Becoming An Instant Tzaddik | Rabbi Moshe Tuvia Lieff

I heard the terrible news that מורי ורבי, my Rebbe, my father, Maran Hagaon Rav Rafael Shmuel Berenbaum zt”l was Niftar. I flew in to New York. I was zoche to be one of the Talmidim involved in his Tahara. I went to the Mir for the Levaya. I flew to Eretz Yisroel. I was zoche to Kover him, to be Maspid him in Eretz Yisroel. On the flight, his son told me, the Rosh Yeshiva, Rav Asher, an incredible insight from the Rebbe. The Torah tells us that Yaakov Avinu was told: Exclaims Yaakov: I have to go see him before I die. Asks Reb Shmuel: Of course! Once Yaakov Avinu has died, he can't see his son? He answered, based on what Reb Elchanan told the Talmidim in Baranovich. So Reb Elchanan zt”l, ה’ יקום דמו, Gey zen, go see the Chafetz Chaim zt”l, because in this world you can see him. But in עולם האמת, עלמא דקשוט, the world of truth where they understand the Aracha, the Chashivus of the Chafetz Chaim, where you won't be allowed in his Mechitzas, in his environs. Go see the Chafetz Chaim now. Go to Radin today. Said Reb Shmuel: The איש תם יושב אוהלים, the Masmid Hador, the גדול שבגדולים Avada Yaakov Avinu was the perennial Talmid Chacham, איש תם יושב אוהלים. But Yosef is called Yosef HaTzaddik. He faced the most difficult Nisayon and the Yetzer Hara, the Satan blinked. To the extent that the Midrash says The Nisayon of Eishes Potifar was more difficult than all the Nisyonos of Avraham Avinu, Yitzchak and Yaakov all combined. Another Midrash says, that she came to him every single day for two years. I'm your ticket out of here. He refused. Chazal call him Yosef HaTzaddik. Said Yaakov Avinu: I better go see him in this world, because who knows if in the next world they’ll allow him in his Mechitzas, I'll be allowed in his environs. He's a Tzaddik. He is Yosef HaTzaddik. And here’s Yaakov Avinu, בחיר האבות, exclaiming according to Reb Shmuel, I'd better go see him now before I die, because once I'm gone from this world, who knows if I'll be zoche to be in the Mechitzas of an Ish Kadosh, like Yosef was called a Tzaddik by Chazal in this world. Do we realize what Vayimaen is all about? Everyone is transported, transformed, transcended into a Tzaddik, by not looking, by not thinking, by recognizing the need to control and to control our minds and our hearts. We become instant Tzaddik עד כדי כך that there are places reserved in Gan Eden that maybe the greatest can't approach. That's what Vayimaen is. It's to create a lifestyle, where Yaakov Avinu says: I better see you today. Who knows what will be לעתיד לבוא. Let's change ourselves. Let's strengthen ourselves. Let's refuse and let's become elevated. We'll be zoche to Gan Eden in Olam Haba and live Gan Eden in this world, as well.
