and welcome to today's daily mitzvah. Today we have one mitzvah positive commandment number 171 and it is the positive commandment for every single man every single year to give one half shekel to the bam mikt to the temple coffers. Um this mitzvah is an obligation while the temple bes mikt is standing and we pray for the day when we will once again be obligated to donate every year a half a shekel. Um, and this is a good time to remind everyone that the reason why if you're asking the reason why the mitzvah that we are saying each day are not going in order in in number order, we keep jumping around the numbers. The reason is because in the mitzvah the Rambam wrote the list in order in the Mishna where he goes through all the details of the mitzvah one by one and detail details. It goes in order of application and we go together with the learning of the Mishna. So, we jump around the number of the mitzvah, but we go in the order of the Mishna. I hope that explains it.
