Good morning, everybody.
Welcome to
Basi Legani 2016
number nine.
And with God's grace,
I don't want to know if I don't know if
we could say the grand finale.
That's something you could finish as a
But on some level, the grand finale.
So, we are up to the last perek of the
ma'amar, perek ches, chapter eight,
which is in the kuntres page chof vov.
Chof vov, oh, very nice. Chof vov 2016,
chof vov, yeah.
And the
the series and this class is dedicated
leilus nishmas Harav Hagaon Rav Avraham
Chaim ben Hagaon Rav Mordechai Ze'ev
HaCohen ben Hagaon Rav Avraham Chaim
HaCohen ben Hagaon Rav Mordechai Ze'ev
HaCohen.
And by Reb Ezra Dovid Philip in honor of
the Rebbe's shluchim the world over.
For bracha v'hatzlacha ad bli dai.
And thank you
very, very much. So,
actually, this chapter
summarizes the ma'amar
and brings it back all the way to the
beginning
of what it started. The whole idea of
the ma'amar was Basi Legani Achosi
Kallah.
That iker shchinah betachtonim hayah,
the shchinah's primary residence was in
the lowest world. And then there was the
expulsion
of the shchinah through the seven sins.
That's what it says in Medrash Rabbah on
the possuk Basi Legani.
And then came seven tzaddikim and began
to heal
the fragment fragmented world.
Moshe, Avraham, Yitzchak, Yaakov, and
then you have Yaakov's son is Levi,
Kehos, Amram, and then Moshe is the
seventh.
And Moshe is the one who brings the
shchinah all the way back to the earth
where originally it was, especially
through
the Mishkan, building the Mishkan. When
When says on that day, Basi Legani
Achosi Kallah, I came to my garden to my
wedding canopy, wedding pavilion is Gani
Gnuni.
The place where uh
was designated for me to
crush him changing the shaker to
carriage and
the stools and
this is a battle
and for this battle the king squanders
and splurges all of the pleasures and he
gives it to the commanders but it has to
go to the soldiers and then the question
is what the is.
And from this start of the whole is
so
and catch and catch less.
And the whole memoir
of explaining the
and catch less and the
and catch and in this memoir in the so
if it's self unlike in the previous
years as we discussed in the previous
year.
What was the last that we learned here?
The last point that was brought out.
Last
is the end of it.
Pleasure, ecstasy, bliss, delight,
smack.
The end of
What's the main of
So just to to
to bring out at least one aspect in this
whole discussion.
And that is that
we have to understand
that the word is actually there's an
expression in
it's brought a lot of
and
it says in the memoir may end.
There's nothing higher than that's the
expression.
So it says the earliest
for the memoir may end.
So it may end he says is the same
letters as a leprosy.
It may end as a pleasure that is two
opposites. It may end.
There's nothing higher than What does it
mean there's nothing higher than it?
If you look at the soul, so it says it
explains it at least one of the
dimensions is
we radiate energy in everything.
When you do an action, there's energy
there. You make a cup of coffee.
Right? Or you fix a door knob,
or you take a walk. Everything radiates
a certain element of your energy.
There's something called
dibbur, when you speak. Of course, when
you think.
Every emotion, every instinct, every
thing you're involved in, your soul is
involved in.
There's nothing you're involved in that
your soul is not involved in.
Whether I'm sleeping, or I'm eating, or
I'm digesting, or I'm having a
conversation, or I'm doing something.
Could be very something very technical,
something very grand.
When you go deeper and deeper, Yeah.
there's more involvement of the soul,
more conscious involvement of the soul.
The deepest place, even deeper than
desire, so behind everything, behind
behavior and behind thoughts and behind
behind words and behind thoughts, and
even behind emotions and instincts, you
have something deeper which is ratzon.
Like we learned before, ratzon is the
makif. For anything to happen, you need
ratzon. It's like the motor.
It's the motivating piece.
Ratzon, even to open my eyes, I want to
look at something. So you look at me. I
If I don't want, I don't want.
If I want to get involved in learning
something, I want to come to a shiur.
The shiur is a shiur. I'm going to have
to use my mind. But without ratzon,
it's not happening. That's why you
called ratzon earlier kayach makif.
Meaning, it encompasses the entire body.
It's not limited to a particular limb or
a particular organ.
Everything comes from ratzon. Ratzon
affects every single part.
Beyond ratzon is taanug. Ein l'maalah
m'taanug. Ratzon is I want.
But why do I want it? I don't mean why
rationally, in terms of rationality
philosophically. Why I mean, what's
behind the ratzon? Always taanug.
Some form of taanug.
How long that taanug is going to last,
how real the taanug is, what is the
taanug from?
That depends in every situation. But
taanug, bliss, that is, in the lashon of
Chassidus, it's not the neshamah, the
nefesh, gravitating to something. It's
the soul in itself.
And the ratzon is based on that.
The ratzon is based on that. Because of
oyneg, because of the experiential
internal element of oyneg, therefore
there's a ratzon.
And from ratzon comes everything else
ultimately, all the way down to the
smallest behavior. Now, I'm not always
identified consciously that whole
process. But that's the nekudah of
tayneg.
Huh? Oyneg.
Oyneg, oyneg.
Anchor. Oyneg in in Hebrew, anchor. It
anchors, yeah.
Like the anchor to the ship that Yeah,
the
the source of it, the anchor of it,
yeah.
Now, there's tayneg of the nefesh
beheimes. There's tayneg of the nefesh
elokis, right? There's tayneg that's
perceived as tayneg.
This is going to give me the bliss of my
soul. Unfortunately, I'm in touch maybe
with a superficial part of myself.
And as a result of that, I'm I'm in
touch with superficial bliss. And it's
not going to last long, so I'm going to
look for another tayneg.
So, there could be, you know, fake news,
right?
Uh Ponzi schemes.
But the nekudah of tayneg is that in the
deepest realm,
there's what gives the neshama tayneg,
which really is the design of the soul,
the the pnimius of the soul. That's
called etzem hanefesh in Chassidus.
That's tayneg. Ain And that's why we say
ain lema'alah me'oyneg.
And that's why we said yesterday that's
what deepest presence is.
The deepest form of presence I can give
somebody is
I can force myself to want. I want to go
I want to be with you.
But you don't lack the oyneg. I could
say the right things. I could I could do
the right things. I could And it's all
it's all it's all amazing.
But the deepest thing you can give to
somebody is and you can't force this cuz
it's Einek. Is it my Einek?
When an infant child experiences the
Einek of his or her mother
in holding them,
that is probably the single most
powerful regulating factor in their
nervous system for their entire life.
What's that message? That message is
you're safe.
You can trust.
And you, your value is unquestionable.
In fact, my presence with you
provides me with Einek. Hasn't been
contaminated yet.
Yeah.
And it's not transactional, right? So, I
have pleasure because you're cute and
I'm going to get something from you and
this No.
We have those agendas. Those are all
part of the human agendas where the ego
hijacks it.
But in the deepest place, Einek is the
purest form of the self. What is it
really rooted in?
What is it really rooted in? That's one
of the big Nekudahs of this Maim.
What it really Nekudahs is is in the
lashon of the Madrashas Avak Adash
Baruch Hu did it The word Avak is an
interesting word.
Right, I mentioned yesterday Taiva.
Usually we would do it in the Shabbos
not so complimentary. And that's the
Chazal's word to use why God created the
whole world. And there's even the famous
word from the Alter Rebbe,
right? That
That
that when they when they would discuss
why Hashem created cuz that's the big
the big question. Like what what What
was missing? There's only we create
things because something is missing.
We created automobiles or hospitals or
universities or coaches or wheels cuz
something is missing.
Everything is created because of a void,
because of because of everything.
There's no such a thing.
Even your cup of coffee you created,
you're thirsty, you're tired, whatever
it is, you want your everything. There's
no such a thing.
And even a person is I don't know why
I'm doing it. He may not know why he's
doing it, but there something there.
I'm bored, I'm lonely, I'm I'm whatever
it is.
So, this is a good question, right? In
In In Jewish philosophy, it's like the
biggest question. God is supposed to be
perfect. Perfection means you have no
needs. If you have no needs,
why are you doing this? You're bored?
That's That's the huge question.
So, they were discussing this. So, the
Alter Rebbe said, "Was will to It says
the Sava Kaddish Baruch." A fateless can
catch a niche.
So, some people almost
I once saw somebody wrote the story. Uh
a writer, a secular artist. He said the
Alter Rebbe was joking. But, the dish is
a toss. It was like a very funny joke.
But, then you see the Rebbe Rashab has
Hamshach Tofresh Samach Vav was more
than 500 pages based on this line of the
Alter Rebbe.
One of the deepest one of the Mitzvah of
Shabbat is called Tofresh Hamshach
Tofresh Samach Vav.
It's a series of my mother for 3 years
that the Rebbe Rashab said, a series.
It's over 500 pages. Tofresh Samach Vav
1905 and went till Tofresh Samach Ches.
It's based on this this word from the
Alter Rebbe.
This guy wrote he said it as a joke.
Okay.
Huh? I'll I guess it's a joke, yeah. 500
pages to explain the joke.
But, the truth is, yeah, it wasn't a
joke. He was saying something very deep.
A fateless can catch a niche means all
our discussions of why are part of
creation. So, your your your discussion
of why is futile.
Because why also has a why. Why why?
In other logic is part of what was
created.
So, let's say you have a beautiful
reason, right? God was also bound by
that reason. Like he Like he he he he
grew up in a world where they told him,
"You have to make sense, God." The
concept of sense is part of creation.
Logic was created. Cycle was created.
Not all the philosophers like this idea.
There's a big
debate.
That God is also bound by logic. It's
interesting.
He says yes,
there's certain things God can do
because not because it's because it's a
stupid.
It's a huge between him and the other
guy. Some
Jewish philosophers said, for example,
there was a question can a child be
older than a father?
Yeah.
He even says
can you write and not write? Can you
move clockwise and counterclockwise? Of
course he can't. It's stupid.
Stone that he can't pick up or can 2 + 2
= 9? Of course not.
It's stupid.
It's not a compliment to God that 2 + 2
= 9.
Amazing. It's ridiculous.
Or even better, 2 + 2 = pink. Thank you.
You're not even saying anything. It's
His point is it's stupidity. Like don't
say God can do it. You didn't say
anything. Cuz 2 + 2 doesn't equal 9.
That's his point. Others argued with it.
It's a big
Why? Cuz it was also created.
It's true in the world of stupidity. 2 +
2 doesn't equal 9. I don't care how
powerful and infinite you are.
Now today, the argument stopped cuz in
quantum mechanics
everything is irrational.
Stephen Hawkins was a big scientist and
he said if you when you talk about
quantum mechanics, I open the drawer and
take out my gun.
In other words, I want to shoot myself
because
all my science is out in the garbage.
They'll tell you subatomic particles
move clockwise and counterclockwise
simultaneously.
Schrodinger's cat is dead and alive
simultaneously. And this is pure This is
science of atheists.
So suddenly the whole argument became
moot.
But the citizen it always
cycle was created. So now the Rebbe is
saying the tiger itself is concussion is
because
Yeah, in other words, the the word cash
is already part of creation. So you you
need to go to a place, yeah? He wasn't
giving a reason. You need to go to a
place that's pre any reason. And this
Ave expresses that.
And what's that title?
title
Now
we have to think about this for a
moment. Take all the Take in this room,
how much love is there in this room?
A lot, right? Does this guy himself
You know how much love in his heart?
Takes up a lot of space, doesn't it?
Yeah. And you know about him?
You don't know, but I do know. I don't
even know, but I know a little bit. And
you know him?
What do I can go on.
There's a lot of love in this room,
okay? Now take the love in the whole
world.
Literally, and now take all the love of
history from the beginning from Adam
Adam and all the love just in this
world.
It's a lot, right? It's intense cuz you
just know your own love is intense. Take
the love of everybody in all of history.
And that's all just a little fraction of
the source of love.
It's the way love is embodied in the
human physical frail
uh mortal heart.
So
if you can get to the source of it, what
does that look like?
That's all the love that we humans
experience with all of our moods and
insanity and frustrations and ego.
Right? And it's still pretty powerful.
Just one mother's love and everybody's
love and all of history. And that's in
this world. Then go to a higher world, a
higher world, a higher higher where the
heart is like open. And then where
there's not even a heart cuz it's just
pure love. And all of that you can't
even say is 1% of the source of love.
Yeah, some I was once arguing with
somebody. It was in the shoot, I think.
It was a
Whatever he considered himself an
atheist.
So, he had a lot to say about it. I just
told him one thing, okay?
Just you have love in your heart. You
have a lot of love. You have
consciousness.
What
It's It's a real experience. It's not a
It's It's a real experience. Like what
that Where did that come from?
You You think that had no author?
Like such depth, such realness. You
think after 25 billion years of a
mindless cell
So, it says love jumped out of it and
filled consciousness with it. Like
You know, and it's true. It's It's a
Just even even your love It There's an
author to that. Where did you get this
idea of love? Where? We take it for
granted, but none of this should be
taken for granted.
Where did you get this passion? Where
did you get this this this this
connectivity? This bliss? Where?
The answer is as much as of and tinyuk
you have
it's a fra- it's a It's not even 1%.
It's a fragment of a fraction of the
source.
So, in the source, do you imagine how
much love and bliss there is? You can't.
If we would, we would stop existing.
But every time you're experiencing any
tinyuk, any of a
that is
a a flow of that.
And that's what the magid said. That's
the title of the depth of the title of
the magid. Have a mitzvah with it.
The moment you go into a higher space
with less tzimtzum you start feeling
more tinyuk.
Higher higher I I David had no
measurement for Torah. Eliyahu had no
measurement. Yechezkel had no
measurement. Shkiah you started to
measure. So, the magid says, "Why?"
Because really it's all tinyuk.
In the source, what is Torah? What is
mitzvah? It's Hashem's tinyuk.
If we would channel that, we close our
nefesh mamash. So, it goes into tzimtzum
tzimtzum tzimtzum tzimtzum
all the way down. And he says the higher
you go, what do you mean higher? He says
when you do a mitzvah and you and you
you're in a deeper state, the tinok
becomes
expensive.
Now if you go back all the way to the
source, that tinok is the source of
creation. This is Kodesh Baruch Hu.
The deep tinok of what?
And the answer is tinok of you.
Tinok of what?
Ain't not
so tinok of what?
That's why love and bliss are not small
little things. That is the core.
That's the etzem.
Everything is a manifestation of that.
Everything.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
And all of creation
is a flow a
manifestation an embodiment of that of
that tinok.
We learned before in the title of the
Maggid that he said that the thing that
glues the time the Maggid says tinok is
it's things even opposites.
In other words, it's the glue
that brings things together.
All
in our world, all matter. What are the
building blocks of matter? Atoms.
Atoms combine together to form
molecules.
Right? A drop of water, they call H2O.
Two of hydrogen, right? One of oxygen.
So H2O.
They have to form.
All of creation all of existence is
things bonding together. Without
molecules, if they fall apart,
kaput.
There's nothing, no existence.
So, the maggot is telling you, what's
the glue? Tinug. That's the glue.
Every molecule is screaming, tinug.
Everything.
How many atoms have to come together to
create a coffee bean?
To create your finger.
To create any system in biology, in
botany, in Australia, everything,
everything is things coming together.
What is it? It's tinug. That's what the
maggot says.
So, if you want to get
microscopically, if you want to look at
when we look at molecules, even with the
mic, we see molecules.
But, if you go deeper, cuz it says
you'll see dvar Hashem.
You'll see divine energy.
And if you go deeper, you'll see ratzon
Hashem. And if you go deeper,
you'll hit tinug.
That's where you'll hit tinug.
And there's nothing that's divorced from
it, because
that's like the
just like in us, etzem hanefesh, tinug
is underlying everything.
So, b'ta'anug hamit'saneh, it's a
reflection by Hashem.
Then this aveh.
And in everything, therefore, is a
result of that. That's like the energy,
it's the fuel, it's the neshama, it's
the consciousness behind all of
creation. Of course, it goes through a
whole hishtalshelus.
When I'm speaking, it's not just tinug,
the tinug goes in, there's machshava,
there's dibbur, there's ma'aseh.
But, if you go to the raw material
behind it,
it's
not just I want you, not just I want
you.
It's the bliss that I have in you.
Yeah.
Yeah. And that's why it's the deepest
gift you can give to somebody.
That's what ultimate presence is. You
say, "Be present. Be present with your
children. Be present with your loved
ones." What does that look like? Not to
be on your phone. Yeah, that's a good
beginning.
What does it really look like?
And you know what? You see how hard it
is for us. You see how important it is,
right? You see the resistance.
There's always something to do. There's
always a distraction.
The resistance of that. Because how many
people do it with themselves?
How present are you with How present am
I with myself?
There's tremendous I have to do what I
want to What do I have going on with
Satan?
You know that You know that line in the
brain, "I've nothing to do with my
life."
You know that great line?
You have nothing to do with your life.
We're sitting on a couch with
presents. Who invented that new word?
Stress. Oh, that's a Jewish word.
Anxiety. Oh, beautiful. Responsibility.
Akavod, responsibility.
Presents. Then there's a couch potato.
Then there's a much of skinem. So, drop
that already. And I am I supposed to
present a new thing?
But it's time to heal all of this cuz
we're trying to win the war.
Everything is presents.
So, that's what the Rebbe is saying
here.
In In Now in the ISIS of this mind, man.
Yeah. He's talking about Ain Sof. So,
now I want you to see the structure
here.
He started off with a whole marshal of a
teacher and a student.
Makif Akadaf Makif Adakif. This is what
the teacher teaches that's integrated.
This is what the teacher teaches that
hovers over the student that will be
integrated in 40 years. There's makif
far rochek that's inaccessible.
But that he also gives through the
mashalim.
He also does it.
It's not that he doesn't give it.
But that doesn't come through ideas.
That doesn't come through communication
of ideas.
That's a story.
And the story in its in its in its helam
dehashtar and its uh
in its deceptive
simplicity
and entertaining qualities
you know, he gets away with everything.
That story captures it.
Right, the mashal that has it. You have
he has the whole thing.
He has the whole thing.
That's all a mashal in sechel.
That's what he said it's a mashal in
sechel. So over there also he did
lamatah den tachlis. Lamailah lamatah
den tachlis is gilui.
There's lamatah den tachlis after the
tzimtzum.
Yeah, that's like the ohr that goes in
the pnimius. There's lamailah den
tachlis uh lamatah den tachlis that's
bigeder gilui. That's the ohr inside,
but it's all bigeder gilui.
And then there's lamailah den ketz, the
makif far rochek that comes in through
mashal.
Then he went over to ratzon.
He said that the Tzemach Tzedek says
ratzon is a koach makif.
But it's a koach that motivates
everything.
It doesn't get integrated into every
aver and that's why the ratzon for
everything is the same.
But it's a koach that affects us as
lamatah den tachlis. And then you have
ratzon leratzon.
You remember raiv dechol raivin.
Shikcha.
That's that's expressed in when you
forget things.
There's no consciousness of it. That's
the ratzon behind all the ratzonus. And
that's the lamailah den ketz and that's
the nasi'us. That's what a nasi is.
That's the inyan of nase not only
nishmah. That's all in ratzon.
The end of the ma'amar, it's all in
ta'anug.
Everything went to ta'anug.
It's not stam.
That's
Now he goes in the next the next one.
That's what tinug is. In tinug explain
there's the tinug that's begeder giluy.
He said there's tinug amerkov.
That's the tinugim that we interact
with. Where the tinug is channeled
through a particular experience, but
everything has tinug in it.
And if there's no tinug in it,
there would be no reason for a person to
do it again. I could be in touch with my
nefesh habahamis. You know, I can
some people that you have a crush on
somebody and it's tinug and you think
that's the deepest tinug in the world,
right? People do this, they sometimes
destroy their relationships because they
find a new tinug, unfortunately
it's fictional. It's fictional because
it's based on a void inside of me that I
never healed. And it's based on a part
of the other person that I don't even
know really.
You know, whatever I'm just giving an
example. We're taking even a piece of
food. I could take eat a piece of food
that's poisonous. It looks very good,
you know.
The Rebbe used to say poison covered
with gold.
Poison covered with gold. So it speaks
in tinug, but it's still speaking to my
tinug.
Cuz it knows tinug is the way to go.
Everything.
The Alter Rebbe says in a ma'amar that
you see in the physical world the
deepest tinug is isha isha, intimacy.
Why is that?
So he says because that's the koach
hatavah.
So the world looks at it because we're
dirty.
We're dirty people.
The Alter Rebbe says no.
Because
that's where the koach ain sof comes out
most in life. That's when you become
Hashem. You could you God gives you the
ability to create like him.
There's nowhere else I could create
life. I can develop life. I can't create
life. There you become divine. And since
the source of tinug is ain Hashem, cuz
he's the source, so the closer you come
to ain sof, the more your ta'anug
becomes explosive. So over there is the
deepest ta'anug. Because we have
bechira,
I could take that koach ain sof and
distort it and it becomes a greater
distortion than anywhere else.
You hear? When Adam and Hava come back
together, they become b'tzelem Elokim,
they become divine again, so they could
create. Adam and Hava were one, b'tzelem
Elokim, then they get separated.
Intimacy is diffusion.
So you're channeling the divine deeper
than anything else in life. Of course
there's bliss.
Like everything, my animal soul can
hijack it and just make it very selfish
and hedonistic and it lasts for 5
minutes or 10 minutes.
And and that's it.
And ultimately both people feel empty
afterwards cuz it wasn't intimacy, into
me see.
It was hijacked by a more external force
because that's how the world works.
Klipa comes into anything.
And klipa says, I also have ta'anug and
I'll I'll I'll cover it. But you have to
understand the mahus.
It's a haflah d'kavod. It's it's not a
vart. This is not a vart. It's uh
It it shows you what ta'anug is.
The Gemara says in Maseches Brachos,
I don't know if you know the story, but
it's in Gemara, so it's interesting that
Chazal decided to put this story into
the Gemara.
Rav Kahana
had a rebbe, his name was Rav.
Rav was the godol hador.
And he decided he wants to see
what Rav's marriage looks like. That's
what the Gemara says. So he went and he
snuck into his house
and he hid under his bed.
And he was quite shocked to see that
Rav, the Gemara says, it was
there was tremendous passion.
Tremendous. He thought, you know, Rav
b'suf a kratz, a b'suf this.
The Gemara says he saw that Rav was was
it was incredible.
And he came out of the bed.
So Rav said
This is part of Torah I have to learn
and nobody's can teaching it to me.
Yeah.
So there's something very deep here.
So it's a very important for all the
kallah teachers
that teach kallah teachers.
Somebody once told me that they taught
her that she has to be like a rock
who doesn't feel anything cuz the
tachlis of her marriage is to give him
pleasure cuz men are behemas.
So this is it's sick.
Creates tremendous destruction. So
that's very important for that. But if
you want to go much deeper, it.
It's like what we learned about Shir
Hashirim, right? What we learning in the
There's the no time like time of love
and kiss.
Whenever your physical experience is
plugged into the divine, it's an
infinite bliss.
Everything else is forgery.
Now the forgery has power. I'm not We're
not denying forgery has power.
Right? Ponzi schemes can have billions
of dollars in them until you get caught.
No question.
Imitations can be powerful.
Counterfeit money can sometimes do the
job until you're caught. And it does it
for those 70 years.
But you can't compare.
The menuchas hanefesh that comes when
you're
channeling real tinok, your nervous
system knows it. It's a different type
of menuchas hanefesh, a different type
of bliss.
The satisfaction before, in middle,
after
because you're channeling God, which is
reality. You're not channeling a
cover-up for reality, which is trying to
imitate what kedusha has by saying I'll
give you a better experience.
So of course by that it was a different
it was a whole different level.
You first you first if it's a ta'am of
the onion.
This is important stuff. So this is what
this is ta'anug.
The deepest spiritual connection is
always ta'anug.
In davening, in learning, in mitzvahs,
in marriage, in chinuch, in everything,
ta'anug.
It's also not so easy to get there.
There's a lot of obstacles to it.
Self-hate is one of the biggest,
self-shame, guilt, all these things.
I'm telling you our our nervous system
feels better.
I got an email from a woman. I listen to
your classes. I don't believe a word you
say
because
I don't think anything of this is
Judaism. It's too good to be true.
That's what she writes to me. It's too
good to be true.
It's it's something is off. There's a
little tumah here. It's it's it's not
good.
Like if people come out you're feeling
as a abysmal far hack. It's a schlug and
God hates me a little bit. He may love
me after shachris, but now he hates me a
little bit. It's somehow it's a Yiddish.
It's a batamt.
It's it's it's real.
It's familiar but I had my nefesh hakah
and teshuvah abysmal. Whatever you want.
This is literally
what the Baal Shem Tov was trying to
hear, literally.
And the oilam is starting to get it.
It's nobody's fault. It's nobody's
fault. It's Hashem's fault. It's 2,000
years of a lot of suffering. It's
nobody's fault. When you suffer and
suffer and suffer and suffer, at some
point you say, "Sorry, I don't see
ta'anug as the ultimate equation here.
Sorry."
And and you say it's not judgement, but
it's important to understand that our
nervous systems have been so defined by
Galus
that anything else seems like a shaker.
It's just you told me it's too good to
be true, so it's not true. This is
fictional stuff.
But you see the language of the Baal
Shem Tov and the Maggid it was a
language of Tainug.
They didn't know about Galus. This is
This is the healing. This is Tairus
Agulah.
This is redemptive consciousness. And it
doesn't take away People are afraid it's
going to take away Yiras Shamayim. This
is the biggest Yiras Shamayim. There's
no Yiras Shamayim like the Yiras
Shamayim of Tainug. There's no Yiras
Shamayim like that.
That touches your essence.
You stay away from sin in a way that you
can't through anxiety. You can't even.
That's what Yiras Shamayim is. That's
what Yiras Yiras Shamayim is the awe.
The present the presence of of of
divinity and the awe of it and the fear
of of being disconnected from it. Of of
of like literally cutting the oxygen
the oxygen tank that's literally feeding
your entire existence. That's That's
Yiras Shamayim.
That's authentic. That's real.
That doesn't stop.
Right?
So therefore So the Maggid says the
Tainug is the glue. Everything has it.
And that's what I said yesterday.
What the What does it really you know We
speak about Everything is Tainug. When
when you're conscious when you're
present That's what presence means.
I'm I'm taking a cup of water.
And I say Baruch Atah Adonai Eloheinu
Melech Ha'olam Shehakol Nihiyah Bidvaro.
What am I saying?
I'm still acknowledging that Hashem
created the water.
It's much deeper than that.
I'm acknowledging
that
this act of creating water
is an act of him sharing with me.
I'm eating an apple or I'm eating an
orange. I make by the pre-8 and the
apple has a has has has in it a taste.
It has a flavor in it.
What is that really? It's God's way of
saying
I want to share my presence with you.
How how do I share my presence with you?
Like the Bal Shem Tov says, if he gives
me the language of ain soif, I don't
understand that language.
Here's an apple.
So, I take the apple and I hijack it to
my Shem.
Right? I take the I hijack the color
What are you doing?
It's all a relationship.
If you If you really want to If you
really want to understand this, this is
the whole of us. Talk about stories,
right? What's the whole of us?
He put us into a garden.
This is where it's really the whole
story. What was the first thing that
expelled God from the earth? The of us.
What happened?
That's the of the minor. We're trying to
heal that. What happened with us? This
is the garden.
He didn't create a fire. CREATED A
GARDEN. THAT'S WHERE What's a garden?
The used to say, there's a field and
there's a garden.
A field, you plant things that you need
to eat. Bread was the main staple of
food. I know today you're not allowed to
eat bread anymore. But I'm all used to
eat bread. That was normal food.
That was the issue.
What is consciousness?
Sourdough. Sourdough.
Yeah, but what's a garden? A garden, you
don't need a you don't need a garden for
life. It's A garden is luxury. You ever
go to the botanical It's luxury. Gardens
are luxury. Flowers are luxury. You buy
roses, yeah? Why don't you Why don't you
buy your wife carrots for us?
Isn't that more important? At least you
could put it in the soup. You have roses
on in table over there for 3 weeks UNTIL
IT BUY CARROTS.
You want to buy something more romantic
buy celery.
What's hackster with roses? The answer
is you can buy carrots and maybe you
should but
trust me the feedback is not going to be
the same.
Maybe it'll go into the kitchen chicken
soup if it's organic. I don't know.
A gun is not
necessity. It's luxury. The power of
roses is not necessity. She didn't ask
you to buy milk. It's luxury. Bossy
Lagani Why a garden? There's things to
do. The answer is I just want to hang
out with you. Why why do we have to? I
didn't have to.
I didn't have to.
Nobody forced me. You know what? I
wasn't even bored.
I wasn't even bored. IT'S NOT LIKE LET'S
HANG OUT. I GOT NOTHING TO DO WITH MY
LIFE. I NEED A social life. Let's hang
out in the garden.
My sister told me that the first date it
was 1979. So it's
a little different with my
brother-in-law. She took it she took he
took her to the airport.
That was the date. The
he took her to the airport. So she said
I made a vow.
I was actually she
I made a vow
that
that if he ever does this again I will
never look at him.
She says he did it again and now you
know 11 children later it worked out.
Right?
If you're already hanging out you don't
go to airports. YOU GO TO A GARDEN.
YEAH? That's what YOU DO.
SO WHAT'S THE WORD? BOSSY Lagani
I wasn't bored. I wasn't lonely. So so
why do you need this for? I don't need
it.
So so why you The answer is
tinok.
What does that look like? It looks like
that somehow in the deepest form of ain
sof there is tremendous love and
connectivity deeper even than infinity
because without infinity
ain sof
and it's a tinok you're here. I'm here
with choice with independence. There's
an unbelievable virtue in the Baal Shem
Tov. I don't want to get into it but
unbelievable Baal Shem Tov says there's
the big question the Rambam asks,
everybody asks, "Yedi'ah u-behirah?" If
Hashem knows everything,
so we have no choice. Cuz if he knows
what I'm going to do today in the
afternoon,
so what
if I could prove him wrong, then he's
not God. And if I can't prove him wrong,
so I am coerced by his knowledge. And
there's a pre I'm it's predetermined
what I'm going to do. Right? It's a very
interesting question. The Rambam asks it
in Hilkhot Teshuvah.
And the Rambam starts saying that
Hashem's knowledge is not like our
knowledge. And the Rebbe says, "This is
not a wise way of dealing with things.
Don't ask a question and then tell me
you can't answer it. If you can't
answer, don't ask questions. Don't open
Pandora boxes." That's what others say.
The Rebbe didn't understand it. The
Rambam was giving an answer. Whatever
There's a very big discussion on this.
The Baal Shem Tov, classic Baal Shem Tov
in Keter Shem Tov, he gives his own
answer.
Now, I can't tell you I understand his
answer, but I remember when I saw the
answer, I was like, "Whoops! That's the
Baal Shem Tov."
You know what the Baal Shem Tov says?
So, of course God knows everything. And
of course, if God knows, I have no
choice. He says, "But God's love is much
deeper than his knowledge."
Mi-tzad his knowledge, I have no free
choice. But mi-tzad his love, he wants a
relationship. And the only way I can
have a relationship is if you have
choice. Cuz if you don't have choice,
it's not a relationship.
So, his love
surpasses his knowledge. So, mi-tzad his
knowledge, I have no choice. But mi-tzad
his ta'anug, I have choice.
That's the Baal Shem Tov.
Ein Sof is like his natural space. I'm
infinite. I'm infinite. You don't have
no choice. There's no einut muvhada.
Mi-tzad the ta'anug,
it's not einut muvhada. Mi-tzad the
ta'anug, it's ta'anug in you. Ta'anug in
connectivity.
And that's why
the tinok of attachment is in the DNA of
every creation in the world. And that's
why nobody could run away from it.
Listen, we've all been Some of us have
been trying to run away from that tinok.
Because if you don't have healthy
attachment,
what do you do? You say, "I don't need
anybody."
And we use religion to justify it. You
know, I could become a gun in learning,
become a hermit, become an isolated uh
isolated intellectual.
But really, it doesn't work at the end.
Why?
And if if the work if it works for you,
doesn't work for your children. If it
works for you, doesn't work for you.
Why? Because dial avochi hey keraboy.
God was more intellectual than you. He
was more alone than you. He was more
brilliant. But the the in ain sof there
was the nisava kodesh baruch I want you.
This the Baal Shem Tov touched. This the
Baal Shem Tov touched. He showed that
relationship is at the core of
everything. What what type of
relationships? Tinok.
Not cuz I'm bored, not cuz I'm lonely,
not because I have needs. Yeah, we we
are also bored, we're lonely. And that's
why we're bored, and that's why we're
lonely, and that's why we have needs.
But in the source, he's not bored, he's
not lonely, doesn't have needs.
He doesn't need a relationship so
somebody to make him supper.
So here's here's where things switched.
Till the Baal Shem Tov, till Chassidus,
actually I should say till Kabbalah, the
point of philosophy was you're right,
God has no needs, so therefore the whole
creation was just for us.
Actually, him, he's not really, you
know, you can't even touch him.
In other words, they took this idea that
Hashem has no needs
and he's perfect, so that means that we
cannot give him anything because
what are you going to give him, you?
A little ant?
So the whole creation was just somehow
he's is to do us a favor. And
everybody's like, thanks, but no thanks.
To a tyve I am it's a Anders, right?
As the famous line with the chosen
people, you know, why can't you choose
somebody else once in a while, you
Elie Wiesel used to say, we're chosen,
but that's not for benefits necessarily.
Of course we're chosen.
And the Balshemtov said, our Rebbe said,
you know, you're misunderstanding.
Instead of saying God needs nothing, and
therefore the whole creation was just
like almost a superficial thing for us
because he's unmoved, for cat.
Realize that the tinug that he has in
you is something
that is rooted in a level of connection
that is beyond any definition of need.
So,
the relationship is much deeper than
anybody ever imagined.
The same question, but it had a
different answer.
And that's why that's the answer
that heals the galus. That's the That's
the That's so that we come to the
niquda. Why That Why this is so
important. You know, I asked yesterday,
like really, if you don't have all this
information, so why should you have this
information?
But this information is everything.
Cuz what this means is
that
in the depth In the depth of a person's
life, really in your most loneliest
loneliest spaces,
in the greatest adversity that you face,
every person in their own way,
individually and collectively,
you're not abandoned for a moment. Not
only you're not abandoned,
deep down in everything there is the
deepest intimacy and relationship of
bliss.
And when the Balshemtov says that he
sends the child away, far away,
k'sheheela yoiser tinug,
the Rebbe is explaining not only more in
quantity, more in quality.
But that the tinug we're talking about
is just like in Rutson. This is Rutson
and this is Rutson the Rutson here. It's
the time
only.
The time that can be expressed and
manifested.
Time to come work of time to go push it.
But which time are you talking about the
and catch time
what's the and catch time
the time that can't be articulated.
And if we
says how is it expressed? It's not the
guy looks like a stone.
Cuz any form of expression you know
there's a verse from the
I
didn't know where it was I saw it years
ago.
Unbelievable verse
just a question what did
look like by Martin Tyler.
So what did he look like? It's a
question of what did he look like? I
don't know what he looked like.
So he says it says
everybody was trembling
there was
He says and if you looked at
looked we are mystical eyes.
He looked like ice frozen ice.
Why so this is this is the
that time when you are at Messiah.
What we spoke yesterday the end of the
at some fish.
Any
any
any form of expression
and experience
jeopardizes that.
Because it's like the
where you back that at some fish.
It's the cuz without without any way of
articulating it not in movement and not
in feeling not because it's not there.
Because
any
Yeah.
Yeah. You
all experience ceases.
So on the outside like a piece of ice.
Inside
it's complete complete oneness complete.
All the layers of the diamond.
dancing and singing
ultimate
complete stillness. Complete stillness,
yeah.
Yeah.
That's why
it's
you should get excited. This is like
diamond.
So on a deeper
supposed to be with a coil. It says in
you know you read the words like pearls.
Stop. You know we took people
There's a guy I know is an influential
Jew. So I asked him he asked me then I
asked him he said if
interesting question I mean.
He didn't learn much but he says if you
could be if you could take if you could
get rid of something of Judaism what
would you get rid of? He asks me.
So I asked him.
He says davening.
The davening drives everybody crazy.
You should do one paragraph
and thank God and that's it move on.
So this is a classic example. What's
this holding in of davening? The holding
in of davening was that the
wanted people to go back to the garden
and have a good time.
That's really what it is.
It's almost like you have a date with
your wife every day for two hours. Like
that's the highlight of the day. Then
you have to go make a living so go make
a living.
You know the right that whoever says is
abundantly
he never saw light in his day cuz that's
the site of life. Why? Cuz that's
presence. Let's just spend time
together. I want to feel your love. I
want to feel I want to be with you.
That's it. Bossy Lagani.
The garden has no there's no transaction
here. I'm not looking to get SOMETHING
FROM YOU.
OKAY NOW NOW GO WORK. NOW YOU YOU KNOW
ONCE you have your once your marriage is
amazing you go to work like a mensch.
You have
you could be kind to other people. The
house life is miserable I don't have to
tell you what happens in in the office.
Guy once told me he has a shul and the
board members are very wealthy people,
but at board meetings, they behave like
kids.
Mommy's like babies, killing each other.
And you look at people, the influential
Some of them have 1,000 people working
for them, 3,000 people.
I asked him, "What's the reason?" He
says, "Pashut.
At home, they can't They have to behave
cuz they're scared of their wives. In
the office, they're big CEOs, so they
have to be normal. So, weirdos all their
unresolved, infantile, immature
craziness come out in shul board
meetings.
So, here all their meshugas comes out.
Their insecurities, their egos, their
their
And the poor rabbi has to deal with it.
And they could fight over a dollar, two
dollars. The guy has to spend $200
million today on whatever, on a lawsuit,
but to hear he's fighting over $6. The
rabbi wants a salary, wants an extra
$100 cuz he might have a bar mitzvah.
Like
Why am I saying this? I don't even
remember. Why am I talking about this
guy? Oh.
When When your When your house base is
is is beautiful, right?
I don't have time for exercise.
Right? But your whole day is fashlept.
Spend that hour on nurturing yourself,
and then you're living in a different
space.
Everybody understands that.
So, what's Bas Lagani? What's the Aitz
Hadass?
Shem tells Adam and Hava, "Let's go to
the garden." Why? "I want to be with
you."
You.
But one tree you can't eat. He doesn't
say don't eat. He says, "Eat from every
tree."
Micol Aitz, people don't realize. He
didn't say don't eat from one tree. He
said, "Eat from every tree. MICOL AITZ
HAGAN
ONE TREE NOT." WHY?
PASHUT.
If you use one tree that you don't eat
from, that's the tree that has a sign.
And what's the sign? The sign is, "This
is my garden.
I brought you into my garden." It's like
I take you into my house, the whole
house is yours forever,
but I say there's one closet
to mine. What does that tell you? It
tells you that everything is a gift.
That's it. What does that do? The bliss
remains. Wow.
You're crazy about me. Wow, wow, wow,
wow. What does the nachas do?
The nachas do he hates you. That's why
he doesn't let you be in that closet.
You understand?
The whole The whole The whole STORY
BECAME A STORY of competitiveness. He
actually hates you.
Whoa.
So, they go to that closet. They go to
that closet. So, what happens? The
shkhinah gets banished. What do you mean
the shkhinah gets banished? What is it's
it's not
it's not strange language. So, the God
went to the first heaven. What he went
on vacation to the first heaven? It
meant they lost consciousness. They were
not plugged into consciousness anymore.
Instead of seeing the bliss that he has
in you, I want to spend time busi le
gani chaisi kala. It's like now God is
the enemy. Who's the boss? I run this
world. Okay, wow.
So, from taanug it became nega. You took
the taanug and you made it nega.
And that's what we're still trying to
heal.
We're still trying to heal.
And this taanug is not just a chitzoni
is the kinyan, the lema'ala deintachlis,
which is also big.
That varti'er is the lema'ala deinketz,
that daas taanug in the deepest form of
ein sof. You could say that I have no
access to. That what God has doesn't
have taanug in me.
MAYBE THERE'S A PART OF GOD, YOU KNOW,
that I don't know I don't I still don't
know why he's
but fine.
So, THE BAAL SHEM TOV
SAYS NO.
That's not the oitzer.
The oitzer is the lema'ala deinketz,
that in actual sense of or captures that
and that's what he gives with the whole
that we learned.
And here is and we we are you is that?
That really becomes the punchline.
Of the title of the market. The market
says remember
let's walk three days in the midbar.
We don't they didn't want to walk for
three days. They were walking for good.
They were leaving the time. Why do you
have to lie to power? So midbar comes in
the word dibur.
So the market says we're going three
days
into the dibur where God is going to
communicate title in order to connect
three worlds.
That's
what we're doing. Before the title was
given they also had title. What did they
have? They had the energy of title.
What did I have have? He had the he had
the bliss of title.
He had the energy of a mix. He felt the
love. He felt the garden.
The physical mystery didn't have.
But he operated on the frequency of
harmony of of of trust of faith of
surrender.
But Martin Tyler was no there's going to
be mixes my CS my son. So the
market says what is the challenge is if
you have only my sir
it becomes very much it becomes very
restricted. It could be very technique
technical.
You
want to be
the master. We want to be the master and
the dibur to the master. Master is the
way title is in God's thought. Dibur is
the way it's communicated and master is
the way it's in the physical actions.
And his whole idea that
the higher you go from master to dibur
master the more time you go there is.
And time you go ultimately connects
everything.
And that's how you connect all the
worlds to God. So the asked the question
so if so you see us with sign dumbing
down the tinook.
Before that, there was an a higher
world. Now, you're bringing it down with
something missing here.
You're going out of mitzrayim to go down
to maisa.
So, this comes this is the whole point
that the tinook of lamata they
that comes out through the giluy of
tinook.
That's what we call consciousness,
spirituality, dvekut in a real sense.
That's the journey from this world to
the higher worlds.
Where do you have the tinook of lamala
the tinook of atzmus.
You have it in the mashal.
In the mashal in the parable in the
story in the Baal Shem Tov in the Baal
Shem Tov and the Maggid of Mezeritch
where do you have it? You have it in you
have it in the stories of Torah.
And you have it in maisa.
What does it mean you have it in maisa?
That in the physical day-to-day life of
the person including the maisa of the
mitzvah and the Torah the way it's down
here and that involvement the whole
physical dimension. Don't think for a
moment that this is the worst because
there's nothing here. It's like that
parable.
Dafka because of the Helen of Hester
this captures the etzem.
Even lo charedi there's no expression.
So, that's the pin of the tinook.
Any questions?
Huh?
If I tie this concoctionist.
And to be honest, I don't understand
everything I told you today.
But
I was trying to go with the flow.
Huh?
The truth is I understood It's not that
I It's not that I didn't understand,
it's that there's the blockages inside
of me that keep on saying that
it's manipulation, yeah.
Cuz what I mean is that to experience
real tinok, you need a level of
relaxation and regulation that is very
profound. You really have to be able to
let go of the darkness, and it's not
easy.
There's a hijacker, you know.
Deep, deep down, I'll tell you I'll tell
you.
I I speak from experience. I'm not I'm
not telling you an abstract thing.
Deep down, at least from I'm not not
maybe not for all of us, but for some of
us,
deep, deep down,
we feel that life at its core is someone
manipulating. I don't know if people can
relate to this.
And the nervous system right away senses
it knows manipulation. It's so sensitive
to truth.
I don't mean manipulation that
somebody's sitting here manipulating me.
Manipulation in a very deep energetic
space.
Because if at my core
I cannot feel the tinok of Hashem inside
of me,
meaning that I am a manifestation of his
tinok, it's substituted by deep shame.
And come back to the story. I just
realized, what's the first thing that
happens to Adam and Hava when they eat
from the tree?
Shame.
The first thing.
We're naked. What I'm ugly. I'm naked.
Nobody's ever going to look at me again.
This is disgusting.
We have to get dressed. What What What?
You were naked before also.
What What happened? What Where did that
shame come from?
The shame the moment you stop
experiencing the tinug.
Of course there's shame.
Actually, shame makes sense.
If you're disconnected from God, it's
actually pretty shameful. It's pretty
disgusting.
You understand? We're actually
sensitive. The The thing is we're not
disconnected. But if I'm I'm
disconnected,
what's the
What does Alter Rebbe always teach?
What's the most shameful thing about
reality? The answer is metzius, being
being.
Existence outside of Hashem, you're not
going to get something more shameful.
You're not. I promise you. You could
then you could take off all your
clothes, get up on this table, and do
whatever you want. It's not going to
come close to the shame of being a
metzius.
That's the truth.
You have to learn the Likutei Siddur to
get that, but that's what it is.
That's what Adam and Chava felt. This is
horrible. I'm naked. Even if they were
wearing clothes, it's not the
You're feeling disgusting.
You know No I can't look at me, you
can't look at me.
Now, for some of us, deep deep down,
there is this shame.
Until we don't acknowledge that, we
can't heal from it.
It's a shame that sits at the core. It's
a snake. It's literally a snake. The The
The Rashi says bon nachash
al Chava vehicle bazoo. We learned in
the mind of Chayei Sarah. The snake came
and he ingested toxicity into Chava, in
intimacy. What does that mean? It means
that when Chava looks at herself, she
could see a snake.
Instead of seeing herself as the the
bliss of God, she sees in herself a
snake, a serpent. And now she's not sure
if it's her snake talking, or if it's
her divinity talking.
And that's very difficult.
So, that's what I was dealing with.
Finding a way
Relaxation
another hijack
from God.
>> Yeah, I think I think regulation maybe
is a better word. Regulation.
Relaxation.
Menucha, right? What do we say about
Shabbos Mincha, right?
Menuchas Avon Edava. Menuchas Emes
Ve'Emunah. Menuchas Shleima By the way,
those who believe that all of Judaism is
anxiety, like read that, okay? Menuchas
Avon Edava. Menuchas Emes Ve'Emunah.
MENUCHAS SHLEIMA ATAH Ratzui Nobody else
wants it. We want everybody to be
stressed.
Yakiru Vanachaviyeidu It's a whole
ma'amar over there. Yakiru
Vanachaviyeidu Kimei Itchalei
Menuchasam.
Va'al Menuchasam Yagdishu
Do you know what they're saying over
there?
The Mitteler Rebbe has a whole ma'amar,
a huge ma'amar, that he said in prison.
He said in prison Shabbos Mincha.
Shabbos Vayeitzei, the day before he
came out of prison. Tes Kislev Tof Kof
Beis Ayin. In prison, he said the
ma'amar explaining this whole piece.
Next day came out of prison.
What were you see what Menucha is?
Menuchas Avon Edava, Emes Ve'Emunah,
Menuchas Shleima Atah Ratzui
And it's a whole avodah Yakiru
Vanachaviyeidu Kimei Itchalei
Menuchasam. And what if it's not
Me'Itcha?
What if it's from my What if it's from
my my phone? Menucha.
What if it's from my if it's from my
private plane?
No.
Va'al Menuchasam Yagdishu This is what
we're talking about.
This is a different type of Menucha.
This is not a Menucha of escape.
This is not a Menucha where make me feel
good for 5 minutes. That's not Menucha.
Exactly. It's a Menucha that comes from
surrender. It's a Menucha where you're
channeling the ta'anug of Ein Sof.
That's what it is. There's And no
Menucha is going to be able to get close
to that.
The Menucha of complete bittul. Va'al
Menuchasam Yagdishu
The biggest Kiddush Hashem is minucha.
Whoever heard that?
That's not kiddush Hashem.
Kiddush Hashem is that if there's an
abuser, don't tell anybody cuz you're
going to make a chillul Hashem. So,
kiddush Hashem is hide abuse.
I'm being a little uh
cynical.
Huh?
Duly noted, right?
The al minuchasum, the biggest kiddush
Hashem is minucha.
You'll see, you will publicize God's
name in the deepest way when you find
inner regulation. You will see that.
There was nothing You want to educate
your children? You want to inspire
people? Minucha will That's There's
nothing like it.
How do you think the Baal Shem Tov
changed the Jewish world?
Presence. That's it.
Presence.
Real presence.
Presence doesn't mean I'm not
distracted. Presence is the deepest
avodah. Presence is What's presence? So,
what's real presence?
Presence is that you're channeling right
now the taanug
of Hashem
that's flowing through you. How do I
know it's flowing through me? Cuz I
exist.
That's how I know.
The moment Adam and Hava let go of this,
the snake said, "God actually hates you
and that's why he doesn't want you to
eat from the tree."
What happens? They're full of shame.
Why? And the ego was born. And you know
what? The most shameful experience of
life is ego.
There's nothing more shameful. You know
why? Cuz it's a lie. It's the ultimate
lie.
And it's a lie that's coming because you
were hijacked and you were deceived and
duped to believe that the lack of ego is
somebody trying to control you. When the
lack of ego actually means that you're
alive. Ego death means you're alive.
It's the greatest lie in the world. I'm
trying to give you all the love and
bliss in the world and life and you're
calling that death and you're creating
from a snake life, and that now you're
celebrating that. Of course, it's
torturous and shameful. Sensitive people
are ashamed.
And by the way, the moment you could
convert your shame into this shame,
you're healed from your shame.
I'm working on it.
The moment you could look at all your
anxiety and say,
you know what, deep down I'm actually
ashamed
because
how can I be a mitzius in the presence
of ain safe? That's actually something
good to be ashamed about, you know what?
It's actually it's it's hijacking. It's
ganeva. It's ganeva.
Imagine I find a manuscript on your
phone, I publish it in my name,
I get all the all the all the all the
credits, all the accolades, all the
money.
I should be ashamed, right?
The moment I exist, that's what I did. I
just stole from ain safe
everything. Of course, I should be
ashamed.
The moment the moment I talk about
myself, not about Hashem,
that's
the ultimate shameful reality. Why you
talk What are you talking about? It's
true as This is it. This busha
This is what shame looks like. It's
called year year year as boishus and
shidus.
It's an awe of fear that comes from
shame. This is good shame, healthy
shame.
Yeah, of course, I should be ashamed.
Why did I steal your book?
Why don't I trust that I have any
energy? What like what what what am I
doing What are you doing here?
You're a channel of infinity. Like what
do you what do you want more? It's very
shameful to
I was once an MC at a chuppah. I'll
never forget. It was in California years
ago.
Dr. Laura was there and she did the half
hour the next day on her radio show. She
reviewed the chuppah.
Cuz I explained everything. It was very
nice. Dr. Laura Schlessinger, I don't
know if you remember radio show.
After So, I did a lot I did like a whole
presentation. It was
There was an old Jew there. His name was
Mr. Newman. I still remember.
Rabbi Newman, the principal of Bais
Rivkah's father. He was an old Jew, a
short Yid
from Pylna from the other side of the
house. He came over to me and he was
already a very old man and he smacked
me.
I didn't expect that Dr. Laura did a
whole radio show on me and he smacked
me.
I said, "Was ist das?"
Literally, like this. Like a little
short guy. So, you couldn't get upset at
him. He was like this little guy who was
like looked like he was 95. I mean, he
was probably younger, but that's what it
looked like. You can't get upset like
this.
He said that was not nice.
That was not nice. I'm like, "What was
not nice?"
He says, "You took away the attention
from the chassan and the kallah."
You stole the attention from the chassan
and the kallah.
That was it and he walked away.
That's what he told me.
It's their chuppah.
You were supposed to MC their chuppah.
It became about you. You took away their
attention. He didn't even I'm explaining
what he said. He just said he smacked
me. That was the main thing he said.
Right?
So, that's
That's That's That's presence in life in
every every moment.
That's what the cholderechecha da eiyu.
Cholderechecha da eiyu is not a da'arga.
Cholderechecha da eiyu means don't be a
gunner.
You're drinking a coffee, don't be a
gunner.
You're eating an orange, don't be a
gunner.
You're drinking eating a yogurt soup,
don't be a gunner. That's it.
Don't be a gunner. Don't come into my
house, steal everything from my
computer, steal everything from my
refrigerator, and then say, "It's mine."
It's not nice what you did. That's
shameful.
means
be a mensch.
You came into my garden. I love you. I'm
crazy about you. Enjoy life. That's it.
The snake says, "No."
And really what it is is instead of
creating self-confidence, it creates the
deepest form of shame.
Huh?
Self-consciousness, exactly. Instead of
self-confidence, it's
self-consciousness.
You know why? Cuz I'm investing in
something that doesn't exist. So, how
hard is that? That's what
self-consciousness is.
That's what That's what so many of us
are doing. We're investing, trying to
create something that doesn't exist.
Good luck.
That's why
we are all cuckoo.
The Rebbe Maharash
Yeah, the Rebbe liked saying that. He
said like this, the Rebbe Maharash said,
What's the lash?
You're not deceiving God. You're not
deceiving the world. You're fooling
yourself. What's the big deal that an
idiot fools an idiot?
So, he said,
"Your ego Your ego is playing games with
your ego." Brilliant. We'll put it on
the matzeiva. My ego played games with
my ego. Wow.
Impressive.
So, this is where this was the Atzmus,
literally Bashe Legani, right? We say
that bring what's bring the Shechina
back down the Eretz.
The tinug
of Atzmus
in you.
In what? In your Atzmius.
And where is it expressed? You have it
expressed in the spiritual connection.
And for Kedusha, the deeper you go
there, the more tinug, more more more
tinug. Like we learned, the mitzvah in
the physical sense could be stripped
from tinug. The moment you expect you
see the energy in Torah, you see that
it's full of tinug. And if you go
higher, it's like wow, the Baal Shem Tov
said it's a nest that he stays alive
after davening.
Why? Cuz he experienced the tinug.
Not only it's not a burden, it's like oh
my god, this is too good to be true.
What that lady said to me, it's too good
to be true, right?
I don't remember if I answered this to
her or I were I'm thinking what I should
have answered.
But it is.
As much as you hearing it in the
classes, it's not even close to how true
it is.
In fact, the Maggid says over there in
that Torah, what
mitzvah mitzvah?
He says what mitzvah is the mitzvah? The
schar of the mitzvah is experiencing the
tinug in the mitzvah. That's it it is.
The whole oilam haba
is the mitzvah.
It's just here
whatever it's a mitzvah, you're not
spending time with it. And in in there
you'll see it. That's it.
It'll be revealed, you'll see it.
It's all tinug.
Every piece of Gemara
is intellectual, but really what is it?
It's tinug.
CUZ SEICHEL IS ALSO TINUG.
If apple if the apple is God sharing
with me himself
his bliss but he can't do it through ain
sof cuz I don't understand ain sof. So
he says okay, here's an apple.
Here's an orange. And And many flavors
are there in the world? The Alter Rebbe
says in a ma'amar, there's so many
flavors because it's all the ta'anug of
Ein Sof.
So, there's a piece of potato, and
there's a shtikel fleish, and there's a
chicken, and there's an egg, and there's
milk, and there's yogurt, and there's
butter, and there's an orange, and
there's a cherry, and there's a
watermelon, and there's a cantaloupe,
and there's a pineapple.
And there's a cucumber, AND THERE'S
CELERY, AND IT'S ALL TA'ANUG. IT'S ALL
DIFFERENT. Everything is a different
flavor. I told you it says in Torah
Parshas of Eida, before you digest, you
first taste.
Because the ta'am, that's the ta'am,
that's the ruchniyus of the ma'achal
that he wants to GIVE YOU. AND NOW, I
ALSO WANT YOUR BODY should be healthy.
That's step two.
The first.
In other words, it's a relationship.
It's literally like stop, pause. That
means going away from the eitz hada'as.
Don't live in it. Live in the eitz
hachaim.
There's a real relationship here.
And in terms of connectivity with
people,
ta'anug is the connective tissue of
everything. The Maggid says this. What's
mechaber a man and a woman is ta'anug.
That's why the deepest thing you can do
in any relationship is presence. What's
presence? Presence is there's something
in your existence that arouses my bliss.
There's something in my existence that
arouses your bliss. Now, to get to that
point, a lot of work is needed.
Because usually your existence is
triggering my fear, my insecurity, my
ego, I need validation, you didn't
compliment me today, you criticized.
But, we don't even go there.
To get to this place, you have to have a
lot of self-awareness, a lot of
self-awareness. With God, with
ourselves, and with everybody else, with
people.
It's even hard to do it with your
children. Of course, we say we love our
kids, and we do love our kids.
But, loving your kids and being present
with your kids are two worlds.
We often love our kids because of guilt,
because of shame, because we don't want
them to go through the pain that we went
through, because we want to be called
good fathers, and it's all beautiful
stuff. I'm not knocking it, because it
makes the world go round, and our kids,
but I have a lot because of it but real
it real again is tiny nook something
else.
So the Brazil said yesterday why is this
not narcissistic it's the opposite of
narcissism. Narcissism is my tiny nook
is in me and I use you to satisfy the
void in me. That's narcissism.
This tiny nook is the opposite.
My heart is expansive. It's so
expansive. And connectivity with you
fills me with joy not because of what
I'm going to get from you
to use you and manipulate you.
But it's your presence that I celebrate.
It's the connection itself.
To be in that relationship with you to
see you that it fills me. Why does it
fill me? What what what what are you
going to get from it? I'm not going to
get anything from it. It's not
transactional. It's not that you should
do to favor to me tomorrow and I should
be able to use you and manipulate you.
That's not that's a hijacked form of
distorted wounded tiny nook. That's the
snake talking.
That's the snake talking. We have
snakes. The snake talks.
Now the challenge in all of this is that
everything I said here was words.
The internal internalization of it
is a whole different experience.
Because deep down if I am deep deep down
in the deepest core of existence if I
feel
deep down that I'm shameful and evil
and repulsive
so everything else is contaminated by
that everything.
Huh?
The inner inner ear yeah.
You know we say words
it's beautiful and it's good to say.
But but the experience the experience of
it.
Huh?
So this is void.
The id versus the id, yeah.
The nachash.
The nachash versus the alekos.
Huh?
Yeah.
There's a lotion in this
what's the end of mashiach?
Giluy ta'anuga atzmus b'nishmas Yisrael.
Just think about that. That's what he's
saying.
But what does what what what would that
look like if I viscerally felt it?
It's not a mymar. It I felt it.
And then the you know, middle of the
mymarim the alter rebbe would start
rolling. You know that. I told you many
times. He would start rolling and
and he would hit the the walls of the
shul in the yazna where where made of
cement.
So he would push and bang his head into
the wall and he would start bleeding. So
they put cushions
on all the walls.
Mamish if he does say it's all they put
if he does say they put cushions on all
the walls cuz in the middle of a mymar
the alter rebbe would literally go into
ecstasy. He would get down on the floor
and he would start rolling from dveykus.
From from just complete ecstasy from
ta'anug from ta'anug.
And and he would bump into the walls and
turn and there was a choizer, a Pinchas
Roizes. The Pinchas Roizes was one of
the choizers and he would write down
nachas in the yazna. There's a sefer
called mymarim likutei nachas harab
nachas of Pinchas. And he was very
medayek every word. When he wrote, you
know it's exactly what the alter rebbe
said the way he remembered it.
So the Pinchas would roll after the
alter rebbe cuz the oilam stopped
hearing. He couldn't hear anymore. So he
would roll after him.
And they say there's one of the rishumas
they say that sometimes in his mymarim
he puts three dots. What happened? The
alter rebbe took a turn and he missed a
few words. So, he doesn't want to
compensate it. So, he just put in a few
dots.
That's how much he was mad at her.
Pinchas was mad at her in every word.
So, this is what's called This is
This is experiential. It's not It's not
words. It's the whole ticken of sodas.
That's the ticken of sodas. That's what
it is.
This is embodied. It's embodied. It's
completely experiential.
And the moment you show up to life from
this space, everything is completely
different.
You don't have to blame. You don't have
to judge.
Also, not yourself.
So, here is the exercise, okay? We could
catch ourselves.
You'll know right away, those especially
who do this work a little, you know you
could feel the energy right away. The
moment I go into a place of
judgement, blame,
shame, guilt,
putting judgements on people, right away
I'm not in that place anymore. Which is
fine. I'm not.
My
getting scared. The is basically taking
over. I just have to be aware of that.
Watch that. Like almost watch it.
And then I could choose not to live from
that space. In other words, not to make
decisions or say words, but I have to be
able to say I'm not in this space.
I'm not.
Knowing for sure it's going to happen.
Yeah, I'm alive, yeah. I'm alive.
I'm not in flow. I'm not in flow. I'm
not a chan. I'm not I'm not in flow. I'm
self-conscious.
Um overwhelmed. I'm scared. Whatever it
is, everyone in their own way.
I'm having anxiety.
And I could really watch it. I could
really watch it. I just had a hard
conversation with somebody.
Somebody called me and said whatever.
And and uh
maybe somebody else's mood is very hard
for me to see and it's really triggering
stuff inside of me. Not It's not even
necessarily conscious.
You know, your kid can make a comment to
you that's really hard to hear. Your
wife can make a comment to you that's
hard to hear.
Or somebody else or just life, you know,
everyone in their own way.
And we literally go space. Like you
start feeling angry, you start feeling
resentment, you start like get me out of
this place. I'm done. Whatever, I can
never satis-
All these things
I just It's not tainug anymore.
The problem is I'm going to be looking
now for fake tainug. So, what happens?
This is when we start binging. We open
the pantry like
and the refrigerator every 5 minutes.
You ever do that?
What are we looking for? We're looking
for to fill the void that just happened.
Cuz the moment I'm not in touch with the
real tainug, I need tainug. Everybody
needs tainug.
So, if there's cake on the table, I'll
eat the cake.
If my phone is available, okay, let's go
on the phone for 45 minutes.
Whatever call from shul, I'm going to
look to get nurture from then the snake
has things to offer.
A much deeper and better way is saying
I'm not in flow now. This a difficult
moment, right? The sun was My a was sent
away to Mar
the distance
but right here right now
there's something to work through
and if I could stay present with
everything that is
not only is there not
it's a that may be from the deepest form
that's not expressed in an experience
of Gilui
for
now it's not connecting to the source
now you are source in other words at
those moments there's a gift you could
find not the that is communicating to
you but the that is in your essence that
is actually coming from his essence
that's inaccessible.
But it's hard because the voices don't
let me go there so we need to be aware
of that too.
So now
now
so this is some some
of bringing out this Indian that the is
trying to say in the but at least the
way I processed it
at least part of it
and I think the way it can explain you
know the way it could come into our
lives.
I went yesterday to I was yesterday at a
sauna
so somebody was sitting near me
and we were talking about the Mar
and this is all about a said
who learns
who teaches
and he says to me what is the practical
relevance of this what is the relevance
of this learning and learning and
learning I don't see any practical
relevance could you give me a lesson
from this Mar
that's what he asked me.
No I actually didn't answer.
I was smart.
I didn't answer.
I'm saying this because
those who are hearing the sheer either
live or virtually
there's a lot of people learning this
mind before you try this. Very people
learn the mind.
And uh
if everybody could share with others who
are open to this
you know, what you took out of the mind
literally what you took out of it.
Not just in terms of an idea. Obviously
the ideas are very important. That's the
actual mitzvah. That's the foundation.
But really in terms of experience like
what that does for you in your life.
It's a very valuable gift cuz a lot
unfortunately as I said yesterday
we can use words as channels and we can
use words as substitutes.
It's another people. It's another my
It's yeah, it's a vart. It's it's
nice.
People trust that the
knows what he's saying. It's the right
side of this. But the whole vart is that
it's given to us.
Given to us means
you need to be able to receive it.
Yeah. Yeah.
Yeah.
So let's finish now.
Now he finished the beautiful of the
mind. So now he's like
summarizes this.
We have another 15 minutes.
He may not 50 15.
Believe me that I believe that I should
say right.
Unless I don't know something comes in
and I'm compelled to say it but it's not
it's not in my my plan. So if it happens
it's nothing with me.
It's nothing to do with me. I promise
you. So CD I'm I'm going to be
authentic. If something else happens
really really like something I don't do
with me. Not always but sometimes.
After the
finishes this safe
and the bus is going to
come to
me and I'm going to say
In period you say and he continues to go
back to the nimshal, which is our inner
self.
In two lines he said the whole mind.
You have the or that's in the realm of
revelation. That's what or is. Or means
light. Light on every level means I'm
revealing something. That's what light
does. You bring it to light.
That's what or is. Or is gili. The
kidesh of this mind or is something
called etz ma or. What is etz ma or?
THE ETZ MA OR. What's the etz ma or? Not
light.
So he says the etz ma or is not beget
the gili.
It's not in the realm of revelation.
Other What is it? Interesting. Misalim
miskalil batsmusa.
It goes back into atsmos and that's or.
So stop calling it or. No, I'm going to
call it or, but it's not or.
It's misalim miskalil batsmusa. This
this he just said the whole mind or
here. This is the whole mind or.
That or doesn't only capture or
because or is so real, because or is so
bottle, because or is a real channel.
SO IT CHANNELS ALSO THE FACT
that it's not a channel.
You heard what I just said?
It channels the truth that it's not a
channel because what I'm channeling is
what I'm channeling. But I'm a channel.
So what does it mean I'm a channel? I
channel the fact that I'm not a channel.
In other words, there's that of gili,
but atsmos is not beget the gili. That
also channels.
So what does that bring out? That brings
out go back into atsmos. Go away from
or. Go away from gili. Lamala beget the
gili.
So you would think okay, so there's
nothing to do with that. So fine, so
that's inaccessible.
This is called the treasure. Oitzer
means hidden.
Just like the oitzer is the concealed
from every viewer.
Atzmus is called Sossim. Why I know that
Sossim but I can make a couple.
I let you show Sossim it's at Atzmus the
host.
Not Sossim it's at the Macabul. You
could say any recipient is too finite to
receive it. So it remains Sossim.
And even the highest highest highest
worlds like a Gabi Atzmus
it can't receive it so it says that's
not the vart.
But Atzmus it's Sossim. It's not because
you're unworthy or uncapable. That's a
beautiful vart.
That's a true vart in life. That's true
even in the first level of air. Air be
getting Gili can't be revealed
everywhere. Depends.
On one level it's Sossim. On a higher
level it's be Gili.
A higher level
On a what's Gili on one level the Gabi a
higher level that has to be Sossim. I
can't receive that. Here he's saying
something else. He's saying Sossim the
host. That's the expression in the
Zohar. What's Sossim the host? Sossim
It's Sossim even of the Sossim because
it's not Sossim only with the Gabi the
Macabul it's Sossim be etzem. What's
that Sossim be etzem? Sossim be etzem
means it's not because I don't have who
to talk to. It's not because you're not
old enough. You're not mature enough.
You're not real enough. You don't have
enough experience. You're not infinite.
Those are all good reasons but that's
not the vart.
Sossim be etzem is the world of the
world of Gili is not try it over there.
The word revelation, communication,
expression, manifestation these are all
realms that are a Gili.
And Atzmus is not defined not by Gili
and not by Sossim but also not by Gili.
Of course if he wants he could reveal
himself.
But it's not be getting something that
it could be contained by Gili. Now you
could say one second God could do
whatever he wants. Of course he could do
whatever he wants.
He could reveal also the Sossim. I have
no problem with that.
But it's not it's not be getting Gili.
It's not big gather gillery means it's
not something that's going to be
contained by my finite resources that
I'm going to be able to say it's my
experience. In his infinity, yeah, he's
uninhibited. It's awesome gillery.
Big gather gillery means it's relatable.
The fact that he's big gather the
awesome cuz he can y'all cuz he's a
killer y'all.
And that's the whole gillery of gillery
is the relational, the connection.
Gillery is that I want you.
The awesome so when gillery you could
say I want you.
And because I want you, I'm connecting
to you. But here it's not try it. It's
beyond. And this is the this is the this
is the answer.
So the rabbit says I'm not a answer is
all awesome cuz much of the bottom
leaning on the top.
This answer remains awesome cuz it's a
cuz it is awesome.
As long as it's not negative victory.
When it comes the question of winning
the war
So they opens the and treasures that are
sealed generationally.
In other words, all the data they were
concealed because the ultimate concealed
Alicia iPhone on a signal that I come on
more little being a supporter of the
title.
But the way he gives it, how does he
give this answer? It's not a regular way
of giving.
It's not I give you the answer. It's
like we said before about the stories of
title.
But do we sing in a martial? What we
said before about Michelle Obama?
It's given over like a story.
It's given over like a martial.
It's given over in a way that you don't
nothing nobody gave you anything.
You didn't get anything. You got a cute
parable. You got a a cute story about
some snake and tree.
You didn't give me revealed light and
depth and infinity. You didn't give that
to me.
You gave me a parable. You don't see
anything in the parable.
But he says this has the whole
the whole depth the way it's by the even
the part of
that's not
it's
even the
you put into that.
But I think here is the here is the but
I think
in your in your in your couple.
Because he put it into a martial it
becomes yours. It's not his anymore.
You understand that's what giving means.
This
this becomes
the Indian of the
it's not just it remains and therefore
you don't have to it. Not only have a to
it it becomes yours.
You know
you could use it for your battle and
win. If it would never become yours you
can't you win the battle with it. It
becomes yours. The treasure is now
belonging to the soldier he could go
win.
It doesn't remain detached from him.
So here you have the
ultimate ultimate paradox.
That the
not the
the
that's
that's going to come down trickling more
revelation more more revelation. But
this Indian of that's not
it's
in about
say.
It's not shareable cuz it's not
something to be shared.
But in the time of
that must come out. Why? Cuz without it
you're not going to win. Without it
everything is at stake.
In other words the king's throne will be
usurped. Remember this is not a
for booty he said in the beginning of
the it's a for the
for the victory itself.
Not because I want territory.
Is that either the melech is real or the
melech is fake. Either the melech will
be assassinated.
It's a zero-sum game or not.
So, for this the sachna milchama, if
this is not given, if this oitzer is not
given, the the soldiers won't win.
You need to go to the sassum ba'atzmum.
I saw I I want I just
I'm not going to I I don't know, but
just to understand the rebbe is
articulating here that there's a disease
in our generation
that without the sassum ba'atzmum will
not be able to heal.
There's a
There's a stage of finishing the victory
that you need something that no other
generation needed.
They They They They were amazing. They
were incredible. We're all here because
of them.
But they did not notzach the nitzachon
hamelchama. He has to
So, I just want the people to understand
when we just say let's continue the
past, it worked. No, it didn't work.
Of course we continue the past. As all
the halachos of maser mesina and the
Torah and mitzvos, we learned what Torah
and mitzvos are. That's the etzem. But
when you just say
like just like
your father is a day, your alter zayde.
In many ways those are beautiful words,
but they're also very not true words.
They're not authentic words.
Yeah.
A father tradition and kabbalah so
malchus shamayim and and shachris mincha
ma'ariv and shulchan orech avada, we
learned that the whole thing that the
that the iker is the ma'aseh.
But But to be toifes this that there's
something in the sassum that was not
SHIYACH TO BE NIGALEH, NOT because of It
wasn't shiyach. It's a din of atzmus.
And yet there comes some I know it would
have never been because it it doesn't
belong to It's not shiyach.
It's not bigeder giluy.
And this is the samach chaim. This is
This is literally the weapon,
the experiential weapon, the energy
that without this victory doesn't
happen. And that's why the Melech is
ready to squander and splurge this
oitzer, which is not shiyach to giluy at
all. It belongs in atzmus. It belongs in
atzmus.
Nu, so what do you think it is? What
Something Something is happening here.
Without this, you're not going to win.
You're going to lose. You're You're
going to be disconnected. You're not
going to be able to finish the work.
And this is what gives the netzach and
this is the oitzer.
And it has to become yours. It's all
given to you, but it's not given in a
way of giluy.
He says it as a "Seppur em meshalam."
It's almost like
it has everything
It has everything, but not in a way that
it compromises the sossom.
And it becomes in yona shel hamakabel.
In other words, it doesn't remain up
there. It becomes your thing. So, you
could You could take it. You could take
it to the bank, so to speak. You could
take it to the front lines.
I can't give a soldier a weapon that he
can't use and just say, "Oh, it's a good
weapon. Thank you." It needs to He's
He's doing the work, not me. The
soldier's doing the work.
Not the king. The king is giving it to
him.
Nu, Reb Avraham, what do you think this
is?
Huh?
See the Rebbe takes risks. He doesn't He
doesn't It's not flowery. He takes
risks. He says He takes something.
Huh? Exactly. He's giving away the
oitzerus.
Huh?
Yeah, that's what he's saying. It's not
a game.
It's It's It's netzach milchama.
There's something at stake. In other
words, all of history, the entire What's
the word? The entire investment of
Hashem. Creation was an investment,
right? A big one.
And a lot of pain in that investment. We
all know that.
A lot of pain, sweat, blood, and tears,
and joy.
As we're learning.
The whole investment might go down the
drain, Has v'shalom.
And the king knows this.
So, all these atzmus are all good and
nice until it goes down the drain. Cuz
if the investment is worthless, it means
that it's even more important than the
atzmus. You have to have something that
is deeper than the treasure being a
treasure. And what is that? Victory.
And maybe that itself is the vort.
The moment you realize that more
important than atzmus being atzmus
is the victory.
Is Is your life. Is the relationship.
Is our avodah. Is what this world is
supposed to be. What my life could be.
That itself
perhaps
experientially
that for this even atzmus is is finished
atzmus.
In terms of atzmus, you here. It's you.
All the empowerment in the world doesn't
come close to this empowerment.
You're looking for the source? Go to the
mirror.
But we're in the
in the mashal, in the story.
In the maiseh
and the asiyah.
And here he adds another fascinating
vote.
Which
which brings out on what one more
insight in this whole in here.
And that's what he finishes with this
inside.
One more thing you need to add about the
otzer.
He says in the mind where that it was
gathered over generations, generation
after generation. He himself gathered it
and his fathers gathered it. It's the
crown jewels that was transmitted over
generations and remained concealed. What
is what how does this add up to the
idea? Hashem is not collecting from his
fathers and father's father.
What's that in the nimshal?
That this king has it for a thousand
years, 2,000 years, you know, the crown
jewels of England, the crown jewels of
France. What what's the mashal here from
his fathers?
It's explanation of the Tzemach Tzedek
which this year is tough shin khavav
when he said the mind was 100 years of
his histalkus which is tough resh
khavav.
You'd give him this tough resh khavav.
So tough shin khavav was 100 years of
his histalkus.
The pasuk ekev tishmun it says
because you will listen to Hashem
v'shamah Hashem sabris v'sachesed all
the rewards.
So the title of ekev tishmun means the
heel, the sole of the foot. Ekev ekev
shel regel. V'haya ekev tishmun
that as a result of you listening to me
ekev at the end
of time b'soif hayamim ekev v'haya ekev
at the end you're going to have the
result of tishmun is going to be the
s'char mitzvah.
So the Tzemach Tzedek explains
You could learn v'haya ekev tishmun even
though you don't see any sky now. Don't
worry, it's going to come at the end.
There's going to be a time but I can't
say I am everybody is going to get sky.
That's the best test. Don't think shot
is
even if it's not now, it's in the
future. I owe you my company owes you
$100,000.
I don't have the money right now or
whatever. I don't want to pay you right
now, BUT DON'T WORRY.
THERE'S GOING to be a time you're going
to get your full salary paid. This is
good.
God says life is this but
at the end you're going to get it. He
says that's not the word.
Because I want my salary today, not
in 5,000 years. I want my salary today.
He said something else. I love that I
have to manage.
There's a mattress stuck in in in in in
mattress
acre.
So he tells a story.
There were a few people. They came to
the princess been hired.
Who was a tonner.
And they gave him
it says there two I think two saw of
barley.
A small measurement of barley.
To to hold.
And they forgot about it. You know, it
wasn't it wasn't very expensive. They
forgot about it. They left. They moved
on.
So now the princess been hired has
barley.
And there's nobody coming to get it
because they forgot about it.
He's a He's a shimer. He's a guardian.
So how you doing? What what does he do?
Stop to leave it.
I guess after a while it's going to it
won't be good. So how you doing? Been
hired is doing some work all summer.
So he went and he took the seed of
kernels and he planted it every year
during the season of barley.
And it grows grows a lot. He makes a
silo a garden is a silo a storage house
where you put in the barley. The coins
and he gathers and he does it year after
year after year. So the two saw of
barley
because of all now a whole a whole
field.
A Hashem has shown him seven years pass.
And I guess they remembered. I don't
know how, but they remembered.
So they come, you know, and they're
ready to sue him, you know?
Cuz seven years he probably ate it,
whatever he did. So they're ready, they
come to be to be a buyer.
We want our two sub barley, you know, I
gave you 50 bucks, I want my 50 bucks.
May I have you could I have you
If he had a year recognized them. So you
think there's now going to be a
confrontation like seven years you're
not here, you know, go go go
What what am I?
I'm a lame, he said, boy you clue what
you say.
Come and take your answer. They come in,
they see from two saw, you put in $50
and you go home with $50,000. This is
good fellow.
Good mutual fund, you know, you put in
your $200
25 years ago, you come home, here's your
answer.
That's the story.
What's the word?
The pinches been a year, he didn't just
give them what they gave him.
He didn't return what they gave him. He
returned what they gave him
but with a whole different dimension.
So I'll dare you to have a new show.
So here's the new show. So I days that
you must have a total.
It's not that God will reward you what
he owes you for what you did. No.
As it gets delayed, miss I can have
a
You wait for it. You anticipate it.
For many years generation of generation
It's a different sky you're getting. It
grows and then there's a growth and then
there's a growth that grows from the
growth cuz remember after the the the
barley grew the next year, he took all
of that and he planted it again. So the
growth
became gidule gidulin until he tells
them here's your oitzer. And the word he
uses oitzer, it's like a treasure, it's
a whole silo.
That's your oitzer in machatala. He does
it for the one who waits.
What you understand what he's trying to
say in the nimshul here?
When he says gathered over generations,
generations, generations, it's not stam
to say it was a beautiful oitzer.
In every generation, it becomes a
different oitzer.
You're not talking here in quantity.
It's compounding.
It's gaining value. So, the oitzer that
we're talking about, it's not stam
another generation, another generation,
another generation, another generation.
The vartus, it becomes a different
oitzer.
So, the le maila dink cuts that we're
talking about in atzmus,
the oitzer of atzmus of a previous
GENERATION IS NOT THE OITZER OF THIS
GENERATION.
THAT waiting
and that anticipation and that distance,
it creates a new oitzer.
When you're getting that oitzer, it's a
different oitzer. The higher aikev
tishmu, and it's going to be a whole
different ingle because it's aikev.
So, really what this is saying is
that
the distance, we spoke about the child
being distanced from the father.
And the only thing that can reconcile
that distance is
the tinok.
But what tinok?
The tinok that can only be
experienced in the distance, which is
not revelation. It's the tinok atzmi
that a child finds in his essence, which
the father communicates through the
simple stories and through coming down
into his world.
Right? He's in the mud. He's He's a He
became a peasant. If you send them royal
coaches and royal ministers, I don't
know what you are. I don't know. So, you
need somebody to go into his world and
into the mud, and that's the stories of
Torah.
Right? That's the That's the That's the
integration. I'm I'm interested in what
you're interested. I'm connected to you.
And in that world, he finds the
connection, and it's in the distance,
and that's the only thing that can save
the connection because
what exists over there is not the giluy,
but the atzum.
So, as that distance continues, because
he says doir after doir after doir after
doir, a deeper tinok comes out.
Remember what the maggid said, that the
only thing that connects opposites is
tinok, and the more opposites, the more
tinok you need. So, the ultimate
opposites, you need the ultimate tinok.
So, that's the vort, that after so many
generations, the tinok that's being
given to us, and that we are capable of
touching and revealing and embodying is
an oitzer that in a previous generation
it couldn't yet be.
Because only that level of oitzer, only
that level of tinok, is what can heal
that rift, that distance. So, if the
distance is deeper, you need a whole
different level of tinok. As the maggid
says, it's tinok that connects
opposites. THAT'S THE GLUE. MORE
OPPOSITES, A whole different level of
tinok. Tinok amurchav, tinok apashut,
tinok aatzmi. And in tinok aatzmi,
b'ufar, doir after doir after doir after
doir, a compounded oitzer, a complete
And only that can heal the child, can
heal the galus, can can create a
victory.
And that's what's being given.
For oitzros adis treasure auf she noist
na mosif l'pkeidei hachayil.
He said this even though the melech
gives it to the commanders, he gives it
to the generals.
Harei hakavana hi sheyagiya l'an
shehachayil.
They're not allowed to keep it to
themselves. If they keep it to
themselves, it's treason.
They were given it to distribute to the
soldiers. K'dei sheyiflu l'us nitzachon
amucham.
When the Rebbe the moment the second
time tough involved, I was there already
So, he said that Pideha Chayil
are the Rebbeim.
That the Melech gave them the Oisios of
Chassidus.
But the holy reason he gave it to them
is for the Anshei Chayil.
Uh
one of the first Shiurim you came to the
Beis Yechi said, I see the Alter Rebbe,
he doesn't keep any secrets for himself.
Why? He said people who have such
secrets, they like to keep it for
themselves cuz it's
First of all, it's nice. The second of
all, it gives you leverage as we call it
in English. When you have such secrets,
right? But that's only if you're not
bottled with Mitzvos, if you have an
agenda. And then you're not trusted.
The reason the Alter Rebbe has
everything is cuz he gave everything.
You understand?
The moment it's like, "Ooh, this is good
stuff. I have Ruach Hakodesh, you know?"
It's a very, very sensitive inyan cuz in
every person's life, the moment the
commander
takes says,
"There's a billion dollars and I'm
allowed to take 2% commission off
The moment you do that, it's it's
treason on the deepest level cuz you
were given the Oitzer.
You weren't given a percent of
Chitzonius the Kenyan.
So, that's what he says here. The whole
Toichen is the Anshei Chayil. The second
the moment you lose touch of that,
that it's all for the soldier on the
ground, boots on the ground,
Kedai Sheyiflu Sakin Amolcham. Ve Davka
Yodam. Who's Al Yodam? The soldiers. Mis
Mallei Retzon HaMelech. They fulfill the
deepest desire of the king. Who's the
king here in the Moshol?
Malchusho Shel Olam, the king of the
world. So, you're not Amolcham, they
should win the war. Ve Ad Sheyiflu until
the soldiers will achieve Kiyum HaYud,
the fulfillment of the prophecy of
Yeshaya Novi. Ve Nigla Kvod Hashem. Ve
Nigla Kvod Havaya. Ve Ro'u Chol Basar
Yachdav Ki Fi Hashem Diber. The glory of
Hashem will be revealed and all flesh
will see that the mouth of Hashem
speaks.
This possuk he chooses to end the
ma'amar. Why this possuk? So, I don't
know. But, perhaps what's the possuk
saying? The whole This is the inyan. The
nigleh k'vod Hashem v'ro'u chol basar ki
Hashem diber. Most m'forshim say that
when the glory of God will be revealed,
everybody will see that what God spoke
was fulfilled. His promises were
fulfilled. In other words, you'll see
what he said is going to happen is going
to happen. But, the the Alter Rebbe
teaches is much different. The Alter
Rebbe teaches is not everybody's going
to see that the promises will happen.
This is the toichen of geulah. V'nigleh
k'vod Hashem v'ro'u chol basar ya'chdav
all flesh will see ki pi Hashem diber.
That reality is pi Hashem diber. The
whole reality is the diber of Hashem.
That's how he teaches. V'ro'u chol basar
That is Moshiach. It's not that you're
going to see God will do what he said
he'll do cuz now we don't see it. V'ro'u
they'll see ki pi Hashem diber that
everything is pi Hashem diber. There's
nothing outside of pi Hashem diber.
V'ro'u chol basar flesh The flesh will
see ki pi In other words, that's the
ultimate fusion between the higher and
the lower that the basar the the the
earth down here the flesh basar l'ganei
Eden ha'elyon will be able to experience
ki pi Hashem diber. Why? Cuz v'nigleh
k'vod Hashem.
Huh?
The ta'anug atzmi is in asiyah.
In asiyah.
In the mashal in the support of the
asiyah.
M'kashe she's toifez ein in machshavah,
diber, ma'aseh.
I just want to say Monday I'm going to
be in London Sunday. So, Monday morning
there's no shiur. Uh
You can come to London.
Wednesday night is Yud Shvat. Motzei Yud
Shvat there'll be a big farbrengen here.
20 for shiur upstairs.
8:00 in the evening. Please share with
friends and family. Everybody is
invited. It'll also be live streamed by
Hashem. We'll cover your Yomi Y'luloh.
If it has in the Miami, we'll have to
take 20 hours and put it into
cuz I don't know if everybody sitting
there is uh
Huh?
That is him. Messiah is
You know
Hashem you see that everything is
dibber.
Or in the lotion of this everything is
Enoch.
Like I said you you're drinking a cup
it's
he's talking to you.
Could you please listen to me? I'm
talking to you. Don't eat my apple. I'm
talking to you.
I'm talking to you through an apple
because you're a child. You don't
understand my language. I'm talking to
you through coffee. I'm talking to you
through a shirt. I'm talking to you
through through the sunrise through the
sunset. I'm talking to you through the
through through the animal. I'm talking
to you. That's the relationship.
You know I'm talking to you. Could you
look at me? Don't look I'm talking to
you.
It's it's really it's it's it's such
it's such a it's it's it's so beautiful
to think of this in terms of life. If
I'm talking to you
and I'm sharing my heart with you,
right?
It's pretty not nice if you just you
know in the middle of a you know the the
husband goes to the you know the
one second I have a text.
I'm I'm not just talking to you. I'm
trying to marry you.
That's essentially what he's saying. I'm
trying to marry you. Like can you look
at me at least?
That's
why you're looking away. I'm talking to
you. I'm trying to connect you. I'M
TRYING TO MARRY you for heaven's sake.
Only you. There's no other girl. I want
you. I'm busy. Sorry. I'M DRINKING A
COFFEE. NO, I'M I'M
THAT'S THE WORD. We distract ourselves
from presence
through the world, which is all
presence. It's all about presence.
So, that's what the Bal Shem Tov was
trying to tell people, devekus.
Devekus means could you come in to
realize I'm trying to connect to you.
Please. Like, there's no snake here.
Like, don't make this into a snake.
I'm really trying to connect to you.
It's beautiful, no? Yeah, but the
problem actually is that he made the
distractions also.
He made the distractions also. That's
true. Why? Cuz he wants us Cuz that's to
choose the relationship, yeah? To choose
to choose Cuz if not, it wouldn't be a
choice, yeah?
Yeah.
All the animals in the world and all the
trees in the world, all the creations
are all manifesting that. But, we're the
only ones to choose it.
Right? Like, hadriat mikadeshes li and
the kalah has to agree.
If she says no, I'm not mekudeshet,
you're not.
the whole idea of
setting up that someone else should
distract the chosson.
See, is he going to respond or not?
Right.
So, the tinug is makif. It's always
there, but you have to choose. You have
to use it. It's always there. Tinug is
makif, but it could remain
subconscious. It could remain
superconscious.
You have to pull it out. In other words,
if you look deeper, if you sit with it,
you're going to find the tinug. But, you
have to sit with it.
It's there.
But, I could just look at the chitzonius
and say, "Oh, there's no tinug here.
Next, next." The moment you say, "Next,
next, next, next." You just You just
stripped it from tinug. There's no next.
What's next?
And every mitzvah exists This is it.
That's why oisek bemitsvah patur min
hamitsvah.
The Gemara says, "Ein oisin mitsvos
chavilois chavilois." You don't put
mitsvos together. Why not?
Kill two birds with one stone. We all
try to do that. One telephone CALL WITH
A MECHAYEI.
You just stripped it FROM TINUG. IT'S IF
it's a checklist, much better.
You went to a chosson in the same hall
there was a bar mitzvah. That's it. You
don't have to waste your whole night,
right?
So you're not at the chosson, you're not
at the bar mitzvah. It's checklist. But
if the mitzvah is ta'anug, so what says
chavilous chavilous?
So what happens is we strip the mitzvah
from the experience of the mitzvah. We
strip the mitzvah from the ta'anug. We
We turn it into a
a a duty which I checked off.
It's a transaction, yeah.
Transaction.
I have to I have to put them put send a
check put it to check into the bank take
it out.
You don't sit at the bank teller and say
I want to look at you.
Wow, what an experience to look at you,
right? They'll call the police.
And there's other people in the line.
So that's the difference between ta'anug
and transaction.
And the truth is even in the bank
there's also ta'anug.
Huh? Okay, look at the money.
Yeah.
What ta'anug?
If you're in a place of ta'anug, you're
going to radiate it to the bank teller
who probably could use a good
uh warm inside cuz it's pretty
