Nothing like a father’s wisdom

I'm here with my dad who built a million dollar a year business from absolutely scratch and he's going to tell you exactly how he did it in the next 60 seconds. >> I was the world's biggest micromanage. I had a key employee that quit on me. And I ran to her house to beg her to come back to work and I said, "Why is it that you quit?" She said to me, "You might be the best salesman we have, you might be the best financial guy we have, you might be the best truck driver we have, but when you try and do all those jobs together you don't really do any of them very well. You should let us do our jobs, let us make our mistakes, hire the best people that you could find. And then if you want to be critical of the finished product then we can clean that product up. If you're going to micromanage us it's not going to work." And she happened to be completely right. Once I made that change the business took off like a rocket. And the other thing that's also very, very important is if you're making money in your business and you're successful you got to give back to the community and help people that are less successful than you. And when you do that you'll see the rewards of giving back to your community and giving back to the people that work for you. Beautiful. I cannot do more. I cannot do more better than that. That one was a good one. That one was a good one.
