good morning thank you for joining me on
my walk to work I want to talk about
employee turnover alright nothing to be
more damaging to the morale of a company
than turning over employees nothing puts
a company in more uncertainty than when
people leave or even sometimes when new
people come in but that is a fact of
life Google right now after you got the
phone me Google Google what the average
tenure is of a millennial all right
you'll see different opinions but it's
generally about 1.2 years the average
millennial that somebody 34 years and
younger stays in a job and we've had
turnover at wealthy commercials the team
that I have today is very different than
the first team that I had when I started
I'm two and a half years into this game
so that means my my my staff is turned
over not twice but probably wanted a
half times and when people leave scares
people happens in every single business
I tell them I say to my employees right
it's very important at that time that
the boss steps up and the owner steps up
and he says to the people I say this my
people all the time I say to them hey
listen when you see me scared that's
when you get scared I tell us to my wife
also all the time when you see me scared
that's when you start to get scared a
good boss in those times what is he
gonna do he's gonna give strength to the
people he's going to give confidence to
the people I usually give bonuses to the
people around me I sit down with the
people around me I tell them how great
that they're doing I tell them what a
good job they're doing reinforced their
confidence reinforced the stability and
get on hiring new people as soon as
humanly possible and make sure that
their stability in the company and
shored up and the boss of the company
everybody in the company for that matter
has to work ten times at heart as hard
in those moments to keep everything
going because what happens is eventually
you're going to find somebody usually
that person is better brighter faster
fresher brings new ideas brings new
blood into the system and it usually
being a blessing in disguise so if
you're having turnover in your office
right now whether you're the boss firm
up and if you're an employee or a talent
or a staff member firm yourself up to go
to your boss say hey listen boss I know
this a little bit of turbulence right
now but I just want to let you know I'm
with you brother I'm with you sister
watch how much that goes watch how much
your boss appreciates that when they see
that you're a team member that they
could count on they're gonna love you
for it
and by the way I'm not saying it's wrong
to leave a company you're allowed to
it's a free world people should go chase
their dreams people should go you know
explore their horizons but not
necessarily is it always better at the
next place right sometimes it's better
to stay where you are and grow and build
something strong with a strong
foundation
anyways put a smile on the face ladies
gentlemen it's part of life business
ain't easy that's why we're in it that's
why we're into winning god bless have a
great day
