Hashem can just wipe out uh nations and wipe out the the great masters like and so how can there be an eternal war as though there's something going back and forth between Hashem and Amalik. But moreover, if Amalik is so terrible then why didn't we totally wipe them out? And anyway, what makes them so terrible? They don't seem to be a major army. They're just this group coming for this fight at this time. We don't hear much more from them later on and talk about their great army. In fact, the Reb says that it's brought in that they were a uh a a a a a nation that can be described as lowly. So much so that Yeshua when he fights them, Mosha says to him, "Choose some of our men, not go out and take all of our people and give the full fight just of some of our men that sadikim amongst us will be the ones who will defeat them." So what what's going on here? It seems so different. And moreover, we know that when the says that the hand uh of and and the throne, there's a hand on the throne of Hashem. Kazal tell us that the hand on the throne of Hashem means that Hashem's name and Hashem's throne are uh incomplete so long as a Malik is in the world, which implies that it was incomplete even before the fight and now it's incomplete after. One would think that if you've already wiped out all the strong people, you could easily eradicate the weak ones. Now, there's no strong ones to defend against them. So the Reb explains that from all of this it should be obvious that the fight with Amalik is not a regular war. It's not just a simple gashi war between two nations, one with this army and one with that army. But something more is going on here and that is that this war is a spiritual war. This is a war of that which stands for the destruction of the knowledge of Hashem in the world and that which stands for the promotion and and acknowledgement of in this world. In fact, the Reb says here in many other places that the whole purpose of calling Israel, the whole purpose of the universe is the tikun, the correction, the the arrival that mankind would know, something that could have been achieved in the time of but was not. And the Reb says in many places that Israel through begin the now had commanded Israel that they would go down to Mits. Why was that necessary to to to form us to be to to to become great? But it was ultimately there in order to leave to the tikun. And now Malik of course knew this that the ultimate correction of the world, the redemption of the world, the purpose of the universe was going to be realized.
