number one we are commanded to inspect birds or foul or Our Feathered Friends to make sure that they do not possess any of the signs for non-kosherness what are the signs for non-kosher Birds well Torah doesn't specify but the Torah does give us the authoritative list comprehensive list of the birds that are not Kosher and if you study them a little bit you can identify certain identifying uh qualities that they have which make them non-kosher if you see a bird that has any of those you know that it's not Kosher Mitzvah number two to identify to inspect grasshoppers for eating them there are Kosher grasshoppers look into that that's very interesting bits for number three to inspect fish to make sure that they do not possess any of the signs of non-kosherness kosher signs for a fish are fins and scales Mitzvah number four do not eat flesh that comes from an animal that is not Kosher a mammal that is not Kosher it's the number five do not eat birds that are not kosher
