How the scrap metal recycling business works.

I was in the area my father's company is my father Jeff Solomon and I wanted to show you guys a little tour of his business this is where I learned 90% of my business skills is right here under this man so dad why don't you give us a little tour and show us what you're about wow that's a lot of credit I really appreciate that all right so let's go let's go around and I'll show you some of the different materials that were these materials here believe it or not are drilling heads that are used in the mining industry and those holes that they drill to get those metals that you need to make your television sets and make your cutlery and make your cars start out as a hole that's drilled by these type of machines will extract tungsten carbide out of them we'll be able to recycle the steel and instead of this stuff just ending up in a field somewhere in behind a mind that somebody forgot about this stuff will be converted into usable products that will help reduce the carbon footprint of our planet very very important recycling why don't you show is the final product on the other side I will show you a final product yeah how do you start this business I actually started I had a friend of mine that father was in the business and he took me on as a helper he needed some manual labor and I just enjoyed the work so much and I he just enjoyed seeing the machinery and meeting the people and and and I really just felt very blessed to be able to help out my environment my environment of life I've been a recycler since I'm 18 years old I'm 64 years old I was recycling before anybody knew really what undistorted recycling was and and every time that we save a pound is a pound is one pound of metal can be 2,000 pounds of soil that has to be disturbed just to end up with 1 pound of metal we have it right here it's on the floor this is the final product about you're just showing us yeah these these these nuggets that you see here are the Nuggets that were extracted out of that big steel head that you saw it's a very complicated process but prior to us doing this type of work people were just taking this and they were selling at his regular scrap steel but the tungsten is is a strategic metal and it's very very hard to come by and we don't want we don't want foreign countries controlling the amount of strategic metals that we have when we have a goldmine right here so why not take advantage of it and how much is this material worth this material is worth approximately $10 a pound and you have roughly 3,000 pounds sitting on that pallet very nice so that small pallet is 30,000 pounds $30,000 of material and if you had to mine this material you would probably have to displace 50 60 thousand tons of the planet to end up with that material and here all we have to do is just pull it out of those steel shells nice and clean no smoke no co2 discharge and reduce carbon footprint well dad thank you so much for the tour of your business please vote in the comments below whose presentations you like better you'd appreciate it
