The Mitzvah for Shabbos Parshas Va'eirah - #305 to require an oath when there is partial agreeance

and welcome to another edition of The Daily sa Mitzvah is this time the mitzvah for today uh today's Mitzvah we have again once again as we did yesterday the same mitzvah for the rabinal courts to adjudicate properly any kind of financial dispute and we're going to have this mitzvah for the next few days so just a little details one of the ways that a court can settle a financial dispute is when somebody makes a claim against someone else you owe me $1,000 they will say to the defendant make an oath which is a very very big deal that what you're CLA claiming is correct and not what the guy who's claiming against you that he's correct but you don't just right away make a person give an oath an oath is a big deal if a person accosts another guy on the street and says hey you owe me money and the guy goes I don't even know who you are the court doesn't require that guy to make an oath if he was if he had admitted to a fraction of what he's being accused of then we require him to make an oath because he has accepted upon himself the fact that there is some kind of a business between these two people but that he's making a wrong claim so he has to swear that what he's saying is the correct claim
