Hey, you're good.
Okay, as always, besides all the
leftover shilas from last time, so I
managed to uh get a clean copy about 45
minutes ago. So, we're going to try to
go through some of them and keep in mind
we usually get to everything sooner or
later depending on the Zman of the year
and
some of them are very big sugas which
we're going to do very big. So, if
there's something that's not explained
or left out, please make a note of it
and don't assume we covered everything.
Uh let's start with what I just received
and
a lot of them rightfully so are going to
be to uh keep it issues and of the
parents on their
which is not your responsibility
but we'll start with the first one
because it is after Pesak and apparently
it came up
my grandfather's makid on Gabra My
father went to a lit yes was not makid
what should I do so I'm not sure
who's asking this I mean sounds like the
third dur
who's uh at home and
I'm not sure
where the father is because he asked his
father already rashus
to change the mig
And
I uh my first adim was on my uh
background and uh his
grandfather was wearing a stria and his
father wasn't even wearing a gart. So I
turned to the zen and I said what
happened?
He said I uh sent him to uh
Philly and learned empaic and uh
so I said so you were masked to that he
said yeah it comes and he learned very
well about a very fine bent very happy
with the product
what's the den this is surprising to a
lot of people and don't quote this out
of context
it's always a good idea to follow the
family been hugging as is clear in the
and Ramsha says this invo about the
clothing
that mig in terms of the is really more
a function of mockum than it is family
now in the olden days till uh 100 years
ago 200 years ago it was the same thing
people didn't move around and they you
were in they were there for hundreds of
years and that's what they were so min
was the mig of the
nowadays that's not the case and
everybody's moving around constantly and
people are learning a different yes but
clearly different men hug him. So, I
don't know what the case is and sort of
um I don't want to say I'm walking into
a minefield, but uh if whoever wrote
this down can see me afterwards because
I'm not sure. So, I'm not sure. The
father already checked it out with the
zeda and he was okay with it and your
father is eating a brook. That means
that he's okay with you doing that and
the zed is already masked. If not,
again, it's not your problem. Then
there's an issue of doing something
that's annoying to a parent in front of
a parent. Nothing to do with the actual
sh of a minig. If he went to different
yeshivas and he was in yeshiva for many
years and he was in Ka and he's in
that's Ashkanaz and they're doing it
then he's not technically being on
anything but there's no reason they're
are not that important and we have
plenty to eat and uh you look around
today with the
zanthan gum which was a different tomalt
nobody asked that because I wouldn't
have an hour reach nuda and the uh
tapioca and the potato flour and all the
things that we're assuming are the
finished product doesn't look like it
should be under the is of kidney
and no one's eating a brook leaves we
have plenty to eat and it looks like
cake and cookies and plenty of nachos so
it doesn't come up as much and I
technically eat a brooks I I haven't in
years because you take uh them from here
and from there you're going to have
people who are not then yes and the
rabbitson wants to cook. So it usually
becomes a very uh mood point.
So I am not that misha to the canal in
the first place. Lisa here it's a
question of sensitivities. It's not a
question of the midig. The father
already is and the son has every right
to follow that and he's in the same type
of yeshiva. So it's not what the zed was
doing and the zed does mind then that
should have been checked out beforehand
and better late than never. But it's
really more sensitivities of a keep it
of an aim issue.
Uh the gdarium we covered this last time
but it is spherous. So I'll just touch
upon it quickly. Some of them I'm going
to do quickly uh because we um covered
some of it before important to Kazer but
for a minute or two and some of them are
uh going to need more of a uh
elaboration of mara. So the gdarm for
listening to ac cappella. So when you
mix voices and tracks and using computer
fancy software and the like that's
instruments not the instruments they had
then
you're using instruments to make it uh
sound better. So there those t know that
therefore that should be also let me see
it's hard to be m
somebody's asking should they be mafir
listen to I don't know did they have
available anybody vocalist any singing
is that blal available they're always
mixing tracks it is available still just
a plain voice nice voice singing so
that's certainly a hra
everything else is using modern day
instruments and that might defeat the
whole concept that might sound better
than anything with instruments in the
fader. With that said, you can't be
there is a that if it's not live, it's
not live. Not saying you should go with
that, but in terms of you're in a car
and you tell him, I have something
better here. Can you plug this in? And
he's
>> musical instruments also that were mixed
with the computer. The same thing.
>> Uh yeah, it's all simulating the same
and and they're and they're very good at
it. That's why it sounds so good. I'm
saying I'm saying today's musical
instruments also on a
>> onad that it's not live there is suchad
I'm not we have full disclosure over
here whenever we discuss this so you
can't being something means you're
making tiny the person has nothing to be
on that's um that's difficult to say
well many we don't listen to recorded
music
who had difficulty with explaining why
we're listening to music all year round
and it is difficult to explain based on
other he said at least in three weeks
you don't have to listen that's where it
comes from and for good reason so that
became the mig and now within that mig
we keep on trying to reduce uh what's a
certain increase what's available and
they have very fancy ways of simulating
all that and there's definitely to stick
to just voice but those are the uh those
are the tom
how can you be das you witness is
someone doing something that's clearly
an obviously user as opposed to what we
said before maybe they have so one side
is maybe you don't know everything and
there's a
best way to do it but kits comes up many
times a day so it's important to get
used to it because there's somebody's
down so it's not a small thing it's
ser if you're not doing it and you're
always looking down the easiest est best
way to do it which requires an
imagination sometimes but not a big
imagination. It's just uh setting in
your mind that this is the shot when you
don't have any other information is that
you're not ding whether it's user or not
and you don't have to become and what
you hold is user and you can remain and
still you could dash that he didn't get
the education you got and he doesn't
have the same and he didn't see the
right way to do it the better way to do
it and he grew up like that and
therefore he really doesn't know any
better and even though he heard it he
thinks that it's really overdone and
it's not that uh not that bad and that
usually is the case. Now that's not the
is not making it correct and it's still
being done on what you're looking at
that he's not a bad guy
and then
that doesn't mean you have to condone it
doesn't mean you have to start doing it
that if he's doing it he's such a good
guy there's room to be make all that
that far you don't have to go that would
be the uh if you could internalize that
and that'll be the uh because the dean
is a very quick reaction in your mind.
So if you're not trained for this,
you're going to be down the
and then to start backtracking, it's
hard to erase that. So that has to be a
general hashkaf. It's a way to see good
in people and also way to stay clear
that you're not starting to be you
should be acting like that and that it's
a good head for you and that's not a not
a steer between the two.
Similar
on
So as we mentioned in this um has to be
emphasized because otherwise we're uh
getting rid of a
which u is a big problem. There's no uh
no Indian that doesn't apply today
unless it's
related.
There are those who think in China that
I'm not perfect and therefore I can't
bring anything up. That's clearly not
true because no one was ever perfect and
if there's
or general caring about people after
it's obvious that you don't have to wait
till you're perfect. That's push.
With that said, if you're the worst at
this
m giving the shush and shouldn't be the
biggest talker, that's also push because
it's not going to work. And then they're
going to start saying, "Well, who are
you to bring this up?" So there it does
apply. Get somebody else's better at it.
If you're the only person standing there
and you're really aver and you care
about him or you don't know him that
well, but he's causing the mat to become
then you have a to say something. The
best way practically is to disarm the
person. So right away he's going to say,
"Who are you? You're not so better than
me and I heard from my that there's no
today." which is not true. Um even
though many people have told me that
either it's not true was misunderstood
or it's misaid
the ber himself might be the best or the
worst person to do it. Often the friends
have the biggest quite often they don't
realize it and if not then you somehow
manage to get one of the to speak about
it and then the person hopefully will be
there but you can't ignore it. It's a
sak for you if you're hanging around
with those people and it's a sak for
them and if you really care about them
then you should be saying something even
without the and basic
before you get to the actual
so the best way to diffuse it is to
start off saying and it's the truth I'm
not that good at it I'm not claiming to
be better than you I'm not claiming to
be firmer than you and I actually
struggle with this and it's minus also
can we work on this together maybe I'll
be usually believe that works wonders
because as soon as you say that he's not
going to get all insulted and if he
still gets insulted there's nothing you
could do. He'll say really you I didn't
you know I I'm not so great at it and
he's he's going to start acting like uh
with Anivas also and then you talk
working it together you're probably not
perfect at it and then you uh took the
personal attack out of the mat and you
stole Mim.
It comes up with and jiva wherever you
are. It comes up many times a day and
it's a way to really help people grow
and you'll end up gaining from it. Also
also in this suga uh this already gets
involved in an isser and that's why I'm
it's going to sound like there's a big
koola. Somebody sees a cigarette lying
around can he throw it out without
reimbursing the owner? Not only can he
not throw it out without reimbursing the
owner, he can't throw it out in the
first place. You can't do geneva
to I was talking over y about the zah
that talks about being mashlin the rama
to do all the mitzvah once and why
people try to do so somebody raised
their hand and said how about hazela I
said not that one
and um get and all the there are short
list of things that you really don't
have to try to get yourself in the mat
obviously and
this is do I have to pay him back do I
have take it, pay it back. You can't
take it. And uh if you do, you'd have to
pay him back. And uh the reason is not
uh condoning smoking or vaping or
anything else. The reason is because the
tsad that Rah Misha, who was not happy
about talking about the cigarettes, said
you can't is because even with the
mounting evidence that they had that,
and we have more now, it's hard to point
to one cigarette. And maybe this is his
one cigarette that he smokes on perm
even though that's not a good idea
because as we all know it gets you
started. So last time I mentioned that
to somebody he said it was in um tavves
or it was an avo
perm and he saved it up. You going to
start micromanaging that he uh he has
one a month but that's not going to not
going to do anything and that's not
going to it's very hard to say that's
user. And the same thing with the vaping
which was supposed to be solving people
had a bad habit called smoking and now
they have this thing people put under
their gums. I know this because before
pes last year and this year is even more
which isn't very comforting. Uh they um
they want to know is it a kasha pes. So
he had to explain to me what it was. I
heard about it but until he showed me.
So he said, "No, this is for the purpose
of quitting smoking and vaping and just
a nicotine withdrawal and it's not to
get to anybody here, but if you you
might know somebody that you put it onto
your uh gum and it just sits there and
hopefully does not impede your brochas
and daving. You can't talk with
anything. You can't do with anything in
your mouth." I'm not sure what they do
with that. You wouldn't say bro with
chewing gum in your mouth, I hope, or
davin or learn unless it's not
interrupting. So as I was explaining
that to him, just as an aside, you got
to be careful. Use it. He said, "No, no,
no. I have it in now as I'm talking." I
said, "That's pretty good. I didn't
notice it." So I guess it wasn't
impeding his speech. I don't know. Doing
if you feel it, not so. But that wasn't
his
pes. I said, "It needs a ha all year
round." After he explained to me what it
does, I said, "Does it have flavoring?"
He said, "Yeah, some of them are pretty
good, and there's a whole assortment of
flavors." I said, "Where the flavors
go?" So he didn't say correctly. So he
says doesn't go into your gum. The
nicotine goes into the system right
away. That's why it's by the gums. The
other stuff mixes in your mouth and you
swallow it. I said real flavors. He said
yeah. I said well it requires a all year
round on pes and you have to make a
braha.
He said a braha. I said chewing gum. You
have to make a bra. There's always one
guy in the crowd who didn't know you
have to make a braha and chewing gum.
I'm not sure why, but it's always good
to start with that. The less montapoli
they put flavors, whether it's natural,
whether it's not natural, and this thing
is the same thing. And you you're
swallowing flavors. I I happen to hold
that the Listerine strip does not
require a braha.
Maybe it depends on the flavor, maybe it
depends on the person. That's an
overpowering thing that if you have five
of them, you'd gag. And it doesn't taste
good. I interviewed this fellow for a
few minutes. He said, "No, no, no. It
just sits there. It's a slow drip and it
tastes very good." Besides the my
nicotine that's going to get me off this
whole habit so I can get back to normal
and not need any of this stuff and not
be dependent on any substance and just
live my life. That's the goal I hope.
But he said in the meanwhile I said in
the meanwhile you should make a bra and
you should make sure it has a hea and he
told me there is a company of the so
you should have all year round and I
hope it's not anybody but if you bump it
to somebody who it is no to and you see
that he put in his mouth and not make
you bring up that I struggle with this
also it's going to sound funny over
there either you do struggle with it or
you don't I mean you go you said you do
you have one of these no but in theory I
would struggle with it and if you could
help me uh do this it requires a len
And um that's part and the there are
those of China they have the same
gishmach from the lististerine things
then the taco wouldn't need a braha and
the also on a tinus and a tinus I
wouldn't take a chance anyway but
certainly not on tisham kipper and with
this thing if it has slavering it's
going to be an obvious problem so I
guess the good news is people are trying
to move away from everything and solve
the problem until we get there it seems
to be creating uh other issues and Um,
apparently people are using it. I was
more than surprised by the end of the
conversation when he said he actually
had it now and he walks around with it.
Um, but he said hopefully it's going to
do the trick.
If my only ride home, this is all in the
same suga
or if you're a lot of parents listen to
this year. I found out from the shy
every six months on time. So it's like
to everybody who lives on earth and is
murus which we try to be and try to
figure out how do you stay mrias without
making too many enemies keeping some of
your friends but standing up for what's
right and protecting your that's one
paragraph tall order but doable.
So now you understand why this next
question. My only ride home from yeshiva
is with a bal lashian hur. Should I take
the ride?
I assume if he knows he's a bal lash
that means he got a ride from him a
couple times before and he tried the
obvious steps. What do you do if
somebody comes over to you in the med?
Hopefully it's not the best mish and he
starts talking. The first thing you do
if it's really a close friend you say
can we discuss something else I don't
talk but if you don't know the guy I
understand people get funny they don't
want to start giving mus the first time
they meet somebody so you try to change
the subject which if you're quick in
your mind and your is very possible you
switch it to something very good and
interesting and juicy that's not lush
and usually people don't focus that long
and they'll uh get off track if that
doesn't work then if you already started
hearing some of it then you have to
start to flip it and say a good
commentary on why the person wasn't
wrong or it's not lashar you have to try
to make it good so I'm assuming whoever
asked this has been with this guy a few
times getting a ride home from yeshiva
he tried A tried B tried C and the guy
is such a
entrenched bal that nothing works and he
just wants to he has his 10 minutes of
that he gives people rides and he fills
the car with lush and horror for all 10
minutes. That's his to the world. And
that's just the way he's built. So, can
you take the ride home? The answer
clearly is no because you're not going
to be able to flip it because most
people in the hill all of a sudden
they're have great amuna and the person
who's saying it, they didn't make it up.
It's very hard to dislodge it from your
head. And if you try to change the
subject and the guy wants to say what he
wants to say and doesn't want to listen,
he wants to talk. So, you can't hang
around with somebody like that who's
muk. That's push. There are people like
that unfortunately who never never got
rid of the habit. They should have a
patch in the mouth for that. They have a
slow drip to able to I don't know maybe
they can invent something like that.
That would be a good idea. Uh but there
are people like that Nebul. So if you're
not making any headway, you don't want
to get into a fight with him. You can't
take the ride home from Yeshiva. I
assume whoever asked this is talking
about an intown yeshiva where it's a 5
10-minute ride. He's not in a yeshiva in
Anchorage, Alaska where this the last
car out. He's been stranded there
forever. Uh even if so, Bobby still
loves her. You'll catch the next
propeller jet out and um for whatever
reason you're there, you can't be on a
mat where uh people are forcing Kaza
down your throat. That's really what's
going on. So,
uh usually there's a there's a way
around it.
Uh this is Lifene in the other
direction.
May I delay paying up a friend because I
need the money I have for another need.
So again, if you're the bala sha over
here, you can weigh in on what you mean.
But keep in mind per the
it's really
to loan money any amount of money
without either or
most people don't do it because nobody
has a pen in them anymore. Nobody has
paper and you just want a dollar. you
want a dollar or two, whatever you want
to buy a
Coke and um somebody asked me over Pes
what if the guy in wants to buy a diet
coke I said it's not ne this what to be
whether you drink it or not it's a few
times over and there are
but it's to give the money if you want
it back so in the when people used to
borrow quarters that wasn't that long
ago I don't think um is a quarter even a
shut today something they could buy
something. Can you buy anything with a
quarter today?
>> No, doesn't sound right. Quarter
machine.
>> You're making faces. What?
>> Buy something at a machine like
>> a gumball.
>> Do they sell those things? They have uh
used to be just in the dentist office
for free. Uh so uh so okay it you have
to figure out what but when it was a
quarter people buying quarters all the
time it was in the base in the middle of
a sugging find somebody and get them and
so uh what I used to do which was no
great uh generosity on my part
especially probably my parents' money uh
is but they they wouldn't mind if I'd
asked them is that here's the quarter
I'd like it back if you happen not to
remember I'm afra not clear whe that
works or not but it there are a hold
that it works the
as why even then no one was doing it and
Europe they still didn't walk around pen
paper and for small amounts of money
maybe it's are going to be if you don't
plan on being and they're I hear the sh
all the time from and it's a dollar a
dollar and $2 and $5 and $10 they're not
and they shouldn't be as the parents
money if it adds up and um you should be
paying back on time. So that's for the
original loan. This Shila is I finally
got my hands in the money and I owe the
money. I don't know what the time frame
is.
So whatever he said I want it back in
tomorrow. He has the money. He has a
greater need. Can he not pay it back? I
don't know. Maybe somebody can help me
what that greater need would be said to
pay it back. And
talks about when it's the it's the
versus the
do we hold
okay it's the when you pay him back you
can say mitzvah holds not necessary he
has a a lot of over there
so whether it's a mitzvah in terms of
it's and you can't arbitrarily just say
I want to buy a coke now so I'm not
Sure, I could think of quickly any need
that would counterbalance the to pay
back if it's really due whatever that
date is or the like. So, um the bala
question is not here. So, um we wouldn't
know anybody think of an example where
it's such an a that uh what
you could probably get if it's not right
before
you have time if it's an hour before
usually the at that point would be his
and privilege to give it to you for
free. I know the arisal says you spend
money on dollar but um you know even
that's an interesting example you
shouldn't wait till the last minute but
uh
>> why do
>> I was going to say that or you I was
going to say he wants to loan somebody
you can't be a bass on his let's say he
wants to be a mala that that you
certainly can't do pay somebody else is
you're stealing from quote unquote from
move to give to uh to shim if he asks
first he has first there is a shilon the
If you owe money is which is many if you
have a number of workers you only have x
amount of money should you prorrate it
or is a first come first serve or
there's big iss how to do that. Maybe
that would be totally if they both come
to you at the same time. Otherwise, the
fact that you happen to have you're in
the mood for a coke uh doesn't mean that
you shouldn't be mim over here. And it's
a it's a problem that um it just came up
in uh in Shir yesterday happens to be
that we're talking about opportunities
of keshm and avoiding in the office
place. And I said the payment schedule
is what I'm hearing in Shiloh's. What
used to be 30 days stom credit came 60
90 120 in certain industries it's just
out of control and that's nobody's fault
because each one says I'd love to pay
you back but the other guy didn't pay
me. So it keeps on it's a domino effect
and that's not a good way to be even
though in certain industries it might
not be anybody's fault. So the guy came
up with me after she and he said uh
certain industries you'll understand
which one he said Medicaid doesn't pay
to 180 doesn't pay doesn't reimburse the
I said okay I'm happy on the mini that
means that I but okay so then that's the
that's ground zero now after that's 30
you have to try to really pay people
back even if people don't do that for
you and it's
and we're talking about realim and real
din and just it's a horrible thing to do
somebody and doesn't feel good when you
have it done to to yourself. So it's kad
to keep in mind.
Okay, the last one of this uh this part
of the sugia if your parents want you to
use the computer it doesn't have the
filter that I'm happy with. Should you
listen?
So the answer is you can't listen
because parents can't ask you to put
your on the line
if that's the case and that often is the
case if they're walking away and they're
giving you job to go shopping wherever
it is and they're leaving
and
anybody who's sending their sons or
daughters to yes
deep down agree with that right now
might be inconvenient. I would strongly
suggest that the person who has to
unfortunately not listen in this case be
very careful before during and after
with their deb response and be extra
careful with these reasons in the
mitzvah when they ask you to run errands
that are kasher take out the garbage
clean off the table there's no saknas
for that because if not even if you're
not good at it that doesn't m this but
it's not a kashm all of a sudden you
become very makid and one thing ignoring
them and when it comes comes to
it's like really you'd like to do the
you just can't over here that should be
followed through with the areas that
it's to do so and
that's just an
there are where they can't ask you to do
something wrong it's not ara if that was
the question it's not ara and
if it's a sak and it is and you
recognize that then you have to figure
out uh a different way to do it.
Okay, we'll go to uh long list of things
we didn't get to from before. So, um
this one I think is interesting and it
must be a sign of the times.
Uh it's not a mil even though it's a
cute Shiloh. Can someone use a drone to
say kish lavana?
A real shila here. It's not a bad shila
by the way. Can you look at the lava for
your glasses
if you wear glasses? So there's a deal
in the basement about that. The minig
I have one guy who I'm standing with in
the sh who actually lifts up his
glasses. I told him it's fine. He's he
likes to be mach. He does it with his
glasses, without his glasses. Once he
sees it without all fuzzy. It's fine
with glasses. Once you know that,
can you say through the window? No, we
don't say it through the window, but
it's supposed to be outside. But that's
a different concept. Actually, it's
freezing and the person's sick or under
the weather. Whenever it's not, you can
say it through the window just like you
say it through your glasses. That's step
number two. Step number three. So, can
you see it through an electronic window
where the it's a feed and the feed
happens to be from a drone. Why would
you want to use a drone? So sometimes
you know it's there somewhere and you
heard reports and you're in a valley and
my can easily happen. You can't see it
at your angle. So you just need a few
hundred feet up.
I don't think it's legal to fly a drone
over clouds. So if it's cloudy is not
going to help you. You just have to go
to the famous helicopter and plane
stories where you go to the airport and
just ask for a flight and they ask where
they say it doesn't make a difference.
Just get me on the next plane. So there
there are probably certain people who
did that. Not a very if that's uh you
don't have to spend that kind of money
for kesana but it's a nice hur for those
that do it if they're doing it without
ga here if it's very cloudy the drone a
drone could go over clouds but you'd
have to have an extensive one and it's
probably illegal let's say you're just
trying to get an angle is there is there
anything wrong with that it's not so
pushed that that wouldn't be good once
it's down here already just to
understand if the glasses are okay and
through the window pane is okay
technically
what's the difference that you can't
zoom 10 people for a minion that we
covered 5 years ago I believe there were
people still under the impression that
something you can't answering a is a
even answering a mi people it's not it's
a recreation of the voice held you can't
was
but over here it's a in seeing it you're
seeing it in real time so it's not so
ridiculous this lice I wouldn't do it
and we try to do mitsis the way it was
done
and I don't think it's worth the risk
and uh you can come to Wesley Hills we
have high mountains and you'll see it at
the proper angle I don't think it's
kadai but it it certainly is possible
this is a a serious sashkafa so I'll
I'll go to this one and uh it's actually
app propo it's coming out of nissen it's
of gula what's going on in the world.
One thing's for sure, if anybody says
they understood and they had a um that
they're identifying who the Msiah is and
when he's coming and it's so we don't
get into that and the Ram is mas people
from giving dates and delving too much
into the process.
With that said, the two most difficult
really the second part in the animes and
in the mitzvah
the mashia is coming there will be a is
easier and we mentioned it all over
that it could happen any time has always
been challenging. I think today it's
easier than ever. You shouldn't follow
the news too much, but if you know
anything that's going on in the world,
we've never lived at a time when things
change so drastically on a dime from one
minute to the next. And uh all the
describe wars that take 9 minutes and 11
minutes and there I don't know what that
meant to anybody.
But now that's pushed. You can have a
major world war and everything can come
to an end or a new beginning in minutes.
in seconds. So it's very believable.
That's my hackda to the next question.
So the says I heard that once the mashia
comes we'll not be able to work on
ourselves as much and get as much
that is true. This will bear for mitzvah
but it's going to be less because the
will be put down to size. It'll still
exist possib
before the Msiah comes. If so, why do
you want the Msiah to come so badly?
For the same reason that we shouldn't
want to die because then we won't be
able to do more mitzvah.
So we're here to do the misses and do
them with the maximum skyhaba. So how do
we look forward to the gula? It's a very
fair question and I think the answer is
uh combination of a number of things.
Number one, there are many unfortunately
many many people who are
certain kufers are on a daily basis they
might be Islam losing more than they're
gaining in their years due to the nanis
of the time
and the sh I hope isn't sending in a sh
to speak about he's holding is a bent so
he's assuming he's gaining more than
he's losing and the and the and he's
doing what he's supposed to be doing and
he does a marriage once in a while but
he's on the positive side of things. So
even into so first of all there are many
people who aren't there's fourth of not
just
as we sit here now fourths of
unfortunately doesn't obey the
and they certainly need a Yeshua so
perhaps they shouldn't look at just
ourselves look at the total picture
there's without getting into deep but we
do know about we know about the is going
on the by and large is not doing the
right Many of them are not and many of
them who are sham mites but it's not
clear dayto day they're doing enough
right things that they're in the
positive column. So if there's enough of
that even if you are
you can work on yourself to want it
because it's
andina
is in g is with us but there's
and going on so that is it's a madrega
but that's enough of a reason. Uh the
second thing you should add is that we
don't realize and the sha doesn't
realize and I don't realize and we don't
can't comprehend but we're missing a lot
than without
the carbonus without the kaduca the gula
will bring and even if we're in the
positive column it's even for ourselves
to want to be with a matzah that has
more kaduca and lends to a higher
madrega of even though there's less
because we're trying to do things and
it's not our business whether we're
getting so even without thinking of
everybody else I think that's no even to
the
I see there's another one people are
thinking of others there's one more on
the um sugi before which is actually uh
if you don't remember the gamar sahedron
could be dangerous engaging with a not
get from person
what do I do once they asked so the
lion
brings the mission of us that some
people says it's but you have to know
where you're learning it from
doesn't mean you learn and fill your
head with it and so you know what to
answer it means people who are qualified
to do it which is not necessarily bo
we're still learning and even uh mature
adults you have to be set up for it
because if you don't have it straight
yourself then you're going to be more
confused you have to sacrifice your even
in you have it straight and you're
the gar says brings down the Mishna
That's a big statement and we're not
going to do justice to it now. But it
means that if you have anicarious aum,
even if he sounds like he's here, but he
doesn't know too much and you'll settle
the whole thing pretty quickly if you
know what you're doing. If it's anar
I think the
is that deep down what he knows very
deep down he's not going to admit if he
wants to discuss and push the agenda of
Islam it's because he has issues that's
always like that and he's using it to
justify why he is or isn't doing certain
things so if that's the case he's not
going to back down and the more you say
and he knows more than the guy does he's
going to start using the arguments
against you. You're going to get into a
mat where you're hearing and saying and
you're not going to get anywhere and
there's no heter for that. So
I'm asking it's not and if you think the
fellow really needs help and is honestly
looking
refer him to somebody who can handle it
and they'll decide whether this applies.
You can say we don't be precarious today
but he's struggling. It's all true. So
somebody's gonna have to help him. But
you have to keep this in mind because
he's saying the Mishna.
We'll take one more and I want to just
get into some of the hashkafa in the
time we have left which is uh although
lot this was the hashkaf already
this was uh sent in actually today and
we'll do a uh it's a very uh important
and costic and misunderstood topic
uh costic meaning people get into fights
all the time so I'll just address it
briefly And if the ghoul is not here by
then and we need to readress it fukus so
fukus already there going to be a lot
more people even more from is that the
yam naran not pes is also mini yam naran
but uh the question here sent this
morning can I explain the army issue
they're talking about
I assume
might be an army issue here also but
hopefully not uh obviously Israel to
American yeshiva
it's difficult for us to really
understand what's so bad about wanting
the people in the army of course the
terrorist supreme how can we expect
people aren't really from to understand
this so let me address the last thing
first and that is that there are some
not yet from people and it's a throw out
in America who actually do understand it
either deep down or sometimes actually
verbalize it and They one one fellow
once told me a very um successful fellow
in his gashmas in his political standing
not yet for him unfortunately and he
said I get it it's just being used to
bashed and it's a political thing and
you just keep doing what you're doing I
said I don't live in this he said well
tell your friends to keep doing what
they're doing and we need some shir and
uh he was a mment enough to understand
that and he said it's all politics
opportunity to get the power when they
get the power the left liberals they're
not going to be talking about this so
much because they're going to be in
power already so they'll talk about
something else which is unfortunately
painfully obvious but he was my dad so
there people who know there people who
know won't admit it and then there are
many people who can't possibly
understand they're not from they don't
even understand basically
they're not shabas not understand the
godless of terra and the Terra and the
fact that there are supposed to be two
out of 12 learning and we're nowhere
near that in terms of glyol I think we
went through the numbers um couple of
years ago and that's counting fry people
because they yidden and clyrol is
witnessing nissim as we speak if you
heard in the reports the people came
back from maybe some of you were there
and they had very unusual things to see
you can't call it an a nigler but uh
when things keep falling despite the
damage that was done and it's a sakana
but there a lot of situations where it
could have been far worse and other
things happened and the fact that um the
mat exists we're finding out with more
clarity as time goes on with this last
war with all the successes and bombs
that they dropped there finding out how
many people really don't like us it's
aish some young people said now I never
realized this this happened to be a
16-year-old that said all your 16 years
of existence on earth. You never realize
I don't blame him. Life is good. A lot
of people there billions of them. So how
do you have a mat like this? That's the
biggest
talks about uh the uh the ama that
exists despite the incredible odds.
We're seeing more of that. That's
and we don't expect not yet from people
to understand where the is coming from.
So you shouldn't pick an argument with
them and if not understand refer to the
first part of our where you don't have
to go on the offensive with people who
it's like I'm not going to work that's
the last part to go to the part of the
very beiter I want to get to one more
point
it's not really a conversation about the
army as this fire person admitted to me
uh he said they'll fabricate whatever it
is and whenever it comes to bashing any
group. If it's a political game, they'll
do it. It never was really about the
army. That's not to say there are
situations at certain times where on
paper looks like it would help if they
had more people on the ground. Often,
and I've had this conversation with many
uh people in the upper echelons of the
various armed forces there, and they
said, "Yeah, maybe, yeah, maybe not, but
we don't really want them." And because
um half of us um dealing with the left
wing that wants to integrate more women
to the army and combat roles and the
like and it's still happening believe it
or not even though they proved 100 times
over in America that it takes away from
the fighting ability that shows that
they're not
they're
to press an agenda and make everybody
into liberals and fry and see the world
the way they see it. So that's not to do
with the army. Has to do with a a battle
of culture and a battle against which
didn't start now. It started with the
mascul and before that the karam theim.
It's the same battle in a different
outfit. And anybody who again you're not
going to be able to explain this to a
person who's not from even if they're
from and they don't have good but we
have to understand this is not about the
army.
This is about forcing people to be in a
matzah that they become less firm or not
firm and putting them in a matz where
they can't get out once they're in. And
you just have to understand how it works
on the ground there. If you don't
understand, take my word for it. And
that is the agenda. That's what's
driving this. And when people start
talking about the numbers and the army
and the and not everybody's supposed to
be learning long term and that that's
predicated on the first thing with how
many you supposed to have to balance
outim. So that might be wrong unto
itself. But even if that were correct
it's not about the enlistment per se.
It's about putting itself in a mat under
somebody else's
and their stated agenda from the time of
till now and before that with they had
the power and they had the power they
caused the Russians to make zeras were
in that sug now against clothing that
they didn't should change their clothing
and the education that was going on in
Russia for 100 years and they were in
power and they had money and they used
it and they talked the government into
doing all sorts of horrible things which
caused huska to grow which is why lobby
lost 80%. It's the same exact battle in
a different format. So the reason why
we're supposed to be very very stark on
the issue and understand why they're
fighting a battle there and we have to
help them out as much as we can and
increase the of the London terranates is
because uh if we're not there we don't
have a vote but we can clearly convey
where the largest from community the
large Jewish community outside of Israel
where they stand on the issue that makes
a Russian and where we stand tangibly on
the issue in terms of supporting it.
That certainly makes a
not about the army. It's a shila of the
Schmad that they're trying to in their
mind they say if we don't make them fry
but we make them just less from unless
that's also a step in the right
direction and we can't be party to that.
So that is the short answer of a very
complicated topic and anybody listening
to this my disclaimer at the beginning
was that there's a lot more to say we
just don't have time. So if you have any
cautious on what I just said, we can uh
discuss it uh after this year.
Let me end with um
one very uh
very powerful story which I think I
mentioned. This should sound familiar
somewhere in Shabas.
There
is a hespid that was reprinted. I saw
this in a Dra
say from
reprinted a hespid from
and the hespid was on Ra Min.
So I if you don't know who was so ask
afterwards from the previous d and mal
as well mal built
from the kashu deir who was not from the
kabur is there he also engineered derk
agav the whole escape
uh le mal was nifter relatively young
malislan so a lot of people uh
even older than the am over here didn't
get a chance to meet him myself included
and
in the hespid
rainstein
brought up a mice that he heard from
and if you know a little bit about a
little bit about
who was the gelim
he came to the mirham was still there
for a number of years that became very
very close and Rabim if you've seen his
farm and we have quite a number of them
already was very stark with the tamid
because he knew that he was grooming
the next gadel and the next set of tamid
he probably knew or certainly had the
understand that the people that he was
dealing with actually survived the war
and were responsible for the uh in large
degree growth of terror in every land in
America.
So that's why this is so important. Soim
had uh depending on the person he read
people very well uh understood people
and was able to train them according to
Abl came to the yeshiva he was still a
teenager an older teenager
and
he was there the first day or two
came over to him in the hallway
and he told him I'll translate this into
English loses something but he told them
he said he says they tell me
they tell me you're very sharp
so said right away he said I got to
understand later on that that wasn't a
compliment
it's already if you know then this is
and if you don't you'll get to know more
it can be a compliment but it can also
be a way of sham heard you're very
sharp. We're here to channel that
because you can be very very sharp and
he was probably the sharpest of the
anti-hiva and you can relax a little bit
and say and take the easy way out and
not really work. So when he first heard
it, you know
comes over to you and says you're very
sharp. You start straightening your tie
and uh you feel good about yourself. So
which he himself said I did but I found
out later that that that sham was not
necessarily a compliment. It was a sort
of a hazard light.
Then he said being that you're so bright
and your reputation precedes you. I have
a kash I'm working on it's very fair.
Maybe you can help me. Okay. He was
gonna learn later on that rebuild was
working on many parts of shas and this
kasha was tailor made for the youngl.
So the kasha was it says in parac
as you all know
about bring a carbon when you bring a
carbon for you got shabas and the has
all sorts of and the is that if you
forget
forget it was shabas you thought it was
Tuesday woke up all night
and then the talks about
described not we overuse it a little bit
today. It's more of a than people
realize a real in the hospital and
delivery room. He was born three minutes
ago.
They kidnap him and they bring him to uh
Kentucky and he's raised by Indians.
Never had a chance.
Maj never met a Yidds
Europe. So whatever is he meets yen on
Sunday morning and he's very bright and
by shabas he's already from there it's
not a mik so does he bring a carbon how
many
so says he's one katus because he's
missing one piece of information never
heard of shabas never heard of shabas
never heard of yidden yedish guy didn't
know anything and now he's backashem
I made it Sunday to shabas because
otherwise he'd have other problems once
he knew something already so making it
very very glot
he said I don't understand why in the
world is he
why is he he did absolutely nothing
wrong
he's whisked away from the delivery room
raised in Kentucky never met anybody why
is he
already at at young age was smart enough
to be quiet.
He understood that was walking out and
he meets him in the hallways. I'm
working in the shrekasha for days and I
don't know what what the is. And so he
was quiet.
>> So is waiting. He's quiet. He's quiet.
And turns to him
and he says that kasha has no terret
and anybody who asks that kasha knows
nothing about yidden or yiddish
what's the
so
I'm sure bla just he's new here and he
heard about you, but he didn't expect
this. And right after the story ends,
right after he said that, he turned
around and he wished him a good day and
he walked away. Didn't speak to him for
another week. Wasn't angry. Just wanted
him to think about it.
So, I'm not giving you a week. So, we
only have about a minute. So what's uh
what's chhat
is if you understand that is brought as
the name suggests for
tak there's no
he has gummer and why should he bring a
katus it's a kasha has no ter but in
essence the next line is the kasha is a
katasha because if you understand what a
y is and what a hanam is and what our
job is here on
It makes absolutely no difference that
he was in Kentucky being raised by
American Indians and it's tak not his
fault. That's not the purpose of the
Kurban. The purpose of the Kurban is
that a Shama needs a tikun even if it's
not his fault because Lisa he was here
on earth and he wasn't doing his job.
It's not his fault. We're not blaming
anybody.
You understand why engineered this whole
thing? because he sees a promising young
who ended up surviving the war and
helping rebuild
and he was very was built like this. is
is you have an aas whether it's your
fault you're not living up to another
you have anas and any step you could
take to give you more
to make any tikun you don't have to play
a blend game as we'd say it is my fault
it's not my fault we're so busy
pottering ourselves being so nervous
about our ego has nothing to do with
that it's you have to ask yourself every
single hour every single day am I
growing and yes
liz before d people. He doesn't know he
had a bad education. It wasn't
emphasized.
That's all good to
but you could be missing opportunities.
And the job here is to find out what
opportunities don't you not know about
are you missing and where can you
maximize the time and the kas that you
have and if you didn't do that whether
it's your fault partially
who could have learned could have looked
into it not really that's why gave him a
case the guy had no shas whatsoever he
still needs a tick that the wasn't doing
what it's supposed to be doing
very amazing insight what's before man
is that you have the privilege of um
learning
and all the parents and relatives who
are listening to this you have the
privilege of paying for it and sending
the bakim and uh and learning yourself
and growing and all everybody's trying
to do the right thing.
We'd like to be able to sort of pat
ourselves on the back which is a good
thing to do once in a while for you give
yourself give other people that we're
doing great and we are we're stiking and
we are and we're growing and I always
say anybody who comes in
it's Sunday after like a long is we just
finished Pes like 3 hours ago and you're
in the best med and anybody's listening
to this later is taking our time to
listen to another
godless we're doing unbelievable
Our responsibility is to look for the
times and the moments and the that we
didn't think we had and the time we
didn't think we had and use it to the
maximum and realize more potential. And
what we don't want to happen, it's
happen to everybody because we're human
and you can't nobody leaves this world
having done everything. But we'd like to
at least we get the shamay besides the
videotape or whatever the sabra then is
going to go through every misa. We don't
want to get to the matzah where they
point out you could have done this and
you could have learned more and you
could have given more and you could have
been nicer and you could have helped
somebody else and uh and you're going to
know I couldn't I couldn't I didn't have
is like that I didn't have a time I
didn't know that's not always a pure and
even if it was it's a missed opportunity
and nobody wants to be in a where
they're looking at somebody else and
that they could have done a lot more and
going into his man it's not about just
coasting I'm I'm in yeshiva. I'm
learning pretty well. Decent kuses. It's
taking out a little bit time beforehand.
Last month was very good. Very good. I'm
enjoying it. I'm doing well. Where can I
do a little bit more? When you squeeze
out a little bit more, you got to keep
the balance. You got to breathe a little
bit. Also, you got to know where the uh
basm fits in. You got to work that out.
But each man and throughout this man it
has to be day after day, week after week
that you're challenging yourself to do
something a little bit more. And that's
on day one what is telling is that you
can bring even though they did
absolutely nothing wrong and it's an is
to find out what you're missing. So
let's to keep that in mind.
